I like the noodle suggestions guys, thanks. Now that Bitcoin price is tanking (many thanks to proudhon for foreseeing this, keep up the good work), we need to prepare for living on the cheap. Noodles are a good choice. Easy to prepare, dirt-cheap, tasty.

I like the KOKA noodles (sold in the UK), especially the purple-coloured pack (hot).

That VIFON brand posted earlier looks nice too. Extra hot, that's how I like it.

As for the occasional special treat (see below for reasons), I suggest home-made alpaca/llama jerky, sprinkled with O2 absorber granules (trust me, it's totally safe).

BTW (seriously now): I have a Chinese friend who told me that a friend of his was found dead in his home. He had been on a strict noodle-only diet for 1 month. Sudden death.

@Swedish_HODL
This dip follows the previous cycles pattern of 6 30%-40% dips, #Bitcoin  -> $100,000 soon

2017 bull run

Current cycle

Forgive me for saying this, but the second graph does not really look very promising... The first one clearly follows an upward, parabolic curve. The second one looks like a sorry-ass camel...

In any case, no worries. Corn does what corn does. We'll just have to postpone the fireworks for another couple of months. Or years.

Sorry for not quoting, too dizzy (just woke up) and lazy, will reply directly, you know who you are.

Thanks Jay, for that nice story about your dog (how dare you own a DOGE?) I must say, the beginning of the story made me want to throw up, just thinking what that malleable liquid-soaked sock-like substance might actually be. At least the O2 absorber was a nice, crispy kind of substance, and it smelled delicious. I guess, being an O2 absorber, it absorbed the oxygen from inside the bag of jerky, and together it absorbed the nice beef flavour. It smelled like heaven. I thought it was a special kind of super-strong seasoning to go with the jerky, although later I noticed there was only smell, but not taste...

About LFC, I think he is desperate to enjoy his riches. I understand him. To him, and to many WOers I'm sure, the descent from $65k to $45k means huge unrealizable gains that he could now be enjoying, had he sold some at the top. But, isn't that easy to say after the fact? Who woulda thunk? It's OK. This is fine. Just HoDL and there will be a time to sell, and that time is not now, neither was it at $65k. As for me, I consider $100k my personal selling threshold, with the only exception being the price of $80k, which will make some leftover BTC change in my Kraken account to equal my entire fiat investment in BTC, ever. So, when we reach $80k the idea is to sell said leftover BTC in Kraken, and make my Bitcoin investment a win-win game, in the sense that I will have all my fiat back, as if I was never involved in Bitcoin, and of course also keep my precious coins. Easier said than done though (not the price reaching $80k, but getting myself to sell said BTC). My WO experience has cultivated a kind of mentality that just doesn't let me part with my precious coins, no matter the amount or the situation. Will I ever sell? Price increases beyond $100k will certainly make it easier to sell little fractions of corn, as the amounts to sell will be so teeny-weeny-tiny as to hardly affect the big pile of stashed corn. Ideally, my spending will only involve the BTC stored in Kraken, and not my cold storage corn. See, I'm already "spending" my coins, in the form of a psychological reassurance of being financially secure and what I would, perhaps, call "rich". No need to actually spend any corn (yet), the fact that I can spend it if I want to, is enough for me (for now).

Elon, oh Elon. Li-ion batteries are for powering up your Teslas, not for smoking them! O2 absorbers I can understand, been there, done that. But batteries? Is that bitch of a singer wife of yours making you do this shit? I like your Tesla and SpaceX work. WTF changed? What are you doing man? And don't you have any pity for that child of yours, naming it X Æ A-12. Is that a boy or a girl FFS? Don't you understand that POW is, by its very definition, the best way to secure a digital monetary network such as Bitcoin? It's work, WORK! You are sending rockets to space, that needs work. Can't you understand that any serious POW-based network, such as Bitcoin, will inevitably grow to consume lots of energy compared to petty shitcoins like DOGE now? It's designed to do this, and this is what gives it its value. It's a closed-loop system you fuck! It will settle at its current value, and if that value grows to be large, the energy consumed will also be large. Back in 2010 you could mine corn with your CPU/GPU. Bitcoin was green and eco-friendly then, right? What has changed since then? Its freaking value changed! It has become Gold v2.0 FFS. Do you really expect an NVIDIA GeForce 1080Ti to give you 6.25 BTC in 10 minutes TODAY? Have you calculated the amount of energy PayPal and the rest of the CBs out there are consuming? How about gold mining? I haven't seen you complaining about them. I want to like you, I want to admire your work, which I still think is admirable and advances humanity, but man, try to refrain from smoking batteries before posting tweets on the interwebs, that you will very soon regret.

OK, time for coffee, long day ahead.

Good morning WOers!

That's what I'm talking about.

We need the dirty Bob, the filthy Bob, the nasty Bob... Rusty pipes and all. Now I have some hope for price recovery, even considering proudhon's math & science p(r)oofs.

