Nigeria didn’t perform so well in the first half of the match, am not really satisfied with their performance, South Africa had some good chances which they were suppose to be converted to goal, but they missed all, the super eagles goal keeper really saved lots of balls that were suppose to be converted to goal by the South Africa, seriously if the super eagles really want to win the match, they have to put more effort in the second half of the match, if they can continue the same way they played in the first half, then they might end up conceding goal in the second half of the match. The second half as just started, let’s see how the match goes.

I agree with the fact that Nigeria performance was poor doing the first half I don't know if they were trying to analyze the whole game first before know what angle they can penetrate them better. Them resuming second half Nigeria game change totally and I was impressed with  how they were putting pressure on South Africa. And all the chances South Africa missed was for us to better our defence, which we did, the defence became stronger and with Nigeria scoring that penalty was another chance for them to put more pressure, there is nothing anyone will tell me we were cheated and I still have my hopes high, but if its our luck to win since penalty is a fifty thing. I feel cheated and angry because the ref was right in front of them and did not declare a penalty until when it a was time to cancel our second goal and awarded them a penalty that game is fucked. A controversial penalty has led the match to extra time. Victor Osimhen scored a goal to make it 2-0 for Nigeria before a call from VAR cancelled the goal and awarded a penalty, it is now 1-1 at 90 minutes. I don't think the tempo of the game will be a criterion for success here in today's game between Nigerian and South Africa. Nigeria has a poor midfield and i know that if any team who have a better midfield can seize the opportunity to make good use of it, they will win the Super eagles of Nigeria.

The Nigerian midfield has improved a lot in recent games. It was bad the first few matches of the group stage but currently, the Nigerian midfield is very solid. Now you have wingers like Simon and Lookman supporting the midfield and allowing Iwobi to dictate the tempo of the game. Oyenka is very a good tackler and he knows how to win the ball. Then don't forget that Nigeria plays with 2 wing backs that also support the midfield. All this support in midfield affects the attack negatively and that's why Nigeria suffers in attack, but it supports the defense and that is why it has made their defense very solid. They have conceded only one goal so far.

I don't think Nigeria midfield is solid because I watched this game live and I can tell you that the midfield and the defense are very porous hence whenever the South Africa team attacks they seem to create tension in the defensive region of Nigeria and the first half was mostly dominated by the Banana Bafana of South Africa. The South Africa team was playing a counter attack in the first half of which they almost scored but Nigeria goal keeper was very impressive to wave off shots that was fired at him, very good display by the goal keeper of the super eagles. Though the both keepers are very good in this game.

Nigeria's performance in this game is quite different from how they played in their last two matches they played but however they made some improvements in the second half of the match and the pressure they pose on south Africa made them concede a penalty of which the super eagles captain William Troost-Ekong played and found the back of the net and placed the super eagles on an advantage over the South Africa's Bafana Bafana side.

South Africa also had a penalty after a VAR check on a fowl committed in the super eagles 18 yard box and thet levelled the game by 1:1 and the 90 minutes of play is over as they prepare to move to the extra time of this match tonight, let's see how the extra time goes as the the South Africa side seems to be of high energy and pressure. Haven carefully watched some of the matches Nigeria have played in this tournament, I can boldly say that this game against South Africa is one of the toughest the super Eagles have played so far.
Apparently the game would have ended in the first 90 minutes if not for the penalty that was caused by a Nigerian player almost at the end of the second half, Leading to the extra time. South Africa can be very dangerous because they have one of the best goalkeepers in the tournament that made them to qualify to this stage after saving some penalty kicks from the last match. I think the safest thing for Nigeria at this point is for them to win during this extra time play without going into penalties.

I've been able to watch about two South Africa matches in the ongoing CAF African Cup Of Nations and I can authoritatively say that they're not just too good in terms of outfield football but or thing they're always maintained is their ability to win games even when they're not the better team on the pitch and that's why they were able to reach this stage of the competition.
Against the Super Eagles of Nigeria today, the Bafana Bafana of South Africa will be trying to make history by reaching the final of the AFCON for the first time in their history but that I don't think is ever gonna happen because the Nigeria national team are a better team that'll be playing in their full strength. Wow! What a thrilling and suspenseful game! Nigeria have finally gone through to the finals and I must say they deserve this spot. Believe me, on a normal day South Africa are not match to the Super eagles, but they really proved hard to beat and after they equalized later on in the game, I noticed their confidence returned and would have proved deadly if they had capitalized on their chances.
This display by Nigeria shows that they can achieve anything if they set their minds to it and even the great penalty stopper in Ronwen Williams, the South Africa keeper could not stop them.
 Although this is not what they would have wanted, at least South Africa don't get to be kicked out of the tournament, they should be happy to be consoled with third place match as the Super eagles are just too big and out of their league to defeat.

