Does anyone know if it is possible to make Burst wallet accessible on any device? Let's say I want to see the Burst wallet/client on another computer remotely...can I do that? I might not know much about networking, but if I could access the wallet via localhost, then it could be configured to be accessed remotely right? Sorry for asking, just wanted to know if it could be done and if its safe to do so.  Smiley

In conf file there is a line : # Hosts from which to allow http/json API requests, if enabled.

I hope its what you are looking for.

In the nxt-default.properties file located in the conf directory, all I can see is the following line of code:

Code:
# Hosts from which to allow http/json API requests, if enabled.
nxt.allowedBotHosts=127.0.0.1; localhost; [0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1];

Is that the line where I should modify it to allow connections from other devices? If so, then I would place the ip address of an specific device there, next to localhost? Am I right?  Huh

i do not have the computer with the wallet here, try with the 2 line here:

# Hosts from which to allow http/json API requests, if enabled.
nxt.allowedBotHosts=127.0.0.1; localhost; [0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1]; 192.168.0.4;

or

# Host interface on which to listen for http/json API request, default localhost only.
# Set to 0.0.0.0 to allow the API server to accept requests from all network interfaces.
nxt.apiServerHost=127.0.0.1

Thanks for your reply. I will check this out, especially the first line with the ip address of my laptop. I was thinking of placing 0.0.0.0 instead to allow connections from any device, if that is ok. If this works, I will be able to make a Burst service out of it.   Cheesy

I agree its time to change. Add staking  or something cause mining ends .....soon?

miners also get fees. Theoretically, when coins are mined they should be quite well distributed. After that most miners will find something else to mine, but then, the reward will be big for the remaining miners, so BURST will be just fine, and from there on build value as the number of BURST does not go up and up like with the inflating PoS coins.  With BURST you know that your BURST will retain their rarity and therefore also value.

If we make a mining scheme that slowly destroys BURST value, it will not be more money for the individual miner, just way more miners.

therefore i strongly advise against going PoS. Instead we should just accept fewer TBs once all coins are out. As BURST gains value due to its many different uses, more miners will join because each BURST rewarded from transactions is worth more and more.

Letting everyone know.  The Playground is currently down.

It is being migrated to a new server with better features and a new portal.

Cleaner, faster, higher security, and feature packed.

Ill let you know when it is back up.

Hi together

I am mining Burst now for some month and sometimes I read up here,
that some people do not understand why people dont mine the coin.
On my sight it is to complicate to set up for mining. If you are a normal
user like me it takes a long time to understand the coin and set it up.
Also there is only one documentation in german. I am thinking of writing
a GUI for the whole setup and get a website online for the german users
as well as the english. I do not know at the moment if anyone else sees
the problem in the setup-difficulty and if its possible to write such a
programm to make setup easy.
Any meanings for such a program?
Any meanings what should be integrated in a Burst-make-public-Website ?

Hello and welcome.

You are not the only one.  Some other coins its a breeze.  I was thinking this same thing today while I was setting up a new computer to mine.  I had issues with the DB.  So I had to redownload the entire blockchain again.  Which only took like 16 hours.   Anyways, I agree with you for a coin like this there should be an install and run.

Which I know is doable.   However this is not how it is.  Even with some other coins you still have to run command lines and setup .bat files.  And make sure you have compatible hardware.  Burst doesnt really need compatible hardware just the setup for the wallet and to download the blockchain.  run the built in plotter and mine.

This can and should be automated as it will help new users in the long run and maybe get new miners that dont want to deal with it.  If you make a gui or the alike let me know.  I would be glad to lend a hand in my spare time.  However I have loads on my plate now.

Glad you are mining. We need more in Burst.

Ok I`ve been very busy lately, and I added 0.01BTC to the capital of INCOME, however the profit still didn't grew much. We have a very bad year start in casino gambling across all casinos lately.

I am still developing the new bitcoin earning method, and I tell you folks it's not easy to earn BTC anymore. Now due to the lack of profits, I will postpone the divident payout a little bit more, sorry for inconvenience, but the profits are very small in this session. In the meantime I will work hard to create a side-income to become more self-sufficient and rely less on 3rd party income.

So stay tuned for more updates.

I just ordered 16TB more diskspace. Speedfan (with its nice s.m.a.r.t. investigation tool) reports i have a 2TB and a 3TB drive having degraded stability so i better get them out of operation bf they actually fail.

BURST chain strength grows a bit more when i get the new disks operational, i intend to add at least 8TB BURST plots from the new disks, after rearranging stuff.

This will be the first time i actually use the seagate 8TB archive drives for plots, will let you know if i run into any issues. My only bad experience with these drives are that they tend to go dead for an extended period of time, if you throw too much data (100+GB) at them too quickly ( file copy of large files on a very fast PC ) They should be fine for BURST plots i guess, as that is read only once the plotting has been done. When i'm finished i should be solo mining more than 68TB - i was expecting a faster buildup last few months, but work got super crazy so no time to do stuff.

It is great to see someone give its full support to the BURST network. 68TB is a ton of space for the mining operation, but it does generate a huge sum of BURST. I am very curious of what will happen to BURST once all the coins are mined, and maybe once they are completely mined the price will rise. Just my thoughts.  Grin

Seams we have a winner ... (at least for a period of 240 blocks)

... guess not only pinballdude ... but all burst enthusiasts ... should add some more TB to network!

Grin

Would guess everyone would gain transaction fees for transactions.  That is my thought anyways.

Who all is a winner and what program is that?

Seams we have a winner ... (at least for a period of 240 blocks)

... guess not only pinballdude ... but all burst enthusiasts ... should add some more TB to network!
