Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Factom Dump .. Oh Well Back to the Bottom..

Neh just hardening the trampoline. FCT is probably the best crypto investment out there, impossible to say where it will go.  But a usecase of billions with a market cap of millions is an easy pick

Factom Dump .. Oh Well Back to the Bottom..

FCT IMO has a large whale holding a ton of coins. Since there is only 8mil coins and insiders hold over half. This only leaves a certain amount tradable, plus lack of a good wallet  leaves  a lot of coins trapped on Polo. That doesn't help the panic selling.  Notice how the whale won't let the price run above a certain point before he starts his short games. I'm thinking his risk reward for a margin call gets too expensive above that point. He also risk losing control, his famous 100 btc dump short which I think lost some of its effectiveness. This time he used slow bleed ? Short ? Like letting the air out of a tire, trying not to cause a swing in either direction and risking it getting away from him, until he had it in panic selling territory. FCT maybe his trading golden goose and isn't going to let go without a fight. Which also begs the question of him having some insider knowledge track. To short openly during the possible release of M2 or test-net doesn't make much sense unless you already know what's going on. Something else that plays into this, is that FCT is traded primarily on just Polo. Bittrex doesn't add much volume.
This is just my opinion. Either way I need to get on his buy and sell contact list Smiley
My guesstimate is this whale is in this 500-700 Btc range judging from the dumps, sell off's and runs.

Im rather surprised they haven't announced anything since the 1st.

After two radio shows talking about being on the verge of announcements (Taizen and Crytoshow)?

I think once the focus and attention is off of devcon 2 and the blockchain hackathon we will see m2 testnet. Just a gut feeling.

More press on Factom's role in China's "smart city" initiative:

http://smartcity.asmag.com.cn/yjs/1690.html

"With the core development team and community developers multiple blocks chain project to establish a technology partnership, Ethernet Square, Factom, BitShares and Bitcoin is the first of four on-line development environment. Wherein, Factom projects were distributed capital (as China Universal Holdings LP) financing, in addition to Factom, the capital is also distributed worldwide with a plurality of start-ups associated with the block chain technology, signed an investment agreement. Wan Yun block chain cloud platforms will cooperate with more projects, have a variety of on-line block chain development environment and tool suite."

Has anyone tested these guys?

https://bit.ac/

They have a sig campaign active, support Factom but their web does look like some of HYIPs I ve seen in the past with cartoon characters and similar. So, not sure.

Latest github update to factomd, from davecgh:

"blockchain: Add string mapping for ErrBIP0030.
This ensures the error appears by its identifier instead of its value should it be printed."

So it looks like they're ironing out the very, very fine details at this point. Though to say what's been said before—given the rushed nature of some crypto projects lately, it's a huge relief that Team Factom is taking such details seriously. It speaks well IMO about the care they've taken with the rest of the code.

Whatta DUMP!

Yeah, 400+ BTC—over a quarter million USD—in 5 minutes. That was brutal.

My guess is both the pump and the dump were attempts to get people to sell. The whale has to be operating at a loss atm. Though apparently banking on a post-M2 rise in price. Still ... looking forward to vol and price rises, which should help mute this kind of manipulation.

Nothing to see here just the FCT whale trying to earn. Eventually someone bigger will take him out.
This is like the 30th attemp overtime, I guess ? After a while you get used to it. Lol
If I had more change I would double down again.

These dumps are likely just stop hunts, everyone on polo put their stop at .005 and MM needed to flush them out before they push it higher on news.

I don't mind this predictable ping pong. Riding the wave is not a problem and it s quite profitable. How does it bring profit to the whale, beats me. Cause he s dumped, OK. Now try to buy 400 BTC FCT at lower price?Huh?

like they said above he kills off margin players and collects.
