I've been scanning through the AM API interface and I'm getting the impression that it might be possible to code something so that I can throttle GPU clocks to control them at certain temperatures...

I'm wondering if I can keep all GPUs to stay under 70C, while getting the power up to 90% and Core Clock up to +50. Obviously then each GPU will have different power/core values...

Would this be possible? Thanks!

Unless i'm missing something here, can't you do all that via MSI Afterburner?   AM does have Remote Server integration, but Remote Server does not have temperature control.

Yes, and currently that's how it is managed - except it's all manual process.

My house temperature fluctuates quite a bit depending on the weather outside (both temperature and wind) so in order to keep the rigs at optimal running condition, I have to tinker GPU parameters often. MSI Afterburner integration helps a lot since I can do all this on my main PC, but I'm looking for the next level automation... Smiley

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

hi,
im getting this issue im not able to mine..
[2018-01-30 10:39:17] API open locally in full access mode on port 4068
[2018-01-30 10:39:47] ...retry after 30 seconds

i can only mine equahash but when neoscript or ccminer comes i see this msg,
please help me...

does it happen with all ccminer algos? if using profit miner, go edit profit profile to only enable ccMiner, then at Miner's tab on main window, right click miner -> Diagnostics...

This would give a more detailed output as to where the mining process encountered the error, post it here (feel free to edit out your username/wallet address) so ppl can help pinpoint the issue.
yes, every miner same issue except equahash,
this is what i got in diagnostics report,
sir please help me, really need help..

Not an expert on this but seems you are having kind of timeout issue, are you using the online services/profit switching settings? as well as latest AwesomeMiner v4.4?

Cause the default profit switching port is defined as 17012 for algo switching, the neoscrypt pool on MPH is old and I think only has FTC, which makes it far less profitable than other coins in the same algo as well at least on paper. also make sure no firewall is blocking ccMiner

Hi all, I am new here and I am looking for some kind and usefull real advice and setting for my first rig: rig has 8 1080ti ..

First of all, do i need to install cuda 9.1 drivers and then also normal nvidia driver? or better to install and use only the latest nvidia driver?

Secondly and more important, I would like to understand what is better and more profitable way with my RIG.
For example, what mining software are the best for each coin? and wich algo is good to mine and wich ones isn't good for nvidia?
THan, I am wrong to think that every coin has a different best mining software to use?

Then, I am trying to use the profit switching on some multipool.. i notice that if i use "current" instead "24 h" profitability, it starts to stop and start often.. it doesn't appear too slow but i am not able to understand if it is not the right way to follow..

If i continue to update the values on multipools, i see prices grow and decrease.. when i see 100$ i stop the miner and start so it start to mine the 100$ coin.. but it is for some minutes and it drops often at 20$.. from "big earn" to "big loss"..
It means that I did not configure very well.. that's why I am here and asking for a kind help...

Thank you very much..

Just the driver, you don't need the SDK unless you are building from the source code yourself. start off using the builtin miner softwares, for Nvidia, it really is just Claymore dual for Eth, DSTM for Equihash, XMRig for Cryptonight, ccMiner tpruvot for the rest and stay away from customized softwares until you get the hang of how mining works with AM.

If you are hopping between algo every so often, make sure you do the following:
1. Benchmark and Benchmark and Benchmark the enabled algos, not sure what you mean by "update the values on multipools" but don't fiddle with the benchmarked hashrates, and don't use the default hashrates, you need to benchmark your rig to get proper profit estimation.

start off with one of the builtin online services to just make things simple, go with NH or MPH if u want eth pool since the others don't do eth. then adjust your switching interval, threshold in  Options -> Profit Switching to your liking such that the earnings are appearing more consistent and ease out the occassional spikes you'd like to avoid.

once you get the above sorted, feel free to add more pools to work.

Could we have more coin listed in AM so we may have good view the estimate profit?
I hope that all coin that listed in Coinmarketcap can be shown in mining coin and delete those not use

When one tweaks the profit option for Time and Percentages does Time stand for the minimum amount of time AM will allow the rig to stay on its last job (whatever pool/algo it was on) What happens after the time lapses? it will redirect ONLY if there is something offering a profit greater than the %percentage that is set?

