But higher btc value = more incentive to buy mining gear = more chip sales. I think pricing in btc (like bitmain and avalon) would hurt sales during btc increases. |

I think you do not get the point of the post "bro". If the recent surge was due to FC's buying of coin, it would mean he was buying a lot of coin and the dividend would be good.
Also, in terms of the next round divs being lower due to this, while that may be true in simple terms, it is wrong in practical terms. When the value of a bitcoin goes up, and the div stays flat, would you not agree the value of the dividend went up? Or if the dividend went down by 10%, but the value of bitcoin doubled, would you still really complain about the "lower dividend".

Actually, yes. We are in Bitcoinland here, with a company that is being valued in bitcoins. So decreased btc dividends == lower btc value of the company. But this simple fact seems already lost on many. A stable dollar price for asicminer is really bad performance, as it is still a high risk environment. |

Just because the number of bitcoins a company is valued at goes down, does not mean the companies true value goes down... if that event coincides with an increase in the purchasing power of a bitcoin. Bitcoin is great as a medium of exchange, a worse store of value (but getting better) but do not try and use it as a unit of account. You cant just look at the numbers... one bitcoin today is not worth the same as one bitcoin at IPO. That is all the further I will discuss this, as this is mostly OT. |

Hes probably a person like Satoshi and well never be sure.
Satoshi never went in with intent to do business with other people's funding. I'm almost certain it will be a disappointment to some when they find out he's mortal and not the mythical creature they envision. If hes a single person hes a mortal no doubt. What I wanted to say is altough he may be known person to some, it appears, whatever he does, he seems not to have the intention to become public figure. By any means Im calling him mythical figure or idol and this is not important discussion to this thread. |

Has anyone been keeping an eye on the number of outstanding shares being held by Havelock? Looks like they're currently holding a total of 27,320 shares to back AM1 and AM100. IIRC, it was about half of that about six months ago. I wonder if a lot of shares will be getting dumped once the next dividend payment is made. Would be interesting if Havelock had a chart that showed how many shares have been converted to pass throughs over the past six months or so.

Been waiting months now for a direct->havelock share transfer.
They haven't appeared in my havelock account but at the same time I can't confirm they're not my direct shares anymore as we haven't had a dividend since I requested it.
Guess I'll find out tomorrow what the situation is, if the dividend doesn't appear in either place then I have some shouting to do.

fc confirms all share transfers, and the shares should then appear in your havelock account (although I did not receive a separate notification from havelock for this the last time). None of my transfers took more than a week. I believe sth. went wrong with your transfer.  |

Paging SmiGueL, although considering the nature of this div I wonder if his prediction will be as reliable as usual.
On another note... if the div does not end up coming tomorrow, DO NOT PANIC!!!! Although most of us are expecting it, I find it a high possibility that it could be delayed for any number of reasons.
