This same South Africa we are talking about is also pissed about how Nigeria defeated them and I believe they have started threatening Nigerians living in their country that same day. Of recent they started threatening our goalkeeper (Nwabali) which we know plays for one of the clubs (Chippa United) in South Africa, I can't understand how childish they are to always pour their anger on us (Nigerians) each time we defeat them and CAF won't do anything to stop this or even our president.

Childish indeed, I really don't know what was going on in that small brains of theirs, that just because Nwabali plays for one team in their country (which is supposed to even a privilege for them) that he should not give his all to his fatherland? How preposterous. I used to love South Africans a lot and as a matter of fact I still do, but the whole threat shit is just off the hook because I know if it were to be Nigeria who lost to the South Africans ( God forbid) Nigerians ain't gonna go round dispatching cheap threats to South Africans. Instead we'll just accept our defeat, look for how to improve in case of next time and finally MEME our sorrows away and laugh over them.

I know they will have to feel bad for losing to Nigeria, but that doesn’t mean they will be threatening the lives of Nigerians  leaving there, it makes no sense to me. Football is not a do or die affair, and in football, there will always be a winner and a loser, so any position in which you find yourself, you just have to accept it and work harder next time, but it shouldn’t lead to fight. I saw that the Super Eagles goalkeeper is being threatened, it looks childish to me, so you expect him to perform poorly when representing his country just because he is playing for a club in your country.

The game yesterday came with a lot of tension. Victor Osimhen was a machine last night and though he missed three headers yesterday, he did a great job pressuring the South African defense. I think the coach took him out too early. I think Poseiro should have waited until the last ten minutes of the match. Without Osimhen, we wouldn’t have been that bullish as we were in the attack. It was really scary match for many Nigerians. Some people could not bear to watch the penalties and waited till after the end of the game to find out the results. I don’t think I have ever seen Nigerians so happy.

Reports of three prominent names died while watching then game 🕊 at most during the penalty shoot-out. Have you also come across such news? It was heartbreaking and it takes a mentally strong person to watch that penalty shoot-out. Not all those who saw the full game watched the penalties because they was scared of disappointment.

I expected a win or lose in between, lol. Heaven knows I was scared asf. Give the coach credits at least Victims was reported to be unwell before the game. He did pretty good with lots of energy. It  was a good decision to start with your weapons and it worked for the coach.

I must say thanks to Jose Mourinho for recommendation 😀  All I see are those defensive tactics for Nigeria.  Lots to say but,  Props to the super eagles.

South Africa off course played a beautiful game in the first half and kept good ball possession to control the game, Nigeria although did come in well into the second half but failed to defend that one goal until the final whistle blew.
South Africa were playing long balls, knowing we don’t have a good midfield, that was why the first half was difficult for the Nigerian players. I was happy the coach saw the problem and substituted Alex Iwobi for Yusuf, even though Yusuf cost us a penalty. His impact on the game was obvious. Nwabali stole the show, the whole country is singing his praises but the man of the match for me is Ekong. If he did not stop that player on the run, we may have conceded a last minute goal.
The only the is that the God's of soccer is with nigeria because from the first half nigeria could not perform the way people expected them, but the grace and wining have already signed by them from above human imagination and that is why the victory have to go to nigeria instead of South Africa, secondly south Africa team was reliable to their goal keeper and they delayed a ball hoping that they will defeat nigeria through a penalty kick because of the performance of their keeper during their last match, that is why they delayed the match and continued pushing it be penalty so that they can easily defeat nigeria..but the luck of football run against them and give nigeria Vic
@ Onyeeze you mean the god of soccer? very funny, truth be told the SA boys performed more better than the super eagles team all through the game that's because they took over the midfield from us and they had control of the left and right flank which was a little difficult for other teams to do because of the presence of Zaidu in the Nigerian team. Secondly I think the SA team wasted a lot of beautiful chances that they ought to have converted to goals especially their number 10 man Percy Tau who had so many opportunities to score but failed to utilize his chances both in the first half and second half of the game. For the penalty kick, I think they were over confident enough to rely on their goal keeper since he's the first goal keeper so far to save 4 straight penalties in the history of AFCON so they believed he would do the magic but instead of him doing the magic the Nigerian goal keeper Stanley Nwabali became the hero of the night as he was able to stop two penalties that eventually gave Nigera the win.

Everyone is aware that they are all confident of their keeper and that is why they are making sure that the match ended in penalty for them to win the super eagles, but the is that their keeper lose focus and attention because of the first penalty kick that super eagles scored already,  when you come to performance I think that their performance is absolutely perfect been South Africa and in teams of scoring goal their was no space because the defenders of super eagles are all tight for them to utilize their opportunities, and secondly Stanley Nwabali is also good in goal post, so if nigeria use the method they played South Africa that means they will not come home this cup.