I dont fully follow when some of the posts talk about setting the values so that your rig doesnt jump around too often but yet doesnt miss out on the peaks?

If I understood how it worked a little more I could possibly run some tests with that idea in mind to see whats best.

The more I read the more I retain (although its in small bits)

Thanks for your help so far gents

For the red highlight line, is it something you edited out manually? if not, then it seems your anti-virus exclusion isn't set

Also, try out the 17xxx port instead, if you didn't set hub worker in your MPH page, maybe it is causing config conflict. easiest way to try is to mine on another pool like zpool, just to make sure it is not the miner software itself but between the miner software and pool.

Hi Folks

I got a question about benchmarks in AwesomeMiner:

I got 3 Rigs with identical GPUs. Is there any way to copy or export/import the benchmark results from an existing benchmark when i had installed the full software suite from a test run? ?

For Example:
Rig1: Install full software, run Benchmark over all GPUs.
Now I switched to Remote Agent:
Did run the benchmark for 1 GPU. As all 4 GPUs are the same, can i copy / reuse the benchmarks and if so, how?

As i have multiple rigs available (mostly the identical setup within the Rig), is there any way to enter the benchmark results by hand when adding it as a remote profit miner?

Thanks in advance!

(Note for the former post: I tried to add remote miner, not a remote profit miner, this is working now without any issues)

I've never encouraged this error before:
Code:
Connection aborted by the remote computer.

I relocated S9 farm, changed the LAN subnet and added all miners again to the awesomeminer, I connected to all of them (old batches) except of two (new batches), I did try everything I could find in config and properties but with 0 luck, I know I'm missing the simple config or something like that,
any help would be much appreciated

for 24 hour profitability settings, why would you not set it to 1 minute or 5 minutes?  It doesn't switch very often anyway.  The problem I have with that at least on my system is it will basically just mine bitcore forever.

From my experience you need to be careful when selecting pools for this. AHashpool is most reliable in terms of not experiencing / showing crazy spikes, while zpool and MHP are the worst.

In my experience, ahashpool stats are totally misleding.  I deactivated it from my profit switch.

I find all the values shown by AM misleading, they simply have absolutely no relation with the reality. I tried with 3 separate test rigs and with the same settings and same GPUs one shows $100/day and the the other shows that is it making $5/day.

It seems that statistics and  profit that is shown are just random numbers.

PATRIKE, can you read it and explain why all profit values from AM are RANDOM NUMBERS ? It changes from one miner to another based on random numbers, nothing that has to do with reality or at least with the values from whattomine.com !!!

Can someone suggest a *NOOB* starting setup that will be a good example around profit mining.

I did the obvious and enabled everything and let 6 1080Ti's run for 2 days.  But with all the coin conversion costs  and pool fees, I made less than I made just mining ZEC on Flypool with the same setup.  Wasn't expecting that.

The numbers suggested the completely opposite that just simply didn't work out.

So, lets get a little more real.  What would you suggest as a starting point?

Thanks in advance,

Alas, I have the same experience. The in-built profit switching and in-built pool seems highly in-accurate. I also did better when doing only ZEC.

But aside from that, AM is great for managing multiple rigs. You just need to decide on your own where to mine and when to switch.

My two cents...

I tested for several days and it seems all random numbers, I recommend you all check with real values from the pool because it has nothing to do with any reality, only misleading values.
Or all the pools give to AM random values for statistics, or AM just calls RANDOM() function and mines based on that.

Do you know how to communicate without insulting people? Of course he is not using random() function! No developers are that stupid.

He has already explained why this is the case in previous posts within this thread. His logic to determine price is very simple and it is not random.

AM is a tool that facilitates mining. In it's default setting, it's not ideal. But it offers flexibility and you can do whatever you want with it that you cannot with other apps.

Please stop complaining about it and contribute more constructively.

If the rigs are identical and both OC settings are identical where you believe you are getting identical hashrates, then you just need to create miners that points to the same profit profile without benchmarking the rigs again. (this is for managed profit miner, I haven't yet tried just using the managed miner)

One answer, PICNIC

the computers you have are not properly configured, by no way once it is properly configured and you eliminate bad pools (eg, MPH skein with frequent spikes) you are going to get erratic difference. Once it's properly configured, expect you are not getting 24h earning fluctuation more than the 24h price swing of BTC itself

Hi guys.

