I'm not really surprised they've held firm at the $340 price for so long - They are the only game in town at present, and can charge whatever they want for their products. I not a fan of such arrogant behaviour. As a result, for the last few months, I've been taking advantage of the low BTC/USD pricing, and every time I think about buying another miner, I just buy 1BTC instead on Coinbase and think to myself "Now wasn't that easier and more cost-effective ?" Given the current price of ~$235 USD/BTC, it doesn't make any financial sense purchasing miners at their current pricing. An S5 priced at $340 is presently looking @ ~1year of runtime for ROI, excluding electrical and power supply costs. Edited my Trust Settings and here are my results now.  Conclusion:You can use the ~ to set whatever trust you want for any user you like really given they have a reasonable number of positive ratings already. If you don't like it get your fans to support you and change it, or if you are dogie use your shill network and attack others that post your dirty laundry in the forums and use the moderator button hard and often to get your enemies banned that is how works and will continue to work as the tweaks have already been made. Heck those with any real ethics, unlike Adam Allcock, should band together and ~ the whole default trust list and rebuild it trust in a more utopian image. Now if only Techshare and Vod would just shake hands and broker the truce then I can remove the ~Vod and tweak my trust settings more. I hate it when daddy and daddy fight. I don't think it we be possible to trust both Tecshare and Vod's ratings simultaneously with them both showing up as trusted because vod has left negative on Tecshare. This doesn't seem right to me, that seems too easy for users to lose their score. You can see above theymos has lots of positive from people in my trust network, but the single negative made him lose his green score.
Yeah I think something has to change. I see Tecshare at ? ??: -1 / +8 and he shouldn't lose all his green trust just because of one neg. |

Imagine an alternate universe where angry customers of a company like Butterfly hunted down the people who ran the scam and wired their brains to permanently mine bitcoin using similar tactics from the movie Seven to keep them alive and mining as long as possible , no matter how low the hash rate just to teach other people a lesson what happens in the universe when you promise to deliver bitcoin mining equipment and you rip your customers off instead with help from jacked publications like Wired magazine who wrote articles stating they were using one of your units.

Home mining might not be currently profitable but it might be worth the effort to keep home mining alive if it supports local builders like this. They are the real deal attempting to keep all production at the local level supporting their community in the US which is a great idea and something that should be supported. If everything's working proper it should level out around 16.5GH. I don't have remote access to the stats page (shifted it off the VPN-capable subnet so Novak could play with the code more readily) to verify it right now, but I am admittedly disappointed in the 3-hour average currently presented. It's been running at speed for right around 4 hours. Of course, 16GH on a min-diff 128 makes for some pretty gnarley variance. The 12-hour should look much better.
Hopefully tomorrow early I can get the string L working, swap a fresh chip on and get the 3.3V RX back up. If it ends up working like I'm pretty sure it should, all I need to do after that is iron out the Compac regulator noise issue, get some solid numbers on minimum node-level capacitance to maintain balance during a two-chip initialization (testing so far indicates it's somewhere between 200 and 2000uF) and lay into some PCB redesigns. Heck, if the Compac gets to working, the Amita should be a single revision because the chip extension is pretty trivial compared to the friggin' month I've lost to regulator issues.

Time to address Bulgaria's justice authorities on this matter, this guy belongs in prison. And I maybe never get my money back  |

More than just haters... people with a clue giving their expert opinion. In other news, ASICSPACE fired their CEO, Damir Kalinkin, last week. I believe the exact process was that the shareholders held a vote of no confidence, then cleared out the Board of Directors (of which Damir was a member), and then the new Board fired Damir. In my (biased?) opinion, Damir was the worst part of ASICSPACE, and responsible for the most egregious misdeeds I have heard attributed to them. With Damir gone, I expect ASICSPACE to improve considerably. Robert is a nice guy, and I like him. From what I have seen, Robert wants to treat his customers properly, unlike Damir, who treats customers as a resource to be exploited.
However, I do not see how Damir can be responsible for the heat, airflow, and networking problems that ASICSPACE has had. He is not a technical person at all. Those issues were due to the decisions made by the engineer and contractors who built the facility and the person who oversaw them, Robert.
When I was at ASICSPACE earlier today, the conditions were considerably improved. The nine flexible ducts that were previously just neutral pressure outside-air intakes have now been connected to a 125 ton portable AC unit on a trailer, powered by what appeared to be a 400 amp 480V 3-phase connection. I didn't go into the cold aisles, but they appeared to be only slightly negatively pressurized relative to the hot aisles, maybe around 10 or 20% of what they had been at before. The general building interior (contiguous with the hot aisles) was strongly positively pressurized relative to the outside air, and the airflow out the open front door was very strong, maybe 50,000 to 100,000 CFM. The exhaust air from S4s felt like about 40 to 45°C, suggesting cold aisle temps around 30 to 35°C. Still high, but no longer unsafe. Most of the miners in their facility appeared to be on and hashing, although I did hear S4 beeps coming from somewhere.
ASICSPACE appears to be making a good faith effort to maintain proper operating conditions in their facility. They are putting a lot of money behind that effort. Unfortunately, they are spending it on the wrong things, like the air conditioning unit instead of a bunch of high-throughput fans. They don't need colder air, they just need more fresh air. However, the AC unit they are renting did come with a large fan inside, so there's that.
