Monero discussion started on GameFAQs.  Join in to help answer some questions if you like:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/400-current-events/73750302#12

It's delightful to see thriving discussions far away from Bitcoin Talk.

Is the topic gone? You just revived my account from 2003, but I'm a bit dismayed if that topic got modded.

That dump hit closely above supported, but rebounded quite nicely:

...

Triangle breakout on the upside after a false breakout to the downside?

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

Bid side is up.   Some of that looks like one entity placing bids 1k satoshi apart.  178/179/180 etc. up to 187.

I was set for that breakout to the downside.  Breakout to the upside is good.  I think we are just bouncing around but then again short term I know less than bananas.

I would elaborate further roach, but I think MatTheCat summed it up pretty elegantly elsewhere:

You do know that MatTheCat, even by his own admissions, is the most failed trader on the entire forum, right?  9 times out of 10 whatever Mat says the opposite happens.  I have an entire thread dedicated to the study of MatTheCat.  It's like having someone step out of a clown car giving you advice on markets:

I've been taking some time off from Math and Computer Science to work on my degree in Gender Studies[/i].

I love reading your posts and value your input as much as the next bullish xmr guy on this forum... but I'm sorry I gotta say it, what the hell??? Sorry to go off the topic, but how can a Math/Computer geek such as yourself be trying to get a degree in Gender Studies?  I would've put 100 moneros on something in the STEM fields....

Anywho, glad to see your back and in good health.  Looking forward to your posts for the exciting stuff ahead this summer/year.  Are you planning on doing another drunken AMA this year?

I remember back in my college days all the hot chicks were in all the sex ed classes. Smiley

I used to walk by them on the way to programming class. :|

Pretty clear you are reading too literally. Think analogies:

How can I give a damn when I don't know what merges are?

the merges!!!

https://github.com/monero-project/bitmonero/commits/master

when a monero contributor has finished working on a piece of the code (like the highly optimized database), they first get others to test out the code. Once its all fine and dandy, that contributor submits a pull request, asking the core maintainer (here, fluffypony) to integrate that new code into the main Monero code. The core maintainer then waves his magic wand over the request and merges it into the primary monero code.

And thats a merge folks!

You surprised? Eth was pronounced dead by many, many times over last few months. And here we are, at nearly $14 again.

Not really. It is quite obvious that Ethereum is not going away anytime soon, whether one likes it or not. And more importantly we now have another big market influencing altcoins globally. Previously there was only bitcoin.

Eth is going to be going straight down.  The single entity Eth manipulator is running a greater fool pump to attempt to exit the market before the DAO people can dump their $130 million denominated in Eth on May 28th.  So you have that DAO + Bitcoin halving which will both crater the Eth price.

As for what you might be able to expect from Bitcoin halving from this bollinger analysis:

Generally tightness of bollinger bands doesn't say anything about the direction, with all the (hostile) debates going on I wouldn't be suprised if it breaks down. In addition, that resistance zone (460-480$) has been tested multiple times without a succesful break. If, however, the price manages to break that, it will likely coincide with a MACD flip to green and an explosive breakout.
