The Monero Stack Exchange commitment phase is at 33% currently and over 100 people have already commited. Have you commited already?

Where's smooth...there was an argument dozens of pages back of people arguing what the most cost effective CPU was for mining Monero.  Out of curiousity, was wondering if there was ever any consensus on that.  Also taking into account random shit people buy on ebay with a bunch cpu sockets and server cores.

Cost effectiveness is close between mid range GPUs and high-efficiency variant server- or SoC-style CPUs. The CPUs probably have a small edge there on H/W and the GPUs a larger edge on H/$ so pick your poison.

I don't really know what people buy on eBay but I do know there sometimes spectacular deals when huge volumes of 1-2 generation old servers are being dumped off their leases.

But mostly it doesn't really pay to buy equipment specifically to mine Monero (or much of anything?) unless it happens to be pumping. If you have the equipment, great, it might be worth using.

Is this wall a pumping attempt? will it be removed by the buyer or eaten by the seller?

Fortune favors the bold.... (*leaves margin bids out there*)

Anyway, nice to see at least ONE other person got my "I dunno, dump into it and find out LOOOL" joke!   Grin

No idea who owns that wall, but I like to imagine it's a combination of ferretinjapan and other disgruntled Gavinistas diversifying out of BTC.

So to conclude:

[1] The wall is real.

[2] Two pull requests merged, which are from radfish and not from gingeropolous, if you meant that :-P See:

[3] A bunch of new Ring CT commits, see:

[4] A bunch of new GUI commits and closed issues, see:

No, it was from my misunderstanding of this part of a gingeropolous post and then subsequent clarification. Tongue

Now THATS some speculation!

Back on the track, did anyone see all those merges? Clearly thats an indicator of massive buy pressure!

oh wait no one gives a damn.

Thanks as always for providing a clearer and deeper picture of what I hint at. Smiley
