Honestly, I'm quite impressed with what he has done as it encourages posters to provide more valuable posts, especially those who want to receive merits. As we alll know, not all good posts are merited since some boards do not have as many merits as others.
The merit system is enough to encourage users to create high quality posts. If any user decides to create a thread and reward people that participate well in it with merits, that's their own way and nothing wrong with that, overall everybody has their own style. But what's wrong is if it becomes something we see too often, in which the only way to receive merits is if you join in threads created by a user who is giving them out. It is going to be counterproductive, and would lead people to post in threads they have no interest in, or plagiarising just to post in them.

Bernardo Silva is a valuable player for Pep Guardiola and his team, obviously, they won't lose this player easily.
According to some news, Guardiola said PSG can only have Bernardo Silva if they let Verratti and Donnarumma join Manchester City.
Donnarumma can be very interesting for Manchester City because Donnarumma can be a player to make Guardiola sue for the goalkeeper position for years.
I don't think your news source is a cedible one, i haven't found this news on any credible source. City don't need both verratti and Donnarumma, they are two very exceptional players, but City have exceptional players like Rodri and Ederson in that position, with enough makeshift players in that position, these psg players would never agree to be fringe players, thus it isn't possible for this deal to work. Bernado Silva would either leave City for a very good price or he won't leave at all, i am pretty certain City wouldn't be interested in including a swap deal in the business.

Guardiola according to English journals will stay in Manchester for atleast 2 more years.

I don't agree with it, you need to leave at the peak of what you have done.
I have also seen the rumors, and i don't believe it to be true, Pep has had his longest spell as a manager in City and i think he'd stay for many more years, well beyond 2025, he has a very good relationship with the hierarchy at the club and he now feels more at home in Manchester, i don't know where else can be better. Having said that, football is somewhat unpredicatble and quite a lot can change before that time for Pep to leave, especially now that he has officially won everything with City, we'd see if it happens.

bitcoin is already having a large transaction meaning bitcoin is already successful, few weeks ago bitcoin mempool was so congested which leads to increase in gas fee, I think that’s the large transaction he was talking about.
Increase in transaction fee, not gas fee. Quite a lot of Bitcoin transactions are happening quite alright, but the mempool congestion that has been happening for a couple of weeks now is somewhat different, it isn't really Bitcoin transactions that is clogging the network, but people who are using the Bitcoin network wrongly, thus clogging the mempool and it is different from what Satoshi ever envisaged.
1185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the best board to focus on as a newbie in the forum? on: June 13, 2023, 09:30:35 PM
I find it easier to post on gambling, economics, politics and several others, but I want to know which board to focus more on as a newbie, what's your say on this? I'm open to learning from your opinions.
If you find these boards easier to post in, keep on posting there for now; but do not limit your reading to only those boards, there is so much to learn about Bitcoin in other boards, and if you start reading in the boards where people post things about Bitcoin, you'd learn quite a lot and after sometime you'll also find it easier to post there. One thing you should not do is put yourself under pressure or try to impress when you clearly do not have the knowledge to, read more for now.

Indeed, This a nice solution but Custody has its challenges. Managing a hardware wallet or software wallet requires a certain level of technical knowledge and responsibility.
Yes you need responsibility to be your own bank, but no you mustn't have too much technical knowledge. There isn't anything technical about using a hardware wallet or a non custodial software wallet, it is pretty easy to use and requires common sense to basically know that your seed phrase should be kept a secret and offline wallets should be used for large sum in Bitcoin.
E.g. Common mistakes, such as forgetting a password or misplacing a hardware wallet, can also have financial consequences.
If you forget your password or misplace your hardware device, you should have the seed phrase, that is what you'll use to gain access to your funds again.

Gundogan has been linked with move to Barcelona, then Silva will go to PSG. If these reports are true, then of course Manchester City are in big trouble especially about finding the right replacement.
The rumors have been on for sometime now, with the season now over and City have three more trophies added into their trophy cabinet, the players can now make a decision on their future, so that the club can make adequate provision for replacements. Gundogan and Bernado Silva are very important players for City, but i'm pretty sure that if they leave, Pep would be able to identify who he wants as replacements, and the club would try to get them. Kovacic is almost certain to join City this summer and there would be more reinforcements coming in, City wouldn't struggle next season even if they lose these two players.

