1001  Economy / Economics / Re: Big money after "sustainability" on: November 11, 2021, 10:35:00 AM
If you rate companies and people by how they actually contribute to the environment issues on earth, I think most centralized companies will rank higher even if they start using so called green energy. Bitcoin Network is actually worth powering with huge energy considering it's good principles as a True cryptocurrency & global reach, but "green energy" powering evil or immoral companies will continue to power the evil and contribute to environmental problems.

I still believe Bitcoin should use clean renewable energy in efficient and decentralized manner.
1002  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks will die crypto will take over in 5-10 years on: November 11, 2021, 10:15:47 AM
In a societal setting where people strongly stick to good principles and rule of law ,  they could adapt to something more acceptable, probably the True Crypto model. In settings with evil banks where people are asleep or decieved, their rights could continue to be trampled upon probably in different guises.

They are intentionally/unintentionally following a program designed for the Matrix or evil System which sole purpose is to fully delivers those that are slave to the system to hell. It's programmed to behave in certain way if this or that happens or doesn't happen. Better still, If this happens or doesn't then do this or that, and humans will react this way or that way. What it gets people or other things to do could include launching terrorists attacks.

1003  Other / Off-topic / Re: Remote alarming on: November 11, 2021, 09:36:54 AM
You mean something that can alert you at your off-site location when the data center loses power, internet or both?
I wonder what tech can easily send alerts to you wherever you are, without the internet. Guess you could cheaply do that with smartphone that detect when data room light is off/on(probably could do this with phone's ambient light or similar sensor) , and can be somehow connected to the datacenter to monitor the internet. Whenever the power or internet (or both) goes off, it's triggers the alarm of app that monitors the internet and power.

It either you have a cheap smartphone that listens to the alarm and automatically call your location or you employ someone to call whenever he/she hears the alarm.
The smartphone/device could also be configured to send you alert via the internet but I'm considering the possibility of the internet not working on the smartphone at that period too.
1004  Other / Off-topic / Re: Society... on: November 11, 2021, 09:03:41 AM
Society could be more easier if people had babies because they actually want to raise one and help it grow instead of having babies because "it's what people do"

Having babies is actually part of being fruitful... It's written, be fruitful and multiple...        Not everyone will be happy to have a dog(for example) that fail to produce offspring, unless maybe the dog has adopted children it's nurturing to adulthood

That said, it's important to always wait for the right time to have babies, or get married & have babies. Don't do it because of pressure. And don't desire to have plenty if only few have been predestined for you and vise versa. Don't be too bothered about how the world does it or what they want you to be like. Be patient and wait for the right time... When it come, you will glad you didn't rush or weren't desperate.

The patient ones will likely be more responsible or patient enough to train the children properly.
1005  Economy / Economics / Re: Wisdom in laying down on: November 10, 2021, 04:52:15 PM
China would be listed as first country in the world who made the perfect Human-Machines in the history of man kind. The small % of dictators run the country, rest of the population is just working to make their way to two times of meal. The work hours put forth by them is profitable for the owners only. This is also one of the reason why china is able to manufacture everything at the cheapest rates possible. All they do is hire thousands of peeps under one roof, on low wedges and without a meal too. Thats the grim reality behind the same.

Laying down, well; as human the chinese peeps should not be treated like that. They are literally loosing the right to "Choose" and would be making the upcoming generation as robotic army who works and works without desires to fulfil their own dreams.

Don't you think the "low wages" may be one of the strategy to keep prices of things cheap? High wages could be one of the reasons certain companies are pushing hard to replace humans with robots... . It's better to have humans work hard & quickly and get reasonable pay than have robots take over their jobs.
I think you could have a mechanism where employers pay workers what they can without pushing the cost to consumers, while the extra/remaining payments come from the system/govt and automatically paid to hardworking workers to augment their income so that things can remain cheap and people can afford all their basic needs. Better than telling people to sit at home and get paid for doing nothing because robots have taken over their jobs.
1006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sweden proposed to ban mining in the European Union on: November 10, 2021, 03:53:05 PM
Has nothing to do with Proof of Work consensus mechanism. It's a true consensus mechanism that any True Cryptocurrency will always depend on for true public concensus.     I guess they are simply concerned about the amount of energy that goes into concentrated mining.

You don't mention Proof of Work along side Proof of Stake when talking about decentralized cryptocurrency. PoS is actually a meaningless scam if you think through the idea deeply. It has no place in the world of True Cryptocurrency.

PoW is very anti-fragile and crypto friendly. I hope costly mistakes that lead to easy takeover are not made in the future by crypto projects.
1007  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do spectators now know better? on: November 10, 2021, 02:58:30 PM
Guess lack of confidence in a coach could contribute to that, or the spectator is actually more talented, just too dumb or don't understand the coach well.

In rare case where a coach is exceptionally Good, (maybe because he/she  totally depends on our CREATOR) you just trust whatever formation or player he chooses.
*A good leader at "war" could use strange strategies that may shock his followers but wise followers will trust him if he always does well or wins all his battles.
1008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone willing to be my mentor/helper? on: November 10, 2021, 10:57:00 AM
I believe what you did was a gamble.... if it wasn't a gamble you wouldn't be needing the money for something else... and if you didn't invest on solid crypto/projects that will mean more risk to the gambling behavior.
You should always remember to invest what you can afford to risk/lose, especially invest on solid projects. This should enable you spend more time understanding how the market works without pressure or fear of loses.
When you become consistently profitable and confident enough with your trades, you could gradually add more money to your trading funds to earn more. I would use 200-300 euro from the 1500 euro for trading to reduce risk and gain experience first, I would reserve the remaining 1200 euro probably in fiat/stablecoin or Bitcoin. And I can always take from the reserve fund  when I need money to solve other problems or to increase my 300 euro trading funds
1009  Economy / Economics / Re: an economic model based on fork mechanism on: November 10, 2021, 10:27:56 AM
I guess you are looking for sustainability of open-source projects with the economic and approach.   I think the right incentives actually matters in this. The substantial part of the incentives/rewards need to go to people who are solving problems and making useful contributions otherwise you probably won't make useful things, have products to sell and attract investors.

By the way, who owns the new improvements in the fork? I guess if it's heavily improved it could be considered a new product different from the original and the original owners may not be able claim copy right on the new. Or some part of the income could always go to those original owners.

It's an interesting idea, especially now open-source models need to be made economic viable and sustainable. What seems to drive the traditional model more is competition and zeal to make more money. You could create a better open-source model that drives people to keep creating better products.
1010  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you punish your children when in public places on: November 10, 2021, 09:28:07 AM
As long as it's done in a way that doesn't shame the child publicly. This could hurt them really bad and make them have low self-esteem. I wouldn't be surprised if some fail to deal with it and prefer not to exist anymore.

There are certain case where you could punish publicly, for example, if they are fighting. I would try to make sure those involved in the fight are punished together and impartially.
1011  Economy / Economics / Re: Wisdom in laying down on: November 09, 2021, 04:27:56 PM
I tend to think that working will be much easy if we do what we love that is good and beneficial to society. You would be more worried when such work is taken away from you than not getting big pay. I however strongly believe that everyone should be paid sufficiently enough to take care of their basic needs. They should be paid what they deserve to be paid. No overpayment or underpayment.

