I want you guys to do yourself a favour and visit the Ghanaian part of the internet. What you will see is that they getting the same bashing as the Nigerian Super Eagles from their own fans. Honestly, I am very surprised by the result but this should be a warning to the other teams, Cape Verde is likely to be the dark horse in this competition. In the last few years, they have improving their performance for a while. For now, I am not going to slay the Ghanaians because the Nigerian Super Eagles are worse off.

Today’s match we have my national team Algeria playing so it’s so important for me to set a bet and watch the game, these are all the matches we will witness today:

Algeria Vs Angola

Senegal is the one of the strongest contender for this cup in this competition. Or maybe Gambia need to who obviously lack defenders, midfielders, strikers, and goalkeepers made it very easy for them. I would have put the Cameroonians in this group the only difference in what they lack is midfield. And there were a lot of dangerous tackles that have been ongoing. There were some controversies in the Algeria - Angola game. I think it was the games out of the three that was play yesterday that made me ask myself about FIFA rules when  the ball hit a cross bar during penalty kick.

One thing about African teams is that they lack proper management. I feel like that's the only thing teams like Nigeria and Ghana have. Individually these teams have relatively strong squads. I'm not saying the players are all world-class but they're okay and they should be playing better than they're currently playing.
The Nigerian coach is not good enough. It's evident from the way Nigeria plays. They don't press and they don't create chances.

Secondly, we have to understand that football has evolved. Teams no longer fear bigger teams. They come out and play as though they're equals. So don't expect your favorite teams to have it easy because they won't.
We've seen teams like Cape Verde win Ghana. Mozambique almost won Egypt but managed to get only a point. That's the competitive level of football these days.

Equatorial Guinea goalkeeper stood out in this match. Unfortunately, the Super Eagles of Nigeria had a subpar performance. It's disheartening to witness a strong team like Nigeria struggle against weaker opponents. I hope they improve as the tournament continues, but based on their current performance, my confidence is low. Nigeria played well but missed some crucial chances that proved costly. In the next match, they should learn from their mistakes and aim for a win against Ivory Coast.

The match between South Africa and Mali will catch more attention compared to other two. If I should have chance to watch any, I would definitely watch it because I believe it will be full of excitement considering how these two teams are tough playing with each other. Checking from the previous records of encounter between these teams, one can not be certain of which team will win the match. However, based on the each team recent performance, South Africa seems to have a higher chance but this is football and we can not be sure of anything until the final whistle.

Mali is one of the strongest teams in Africa especially in terms of defense. I know South Africa style of play is very aggressive and threatening but Mali defensive skills is top notch and can not be underrated. The game might either ended draw or south Africa might win with a slight margin.

If we don't fight to top that group then we're not playing for anything and it doesn't show we're going to be feared by other countries at the moment because if we top the group we have a chance of meeting a lower side to play in the round of 16. Now tell me can we beat countries that we know can top their group? Let's say Senegal or Morocco?
We did very poorly in the first game and our coach thinks that the Eagles can beat any country that comes their way if the Super Eagles played the way they played against Equatorial Guinea.
We need to beat the host nation to show how prepared we are and to show that those chances we missed can be converted in that encounter against the host nation, we beat Ivory Coast and Bissau won't be a problem.

The super Eagle team are lucky to find their selves in a group where the teams aren't that tough except for Ivory Coast, and Nigeria team itself, unlike bellow groups where they have stronger teams, group E Tunisia and Mali group, Group C Senegal and Cameroon, and that of group B Egypt and Ghana, so their chances of qualifying from the group stage game is on the high side, and badly for them, they will come out second as Ivory already topping the group with 3 points and most likely will win their second round game against Nigeria come 18th of January, judging from the current performance of both teams and head to head meetings.

He( equatorial guinea keeper) was give the man of the match and he deserved it, he made so many saves which truncated all the efforts made by the super eagles to getting another goal which would have kept the eagles ahead of the equatorial guinea team, it was expected that the super eagles won that game without much stress because they were looking much superior to the equatorial guinea team and they had more star players than the guinea team does have. We hope the eagles qualify without hitches because they have even tougher teams as compared to their first team they did encountered.

They both have a point to share and a goal each so both team are equals currently let's see what will be of both teams after their second game If they will still maintain same points and goals or one above the other.

When I see people talking about the Super Eagles as if they were expected to do more than they can, I just shake my head and talk of something else, because as I have known for long, the super Eagles ain't super about anything mostly when it concerns international competition and even with the least team possible.
I don't know why their pattern of play for decades can't be changed or the right players allowed to play.

They drew in the first leg, and if they do same or loose in the second, that's when they begin to put on their best display. Perhaps it's the fear of injury that makes them play this way, but the coach has got to do something about the midfielders. A creative one who can dribble and score from set pieces should be the best option and nothing else.

one of the negative things that has happened a lot in African competitions is the absence of many goals in games, yesterday there were 3 games, and in one game there were 3 goals and in the remaining 2 games there were 2 goals in each game, that is, only yesterday there were 7 goals. It's an acceptable number, but we could see more goals. but in exchange for not seeing many goals we are seeing more balance in games involving teams considered strong against teams considered weak. Maybe that's why we're seeing a lot of draws involving big teams. honestly, I have no idea who will be the winner of AFCON 2023. with so many great teams performing at their peak and having results that even put them in a delicate position

to the point where we wonder if they will really be able to move on to another phase, it is very difficult to predict which of the teams has the greatest chance of winning AFCON 2023. yesterday Cameroon and Algeria, which could also be seen as strong teams, drew their games and were draws. against teams that are not strong, making it very unpredictable who will win in this AFCON 2023. currently Tunisia is playing against Namibia, we will see how Tunisia will do if they can win, or if they will also have a draw or they can also lose. One thing is clear to me: predicting these AFCON 2023 games is very difficult, to avoid losing money, I'm not betting on this tournament

Truly Equitorian Guinea goalkeeper deserve the man of the match award based on his brilliant saves which helped the team to secure a well deserve draw against the mighty Super Eagle, I think the outcome of matches played so far  in this AFCON indicated that their is no longer underdogs and countries shouldn't be underated again, presently Tunisia is having a tough match against a lowly rated Namibia though still goalless at halftime, who would ever think Tunisia with their pedigree in African football wouldn't have score a goal before halftime and find it difficult to break a well determine Namibian side, Probably when the second matches in the group stages started for all the countries there might be more improvement as well as more goals scoring.

Another proof that this tournament is loaded with surprises. I raised this concern the other day that the way the competition was going is pointing to the fact that an unexpected team will lift the trophy. It is becoming clearer with this match. Namibia humiliating powerful Tunisia is just too much to take in one day.

Indeed it was a fantastic match with lots of captivating display from both sides. Lloyd Junior Kazapua, the Namibia keeper is definitely the man of the match, he saved the day else Tunisia would have cruised to victory tonight. The 89th minutes header from Hotto was beyond saving and well deserving of a winning goal. Namibia really surprised me when I expected them to be terrified by the mere thought of facing a strong side like Tunisia.

Of course, we can not beat the likes of those teams you mention and in fact, as it stands now there is no any team Nigeria can confidently beat in this tournament with the type of performance displayed in the first match. I see no team weaker than Equatorial Guinea in other groups and their draw with super eagle justified that we have clueless couch. Except miracle happens, let not dream of beating Ivory Coast, we should just assume that Nigeria has a point in the two matches play so far. Thought I am the only one observing this. For quite some time African matches have been boring to watch due to this lack of goals. What's surprising me with this situation is how most of the teams defense are not even solid with a very average goal keeper and yet no much goals are being scored. I later realize that we have no well known strikers in the continent and the few available are not serious or ready to give their best to their fatherland. Some disappointment are in deed a blessing because it becomes easy to even predict the score of the games since the goal range is always between 1-3 goals.

African Football generally lacks proper management from the head and when the head is bad it sure affects the whole body. Look at a team like Nigeria who have one of the formidable teams in Africa yet check their recent matches and see how they struggle. This is because the coach isn’t standard and doesn’t have a plan or an idea on how to build with these stars. That’s pretty bad and real crazy and I think it’s quite worrisome especially for Nigeria football lovers that their team aren’t progressing fine.

 And the fact that no one is seen as a big dog in football is one thing that should make this Nigeria team quite strong and quality but rather they’re chickening out of matches and not behaving like the Super Eagles they’re called. Well maybe they've now understood what they're in for and would sit up in their next fixture, let's see how it goes.

I’m impressed with how much interest Africans, Nigeria in particular are showing in the AFCON. In the last couple of years, there has been a drop in the interest in local games and national competitions. I was starting to get impressed by your analysis about how the 2024 AFCON is playing out with the tantalizing surprises the smaller teams giving us not until to the end part of the analysis of which i strongly disagree. as it stands in the various groups Nigeria has 1 point after a 1-1 draw in the match against Equatorial Guinea meanwhile Ghana who played against Cape Verde lost in that match which ended 1-2 in favour of Cape Verde. Ghana is without a single point as at the time am writing this whereas Nigeria has 1 points to start with in their group. so i wonder how the Nigeria super eagles are worst of to their West African counterpart Ghana. except you are implying that Zero is now bigger than 1.

It is all about both managerial experience and money, I believe. We do not see all that many managers coming out of African continent that becomes great, it is just not getting to Europe level, but that is not special, because we do not see many north American or Asian neither, Europe usually hires either European ones, or at worst case Latin American ones.

The few African ones that are good, end up getting paid a lot of money by European clubs and get hired from there as well. So that means, African national teams do not have that much pool to choose from and not enough money to hire someone great neither. Even Brazil is having manager troubles, so it is not really weird, these days it is not really that easy to find someone decent for cheap.

AFCON is majorly full of surprises and in African football any team could give the bigger team headache on the pitch of play. As we saw the 1 goal a piece draw played by Super Eagles real crazy, unfortunately the Black Stars of Ghana fell to a 2-1 defeat by Cape Verde and that’s quite crazy. Well I'm fully aware that the upcoming fixtures would be filled with more suprises and I can't wait to see how it unfolds.

 These results makes both team looks small and really shapeless but let’s see how their subsequent matches plays out. With this result, I think Nigeria is more better than Ghana and could offer something in this competition than Ghana. But I believe both teams will pick form and get serious when they realize the competition has kicked off already.
