I got it, I'll tell you when it's fixed.

Edit: It's fixed now. You have to install the new version...

https://github.com/dawallet/burstwindowswallet
https://sourceforge.net/projects/burstwindowswallet/

Some people still get a java exception. It happend to me with a new Win10 installation and newest Java. With the latest update you can plot and mine again even without Java. Only the local wallet doesn't work for them for now...

If anyone is curious and want to check on who I may be. Please refer to the user name on Bitcointalk.org: Lenore.
Have fun and hope to see you at the Playground at launch.

Our Theory
Burst needs movement to increase its price.  It needs a way to move from user to user.  We believe that HDD mining is going to change the way coins are mined.  It already has in some ways.  BTC and other coins could only be mined efficiently using ASICs or high end GPUs.  Most people can not afford to purchase let alone run these mining rigs because of the cost of electricity.  Anyone can mine using there HDD.  It doesn’t matter of its only 1GB or 10,000 GBs of storage.  Anyone can mine using POC Proof of Capacity with something you already own.  As long as you computer is turned on and the miner is running.  Your gaining coins.  Lets get this coin moving.  Lets stimulate the BURST community.  Gain more followers.

Movement = Burst Excitement = Price Increase = More Excitement = Movement
Rinse and repeat.

BURST Playground Asset Owners and BURST Coin Flow.

Each asset holder will receive 25% of all weekly earnings passed threw the Playground.
Another 50% of all weekly earnings will be put into investments for the asset holders.  These investments will pay out all investment returns to the investors.  House takes no return on investments.
Investments will consist of lending with return interest, swings in market value on BTC, ETH, and XMR. And various other investments.
The other 25% will be issued to the house to be distributed to Admins, Mods, Bankroll for future wining payouts, and special winnings.

Additionally, Burst and Burst Credits will be able to be puchased threw the forum using BTC, XMR, and ETH.  As this gives people without BURST the opprotunity to buy into BURST and stimulate BURST using other currencies.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

The Playground will launch January 1st 2016.

ROI would take forever, but with the present development of the size of SSDs, I guess some portions of SSDs will be used for plots in the near future. Have anyone checked what would be the bottle-neck mining on such discs?

And, yes, this is partly an add  Tongue I've got a thread selling up to 2TB Samsung SSDs in Computer Hardware. Wish I could afford one myself just to do some benchmarking  Smiley

Should be the same.   Just the cost of the drives would be what is different.

The cheaper the drive more profit you make.

After ROI its all profit especially if your pc is on all the time anyways.

Oh just my 2 cents here but if your going to use any SSD for mining BURST make sure they are around the price point of an HDD.

$525 for 3TB is roughly around 17 cents a gig.  You can get drives for almost half that.

Unless you have another use for these drives I wouldnt spend the money for just mining BURST.  would take you much longer to hit the ROI.

Thats just me.  You can pick up anywhere between 4-6 TB of space for that much on Amazon HHD.  Just for mining burst they arent worth it.  Price per GB anyways for the job it has to do.

I dont understand what you are saying.

I do beleieve that burst could be mined POC style without the large amount of storage being used.  But thay gives us our difficulty.

I am curious as to how a coin would do if it was POC style like BURST but only need say 1GB of space and have a set difficulty up until there are a certain amount of miners and then the difficulty would be dependant on the user support instead of hdd space used or hashrate.  The blocks would be issued by a single miner and confirmed by all miners mining on that blockchain.  Say a block was issued every 30 seconds by a random miner and all miners mining receive transaction fees and have the same chance as everyone else.  As users increase have a variable block generation time dependant on how many miners there are on the network.  Would really be POC would it but more of POU proof of user or POM proof of miner.

Sorry random thought.  Sorry took a breack from working on the Playground.

Anyways, burst is awesome and im in for life.  May still dabble with other coins but im in burst permanately.

Edited because: I cant spell

Thanks for the answers, simply i think that we should better ways to use hard drivers than simply writing unnusable data, for example a hd cloud space rental or something similar

I agree.  I do like HDD mining love it acually.  But I do have to say I could find better uses for the space.

I was thinking of only plotting chunks at a time.   Like 50GB chunks.  So as i need space just delete a chunk of the plot.

If your just a typical home user.  Even 2TB is more then on needs.  Unless you rip tons of movies and or download hundred and hundreds of mp3s.

But the typical user really wont ever utilize anything over 2TB.   Atleast i never have.

i am just figuring out some technical stuff of the burst protocol and think it is possible to integrate a blockchain driven chat system.
before i start to code a proof of concept i would like to ask if 1 burst per chat message sounds reasonable.
not sure how long it takes to finish a first version but i aim for about 4 weeks.

Awesome!

