Nigeria indeed have hopes of actually winning this AFCON title, I mean it's been too long they even came out champions of Africa, one would think that as the most populous nation in Africa it would be a breeding ground for beautiful and wonderful talents but the big corruption in the football association won't let this size advantage to be used. The AFCON this year is looking more and more like it belongs to Nigeria because almost all the tournament favorites are out and with the way things are now it's very clear that Nigeria is actually the best team to win this.

To be honest, the game against Angola yesterday was incredibly engaging. Nigeria demonstrated to Angola Pepe yesterday that, despite that their performance not being as good in their last match against Cameroon, but they don't mind . Their determine is to win, and they succeed in doing so. Angola was regret why them rue to the quarter finals. Many thanks to Ademola Lookman, the man who made a sufficient effort, revealed his identity, worked hard, and sent homes to nearly three countries. Lookman is a standout; the Angolan defender was pursuing Victor Osimhen, and Lookman took advantage of the huge opportunity to give Nigeria a massive shot.

Some country's do not wish to witness our achievements, but everything is possible with God. As of right now, Nigeria has advanced directly to the semifinals, and the Super Eagles are just awaiting the opponent for their upcoming game.

Nigeria are playing to expectation with a very high spirit in this game unlike how we have seen Angola held other teams they had played against in this AFCON to a stand still it is different with in this game against Nigeria. Like you said, the Nigeria defence is good nothing giving the Angola's forwards to see a space to trouble the goal post with shots. Right now Nigeria is leading with a one goal and we hope they be able to secure or get more goals as they come back to the second half.

Both sides have been good but, Nigeria has been exceptional in this particular fixtures compared to all the games they’ve played in the AFCON so far. It’s not just entertaining but, seeing how both sides keeps going forward and how the Nigerian defense intercept the ball at every given advance at goal shows the level of determination they came with in this square fixture of the tournament.
Alex Iwobi have been maned the mid field so dominantly and what a great pass he delivered to Moses Simone who made the move to create that goal opportunity for Lookman, Nigeria has just best there game in this quarter finals, no question.

it was a disappointing night for the Angola's as Nigeria had to denied them all the gift items that was promised to them by their country which was part of a way to ignite their determination in the game but Nigeria wasn't an easy side for them Angola to get a win from. Nigeria's defence in that game was just wonderful with all the interceptions and the goalkeeper wasn't left out in carrying out his role in the goalpost by regularly intercepting almost every crossed pass in the air at the goalpost from reaching to the head of an Angola player.  Moving to the next stage of the competition I would believe Nigeria can get get to the finals of this tournament and possibly win it if they continue with this determination and team work, that's if injury doesn't set into the team. Of a truth ademola lookman is a very good player that the Nigerian national team will cherish for years, and the thing which makes him better than chukwu eze it his ability to put away chances, so I actually believe that he is going to improve further because he is still very young.

I am just coming around here for the first time now since yesterday before Nigeria's encounter with Angola on the AFCON 2024 quarter finals, I was privileged to watch that game from the beginning to the end, and I am here to celebrate and congratulate my fellow Nigerians for we have qualified for the semi-finals after the super eagles beat Angola 1:0 in their clash yesterday.

I must say that the game was a very hitted one, the Nigerian players didn't find the Angolan players funny, most especially in the second half of the game, but the savior Nigeria had was that we had a good defence, the supers eagles played a very good game in the first half, scored one goal and missed a couple of others, in the second half, the Angolan team were out for super eagle, they played a good game but could not entirely penetrate out defence as well as our goalkeeper, so the missed all their opportunities to score.

Yesterday's game was a good one to watch, and I am happy to say a big congratulations to the super eagles to the Nigeria at large.

Asides Peter obi was the Senate president in the person of senator God's will akpabio who was seen at the VIP area too in the stadium to support the eagles, it's very good and encouraging for the eagles to see important personalities form their country come to support them with their presence at the nations cup. I want to also treat the impression that lookman wants to outshine osimhen, if you have watched this game from the group stage up until now then you will most definitely think differently except you you have chosen to think the way you do, osimhen understand the role of team play so well and wouldn't want to shine alone but help he's team mate too and that's why at some point you see him try to make an assist than just directly getting a goal so it's not about any trying to outshine the other it's basically team play.

The success of the super eagles is primary at this time and every other is secondary and I can see they understand this as it's reflected in their style of play trying to put the teams interest first before theirs except for iwobi who hasn't been really brilliant in this tournament.

Nigeria victory was very much impressive and interesting as the Angolas had no option than to go back their country after losing to the Super Eagles. Our forward is still lagging same with our midfield but all thanks to our defense and goal keeper who helped us secure our 1 goal lead not allowing the Angolas penetrate.

