You can send gems to a Bitcoin QT address, you just can't spend/see them. But if you create an address just to hold your gems, you can then import it to counterwalet to spend it.

I updated to the latest one a few months ago so I don't think it's that. It kind of embarrassing I have such a shitty phone, it's a long story but I barely use a phone for my lifestyle. Just to add it was working pretty much flawlessly before the more recent update from a couple of weeks ago.


Invalid checksum makes me wonder if my phone is blocking the app somewhere in settings maybe?

It's a bit off topic but as Daniel posted about the Greek crisis. I wanted to share about the lie that the MSM is pushing in almost ALL the media we are reading about Greece. Yes Europe and Greece have many social governments have been over spending and a dependent economy BUT this is not how this crisis has come about.


Put simply and quite shockingly. It was the banks, Goldman etc who pushed deriveratives on governments which then blew up, the banks knew they were sub par. Then those same banks were bailed out by the Greek 'lazy' tax payer. And now as the crisis worsens those very same banks are coming after more from the tax payers to pay of the debts they themselves were responsible for and lost. It doesn't get more corrupt than that.

Yep, basically.

I think those Governments also have to take some blame and society that wants something for nothing, i.e. socialism. But this major cause is barely reported at the moment. People should know this is coming to many of our countries in the coming years, maybe sooner, Greece is not unique.

I said before that the fact Citi was sniffing around apps like Getgems and similar technology is cause they want to see how they can survey the situation and maybe pick up on what to rip off, it was never out of altruistic motives.IMHO I hope no one on the Gems team gets head hunted by Citi.  Its good though that the major banks know the future lies here, they aren't stupid.

3) the transactions could do some improvement. Not urgent though:
- it would be nice if i can tap on one of the transactions for more details. like being able to see the full BTC Address. Just for personal reference sake.
- i noticed something very odd about the transactions. For example, now i see "GEMS Transactions". i tap on "Send BTC" or "Receive BTC", i see "BTC Transactions". if i don't do that and just tap on "BTC", the transactions doesn't fully change to show me "BTC Transactions". only some of it.

4) i noticed that there is a refresh button next to the price per unit (i.e. 1 BTC | 245.27USD) on the left. can it be slightly bigger? its kinda small. Also, when i tap on it, i do not know if its responding. would be helpful (user-friendly) to add some kind of indication after i tap on it.

OMG! ANOTHER UPDATE SO SOON!?
Update 12 was on June 20th. Update 13 was on July 8th.
not even 3 weeks and Update 13 is out with way more stuff!
WHY ISN'T ANYBODY GETTING AS EXCITED AS I AM ABOUT THIS!?

Positive things to say:
1) Awesome work on the user interface and the addition of the store. Can see some nice refinements done to the wallet too. +++
2) Not forgetting, all the problems or areas to improve on that i have mentioned before have been addressed!!!  
3) More ways to earn GEMS. exactly what is needed in a social mobile app and for GEMS and Bitcoin too. SPREAD THE LOVE!
4) We now have awesome reasons to use and spend GEMS. vouchers!? woohoo! just a question: the starbucks voucher...is it international? like can it be used in any country?
5) Up to date... there is no social mobile app like this!!! haven't come across any, haven't seen any, haven't heard any. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
6) so far, i dont see any areas to improve on. no bugs or problems encountered either. will report here once i do. hopefully not.

i have no idea why arent many people getting hyper active yet.
I know the airdrop and attention economy are the 2 main things everyone is looking forward to.
But i aint gonna wait!!! start doing what you can now before its too late. In Update 13, you can now earn GEMS by:
