Inter Milan have gotten so bad that even Fluminese will humiliate them this way. If not that this goal by Ignacio was disallowed as offside, Inter Milan would have been losing by two goals to nil even before half time. I noticed that since the disappointing champions league finals, Inter Milan have been very terrible and I keep wondering what the cause could be. They lost the finals but that was not the end of the world, they can't continue to morn it forever. I'm not even seeing any motivation that shows they are going to win tonight.

They lost the finals and their coach who understands them better and has built the team for some quite some years. Inter is playing as if they don't have a striker because they cannot create chances in order for them to find the back of the net. Inter should be happy that the second goal was an offside, if not they would have find it difficult to equalize the two goals in the second half.

However Fluminense shouldn't be underestimated because any club that can make it to the round of 16 can surprise us. I hope that Inter can put themselves back in the game in the second half by equalizing the goal.

You are right about your observation that after the deadlock they had against PSG in the Champions League finals, Inter Milan have not really been playing with that force they use to play with again. When they played draw against Monterrey in the first leg of their group match in the FIFA Club world cup, i just felt like Inter Milan have really lost that agility, they are not as they used to be anymore. In their second leg they were losing against Urawa Red Diamonds before they came from behind and won, now they are losing Fluminense how possible will it be for them to overturn the result before full time. They are not even putting much effort to equalize the score. If Fluminense keeps the scoreline till around 70th minute they might end up sending Inter Milan packing out of the Club world cup.

Inter are a big disappointment so far to be honest. They conceded an early goal and nearly the 2nd one was coming if it wasn't disallowed. I didn't expect them to have this big difficulties.

It is so difficult to prepare a multi with 2-3 matches which can win for this tournament. We are still witnessing very surprising scores. There are still another 45 minutes maybe but we will see.

But I guess Manchester City wouldn't mess up this much against Al-Hilal tonight.

This match has not been that great for Inter Milan and we can see Fluminense already taking the lead even before the end of the first half. We are already on the 60th+ minutes and the match is still 1-0. Inter Milan are putting in their best courage in this match but it seems that Fluminense defense is really putting a hardwork here to maintain the lead. No doubt that Inter Milan needs an overhaul of their squad because they shouldn’t be battling with this team to win the match seeing how dominant they are in the European competition. And for the Man City and Al Hilal match, I think the SPL club cannot be underestimated, remember when Al Hilal held Real Madrid to a draw in the group stage, so Man City should not underestimate Al Hilal's strength because usually clubs like this will provide surprises.

Al Hilal is a very strong team from the Saudi League but can we actually see similar thing that happened between them and Real Madrid to also happen against Manchester City? I don't think so because Manchester City is also working hard to correct their flaws of last season games which means that they are looking forward to winning Al Hilal and advance to the next stages. Besides the draw Real Madrid played against Al Hilal was basically because it was their first game after the league games ended so they hadn't really gotten their fitness but after subsequent games they were able to make good improvements and Manchester City have already been performing awesomely in the Club world Cup games, Al Hilal cannot outsmart Manchester City.

I agree — comparing Al Hilal’s draw with Real Madrid to their upcoming clash with City doesn’t really hold up. Madrid looked unprepared in that game, while City are already in full swing and clearly mean business. Guardiola had a rare chance to reset and fine-tune the squad, and it’s paying off. Personally, I don’t see any surprises coming in today’s match. Al Hilal have ambition, sure, but I think City’s quality will shine through. They’re just operating on a different level right now.

And yet they lost. Clearly there is something wrong with Inter but it's not now, it's been like that for a while now. Inzaghi chose Saudi Arabia's money, and I can understand that, but choosing Chivu as a new manager makes little sense. He did a great job with Parma but it was only 6 months. He barely has any experience. Thiago Motta has way more experience than him and yet he completely ruined Juventus' season. I'm curious to see what is going to happen in the incoming months, Chivu will have to manage a huge amount of pressure.

Inter Milan finally disappointed. When I joined the match few minutes it started, and find out that Inter Milan had conceded an early goal, I felt the same way as you. I told myself that Inter Milan were going to win despite the early goal lead by fluminense. I went straight to my betting site, to play inter Milan again to win, because I knew their odd might had increased since they had conceded already. But I found out the odd wasn't much. It was about 2.55 to come from behind and win. So I had to pause and watch the match for few minutes. What I saw fluminense playing Inter Milan, got me disappointed and I refrained from placing that bet. I said let me just watch and see inter Milan come from behind and win. I think inter Milan not getting a win is really surprising, before the match started, I was just so confident in inter Milan to get a win, but immediately the first half ended, and they couldn’t score, I had the feelings that inter Milan will find it difficult to score in the second half of the match because Fluminense will want to defend the one goal which they had, and that was just what happened in the match, which at the ended Fluminense scored another goal which made it 2-0.