Lol, whatever you do man, society would talk or make comments about it, so do whatever you want. Ooo casperBGD, wresting top spot from me. I actually had 1 nil for both games, but changed Nigeria to 2 nil last night after some thought. Still. 2 correct outcomes ain't nothing to sniff at.

If not for the referee's cancellation of Osinhem's goal in the second half because of offside committed, the match would have ended up with 2goals led by the Nigeria team and you would have had your prediction of 2 goals win for the Super Eagles come to pass.

During the start of the second half, many people had predicted the Super Eagle to win by 2 goals because of their performance in the field of play to score additional goals. But since the match ended with a goal victory for the Super Eagle, it is a better result for them than a loss match.

Nah, offside is offside. I get when it's marginal and VAR takes forever but I don't think Osimhen would argue against that. Over a season all these close calls even out anyway I like to think.

Anyway, 6 more games, current one is nil-nil. Crunch time!

Havent the Angola team had a lot enough of victory over the Nigerian team in decades. This is the time for the Super Eagles to sour higher. It has not been easy for them at the start of the competition. But look how far they have gone. Who would have thought they will progress to the Semi finals after all hope were lost when they drew their first match. Most fans  concluded that they were not serious in the competition when they started missing so many goal opportunities during the knockout stages.

However, what will be will be. If it is Gods decision that the  super eagles team will win the competition then it will definitely happen. Although, it doesnt mean that other teams did not perform well. There mist always be a loser and a winner.

Why do you have this mentality? The two of them are not in competition. If they have the mentality that they are in competition, they will not be passing the ball among themselves, and that will be to the bad of the team, and their failure. Osimhen is helping the team by taking away the attention of defenders from the other attackers like Lookman to have their shot. A win for the team is a win for both players.
Ivory Coast show good fighting spirit against Mali, With just ten men, they have been able to get an equalizer in the few minutes left for the game to end to drag the game into extra time. 7 minutes extra time, we may see a late goal or see this game decided in penalties.

Mali 1 Vs 1 Ivory Coast EXTRA TIME
Even with 10 playera only Ivory Coast, impressively managed to draw the score with a beautiful team play football in the last minutes before the end of the match and brought back their chances against Mali. We all know the stress is more when the team is hosting the competition event. Mali also played very well but their mistake and what they could do and failed is scoring a second goal when they had a chance to kill all Ivory Coast hopes in this AFCON.

the extra time now will be difficult for both teams to score, I believe that all players are already exhausted already and both going to try securing their result and not receiving a goal, mostly will be a defensive play and we will see whose going to pass by Penalties.

The Angolians knew that their time in the tournament was over when they were drawn against the super eagles. Whatever they were showing up in that yesterday match was just as a results of the promises they got from their people back home. But the truth is super eagles deserved that winning and they needed to progress.

Mali was so devastated for the lost against Ivory Coast, after so much pressing on extra time, they conceded another die minute goal but they deserve to be because they actually missed too many chances, they were not clinical enough and even they played 11 against 10 ivory Coast still stood their ground strong.

I did be Frank the last goal by ivory Coast was a really beautiful goal but now 3 of their key players will be missing next match after 2 got red card against Mali and another getting a yellow card in addition to the previous he was having will missed the semi final against Dr Congo but I think they will win and we can call them the underdog of this year Afcon

I don’t know what I will be doing when the AFCON ends, all my attention has been focused on the tournament and I have forgotten about the EPL and champions league. The last time I was this excited about the AFCON was when we had the likes of Kanu and JJ Okacha on our team.

Congratulations to the Super Eagles. They have done their nation proud. The game against Angola was so interesting that it had me on the edge of my seat till the full-time whistle was blown. The extra time added was the longest seven minutes of my life. It would have been heartbreaking if Nigeria conceded a goal in extra time.  The goalkeeper did not really need to do so much, we have only conceded one goal in the tournament and that’s because the defenders have been superb. We might just win this tournament without the goalkeeper making any heroic saves.

Ivory Coast keep surprising everyone with each passing game. The grit this team has to fight even in situation where all odds are stacked against them is insane! They went 1-man down in the half time and I wrote them off the tie completely. When Mali scored, I thought it couldn't get any deader than that only to watch them equalize and go further to get the win. Fofana is easily their best player of this Afcon. Man has carried the team on multiple occasions — even today, two of his shots yielded the goals even though none of those goals were scored by him.

Again, I won't be surprised if Ivory Coast makes it to the Nigeria and gets to play Nigeria once again. That would be a MUST-WATCH.