Arsenal are starting to move in the transfer market this season, they are strengthening their team and hope that good things will come to them next season after they failed to win the Premier League this season. Rice Declan is a good player, but I can't say for sure whether he will contribute to the team or vice versa, because he needs an adaptation process and I don't know if it will go smoothly or not.
Arsenal haven't signed any player yet, thus we can't say they are strengthening their team just yet, but i expect them to do so. Declan rice is a good player, but he definitely isn't worth the amount that West Ham value him at, most of these English players are hyped beyond what they actually contribute to the team. I don't even think Arsenal can get Declan Rice with that price tag, there are quite a lot of clubs that are richer than Arsenal, and they'd be willing to pay more money than them to get the English international.
1189  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Need tips/help with transfering BTC from old Ledger to new HW wallet on: June 12, 2023, 09:23:39 AM
I've read up on mixing and while it does seem great to have non traceable BTC, I think I'm not going to do it.
It seems like you have to put a lot of trust into the organisation that runs the mixer and I'm not ready to give that much trust.
If you use centralized exchanges, then i don't think you should be worried about mixers, many of them do not ask you for KYC, just that you have to send your Bitcoins to them, to get the mixed coins in the address of your choice, that is where you have to trust them; and some of them also keep the logs of your transaction, while some delete it after a certain time.
In the future however, I'll only buy BTC from non-KYC exchanges and store them on a different wallet. That way I have a stash of non traceable BTC as well, just in case.
That is a great decision you have taken, this will help you to keep your privacy, especially in connection with the coins you'll be storing on a new (different) wallet, but mind you that if you ever use it together with your previous funds (without using a mixer), your privacy would be gone again.
1190  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you still buying? on: June 12, 2023, 08:37:39 AM
If anyone is buying now, the person will never regret in the nearest future. For my believe, people buy bitcoin more than before. There transaction rate was congested because of the demand was higher than the supply.
If you are talking about the recent congestion, then it was because of Ordinals and their insriptions.

Having said that, most of the replies i'm reading is sounding more like Bitcoin is a get rich scheme, and some people are basically advising others to buy now and get rich later. Bitcoin definitely appreciates in value in the long term, but people still have to be cautious, they should invest only what they can afford to lose, and they must garner enough Bitcoin knowledge, if not they'll prolly lose their Bitcoin to scammers.
1191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 12, 2023, 07:44:10 AM
Manchester City won the game against Inter Milan but it was not very easy for Manchester City, Inter Milan were very tough In
their performance which was so difficult for Manchester City to penetrate into them. If not that Manchester City were so lucky to score that one go it wouldn't have been season for them to gain Victory.
I know quite a lot of people expected City to annihilate Inter Milan, forgetting that it was a final, and finals are always close; i wouldn't say City were lucky, they stuck to their gameplan throughout the game, before the game we knew Inter Milan would defend very deep and attack whenever they get the chance to, and that was what they did; but what i loved about City and i also saw it in previous rounds is that they didn't become impatient or start attacking with too many players, they kept on attacking, but also defending well and made sure they also didn't concede, and then they got their goal.

Having said that, City are finally over the line, now they are finally European champions and i am pretty sure they'll want to do it many more times in the future, and who says they cannot!
1192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 11, 2023, 09:32:03 PM
As far as I understand the vacancy to become a coach at Tottenham is still open. Those are bummed that Slot didn't make it, but there are more trainers available. Nagelsmann hasn't found a club yet, has he? Bosz is also still available, which means that he has not signed yet, but that could change.
Spurs already have a new coach in case you do not know, there is currently no managerial vacant position at the club because their new manager is Ange Postecoglou, he is the former coach of Celtic; we'll see how good he does at Spurs. Anyway Nagelsmann is still available, it is possible he'd join PSG who have just parted ways with Christophe Galtier who won the Ligue 1 title but couldn't win them that elusive CL trophy, btw PSG are also said to be intereted in Mourinho, we'd see who takes the job in the next few months.
1193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 11, 2023, 08:24:47 PM
Now they have lost, in fact it can be said that the speculation that was discussed long ago has indeed been proven, but in this case they also deserve great appreciation because they are in the final and are not afraid to face Manchester City, it clearly makes us realize that their difference is not too far .
The difference between City and Inter Milan is so much, but the thing is that CL final's are always tough/tight, there is usually this nervousness and thought from the players about avoiding a mistake, so when you play by trying to be too careful, you'll struggle to perform at your utmost best, and that's what happened to City yesterday.

