IMHO, THIS is the time to release the GUI wallet...
It's now or never,
come hold me tight
Kiss me my darling,
be mine tonight
Tomorrow will be too late,
it's now or never
My love won't wait.

Nice song; but we should persuade Vitalik to sing it for the XMR audience; maybe even create a DAO for us... Still laughing? think again.
Macsga -- think I'm one of the xmr bashers?  Hardly.  I own a crap load of xmr.  I'm a huge Monero freak.  I posted that song because it feels good.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

is there a wallet out now? or would i have to keep the coins on poloniex?

There always has been a build-in wallet: simplewallet. There are many more options though, but you should do your own research which one suits your needs.

- https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/48cgmd/an_extensive_guide_for_securely_generating_an/

- You can figure out what will happen, not when /Warren Buffett
- Pay any Bitcoin address privately with a little help of Monero.

It amazes me that people are still viewing the price in terms of fiat.... Why would you dream about "cashing out" big time to go back to such a broken currency such as the USD and other fiat? This currency allows us to never have to deal with fiat again and can be ensured it is secure and private.

Thing is as long as your merchant around the corner does not accept you monero payment people will have to use Fiat. Any CC that achieves this will be truely mass adopted.

There really is only one good option IMO if you want a GUI which is LightWallet2. You can let LW2 run with Atrides open node as a light wallet or point to your own bitmonerod client if you want full privacy Monero provides. You would be keeping a full node on your laptop of course. Not that much of a pain.

Please keep in mind, when the ETH and DAO bug is fixed, we will see the reverse flow from XMR to ETH/DAO, so don't party to hard right now  Wink

Its not a bug, there is no fix.

Its lose lose for ETH now. They either honour the contract (as they should) and that gives the attacker 3 million ETH.

Or, they hard fork . Which is completely asinine and kills the currency.

imo this rise in XMR is due to the attacker converting and obfuscating some of the huge amounts of BTC he made shorting ETH before carrying out the attack.

God damn, I gotta say, that crazy Greek kLee is worth his weight in gold. Didn't want to listen initally to the signals he gave for XMR, but some damn inpressive TA today. Enabling me to lock in an amazing profit on my margin trade. Very happy that I took his advice, convinced by his various charts & analysis.

Looking for a good further re-entry now....

Eh, I don't know about that... He predicted monero to crash and was laughing at us bagholders only 10 days ago.

I am out. Community sucks, with some bright exceptions.

Zcash will teach you a lesson I suppose.

For those interested (and I have many people in my team that like XMR) I still cover this coin because TA is TA.
If I see an opportunity in XMR I will advise everyone to buy.

Currently the guideline is to not touch this unless it gets ridiculously oversold (50-75k) because from TA PoV (performance, relative strength to ETH, LSK etc), liquidity, whale manipulation etc etc SUCKS!

Keep holding your bags as 'investors' lol

...

I have to agree with Bassica that he actually did predict the current situation. He saw it coming, he gave an excellent top and he saw where it was heading afterwards.

Can confirm. If only Bassica could show me where he bought those brass balls then maybe I won't wimp out the next time.

You just admitted to deception. You lie to profit. Nothing you say on this forum from here on will hold any credibility.

He clearly says that:

"For those interested (and I have many people in my team that like XMR) I still cover this coin because TA is TA.
If I see an opportunity in XMR I will advise everyone to buy."

So it's not deception. It's omission. Which makes sense if you're offering a private service.
