That's interesting because Nxtty has more downloads but fewer reviews than Getgems and the reviews that it does have average 4.2 compared to 4.5 for Getgems. Plus it appears that almost no one posts in their forum....in fact it appears that the dev is pretty much talking to himself over there: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735878.1140   FAIL.

That's why I asked earlier about the comprehensiveness of the auto-destruction feature of chats & pix. Teens do what teens do, and an app that features "Strong Privacy!!" will encourage teens to do a certain intimate something with their "friends with benefits." That's why I was asking whether the auto-delete feature hashes the posts, pix, etc. into unrecoverability.

Call me whatever, but I had a vision of a teen who's deeply into that kind of intimate sharing: her cell phone is stolen and falls into the wrong hands. The hands of someone who's tech-savvy enough to undelete, and who has no qualms about sending what he finds to a certain network of dark-web creeps. This worry was prompted by the fact that I have two nieces, both prepubescent right now. It began with me imagining that I introduced GetGems to them, they liked it, became regular users, and so on.

I'm still waiting on an answer to that question.

You seem to be implying that having strong privacy and the ability to delete pics, etc. is a bad thing because it might encourage kids to be more reckless than they might otherwise be.

When I was a teenager my girlfriend and I had sex anywhere we could. I even remember being on a school trip on a school bus and I was masturbating her under a blanket, lol.  Kids are horny and reckless and they are going to do what they are going to do. More security, if anything, might make the app more appealing to teens but it certainly doesn't mean that with weaker security they might somehow behave better.

I THINK his point is more about can someone recover deleted photos, chat. Well I assume not cause that the whole point of deleting a message, is there any messenger that once you clear messages etc they can be recovered anyway?

Yes, you're absolutely right. I am a "kids will be kids" type: I was just worried about someone's privacy being invaded when his/her cell phone is stolen on the street when (s)he is logged into Getgems & the app is open. Privacy matters!

I use both nxtty and getgems. Getgems is surely better. The only real plus nxtty has is about anonimity: no link to your phone number and to your mail.
Someone had the problem i told before?

Today, with the android version, when i go in the store section i have this message: authentication_failed
And i can do nothing.
Anybody else has the same problem?

What happened with GEMZ was the ICO was over sold. They didn't need as much money as they raised.

They also over estimated the user desire to get some of their XCP fake money. User's don't care if the app gives them fake MySQL money or fake blockchain money. So many apps have fake money rewards built in.

How much money does the GEMZ team have left? I would assume they still have like 70%+ of the funds. All they did was link telegram to a bitcoin wallet. How much did it cost to do that? $50,000? I believe they raised like a million dollars.

What does this have to do with creating a good app that people will use? Nothing.

Your argument makes 0 sense.

This is extremely poor. Since one of these updates, I cannot access Gemz/BTC. I also cannot access the recovery seed words, despite knowing the 4 digit PIN code. So, how do I access my crypto? Sloppy work here devs

There's a bug in the iOS wallet transaction display.

when I swipe to the right to see my BTC balance

It shows

Balance 389

received GEMS   +389
Deposit Bits +389

I think there should be one entry there.

Indeed, also who's paying the devs and marketing, does the guy expect to spend them all the funds in a couple months? That's not how things work.

Right, we want to QA the transition between the app store version to the new beta version (and not the transition between two beta versions).

Truly indeed. Just because a team of developers only needs $200k but received $1million instead, it doesn't mean the product gets done 5 times earlier than the projected dateline or their manpower team can increase to 5x its initial size. it can be the case but usually not. it would be more likely that they want to do more than just have a simple app which was initially planned for.

Of course, we have all the right to expect that the product gets done on the projected dateline and not later. BUT if you found something that was done on a sloppy job or in certain areas of the app that needs to be improved on, do specify and let the GEMS Team know.

Did anyone see Telebit attempting to downplay GG at the moment their app was live? They are clearly looking up to GG and show who is leading, Telebit has now just 10-50 downloads. I downloaded the app and uninstalled it, after using GG, Telebit was just too boring.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3gsmec/telegram_telebits_brand_new_app_lets_you_send_to/

Then this guy rydan and the_real_obola are to be seen in every GG related Topic, they are clearly competitors. But it was a nice publicity for GG anyway cuts their whole Thread changed into a GetGems topic.

It's only a wallet so it should be compared more to mycelium, bread wallet etc., getgems is a different niche and much more than a wallet.

A friend of mine on Android sent the referral link to his friend, who then installed the app. My friend never got the Gemz for the referral, and subsequently deinstalled the program. When he told his friend the Gemz referral didn't work, he also uninstalled the app. They don't care about Gemz enough to contact support; they just wanted it to work.

If this app is to be successful, the referral system has to work 100% of the time. Otherwise, people will get pissed off and tell their friends that it sucks, rate the app poorly, and it will ultimately kill the momentum. If it means hiring people to test, or more programmers to debug, then do whatever it takes to get this right from the beginning, otherwise this project will stop dead in its tracks.

I agree here.  Should be top priority.  I've had similar experiences.
