1001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why I prefer Bitcoin over any other assets and dips don't panic me.... on: December 09, 2021, 05:11:31 PM

Why not altcoins?

Many people think that since bitcoin is so expensive, they are better off buying and investing in altcoins. It may seem to be a profitable decision in the short term but in long term, they should have an investment in the bitcoin.

For me, 99% of the altcoins are developed by the greedy investors to earn the money.
Indeed, and in-fact I've been thinking about the exact same thing few years back and I've realized that I've been limiting myself to gain serious profits because I'm just into altcoins due to the fact that they're more quite cheaper to buy than bitcoin.
So, I've come to decide to maximize my fortfolio by making bitcoin as the main option and source to gain profits, so from that day forth and up until now, I'm still investing into altcoins and other projects but 60%-70% of my gained profits from those said coins or projects will go directly to my bitcoin wallet and the rest is for me to spend on daily basis or buy needs and wants.
1002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata December 29 on: December 09, 2021, 04:27:56 PM

All fights, regardless of sports, that will happen to Japan this month are now postponed due to the new virus variant called Omicron.

There's no date yet when will be the next schedule but obviously, it's next year, 2022. It will give more time for both boxers to train and prepare for the fight especially Murata as he needs as much as possible time to practice his techniques against GGG.

Let's just hope first that the new virus variant will not create global havoc again. If everything will go smoothly, we can possibly see this fight being re-scheduled right away in the 1Q of 2022.

Japan is only a few countries that has a very strict protocol regarding Covid-19 and this is the main reason for the cancellation.

And it seems everything has lay low in the last couple of days now, no other sports are being cancelled except in Japan.

I think the longer the fight is delayed, the more it will favor GGG as ring rust will really be on Murata as he will be out for more than 2 years now in boxing. So still GGG by decision or by knockout whenever this fight is going to held or scheduled.
Japan has been really concentrating its effort to get its citizen vaccinated to make its economy back to normal again, and now there's another variant called omnicron that threatens to havoc not just in Japan but in all parts of the world as well. Japan has issued a travel ban to all incoming international flights until December 31, it's still undecided on when they're going to lift it.
As for GGG, this fight will still on his favor by skills and experience, giving him another month or so to train will be a much more advantage to him. On the other hand, Murata is still trying to catch up and learn GGG's offensive and defensive style.
1003  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't be too desperate to make earning on: December 09, 2021, 03:45:38 PM
If you are thinking that you will become a wealthier person in few days then you are wrong. Each and every successful achievement needs time and concentration. If you are rushes to get profit in one day then it is your fault and you are choosing the way of failure to yourself. You should keep calm and wait for the best time of selling and buying of coin. It will be very crucial for your success.
Well I don't think that being greed and hasty is connect or corelates to something, it's up to the investor how he/she defines it because I think greedy isn't so messed up than we used to think, it's doing appropriate things without getting hasty to your goals. And even if we like or not, being greedy already runs in our DNA since the time of Adam and Eve. Being hasty on your plans gets you really messed up in the future instead.
I still believe that timing is everything, no matter what the issues are, deviate only from your plans if you're already seeing a deadend rather than lose it.
1004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin - a joke or a way to make money? on: December 09, 2021, 02:51:10 PM
Everybody knows that Dogecoin was created as a joke, but now it is worth real money. Do you think it is real to earn on it or it's all a big bubble?

If you believe in a project then you invest in it.  If anyone of us knew for sure what was going to happen we would be rich.  Doge did nothing for along time.  Then it did alot.  I got out of doge. But I wont sit here and say it has no future.  I just believe others have a brighter future.
Well, for me, Dogecoin is getting really tempting to take some part of it nowadays because this particular memecoin is now becoming more and more famous and gaining supports across the globe from people who may starts to believe in it or just investing while it's hot and on hype. Ever since Elok Musk revealed that he have invested on Dogecoin, it's really gaining popularity and no doubt he's behind every hype and dump in this particular memecoin.
1005  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if $70k was Bitcoin ATH for the year? on: December 09, 2021, 02:35:31 PM
Quote
Will you be satisfied if 2021  ends with an ATH of $70k for Bitcoin
Ofcourse, I will be deeply happy and satisfied if bitcoin will have another breakthrough and another all-time high before this year ends. Honestly, who doesn't want want it? 70k is a lot of money mate.