Does this program support EWBF miner?
If so, is there any guide how to set it up ?
Is this program heavy on resources  ? CPU/memory/GPU

Hi guys.

Does this program support EWBF miner?

Yes, it's built in.

You don't need to set it up.  AM will set the command line correctly.  You just need to define a pool, a miner, and then tell the miner to use EWBF on that pool.  AM does all the work from there.

Not especially, no.  I run it on a simple virtual machine on one of my low-end vmware nodes.  The node has a low-end Athlon 5350 CPU.  I gave the VM two cores and 4GB of RAM.  It runs fine... runs an average of 15% CPU on that piddly VM with the resources given to it.

Are all the S9s on the same subnet as the computer that runs AM?  Are there any conflicting IPs?

Yes, you got it mostly.  The time is just the amount of time that will pass before AM re-calculates "best coin or algo" profit values from the statistics it gets from either Whattomine (if you are mining individual pools or pool groups)... or it rechecks the enabled Online Services that you have enabled on profit miners.  If you are mining individual pools or pool groups, there is also another time setting to pay attention to on the Statistics tab in the Options.  That time setting is how often AM will check Whattomine or Coinwarz for updated statistics.

I'll just requote what I wrote a few weeks (and a few pages) back:

Quote from: puwaha

Let's say you switch to mine a coin that has a 2 minute block time on say Zpool.  You mine your share, and you get a percentage of the reward for that block.  But now, you have to wait for say 10 confirmations to mature before it's sent to the exchange.  That's now 20 minutes you are waiting for the coin to mature before it gets sent to the exchange.  Now, let's say it's a mildly popular coin, and it's gets sent to the exchange... minimum 2 minutes of that coin's block time if Zpool has enough of that coin built up to make it worth their while to send to the exchange.  We are up to 22 minutes.  That transaction is going to take another 10 confirmations before the exchange makes it available to trade.  We are now up to 42 minutes.

What are the chances that your coin is worth the same amount when you started mining it until it reaches the point where it can be traded on the exchange 42 minutes later?  Not very likely.  There are thousands and thousands of miners that use auto-switching algorithms and were mining the same coin you thought was hot in that moment.  That shoots up the difficulty, and the massive dump on the exchange(s) sends the value of the coin down.

A 24 hour profitability evens out those nuances, and I would even argue that a longer period is necessary.  You want to be mining a coin that is consistently in the top spot... not in the moment.

But, this is my opinion... there are other perspectives.

A bug when miner gets disconnected from the pool.

Sometimes when pools have too many connections they disable new connections for a period of time to a specific algo. In this case AM remains stucked with the last value AM received from the mining instance of ccminer and does nothing to fix that.

I believe it would be better to show income statistics based on submitted (and also accepted shares) , instead AM not remains without any refresh to the last hash rate that was submitted by ccminer  even hours ago.

If AM waits for hours for an updated hashrate from ccminer and does not take time into consideration it is not the correct behavior. It should have a timer that checks every x seconds the received hashrate from the miner, with one minute delay when miner is started to allow all GPUs to be started and send hash rates. Like this if one pool / algo server is offline, it will change to the next most profitable algo from the list.

Did anyone tried to find a solution to this problem ?

Hi Folks.

My setup is up and running and i have 2 more questions:

Question 1:
Is it possible to extend the web interface of Awesome Miner to include windowsUptime in the overview? I have seen that it is mininal js, but i am not an expert in that. But as I can see that information ithe "summary-section" of any miner, the information is available and it shouldnt be to much hussle to modify the web page in the miner overview to show that information as well.

Question 2:
My Rigs did went offline because the miner software tried to restart several time without success, however, I have not seen a rule that is causing that entry. So where is it configured that we are trying to restart the service and stop trying after X attemps? My solution is a manual rule to restart the entire rig in case we exceed the miner software restart option threshold. But I would like to extend the current rule (if it is a rule), which is logging that we exceeded the threshold with an restart rather than creating a manual job. So, where can i find that rule?