South Africa won the previous game in a penalty shootout (with a ridiculous score of 2-1) and it seemed that luck would also be on their side today, but Nwabali saved 2 shots and brought Nigeria into the final. The South African goalkeeper did not save a single shot (the penalty that was not scored was simply a shot above the goal).
Nwabali is great, but in any case it is a lottery and I am surprised that Nigeria could not win without this and even came close to losing.

Currently the game between Ivory coast vs Congo is ongoing with a goaless draw at the moment. Any team that wins tonight will be meeting Nigeria in the finals on Sunday 9th.

These Afcon games have surprised me, but in a negative way, the last few games have been full of drama and few goals, with the few goals being penalties. Let's look at the case of Nigeria:

Nigeria 1 - 1 equatorial guinea
Nigeria 1 - 0 Ivory Coast
Nigeria 1 - 0 guinea bissau
Nigeria 2 - 0 Cameroon
Nigeria 1 - 0 Angola
Nigeria 1 - 1 South Africa

It's unbelievable that this is the level of the team that will go to the final and that could even become champions, the afcon has not been a European level competition, I hope that we in Africans sit up and pay close attention when the euro games start and learn from Europeans what high quality football means, what it means to see games with lots of goals and exciting, something that until today has been lacking in Afcon, regrettably. That's why we in Africa, when we arrived at the World Cup, never won, we need to improve a lot, but it seems to me that we can't do that due to dictatorships and corruption in African governments. Currently Ivory Coast is playing against Congo, let's look at Ivory Coast's performance:

When will we see an Afcon with lots of goals and a worthy team that won convincingly and became champions? It seems like this Afcon is rigged, that's why I haven't been watching these games, I prefer to just see the final result and the highlights

I definitely agree with you, South Africans deliberately delayed in getting involved into the game towards the end of the extra time with the hope that their goalkeeper was going to do the magic he did in their last encounter, not knowing that they might run out of luck this time around.

I give the bafana bafana guy some kudos because they played beautiful football, at least they gave Nigeria the toughest match they've encountered since the start of this tournament, the match was full of intense suspense till the very last minute. Nigeria deserve the win they've been resilient from the first half even though there are some goals that were disallowed by VAR, like the one scored by victor osimhen. Congratulations to Nigeria as the first country to reach the finals, as we await to see the Result between DR Congo and ivory coast.

Congratulations to all of us Nigerians once more. I was so happy that I nearly cried out. They have been trying to find a way to kick us out of the AFCON, but this time is our chance, and we will win thanks to two clean goals scored by Osimen the first was against Angola, and the second was against South Africa, but despite that, we still prevailed in a penalty shootout. and with all this that has happened, they will never forget Nigeria, when I went to watch the game everywhere was full, and after all the hype that the South Africans keep is a good look at what we arrived at. what gave me joy the most was the fact that they were playing with confidence and a well-coordinated game i was impressed and we have won the final already I know.

Both teams didn't even play as I expected and although the first half was just too hard for Nigerians, looking at the match both teams tried and to some extend Osimhen got tired showing the effort he put to play this game.
In terms of assist and good pass I will give credit to South Africa and even with all the good assist they missed so much  opportunity like wise super eagles.
Even with the celebration and excitement the super eagles need to restructure the team in terms of assist for finals.
Surprising how Nwabali saved those goals and I never expected such performance from Nwabali, honestly speaking Nwabali is the reason for the celebration.

The game has already ended. and we Nigerians are very happy tonight; this is a very big achievement for us, and very big congratulations to the squad representing the entire nation. They make us proud tonight. Social media will be full of how we are going to mock South Africa. Tonight we are going to make it hell for them. In fact, all South Africans shouldn't be coming online because it will not be funny for them since they were talking as if once they enter the field they will just touch the ball and score, forgetting that they are about to play with the Super Eagles. However, the moment Nigeria scored the first goal, I completely believed that we were going to win the game even when South Africa equalized. I wasn't worried because of the way the Naija squad was performing.

There is nothing wrong with the way Nigeria play their game today. If they were not defensive or if they did not play these, what do you think will happen in this match? Remember that South Africa are also strong, so I think this is the only way that will favor the Super Eagles. However, the game was obviously tough, so I think securing their home will be the solution for them, and they have done that, and we win, so let's wait and see the country we are going to meet next, and I hope we should continue this way or more than this, so we will win the title.