Rest comes after working hard. Work until you are exhausted, then take a break and rest.
1012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: USA Bitcoin mining, development, running nodes, transfer >$10K now felonies on: November 09, 2021, 03:50:06 PM
If I understand this correctly,  running nodes on/in your private property(laptop, PC, phones, home etc ) which is more like owning piggy bank or wallet could be considered evil unless certain rules are followed?
Hope lawmakers understand that the purpose of Law is to guide us to do what is right not prevent us from doing what is right.
1013  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your best definition for Metaverse? on: November 09, 2021, 03:06:49 PM
I wouldn't define it yet but will simply give a foundational idea of what it's about in the real sense. Imagine it as an interconnected worlds in their own bubbles. I think future definition could develop from here.
1014  Economy / Economics / Re: Who wants to do what. Jobs or business.. on: November 09, 2021, 02:52:54 PM
The problem is that the schools train people to be money chaser or job seekers rather than problem solvers who use their talents to contribute to society. If schools were designed more to be where people develop their talents and use it correctly for the benefit of society, there won't be much people looking jobs or money because most will be well equipped to contribute. Just make sure you keep working hard and solving problems, and your reward will be guaranteed.  Doesn't matter if you own a business or working under people
1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paid Crypto Research on: November 09, 2021, 10:51:22 AM
There was a site I found on this forum (OffTopic section particularly) that does something similar (I can't recommend it for now as I don't know much about it). It seems to do a comphensive research on things like token/projects security, trustworthiness etc but for no small fee.   Guess what you are asking for are paid services that do minor research on useful/promising projects to invest in. Or would mind services that charge above $20 for comprehensive research? Something like what you want could easily be found online via search engines like Google.
I think you should be careful though, else you use sites that use you to pump and dump scam projects.
1016  Economy / Economics / Re: Jefferies sells Gold to buy Bitcoin on: November 09, 2021, 10:13:34 AM
I think moving to Bitcoin & abandoning the other should only be necessary to preserve value and continue to function during serious  crisis(esp global crisis) because of the anti-fragile nature of Bitcoin Network/System if it goes through enough stress test or something.
In a normal time when there is less global uncertainty I think Gold can still be used for things like that
1017  Economy / Economics / Re: Acting CoC Hsu: More crypto regulation is needed on: November 09, 2021, 09:55:19 AM
I believe centralized firms should be regulated in the old centralized way, with little to no transparency, accountability, etc. That will probably convince them why it's important to be very decentralized. You can't be free from the system if you are centralized.

Well decentralized firms could solve regulation issues (especially when it becomes necessary) by sticking to the Blockchain/Bitcoin principles which include Public Consensus, immutablity, transparency, privacy/anonymity, etc. An external governments that wish to regulate it could simply regulate it along with the public. And I also believe this should be developed in a way that regulators are chosen based on merit and good quality. You can do this without compromising on your system permissionlessness, trustlessness, anonymity/privacy, etc
1018  Other / Off-topic / Re: NFT.NYC Embraces Cyborg-Goody from Metaverse on: November 09, 2021, 09:19:13 AM
Interesting. Wish I saw  Goody cyborg video. Want to know how it was able to walk from Metaverse into the Real World (physical world?) to interact with people.

Anyway, hope they don't export what "DeFi" has become into the NFT world/Metaverse space. That would be a recipe for another disaster.

*When they say decentralized, they have to mean Decentralized, rather than building on system they probably don't understand.      It's really too risky to build those on centralized system. Only on fairly safe well decentralized system should be recommended for public projects like that

The name Gooddata should really reflect on the company's principles. I believe sensitive and private data should be controlled by their owners and they can choose what to share in the system, which should be safe, good, very useful data...
1019  Economy / Economics / Re: What books do you recommend for economics? on: November 05, 2021, 04:27:20 PM
If you asking for recommendation in order to pass exam, I honestly don't know. But if you are asking to apply it in your daily life & be successful, I would simply recommend you stick to things that work well for you. For example, create a unique way to save money that you can't learn anywhere else. You must not follow what the economic books recommend.
If you want to know how economics work on National scale, you can scale it down to family or small community level and study how members activities affect the family/community economy. Lessons learned could be applied on National or larger scale
1020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some entrepreneurs harvesting biometric data for free crypto on: November 05, 2021, 03:53:34 PM
I doubt they are doing so because they love or care about the people who will fall for this, if indeed they are offering or planning to offer money to people to have their iris scanned. Most likely they love themselves so much that they are willing to sacrifice people's privacy by any means possible for their own selfish gains.
The ones who'll give away such information are either so ignorant or love money so much that they are willing to do anything to have it
