Miners: The Gathering. http://www.bitell.com/t/2157

I was wondering when that was going to happen. Miner OEMs colluding to fix prices and slow the price erosion.
Since mining is a zero sum game, it pays off for them to work together to limit overall supply. Like OPEC for the bicoin mining industry Smiley.

All it takes is one to break from the group...

As I know, Friedcat didn't attend the gathering.

Dude, sorry, who are you and where are you getting your information from? I just don't know whether to take you seriously or not. It's nothing personal.

Thanks.

My question is, from my reading if the design is good a fully custom chip outperforms standard cell chips. If that's wrong why would anyone do full custom design?

I'm not feeling comfortable posting here. It's a legit question, so I'll answer. Please continue further discussion via PM

Sure, fully custom chip done correctly will outperform standard cells chips. The shining example is BitFury rev2 55nm UMC ASIC
To get a killer ASIC, you need to have better SHA256 implementation, coupled with custom design and some more elements I won't discuss.
Such a killer ASIC could achieve 0.1 W/GHs and sub 0.05 $/GHs on 28nm process

Thank you for the info... as a shareholder of ASICMiner I welcome serious comments and discussion from other companies in the industry and think it's seriously unprofessional to troll or bash them.  This thread is for investors in ASICMiner not some troll show.

Thank you

I do not and I am sure many share my view. You see the platform of this forums have many threads that you can use and competing companies should NOT post on THIS thread how superior their product is. Mainly because it indeed create panic among the average Joe investor and causes local swings in the price.  It is exactly like KFC create an ad and post it on competing companies personal websites that starts with (McDonalds sells rubber, White castle's burgers are real but eh it is genetically modified cows......But now we KFC, we are selling the real deal! and this is why!)

Bottom line,

Compare prices, compare technologies, but leave when YOU start to sound like you are measuring d!c&s. Thank you for understanding. (I am generalizing not pointing to an individual btw. And apparently I am very hungry  Grin )

Will take me a while to climb up again, But where is a will, there is a way...

IMHO the information is of little value unless his CV indicates there's potentially more depth to AM through diversification. Regardless, one would assume that alliances which are currently forming the new mining industry and AM's business model will bring forward his identity.

There seems to be some contention about whether friedcat attended that mining forum.  I figure that if the yixia video shows his presence, someone should be able to point him out.  Ergo, the yixia video did not show him attending the forum.

Why point him out? First movers in AM saga already know him in person(webcam).

Hes probably a person like Satoshi and well never be sure.

Satoshi never went in with intent to do business with other people's funding. I'm almost certain it will be a disappointment to some when they find out he's mortal and not the mythical creature they envision.