Is it not obvious that we are better than them at everything? You know the issue of xenophobic attacks really is something out people over there need to be bothered about. So what are they trying to insinuate? That Nwabali should have favored them because he plays in a South African club? That's a low form of thinking coming from them. They are really good at football but this their inferiority complex when it comes to Nigeria is getting way out of hand.

No way, like he (Nwabali) should just sit and watch all the ball go past him, and come to think of it, the club side wished him well but I wonder why the people of S/A have this crazy mentality that's growing in their head to always do bad things to we Nigerians.
The thing is that they (South Africans) thinks they're the only ones that knows how to be violence, I believe we have some of them here but we don't have that time to be pouring out stupid threats. If it's how is done that means all those countries we won especially the host nation would have started looking for how to either beat the players and chase them out from their country or do the same to Nigerians living in Ivory Coast, is just sad.

With the South Africa people threatening Nigerians living in their country, it only shows that we are 100 times better than they are. They have a good league no doubt (I must give them credit for that) but they should have done better if they want to win and our league isn't close to theirs, which means we are good but something is missing in our league to be better.
And I don't even see them winning the 3rd place game tomorrow against Dr. Congo, let's watch and see them lose another game if they'll go about harassing DR. Congo citizens.

When I learned about the news, I was laughing out loud like, do South Africans want the Nigeria goalkeeper to keep against this own country just because his club side is in South Africa?
This is what football can cause, making people develop hatred for their fellow beings just because they are not in support of the team they want to win.
Anyway, I am not much bothered about the South threat on Nigeria goalkeeper because there are teams who would love to sign him to be their No. 1 goalkeeper. However, no cause for alarm because Nwabali(Nigeria goalkeeper) has sold himself out to the rest of the world with his fantastic performance. I expect him to have a change of club by the end of the AFCON tournament. I really wish him luck in his future endeavors as a teams goalkeeper.

The game was very hot and interesting,  it was a game that put so many people in tension not just Nigerians but even South Africans because at that point no one knew which team will win the game.  So many people had tension which even cause them a lot pertaining to health. The South Africa team had a very good defense, that it wouldn't be just easy from any team to take advantage over them. Bit it is so Interesting to see the Nigeria team to come out as winner through penalty .

From the performance of Nigeria during the game against South Africa in the semi finals,  I can see they have the chances of winning the AFCON game because they have been doing so well in their games since the tournament started. The finals is going to be another interesting game that Nigeria won't give their opponent the chance to take advantage over them, I think this game will even be more tensed than that of the game against South Africa.

It's pitiful to see how SA feels they're in a do or die competition with Nigerians. Because if you don't see yourself like that, there's no reason I can think of, that would warrant such a childish and preposterous behavior from the South Africans.

The violence against Nigerians in South Africa is completely unacceptable. No one should have to live in fear of being attacked simply because of their nationality. South Africa from time has maintained a long history of discrimination and violence, and it's not surprising that these tensions have boiled over into violence against Nigerians.

But that's just too Childish.

This is the core post am looking for. Not only did both teams played well; they both had excellent chances to seal up the game; but their goalkeepers stood their ground to make savings. In the penalty shootout, Nigerians simply outperformed the folks from South Africa; which is good for the sports

Next is Nigeria vs Civ, the host. I will be there!!!! (To watch on tv Ofcourse)

Those threat's are part of the game but no one will come to reality to the goalkeeper that is playing for one of the south Africa club because, is against the law of Africa football for any team to harm any players or country after the game and if such thing happen in this competition South Africa will be ban from Africa football competition which their president will not allow such thing to happen.

Don't forget that Nigeria and south Africa are friends and, it will surprise you that they will support Nigeria to win ivory coast on Sunday for the relationship they have for Nigeria which is too strong for any thing to break easily.

South African should understand that this is a game of football and no matter how passionate you are, you should learn how to control your emotions, the game they lost against Nigeria shouldn't be a yastic for them to start a xenophobic attack on Nigerians living is SA.
If they go ahead with their threat, CAF will definitely sanction them.
I remember sometime ago when they started this attack against Nigerians and destroyed a lot of their businesses in South Africa,  that ugly situation shouldn't repeat itself because of a football match they lost, After all they will be playing for the third position, a feet they haven't reached in a long while in Africa football.

Nigeria won Ivory Coast in group stage, but Ivory Coast was able to come out of the group stage and also continue to win and also won DR Congo to reach the African cup of nation final meeting Nigeria again. If we can remember, Nigeria won Ivory Coast with penalty at the second half scored by William Troost-Ekong. Ivory Coast forward Sebastian Haller said they will revenge their loss to Nigeria in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations group stage. Let us see what will happen, the final is going to be interesting. I am expecting Nigeria to win this year African cup of nation.

