DirectBet is pleased to present...... Clam ...
Nice! Edited above: is used at exactly one web site two web sites.
clam is used at 4 gambling sites now fortunejack.com just-dice.com bitdice.com Casino.DirectBet.eu I'm just counting popular sites. Maybe I'm wrong about those other ones. If they're also popular that would be interesting to know. i corrected last post 5 sites. fortunejack is big. 500,000btc wagered total they use 10 coins there bitdice is big IMO Great stuff, thanks for the info. Looks like CLAMs are indeed becoming more widely used.

I really think sport betting with CLAM would be a hit.
We have gambled P2P a fair bit in JD playing sports with CLAMs.
I'm sure it would be worth it.

Yes we're aware that the provably fair method can be improved and have already passed a similar suggestion to the games provider. They are looking into improving it in the future.
If they're going to change it, maybe you can suggest that they use a method similar to any of the big dice sites, whether there are long-lasting pairs of seeds, and a per-user nonce. That way the user doesn't have the overhead of having to make a note of the seed hash every hand they play. Each hand is derived from a hash of (server_seed, client_seed, nonce) where nonce is incremented each time the player plays a hand. Then the user can play 100 hands, ask for a change of seeds, at which point the old seed is revealed and he can verify all 100 hands at once without having to input 100 pieces of data. cf. Prime Dice, BitDice, PRCdice, Just-Dice, SafeDice, etc. - they all use the same scheme.

Thanks for your feedback dooglus.
One more: I appear to be earning 2 DirectBet Coins for every CLAM I bet. When I try to gamble with them, I am told: Sorry : Games can not be played with DirectBet Coins. Please select another coin. Why would that be? Seems to be that since DirectBet Coins can be exchanged for BTC there's no reason not to let people gamble with them. People will likely gamble and lose their DirectBet coins, reducing the amount of BTC you ever have to give up in rakeback.

We know an upper bound on it (the amount of clams deposited in the initial distribution). That may be large, but it's finite and in theory, it was expected to be hit sooner or later. Everyone is fretting about uncertainty and whatnot, if someone digs up all the CLAMS, that removes uncertainty about how many are left to be dug.
I never expected the actual limit to be hit and maybe not even close to it. People don't necessarily keep spent private keys around. But I certainly always expected a hell of a lot more than the current 1/2 million to be dug up. At least a few million if not eventually 10 million or more. I agree with you that the more that are dug up now the fewer will be dug up later. I also think that the market got ahead of itself valuing CLAMs at >1 USD. That would make CLAMs a top 10 coin based on its likely supply and that doesn't make sense for a fork coin with some tweaks (even if the tweaks are generally meritorious) that it is used at exactly one web site two web sites. Supply being dug up in response to price increases is exactly what is supposed to happen with this coin. Anyone who claims otherwise didn't understand the designEDIT: Right after I posted, directbet announced support, so two web sites now! I think CLAM deserve to be at least in the TOP 25. Honest developers, great betting and casino services, investors liking it for the staking returns... It could find its own nice niche. I mean, 2 million $ marketcap to be in the top 25 actually ? It's really nothing.

Oh, it s gonna go much, much lower. There s no point buying until the digger s out of the picture, unless you are day trader. Even in that case, the price s been going only one way for weeks.

Apparently that happened to the directbet announcement here yesterday too. Posts announcing services accepting CLAM is on-topic for this thread. Why are they being deleted? Probably MPrep fucking up. I've had issues with him in the past as well fucking up general conversations. I've made complaints as well in the past. It maybe worth opening a thread in the Meta section.

I'm happy to see new and old services supporting CLAM, but apparently the problem is that advertising spam is not allowed and so the service announcements are being deleted.

The digger has shown that false and I doubt he'll be the last one. At the current price with 5 million dug up that's a 3.5 million market cap which seems fair to me. Just staking alone adds 500k coin per year too.

Well part of that is now the Bitcoin price is really showing a rally so the coin values are dropping all across the boards, its beneficial that in a sense the market will keep providing cheap coins for a bit longer.

I've been saying for a long time that the stakes are the most dangerous thing to CLAMs long term, but short term it is needed in order to protect the network from large diggers with the intentions of attacking our network.
We need to be considering turning those stakes wayyyy down. If we could even be at 0 stake reward sometime in the future.... I think that would be best price way.
Stake halfings might be the way to go.
I've never been a fan of limitless coins (kinda like what DOGE did). I was aware of this since before I bought CLAM though of course.