Quote
Will it make you more richer or it wouldn't add any value to your intial capital.
It does, it adds much value to my capital because I invested on it. What kind of question is that mate? Ofcourse, if you gain profits then certainly that'll add into your invested capital. Nor it does makes me more richer but it does make me live more comfortably than I used to be the moment I reap what I sow.
1006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys think 0.1BTC is enough to "make it"? on: December 09, 2021, 10:13:43 AM
Anyway if you can hold your bitcoin untill 2030 my estimation your 0.1 could buy a house, a lambo, a family car, a McDonald's meal, or nothing, the truth lays somewhere in between probably, so a decent car is my guess. BTW, The long term average ROI for holding Bitcoin: 100% per year. Run that out for ten years with compounding.
Yes indeed, that's what I'm talking about. For now that 0.1 btc isn't going to give much in life that you want especially that mansion the OP's talking about. But sooner, let's say if bitcoin will worth $500,000 then maybe that time you can able afford it already or even other luxurious and expensive things as well. Just hold it for now and be positive always because bitcoin will explode soon.
1007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: December 08, 2021, 07:34:06 PM
Was a knockout artist 19 years ago. We do not know if he could box on a same level with professionals and still knockout them. In the past he could knockout everyone, right now he definitely could easily knockout a regular person.

He is not the same 19 years ago but his opponent now is not a professional boxer, or a boxer with a lot of boxing experience, so the advantage is still on him and I'll gladly put my bet on Mike Tyson to win here. I don't trust whatever strategy Logan Paul will use as he has not won a single fight in boxing.

I don't know if Tyson still do his routine the same as before but if not then there's a chance for Logan Paul to defeat him knowing that he is young and well trained for his upcoming show matches and even though this is only exhibition fight for sure we will have fun watching them knowing that tyson is back on the ring and fighting a young man who want to earn fame on this fight. I don't underestimate Paul for his past matches but let see how this fight end up.

I think the experience matters more than anything in this fight,

Whoever has the experience will win but there had been fights in the past where the experienced player lost.a
In any case i think tyson would've won easily.

If it's true that if no knockout the fight will be a draw, then most likely we will see Tyson declared as a winner if he cannot knockout Logan Paul.  I'm not sure what to expect here because this is just an exhibition fights, but clearly with Tyson's experience, he would beat Logan Paul without a question, but will he KO him?
Well, in exhibition fights there will be no declaration of winner and who's defeated because there's no judge or jury who'll score the fight. But the people's voice do matter and we can know who will win as we watch it. I have no doubts about Mike Tyson's skills since then because he had already proven himself what he's worth, and clearly Logan has no chance in this fight even if Mike's already old enough, we still know that he trains well up until this point of his age so we don't have to worry that he'll be a clown in this fight. I definitely want to see Mike to knock Logan Paul out.
1008  Economy / Economics / Re: New COVID strain may affect crypto valuation on: December 08, 2021, 06:05:37 PM
I am observing today something similar to what happened in 2020 but at a micro-scale. The announcement of a new COVID variant that may be resistant to current vaccines has sent the Dow and the S&P down the drain, particularly airlines and other travel hospitality linked business. Zoom stocks are up, mining and raw materials down,... It looks like a repetition also in bitcoin price with a plunge that may be ongoing.

For those of you that are newer on hodling, just calm down, this is nothing new, bitcoin will be there tomorrow and, likely, rebounding after the initial collapse caused by the stop-loss orders triggering of the first days.
i haven't been in bitcoin for long but i continue to learn from experience and also the advice of those who have been in bitcoin for a long time.  bitcoin won't be at the top forever nor will it be at the bottom forever, this is the best advice I've ever gotten from one of the old members on this forum.
Same here mate, I've been there at your situation. The best advices about crypto investments are found in this forum, I also learned a lot by these guys right here about what to do, when to invest and what crypto are likely to have a competitive returns when I have no knowledge about these stuffs at all. We should always remember that investing comes with risks, that's why planning is very fundamental in-order not to trip in the future.
Whatever issues around the world, as long as it's a negative. For sure bitcoin and altcoins are always vulnerable, but as usual, it will recover and will have a much more brighter future. Hopefully this new strain of Covid referred as omnicron won't do much just like the year 2020.
1009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon doesn't own Shiba? on: December 08, 2021, 05:00:37 PM
Oh really?.. that's a big negative for Shiba and yes this will result to down price but let's see what will happen in the next days of Shiba if it can recover or not after the tweets of Elon Musk and surprisingly he still own Doge.. I thought he invested also in Shiba.. so it's clear that Elon owned 3 coins only.
Can you please tag or state your source on where did you know that Elon holds 3 coins. Because I'm quite sure that the great Elon Musk will somehow reveal how many coins did he owns or how much did he invested on a certain cryptocurrency.
Well, for a fact, Elon Musk doesn't own or found any cryptocurrency, he just hold some of it namely Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin. But somehow, I'm still thinking that he's into some other coins as well but didn't want to reveal it for some purposes.
1010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley 2 - December 18 on: December 08, 2021, 03:06:09 PM
Good, much better because this match is much more exciting and entertaining to watch rather than Jake Paul vs Fury, I will surely watch this rematch. I reckon that they both made a bet after the match that if there will be a rematch, the loser will get a name tattoo and that makes it more interesting to watch Grin
Also, Woodley have a chance to redeem about his defeat few months ago and I believe that Woodley took that hardly that's why he immediately stood up after he knew that Jake's opponent has withdrawn in the fight.
My bet is on Woodley, I believe in his talent more than Jakes.
Ain't sure what tattoo you're referring to mate, because Woodley already had it on his middle finger stating "I love you Jake Paul" tattoo you mean after he was defeated in their match on last August.
But yeah, I'm with Woodley too, for sure we didn't anticipate this to happen but Woodley anticipated it already and was sure training as hell if ever someone wall back out due to some injuries or Covid issues, I believe he can now reclaim his defeat because I think Jake just got lucky in their last fight.
1011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the meme coin still worth holding on: December 07, 2021, 11:06:38 AM
Tbh I don't fancy any meme coin worth holding. You could maybe argue DOGE or SHIBA because they might have some usage in the future (ie Mavericks currently accept Dogecoin). But other than that, I would not try my luck at the casino game. At least thats what it feels like Roll Eyes
other than doge and shiba, I don't think there's any more memecoins worth holding on to in the long term. very rarely do we hear that there is a memecoin that has a push from a big company except for those two coins. if there's a meme coin worth holding on to in the long term, it's doge and shiba. if you want to focus on one meme coin, it's doge.
SHIB and DOGE is worth holding to make profits but I think it's not highly suitable to hold it for long-term purposes to avoid possible losses in the future. It's quite fundamental to set a short-term plan to maximize the profits before the hype is gone and because the fact that it is a memecoin, therefore, that it makes it much more risky to hold in long term.
1012  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $100,000 in December? on: December 07, 2021, 08:56:51 AM
In my opinion, the price of bitcoin seems difficult to reach $100k in December because after experiencing a decline in the price of the last few weeks, the price of bitcoin is still not showing a significant increase. Therefore, maybe in December the price of bitcoin will only reach $70k especially now that it has entered the end of 2021.
Currently, the value of every bitcoin is at 51.6k USD and we are now experiencing a price correction and hopefully it will go higher this month before this year will end. Yea, you're right $70k is possible this month after the decline we've experienced, that price is a bit fair but 100k USD? That may sound quite impossible for this year, but in the year 2022, it's very possible for bitcoin to reach that milestone.
1013  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency: The Future of Finance in a New World Order? on: December 07, 2021, 04:42:11 AM
Digital currencies are definitely the future of the finance now. There is no way out of this so some people who are antagonists to Bitcoin and the rest of the cryptocurrencies should stop their attitude for their own benefit. In the future, we won't have any fiat currency left. In this kind of a world, people will have no choice other than using digital currencies. It is better to make an effort to get used to them already now.
I really don't know where you get that information, because it's slightly opposite from the reality. Or maybe you're the one who's out of reality.
Anyways, yes, cryptocurrencies also known as digital currencies is indeed the future of finance especially bitcoin and other trusted promising altcoins. Why? Because cryptocurrencies were originally made to help the mankind after the 2008 economic crash, to have other options for securing assets and some were created as digital currencies for online transactions, etc.
But if you say that crypto will replace fiat? Nah, that ain't gonna happen because local fiats are their for a reason, and it's backed by the government and their gold reserve. Fiats will always be there because there are still plenty who will choose it over crypto like for paying bills and groceries.
1014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys think 0.1BTC is enough to "make it"? on: December 06, 2021, 05:16:38 PM
If you think 0.1 BTC can make the mansion you are wrong because 1 BTC still hasn't reached 1 billion USD because every property development requires high costs because property prices always increase as well as crypto market prices. but I wonder why the target has to be mansion if there are other better options or HODL BTC to reach the price of 1 billion/1 BTC for to make the mansion
Well I think the OP's question is if 0.1 btc is enough to make or buil a mansion, he isn't stating that 0.1 is enough to build one, right? He's just asking mate, it really looks that you're totally furious about it Grin
Yea, you're somehow right because todays bitcoin value won't be enough to build or own a mansion. But holding it will make a huge difference in the future because that 0.1 btc will be worth much more and maybe it can really build you a mansion.
1015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 06, 2021, 02:57:17 PM
My question is... do you guys believe there are chances for the Rockets to participate in the playoffs this season?
No, not at all.