Both teams played well there is no doubt but in the real sense South Africa played better than Nigeria. Also South Africa had a better organized and bonded team than Nigeria. Why South Africa was unable to win Nigeria during the gameplay was because of Nigeria defense which was very solid and the second reason was because of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen who kept the South Africans in their toes throughout the match.

This same South Africa we are talking about is also pissed about how Nigeria defeated them and I believe they have started threatening Nigerians living in their country that same day. I believe those were not real threats but rather the social media vibes and fan abuse. South Africans have no right to abuse or threaten or exterminate Nwabali. Rather his club will give him a warm welcome after the AFCON.

Even if we did not win the Afcon the fact that we won South Africa is more than enough for me people are more than rude, before the game I saw most of their tweets and it was so disrespectful I was so certain if we should win against them we will go dirty on them, and they felt they will have a chance in the penalty and that is why they were doing anything possible just to draw the game, they even succeeded but they were still defeated, I was surprised that even girls were interested in the game. if the issue of treatment was true then am disappointed, if the presidents are not doing anything then Twitter or X will be our place to take matters into our own hands Nigerians don't play when it comes to threats coming from an outsider.

it was a great match indeed, the tension was just too much for me after they counseled the second goal and recalled the foul that brought about the penalty that led to the equalizer. The two teams gave their fair fight in the match and I didn't expect anything less from both teams as they are obvious rivals and all wanted to get to the finals by every means possible.

I don't think the coach did anything wrong by substituting osimehn at the time he did the substitute. From what I have seen so far, the catch is a tactical man that knows what he is doing and the changes he made where very instrumental in the win we had against the bafana bafana of south Africa.

The deed is done and what lies ahead is the big game against the host nation which would be a slightly tough nut to crack considering the fact that they have the home advantage plus the crowd that will give them the needed support. But like an analyst pointed out this morning, if the supper eagles go into the game with the whole of their mind, it would be a very easy game for then because the Ivorian team will be distracted by the so many crowd that will cheer them up and that could be a serious advantage for the Nigerian side.

The cup is coming back to the giant nation.
The tension from this game resulted in the death of some Nigerians as this game really had what the characteristics of a top African game. Both teams were Superb and we mustn’t take away Credits from the South African side. Yes though they lost the game due to some failed tactics; they had their hopes up high on the penalty shootout but the goalie of the Eagles showed a master class performance and outshined South Africa’s Williams. The coach substituting Victor was tactical as Victor isn’t good with penalties so he knew what he was doing and we must commend him.

The coach has been sound tactically in this competition and you can see it from the way the boys have been playing. Unto the next which is a final against the host nation, it will be Nigeria vs Ivory Coast in what seems to be a rematch of the group stage. I think the Super Eagles will have to be fully determined and be ready to take on the host as they could steal the win and bring the trophy back home to Nigeria.

Cheesy Cheesy I taught you said you would be live at CIV on Sunday.

No doubt both teams played very well. It's unfortunate that in this stage of the competition there is nothing like a draw game there must be a winner and Nigerians has successfully won. The South Africans trolling on Nigerians over there or on the internet lack understanding. Because i see no reason for them to do so. Some may feel it is a patriotic feeling, which it is totally wrong. They are not the first team to lose in the competition, perhaps they should quit enrolling for AFCON if they know this is how they are to act.

Having confidence on someone is good but relying on his confidence is dangerous. This is exactly what happened to the South Africans on that match day. William is a good goalkeeper no doubt, but his players did not play very well in the penalty shootout which made the Nigerian goalkeeper to catch at least two of their penalty. And also the Nigerians penalty takers took the chances and scored multiple.

Government of both countries should make sure such threat doesn't extent to losing of life. Nigeria has already lost some people from heart attacks during the match either because of anxiety. It is enough and we don't want to lose more people for a game that should bring joy to the people and not sorrow. Instead of threat we should rather look for ways to win next time because it is a game that will return every two years. South Africa played very well and it was a matter of luck that Nigeria escaped, so should look forward to next time and not to spike up xenophobic again.

Nigeria have already played the host before, an it was a tight game, but Nigeria still won the game, the finals will  be different because the Super Eagles will need to ignore the loud noise and cheering of the Ivorians who will definitely have the majority in numbers of people present in the stadium. Also, the interim Ivorian coach needs to be feared too because for him to have guided this team to the finals is not just luck, it shows he has some technical brilliance too.

The players of the super eagles need to be at their best! The whole country is counting on them.
