Having Victor Oshime, Saddens me to see Victor Boniface out Injured,. Having the explosive Ahmed Musa, Simon Moses and lastly Both Kelechi Iheanacho and Samuel Chukwueze gives us that edge when attacking any side.

Not impressed with the midfielder's truthfully, but we'll see how it goes most definitely. They're not what I feel like would supply and link the attackers with the defenders.
Mo Salah doesn't have same caliber of players he has with the club level at the National level, I don't expect too much from the magicians.

One player I'd love to see is Boniface and is really bad to always not see him partner with V. Osimhen. Their combination would have been bloody but injury have a way of keeping some of the best players off the game of football.
Now the work load would be on V. Osimhen alone, what if (God forbid) something happens to him just like it happened to Boniface how would the Eagles manage the striking department? I just hope they get things easy with him since he's the only number 9 we have.

Ivory Coast against Guinea Bissau
Is the pre tournament match between the host Ivory Coast who never lost an opener match since 1992, so surely they will have a bit of pressure undergoing tonight because of their fans and how they should perform. But other than than Guinea Bissau is a very humble team with much local players and lack of experience that would make their mission very hard to pass this group with top strong teams and today is their first hard test.
Well, let’s not forget that they did chocked the Gabon back in 2017 when they played again the host and managed to draw 1-1, I won’t be very surprised if they did it once again this year.

For the betting in this AFCON we starting today’s game with very low odds for the host as usual since they are very favorable to win with @1.2 for Ivory Coast to win against @21.00 for Guinea Bissau, it’s only good for high stakes to take some profits.

Ivory Coast scored their first goal just 3 minutes in the game with a long shot though Guinea Bissau also played their best to be equalized but luck was not found on their side today so they swallowed 2 goal to nothing. In the Group A now ivory Coast has gotten 3 points.

Nigeria is playing tomorrow with Equatorial Guinea by 4 pm and as for me I don't put Nigeria in my hope in football because they used to disappoint someone. Though the Opening game was interesting and let see how tomorrow will goes.

I missed the match due to my schedule but I was not expecting anything different from the outcome judging from the team history and capacity. I watched the highlight this morning and I commend the both teams especially the goal keepers for some incredible saves. It wasn't too bad but Guinea Bissau wasted some precious chances both in the first half and second half. Can't really say if the Ivory Coast goalie is too good or Guinea Bissau attackers lack some experience. The first goal was caused from error pass from the defenders and there is absolutely nothing the goal keeper could do about it. The second goal was too soft and I fault both the defenders and the goal keeper for their inefficiency.

The Nigeria vs Equatorial is a must watch match for me despite that I'm not too confident in the Nigerian squad. We actually have talented players in the squad but sadly, they are not ready to give their best to the team. The attack despite Boniface is missing, seems to be a little bit good likewise the midfield but my concern is the goal keeper. However the circumstances, I don't expect Nigeria to draw this match talk more of losing.

The only team about these three less exprected teams to win is Cape Verde who can perform and make a surprise, but seeing their last results I would say it's very hard for them to win against Ghana who also have expectations for the trophy.

I don't think the couch is ready to improve having no positive results in the last five matches is a bad record for a team like super eagle with some top league players. It is time to give another person a chance perhaps, a local couch might even be better to see how things will work out in another direction. The issue of couch aside, super eagle team entirely is playing as if nothing is on stake. No coordination and spirit of togetherness at all. This is clearly not how all of them play at their respective clubs. Iwobi particularly is the most useless player in this match.

against a team that is far below them, Nigeria actually got a bad result today, the defense and Owono's neat performance in guarding Equatorial Guinea goal meant that Nigeria had to settle for getting 1 point and put them in 3rd place for the time being, today is the first match for the teams in group A, even though they still have a lot of matches yet to be played, getting 1 point from a weak team is not a positive result, especially since Nigeria, which fielded its best squad, couldn't do much in that match, the star squad contained European players in fact, they haven't been able to integrate well on the field and this has resulted in a lot of wasted opportunities, in a few days, Nigeria will face one of the strongest teams in Africa (Ivory Coast) and that will put even more pressure on their position if they get negative results again later.

Wilfred Ndidi have always been our strength in midfield and his absence practically affected the Nigerian team both in ball possession and attacking. Alex Iwobi has his role to play but not enough this time as it would have been best if it was complimentary to that of Wilfred Ndidi.

I feel Jose Paseiro has serious jobs to do at the midfield if we must nurture the hope of going far in this competition. A draw with Equatorial Guinea is not a great result for me, worse being when we have to struggle to equalize.

The results today surely did rhyme in context to what I said concerning the super Eagles. They often times start their group stages match with low effort and goals, but it would have been worse had they not secured even a point in total.
Victor Osimhen is on point with his goal and it emphasizes his importance to both the super Eagles and his club Napoli. Alex Iwobi still lacks form and perhaps he would do better if he comes into the match as a substitute than as a starter.

I hope that José Peseiro won't regret this score even though it was a draw but for the team it's counted as a defeat. Yes, Nigeria doesn't have working midfielders and it was clear how the opponent was penetrating the team with ease, Most Nigerian players playing abroad are more of defensive midfielders than creative midfielders, I would hold my comments or criticism on the coach for now until he supervises the second game, as this is just their first game and I believe most of the errors or weak point of the team experienced in the game will be handled in their next game.