Seriously it’s really a embarrassing moment for inter Milan, they disappointed people, because everyone had confidence in them to win today, even after conceding in the early minutes of the match, people were still confident in inter Milan to get a win, but they disappointed everyone. You were also confident in inter Milan to get a win, but at the end, they couldn’t win.

Looking at the current time although there is hope but it seems to be a little difficult because Bayern remains one of the clubs that is quite strong especially for now in the remaining time of only 10 minutes of normal time and an aggregate of 2 goals that must be pursued then this could be a difficult mission for Flamengo.

They are improving their attacking quality at the moment but Bayern are clearly aware that they just need to keep pace and maintain the current conditions to keep the situation favorable for them.

The second half really provided an interesting treat especially when the match was heading towards the end but it seemed that Bayern were much more able to minimize the risks where they did not show panic even though in some conditions it was seen that Flamengo tried their best but the difference in the quality of players and mentality even though Flamengo was also filled with great players and good mentality but Bayern were much better in this regard.

A quarter final with Bayern against PSG could be a treat and it's one worth waiting for.

I was expecting this same dull and weak performance from Inter and they made the job easy for Fluminense to pass through their defense, speaking about defense... Inter Milan are terrible in that department and they can't even hide it from their opponent. This encounter would have produce more than the 2 goals we saw only if the Fluminense players were a bit clinical in front of goal, they threw many of their chances away and they should also improve because if they come against club like Manchester City which will definitely happen, I don't think they would find it easy to move the ball from the opposition half and to their own half.
I think Inter Milan are going to find it hard to play against some teams in the Serie A next season, the manager need to make some changes because the team is gradually going down in terms of performance and if care isn't taken they might finish outside the top 4 next season.
We know how the Citizens are handling every game, no mercy only go out there and get the required 3pt, every ball Man City touches end up in the back of the net, they are becoming very fast for their opponent to stop them and I'm expecting 4-5 goals in their game against Al Hilal.

I don’t even know how to categorize Inter Milan right now, their performance since they lost in the Champions League final has completely changed, they are not playing well anymore if not they are the favorites to win today against Fluminese, but they conceded early goal and despite their effort to dominate the game, they failed to score a single goal and Fluminese double the lead in the added time when Inter were struggling to get a draw that will lead the game to the extra time.

Cristian Chivu actually started really poor, he is expected to better than this because the fans are expecting much from him. However, he should make some adjustments in the team before it will too late since the transfer window is open so that they can compete in the Serie A better next season.

Barcelona could have done better in that semifinal but was just unlucky. Fluminense got a historic win but if Man City beats Al hilal i dont see a way for Fluminense to beat Man City. Man City currently with all the new signings and how good they are playing can even win the entire thing. Al Hilal on the other hand plays solid but i dont think they can win this game.

In the first half, Jhon Arias' shot attempt and Samuel Xavier's rebound that almost resulted in a goal showed Fluminense's offensive effectiveness. In the second half, Fluminense achieved a 2-0 score with goals from German Cano and Hercules and advanced to the quarterfinals.

Inter had already been showing an out-of-form display throughout the tournament and could not show much resistance against an organized Fluminense in this match. So I think Fluminense analyzed Inter in the Champions League well and worked accordingly, and the lessons they studied worked on the field.

Fluminense surprisingly won their Club World Cup round of 16 match against the 2024-25 Champions League runners-up, Inter. Fluminense won 0-2 against Inter despite being under pressure throughout the match. Inter could not do much despite trying to score, but in the end Fluminense were the team that managed to continue their journey to the quarter-finals.

The next two out of three matches are very interesting, especially Manchester City vs Al-Hilal and Juventus vs Real Madrid. Manchester City and Real Madrid are the two favorites that I think can secure their victory in the round of 16, but Al-Hilal and Juventus are not to be underestimated at all. But anyway, I hope each team plays seriously later so that the game is not boring.

Here you were thinking it was weird.

Fluminense might not be playing in one of those big leagues we watch or compete in some of the top international competitions as one of the elite teams or even have some of the big names in football but, we shouldn’t forget the quality that comes out of Brazil. You would see that and more on the pitch and with a manager that is able to study the game and patterns to the play, they would do so well.

Inter Milan lost the game 2-0, can we say they lost the game because they underrated their opponent? They were really putting in that much pressure to see themselves equalising and doing a comeback in this game. I must commend Fluminense for their great defense in this game and not also relenting when their is a counter attack to convert into a goal.

Truly in this match, Inter Milan has really made a lot of people lost hope in them once more after the shameless defeat to PSG in the champions league finals. This clearly shows once again that they were never the favourite in the final match and PSG outplayed and won the trophy as deserving of them. They need to work on their squad for next season, they cannot continue like this when the new season begins.