In the last 6 games that they won, only one team I believe is a good team, and that is the Chicago Bulls. The others are a non-playoffs team so I don't like to get hype so much with the 6 games winning streak, I need to see more games like the Rockets beating teams like legit good teams.

Their next game is against the Nets, if they'll beat the Nets, then I must say they are legit.
I must say that I can't argue with that fact, I mean, we knew that 6 win-streak isn't enough for them to be in the playoffs tree. They need to beat strong tough teams for them to climb the playoff spot. And yes, the Brooklyn Nets will determine if they're suited enough because if they can't beat the Nets then they can't also beat other tough teams like Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks.
Even so, Rockets ain't in the top picks and predictions to be a part of semi-finals.
1016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful with the hype on: December 06, 2021, 12:51:40 PM
It's Rather unfortunate that developers don't really care about the interest of investors or holders of the tokens. Their major aim is to maximize profits and they are indifferent about ethics or the rightness of their actions. I think it's the responsibility of investors to research proper about a project before committing their hard earned resources into it.
It is and always have been the responsibility of the investor to choose wisely about the projects or coins, because the investors are the ones who will take a direct hit if everything goes down. It's unfortunate for those people who followed the hype without even bother to research it for safety checks and purposes, they invested on it just because it's what others does, but no, that's not how it's done.
That's is also why it's very crucial and important to make some research and study the market first before handing your funds to it, better be safe than sorry mate. Always buy now than later if you can actually afford it because we don't know when profits will starts to kick-in.
1017  Economy / Speculation / Re: New all time high record | $66,000 on: December 06, 2021, 11:06:47 AM
Certainly a great achievement demonstrated by bitcoin which has broken new ATH records. Even though the price of Bitcoin has been steadily dropping lately, it has had its ups and downs throughout its journey. However, as a long term investment, I'm not easily swayed by Bitcoin's current decline in price because I believe in the long term potential of bitcoin where the price might reach $100k to $150k in the next few years.
Well, bitcoin has proved its worth historically throughout the past decade, it's normal for bitcoin's value to decline or make some correction because eventually it will always recover, so if you're in for the long-term investment then you don't have to worry about the bitcoins declination this week and in the past week. Be patient, don't sell it because bitcoin will shine again these coming weeks.
It's even possible for the bitcoin to reach 100k USD or more next year.
1018  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When is the Bitcoin symbol going to be added to the keyboard? on: December 06, 2021, 08:39:27 AM
I don't see it coming anytime soon. Even the euro(€) and the peso(₱) doesn't exist on your keyboard after decades and decades of existing and with high levels of adoption. Why do you think they would immediately add a bitcoin symbol as a standard on keyboards?

