I've received a token in my private messages, but have not done anything since. Is it too late to claim my stake?
Not to be the bearer of bad news, but you will have to redeem after launch and there is a 25% penalty for being late. At least, I'm pretty sure that's the case anyway. because that's how marxism egalitarism works  |

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

The process isn't clear yet but the plan is to open redemption again for a period of 3 months after launch. |

god i cant wait to detach from nxt...
BTC doesn't look much better -- it's behaving like a random altcoin/blipcoin this year. NEM should treat all of these other "top coins" (including bitcoin) as vulnerable to being displaced by something better and new: great opportunity for NEM. People are tired of the same ol' same ol' |

I have been running the Nem software successfully for a while now, and wondered - what does the 'Remote Harvesting' do?
- Harvesting itself requires your private key (obviously, to sign blocks)
- We wanted a way to harvest on a remote node in a secure manner
- (cpt. obvious mode) It would be quite unwise to send your key to some third party :>
- In order to do that (harvest on some remote node) you must "activate remote harvesting"
- Then you can setup some remote node in settings, and start remote harvesting on that node (ofc most public nodes won't let you do that)
Between 4 and 5 you need to wait for 1440 blocks before it will become active. There's also great technical analysis made by rigel: https://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?topic=2652.msg8904#msg8904I seriously think that "remote harvesting" should be renamed "proxy harvesting" or "phantom harvesting". That is a more correct description. You are actually using a phantom or a proxy account to harvest. You are not doing it from "remote" |
