Another block, in the low 100's ... and payout confirmed Nice one - great timing too to send out the payout. Kano - so the auto-payout codes are in place? Nope - as I've mentioned before, auto won't be happening. There's too much issue with just letting every payout go out without checking them. Pools like Eligius and Slush let well over 250 BTC each be sent to a single withholding miner and let them get away with it because the pool's miners are the ones who lost the most/all of that 250 BTC. That won't be happening here. All I've done is just change it to be zero fee txns and still make sure they are in the block work. Sending a payout takes little to no effort, but I firstly check a batch of payouts (and various other things) minutes/hours - usually hours - before the next one is due. So sometimes they are delayed a little, but not usually. The first confirm now completely depends on when we find the next block, which we're supposed to average around 3-4 blocks a day. Paying the expected fees is well above what I'll ever consider doing - as I mentioned, at the moment that would be around $1400 a month or more - especially when you consider that we confirm transactions ... that's the specific and direct job of the pool, and what we get paid for doing ... nothing else. |

Excellent approach - while automation is good - your careful approach protects the members and ultimately this is desired. Would it be a wild conspiracy theory to suggest that the large Chinese farms and manufacturers are dumping their coins for cash to finance new hardware or just pocketing profit? Or might people just be getting nervous about the halving?
Just wondering what others thoughts are.

Your definition of a tumble is a bit low. In normal markets this is very stable, shooting up hitting a high and then coming back down to a stable level is very reasonable. Weeks ago the value of 1 BTC was only about $415 now it's $440, while yes last week it hit $460 that was a jump up. |

CKDB restart coming up in about 40mins - ~21:30 UTC
No miners will be affected.
Web site will show lotsa '?' for less than 10 minutes.
New code is all working fine as expected and restarts are quicker.
However, there's still a memory leak (maybe I added a new one after finding a previous one ...)
This one's a bit slower and ends up all in swap so took longer before a restart was needed. Haven't found the cause of it yet.