But yea, like jackg said, it's likely to indirectly get into keyboards through emojis.
Indeed, for the bitcoin symbol to be somehow put in the keyboard and shortcuts will take some plenty of decades, just like the mass adoption and legalization of bitcoin will take much time but we know it's on the process. But for now, the keyboard shorts and standard will stay as it is, and there will be no priority for bitcoin symbol to be added in it because as mk4 said even the top currencies in the world aren't in the keyboard until now.
1019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Ioka Dec 31 on: December 06, 2021, 07:52:00 AM
One thing that comes to my mind is the weather factor, Japan by December is very cold and Ancajas should acclimatised himself otherwise it might affect him in this fight as Pinoys are not used to a very cold weather.

Good catch right there. Extremely cold weather tends to weaken the body of a person who has used to be on a torrid weather.
However, Ancajas might already be in a place where it's close as cold as the winter in Japan. He might have adapted into different kinds of weather especially that he's constantly flying from 1 country to another whenever he has a fight.

Moreover, body conditioning will be they key to eliminate that factor, keep the sweat coming once he steps foot on the ring.

Yeah, team Ancajas should come to Japan at least two week for him to really be familiar with the weather because for sure it will be snowing in Japan and the Philippines doesn't have that one in their calendar. So get early in Japan then continue his training under this weather so that once the actual fight, there will be no more adjustment in the coldness of Japan as his body are used to it already.
Yes, they should and probably two weeks should be enough for the Philippine boxer to be accustom to the Japan's climate and to be much more confident until their scheduled match. Surely, it would and will be a challenge to Ancajas to make his body adjust the weather but as we know Philippine boxers are well known for their versatility, so there should be nothing to worry.
1020  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs. Ilunga Makabu on: December 06, 2021, 06:52:02 AM
WBC is giving all the advantage to Canelo, Lol. Makabu vs Mchunu first then they fight each and soften each other for Canelo. And then they will just have 4 months to prepare for Canelo.

And then Canelo can watch how both of them fight and win he see who is the winner, he already has a good strategy in his mind in advance. So I'm seeing Canelo going to win whoever he is going to fight next.

That's expected lol. WBC is Mexico-based and its president, Mauricio Sulaiman is Mexican as well so what can we expect hehe.

Yeah, Canelo always has the luxury of choosing whom to fight and everybody else just wanting to win that Canelo sweepstakes, that would be their very paycheck once Canelo chooses them.

But I like the chance of Makabu here once he disposes of Mchunu because of his size advantage. He may not have that lateral movement but at least he has the puncher's chance.

True, Sulaiman loves Canelo and being Mexican and holding a WBC belt, Canelo has his perks and can choose whoever he fights under this organisation.

And since Canelo is the cash cow now, every boxer is after him, like Makabu and Mchunu who will fight first, sort of eliminator but the funny thing is that they belt is on the line. Anyway, I hope Makabu wins so he will get his biggest paycheck and give Canelo a good fight at cruiserweight.

this is a very good opportunity for Canelo to prepare more for this upcoming fight. he should use the waiting time for his rigid preparation because one should not take for granted about the capability of either makabu or mchunu. whoever wins on their match. they have certain advantage as they are fighting on their comfort zone.
so if in case canelo will win on this weight division, he will be more bankable as a boxer here.
It will be a very rough and hard training for Canelo because aside from boxing training about Makabu's offensive and defensive strategy, he will then go to weight lifting to gain some weights because he's not suit on the CW now. We really can't know for sure who has the upper hand on this fight because Makabu is om a 9th time win streak from 2017 up until now and Canelo has been known also for his mindest tactics and power punches. We'll see about this next year, soon.
