It's old but it is my 46 GH/s self-built FPGA.

Very nice! how are these "self-built"?

Looks very neat. Which USB hub and fan is that?

The kids arrived today:

Thanks BTCGuild and ASICMINER!

Thanks BTCGuild and ASICMINER!

What brand of USB hub is that and the fan?

BTW is the fan quiet?

I'm building the Adafruit PiMiner and looking for compatible USB hubs and a quiet fan for my setup.

The Arctic Breeze fans are surprisingly quiet and move a lot of air.

If you're building a large rig and you DON"T have a bag of at least 1,000 zipties, you're doing it wrong.

So true lol. I keep a stock pile of Zip ties around in case I get in the mood to do a little rearranging/house cleaning. I think every GPU in my farm has at least 2-3 zip ties each in some shape, form, or fashion.
Forget zip ties...

If this doesn't solve it, than nothing will.
 Grin

Tape is surely better for some purposes. Ever tried to build a bridge spanning 10 meters with zip ties? (See myth busters for the tape bridge).

Finally moved my operation to an offsite location on Sunday with .05 kwh power. Not finished yet, but it's a lot cooler at my house!

I tuned my 4 USB Block Erupter Rig Grin

This maybe overkill but I just like to built stuff from scrap parts.

My hub is about 5 years old, here is a link to the recent version available. It's a dutch website...

I lost my original powersupply that came with the usb-hub, now I use this (universal) power supply 5V 5.2A with the usbhub

Here is my home site setup

Please note that those fans are 400mm diameter and that there are a total of 3 x 400mm & 1 250mm (2 exhaust and 1 x 400mms & 1 x 250mm intake)

They are commercial grad and move about 2000liters of air a min or second I cant remember which ...long story short it is rather noisy in the rig room

Each one sounds like a jet on spin up which takes about 30-40 seconds until at 100%...lolz

Also that power board is currently taking ~ 16k/w

The room itself is small ... like REALLY small Sad this is the main reason i have had to go thermonuclear with the cooling & exhaust setups)

Have been through about 10 configs but this is working for now

There is 13 rigs in this room and if you turning off the cooling system it spikes to 45 celcious in aprox 1 min and rigs start shutting down Sad

Currently its sitting on about ~ 23 cel which keeps the fans at about 50% and GPU's are set to 71 cel

IP KVM switch are a must with this many rigs ..also i can remote onto any unit anywhere in the world with a smartphone if i had one ...lolz

Air Intake is going through a 2 way grill setup that is both secure and lets air into a manifold that has 2 intake fans connected

Here is the other end of the intake

Many hours spent sitting here ...lolz

Power Board

2 x 400mm Industrial exhaust and a standard shower unit ...lolz (this is teh exhaust system)

Here is 1 of the 400mm sqaure stack shelfs that I use ..I get 4 rigs per stack

And another

And another blurry rig stack

The second last one is running 5x 7950 per rig ... 5 card rigs are ok but they are very suceptable to heat change and will shutdown or freeze

Anyways with the previous site that I have thats my 45m hash system Cheesy

A lot of blood sweat and tears and fun Cheesy

Here is my home site setup

Excellent setup! I'm currently having some challenges with my offsite space, and was looking into exhaust and intake as well. Your setup would fit the bill. Can you let me know what the specs/brand of the fans are and what you used for the ducting? I need to go above ceiling grid for my setup.

Do you have any A/C at all, or just the fans?

Just all the fans if u do it properly (it is no easy to get it working properly) u dont need A/C even if it is 35 c outside

This is one model down on the units i have but will give u an idea

http://www.hyalite.com.au/J1114/EZI-AIR-FAN-315mm-230watt-545-L_or_sec/pd.php

Just use the portable duct tubing you see in the pics is about 3$ a meter and works a treat Cheesy

Depending on the size of the room you can just move the air away for the rigs and then pick it up at the cieling or

Even better is to have either intake/exhaust 100mm ducts going to either the PSU exhaust port (this is over 50% of your heat)
or have fresh air blowing onto the GPU's ... i have had this method work for me through Aussie summer at 38-40 c

Key thing is to have intake/exhaust acceess close by .. if u can go through the roof do it ..!!!!

You are wanting min 250mm holes (u can put a 300-400mm fan on a 250mm hole with minimal loss ) I have a 2 way grate system
on the door for the intake ... it works pretty well while still providing security for the site