Regarding the fee, could you even make it any lower given the protocol?

the fee is set by burst itself for sending a message. the chat would monitor the chatroom creators burst address for unconfirmed transactions and show them as soon as soon it is broadcasted and seen.
everything is planned to be based on api calls to the wallet.
if a new cheaper tx type would be introduced the price for a message could be lower.

We have dropped satoshidice, or atleast until they explain their latest errors. I feel they have turned a scam, and can pull their exit scam anytime, so until they come up with a good explanation for their latest errors and missing coins we wont invest there.

I have already removed all bitcoins from there, SUCCESFULLY, and found another good casino:  https://betking.io  , second biggest after SD

We will use that from now on, it is pretty easy to use and more reputable nowadays, so if you are a gambler, please support them.

The money is already invested there the entire 1.05 BTC + another 0.2BTC I added from the altcoin trading account to make it more profitable. I set the investment to 1 Kelly, let's see how well it will perform, i will measure it every day Smiley

So let's revive INCOME asset!

https://block.burstcoin.info/as.php?as=11188744773544606055

I've been investing in betking.io for about 6 weeks months now.  I'm at about 2% profit currently.  It seems decent but the profits dont seem to be coming very fast, so I've been thinking about whether tolook for something else.  Anyone have an analysis of which are the most profitable casinos?

By the way, at 1 Kelly on betking.io you arent going to make any money (or lose any).  Like, at ALL.  Almost everyone quickly learns that you need to set it to 10 to have it do anything, so most of the money there is risked at 10x.  As a result, all the people who are at '10x' are actually at slightly more than 1x, and the noobs who are at lower risk levels are actually risking and gainingalmost nothing.  So your 1x bet is goign to essentially sit there unchanged forever.  You need to change it to 10 to get anything out of it.

Youre lucky that you missed the 30 BTC loss from yesterday.  I went from up 3% after ~6 weeks to up 2% from that one bet. Sad

Ok i`ve set it to 5 kelly, it seems more reasonable, we already made 16k satoshi, with 5 it will be 5x faster. The current % share is about the same as on SD, there we had 0.024% so i`ll test it this way for a few days, and if its ok then i`ll set it to 10 kelly.

I think betking is the best one at the moment, SD had 1.90 edge and only 50% was paid out to investors, betking has 1% edge and takes 25% comission so thats a little bit less, however betking has the option for 10x kelly, and it has a larger volume these days, so I`d stick with that.

SD has become very shady these days, I fear they can go scam anyday, it was rumors that the site was sold, so whatever positive reputation you see from previous owners, might not be there for the new owners. Plus there was some glitch of some sort and many people lost coins, we didnt, but i`m not risking the INCOME funds there, and the customer support hardly answers any problems and havent resolved any since.

It's a huge red flag for me. I think the INCOME funds are safer in betking for the moment, plus I will add more from the trading account after we made some more profits there, to get some nice passive profits from this Smiley

Hey BURST community.

Sorry for being inactive as of late, just been busy, not been gone. I'm still here. As I always will be. BURST is my main coin, and I don't see that changing. I see other people coming to the coin, and it growing.

That being said, still planning to release another asset, I just don't want to give dates because I'm so busy I can't say for sure when at this point. But I can say that I am going to do it... someday. haha.

byte.enterprises website is taken down, I will not renew the domain. But don't worry, I will make tiga make me a new site and host it on my crowetic.com domain. The old site wasn't accurate anymore anyway, and hardly ever got any traffic.

Also, wallet.burst.city is also down, and domain will not be renewed.

I don't need all of these domains. lol. I will renew burst.ninja of course, and that has already been done. The pool will of course stay running. Hoping eventually to have a new UI (that I've been hoping for forever.)

I am also in control over the main burstcoin.info domain, and I've renewed that as well, from my own pocket. (as I do all things lately. lol) If anyone feels like they'd like to donate to that cause, feel free, but I'm not asking for it.

I think I'm still one of the largest BURST holders, and definitely largest of the asset holders, and I plan to stay that way. Tongue

I've got a bunch of ByteEnt for sale if anyone is interested... check AE. The asset will continue to function as it always has, and I've got plans for boosting the returns on it as well. Just haven't put them into action quite yet. Tiga decided that he didn't feel worthy, even though I told him he's stupid. He felt the need to give his % back to me. I'll pay him in some way if i have to force him to take it. lol.

But yea, just wanting everyone to know that ByteEnterprises is still alive, even though the page is not. Burst.city wallet hasn't been alive in quite a while, and I'm not sure where cat is right now, but I assume he's gonna come around at some point, but we don't need that domain thanks to our good friend H. Thanks For everything Haitch. I've got a bunch of assets for you. Get in touch. Wink

Thanks all. Looking forward to the future!