Thanks Homer, that was it. That's the little bag!

Looks like I'll be OK. It's amazing how psychology affects our brain and body. Yesterday I was happily eating beef jerky sprinkled with O2 absorber and enjoying it (tasted great BTW). Now, the mere thought of doing this again makes me want to puke my guts out.

It's going to be beef jerky without O2 absorber from now on!  Cheesy

I am sorry for your experience with the oxygen absorber, but I am delighted you got to experience beef jerky. Wink  Jack Links is a mainstream brand here in the US, and it's decent enough.  But there are also many small brands and less mass produced sorts of jerky that are also excellent.

But the very best of all?

My wife and I have made it with a food dehydrator.  We have the butcher cut some meat very thinly, and we season it, and put it in that gizmo and it takes a few days I think.

IT. IS. DELICIOUS.  MUCH MUCH better than anything you can buy in a store.  Similar to the difference between a loaf of bread from the store, and one baked at home. Anyway... something to try.

Thanks, your idea is very tempting, as I'm now paying $8 for each bag of 70g of Jack Link's Beef Jerky, imported from the US. Holy cow!

The thought of spending that kind of money on jerky when I can be BTFD is killing me (not the O2 absorber)...  Cheesy

I can sense across the great biosphere, that one of you is about to have a Mindrust moment.

Question is, which one of you is it?  Cheesy

Certainly not me!

Considering wiring $12k to Kraken for a BTFD moment.

Michael Saylor Responds to Elon Musk - Bitcoin Environmental Impact & Energy Debate

Saylor at his usual top-notch performance, debating crushing Elon's nonsensical claims. Saylor is an engineer, and that helps a lot.

I'm not sure Saylor is an engineer though he did graduate from MIT.  He said he was a rocket scientist.

This is the O2 absorber in Jack's Links:

https://www.mgc.co.jp/eng/products/sc/ageless/

Here's some pertinent info:

Q2. What happens if AGELESS is accidentally consumed?

A:The main constituents of AGELESS include iron powder and vitamin C, while the main constituents of AGELESS EYE include inorganic salts and colorants. These constituents have been confirmed to be safe in acute toxicity tests by official institutions. The packing materials used in AGELESS and AGELESS EYE pass standard regulations for food containers, plates and packing set by the Ministry of Health and Welfare notice 370 issued in 1959 and notice 20 issued in 1982 as a material that is able to come in direct contact with foodstuff.

What if the powder in AGELESS comes in contact with my eye?
This may cause scarring on the eye. Wash with copious quantities of water and seek medical advice from a doctor.
What if AGELESS (AGELESS EYE) packing is swallowed whole?
This may damage the esophagus and digestive organs. Seek medical advice from a doctor.
What if the powder in AGELESS comes in contact with my skin?
Wash with soap.
What if the powder in AGELESS accidentally enters my mouth?
Wash your mouth out with water.
What if AGELESS is boiled (with noodles etc) ?
While there are no health concerns, the iron powder and other components may adversely affect the taste of the food. If the AGELESS packing is ripped open, the iron powder may become mixed with food. Eating the food is not recommended in this case.

Stay safe!  Smiley

So last night I'm at the home cinema room watching a movie and I open a bag of Jack Link's Beef Jerky to eat while watching. First time to try it, it's an American thing, not found where I live, had to specially order it. Room was dark, saw a little bag inside it, and thought it was some kind of seasoning (maybe salt of pepper). So I open the little bag and spread the contents over the pieces of meat. I ate everything, it was delicious. Guess what: this morning I realised that the little bag said DO NOT EAT outside it. Fcuk! It was something called "oxygen absorber", supposedly to keep the meat fresh. Lesson learned: always read the label before you eat (do) something. I'm still alive (for now)!

As for Elon, I think he has sold already. It doesn't make sense to HoDL and act the way he did (and still does). Maybe the earlier dip we had before the recent bigger one was him selling? Anyways, I'm not so good at this sort of thing, it makes Bitcoin seem like stocks and shares, which I absolutely hate. Of course, I haven't sold a sat, and even thinking of BTFD. In any case, Elon will soon be forgotten, and Bitcoin will resume its upward trend again, as it has done so many times before. Silk Road, MtGox, forkenings, China bans, ETF rejections, mempool spamming, CSW/Ayre/Wu/Ver attacks, you name it, Bitcoin has always chewed them up and spat them out, and so it will do to Elon.

Let's wait until this thing settles. Maybe there are things at play we don't yet know...

As someone who likes the stuff and the South African version Biltong I find this quite funny to read. You'll live.
From Google:

What is the do not eat packet in beef jerky?
According to Slate, silica gel is “an inert, nontoxic substance that’s essentially harmless. … So if you accidentally eat some of the silica gel in the beef jerky packet (or if your kid does), don’t worry. It’s completely harmless.

Maybe stick with popcorn or crisps next time.  Grin

My living room in essence is a cinema room btw. 5.1 setup with Epson projector and a 110 inch screen. It's not a very wide room so can't go bigger really.
Sometimes I do have my dinner in there but will usually leave a corner lamp on whilst doing that. Once finished eating it goes off.

Pretty sure that is not true, I beleive silca gel is carcinogenic, at least I was told that once.

However, he said oxygen absorber, which is not silca gel. Silca gel is for absorbing moisture. So it may be nothing, or may be something, in such small doses I'd say nothing.

If it were really serious they would not be able to sell the stuff as is. I'm sure this happens all the time.

That's what I thought, even before searching about it. I guess they wouldn't put a poisonous/harmful sachet inside a snack bag (most snacks are harmful enough as it is, LOL)... Actually, I'm very careful about such things, it just did not occur to me that there are such types of bags inside food packages.

Funny thing, I even scooped it all with the meat jerky to make sure I eat the thing (wouldn't want to miss the flavour). Didn't taste like salt or pepper. It was crunchy, but in a weird sort of way, like charcoal. I actually thought it was something to imitate the BBQ/charcoal particles/taste.

Live and learn.

Damn! that's a scary story. Might be best to check the SDS for the chemical and see what it says for accidental ingestion.

I checked, and fortunately it seems that you need to eat many such sachets to be poisoned. The contents are something like iron powder that's supposed to suck oxygen by "rusting" inside the little bag. Damn, I think I involuntarily had a taste of Bob's "rusty pipe" treatment...

Judging from the recent WO posts, I think a pump may be coming.

There has always been an increase in WO trollery and shitcoinery before a big pump.

No, this was it. Back to ramen and accumulation mode again. See you in four years.

Did it help?

In four years' time we'll be visiting Bob for the $1M party. He won't be worried about OPSEC, by then his private army will be fully armed and ready to take down the bad guys. Arrie will join in with his weapons skills and help protect the ranch from enemy aircraft and drones. There'll be an abundance of fresh hookers, straight from the factory (Jimbo knows). Jay will be doing the security checks. No sir, you won't be entering the ranch without Jay's approval. And don't you dare bring any DOGE or other cryptocurrency shit with you, or JSRAW will be giving you his nasty batslap treatment until you convert it all to KingDaddyCoin (6 confirmations minimum, so be prepared). As for blow, weed, mushrooms and stuff, I'll leave that to the WO resident experts on the matter (you know who you are). We are family, we are united, we are invincible, and we kick ass. UBUNTU!

In the meantime, full ramen diet and stacking as many sats as we can.

EDIT2: "Yeee-hawww!"

Yeah, there's the ranch thing... Hope it's coming along nicely.

But man, don't abandon WO, we need a bit of degeneracy every now and then.

I really liked that Ubuntu post above, everyone gathered together, their feet touching each other (must be my feet fetish). It's so sweet, one for all, all for one, and all that.

Except Bitcoin, and the world at large, doesn't work like that. Where I come from, there's a saying that's often used for beggars: "Get on your bike." There's no free lunch. The smartest thing to do right now (and ever) is to HoDL our BTC and not even use them for things we may actually want to buy. And you're asking for donations? Don't you know nuttin'?

Jay told you what you should have done if you were smart enough to see where things are going. Now you're hoping some super big whale sees your post and sends you 3 BTC for the lulz. Well, the lulz are on you, so get on your bike and start stacking sats. Because if you don't, I can see you in 10 years from now crying like a little girl when you read these posts.

I'm quite surprised by recent developments regarding Elon Musk's support of DOGE. I don't know if this is part of a deeper plan, or just a symptom of a billionaire's Asperger syndrome. Contrary to most opinions here, I still admire him for his Tesla and SpaceX work. It doesn't make much sense to me, for him to act the way he did recently, although naming his child X Æ A-12 did raise a few flags. Who knows, maybe there are things at play here that we are not aware of. The coming weeks and months will be very interesting.

Now, suppose Elon just wants to maximise his wealth, and knows that his tweets can cause such havoc. Isn't it obvious that he would be tempted to play the market the way he did? It's all nice and good to have high morals and "do the right thing", but when potential $billion profits are at stake, then everything becomes fair game.

Regardless of Elon's narcissism, Asperger's, sociopathy, greed, or whatever else is in his brain, this experiment just shows how easy it is to manipulate the cryptocurrency market, and even King Daddy can be affected. I don't like it, but that's how things work for now. I'm not worried about Bitcoin's long-term performance, I'm fairly certain that this is just an outlier on the steady upward trend that's going to continue for a very long time. Glitches like Elon's just delay the inevitable by a few months. So be it.

In the end, it will all be better for Bitcoin. I see this as part of a great test, and so far Bitcoin is the clear winner. Let Elon do his thing, there's nothing to worry about. Just another soon-to-be-added Bitcoin Obituary. This is fine.

HoDL.