Having said that, What Pep and his team have achieved this season is unbelievable, they have finally won the CL and they did it by winning the treble, i have said it before that City just needs to get one CL and many more would come, this is prolly the start of City's dominance in the CL.
1194  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do I keep crypto after buying it? on: June 11, 2023, 06:45:19 PM
I think it is important to choose a reputable and regulated broker or exchange to ensure the safety of your funds. Then consider whether you prefer the convenience of a broker or exchange control, and decide whether you want to use the custodial wallet provided by the platform or manage your own wallet.
I don't think there is any advantage to choose the option of leaving your funds in an exchange, except you are prolly a day trader or the amount you have in the exchange is quite small. There is no convenience when an exchange controls your funds, do not buy into that misleading belief, the risk outweighs all of the supposed convenience. If you control your funds you have a responsibility to keep it safe, but if you leave it in an exchange, other factors can lead to a collapse of the exchange or they confiscate your funds for some flimsy reason.
1195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinbase Wallet not showing all my BTC on: June 11, 2023, 05:50:07 PM
I'm really worried about my $BTC and why I can't access it all.
You might not get sufficient answers because of the wallet you're using, i don't expect too many experienced users to be using this wallet for their Bitcoins; anyway you have gotten some good exlanations on the possible cause of your problem. But just a little advise, don't use Coinbase wallet for your Bitcoins, it is a closed source wallet and what happened with Atomic wallet is still fresh in everybody's minds, so there is prolly no better time to move over to an open source wallet like Electrum, and if you have any inquiry about it, i'm pretty sure you'd be inundated with suggested solutions because it is one of the Bitcoin wallets that is widely recommended.
1196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 09, 2023, 06:10:56 PM
I think not any personal verbal agreement reached between Barcelona and İlkay Gündoğan, actually Manchester City success signing Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovačić will replace position leaving İlkay Gündoğan but still not confirm yet which one team will play next season. Not only Barcelona but also Arsenal and PSG has announced interested for signing İlkay Gündoğan next season.
City have agreed personal terms with Chelsea's Kovacic, but the deal isn't done yet because Chelsea and City haven't discussed on the transfer fee yet, they'd do that after the CL final, having said that i don't think City want Kovacic to be a direct replacement for Gundogan because there is an offer on the table for him, one he might agree to after the CL final tomorrow.

Barcelona have not opened any talks with Gundogan and his agent yet, they will have to wait until after the CL final, then Gundogan will make a decision to either stay or leave, that is when talks can take place if he decides to go.
1197  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can bitcoin die? on: June 09, 2023, 02:52:21 PM
Bitcoin cannot 'die' because the things that can make it go extinct are almost certain never to happen. Of course if there's no more mining, there'd be no Bitcoin, but it is quite impossible that all the countries in the world are going to ban Bitcoin mining. To add to that, miners will also always have the urge to mine because of the reward they get, even when they no longer receive block rewards, they'll get transaction fees.

Another reason that can make Bitcoin to 'die' is if there is no more demand for it, but Bitcoin has an actual utility and solves problems, thus i don't think its demand can drop to zero.
1198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 08, 2023, 08:42:27 PM
I also hope that Arsenal can at least get a greater transfer of players to play stronger in the champions league next season.
Even though Arsenal's achievements were very bad last season, I am sure that in the premier league I support Arsenal to dominate the English league standings.
Arsenal had a good season, yes it ended in a disappointing way because they couldn't win the league, but it was nothing like a bad season, they finished second and took a huge step from where they finished the previous season. I am pretty sure they are going to be busy in the transfer market, they do not have money at their disposal like some of the other big teams in England and Europe, but they can afford to make very decent signings. Arteta would be looking at the areas he feels his team needs strengthening and he will want the club's hierarchy to go for the players he feels can fill the voids, they cannot dominate England for now, but they will be able to compete with City yet again.
1199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 08, 2023, 06:07:28 PM
In other news, Alexis Mac Alister from Brighton to Liverpool confirmed ...just wondering if the Reds situation is with Midfielders or they need to reinforce their defense...
They don't really need reinforcements in defense, they have good defenders, though most of them were not in form this season, but we can hope they improve next season, but they really need to improve their midfield, they are seriously lacking in that department, and i think it is the major cause of their failures this season. Mac Allister is a brilliant player and he is going to help this Liverpool's team so much, btw they are just getting started with their transfer business, they need at least 3 quality midfielders, one or two defenders and prolly one winger as well, i would have said they need a striker, but hopefully Nunez clicks for them next season, all of these is what would enable them to compete again.
1200  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you learned about open and close source wallet? on: June 08, 2023, 04:04:23 PM
Just because it is open source does not mean it's completely safe from attack.
Here is an example of an open source wallet that got compromised - BitPay’s Copay Wallet Compromised by Malicious Code, Firm Issues Advice for Users
Just because a wallet or a project is open source does not mean it can't be attacked, even Bitcoin has had issues with bugs previously, but all of that was solved/fixed, the thing with open source wallets is that you can verify the wallet code before using it and you can constantly check for bugs/vulnerabilities, making it easier to be detected/discovered before it can be exploited.

I think it is pretty simple to understand why open source wallets are better, if it is closed source you have to believe the devs and trust them to find bugs before they are exploited OR for them not to add anything malicious themselves, you also have to trust them to tell you what went wrong if there is an abnormality going on with the wallet; these are the reasons why open source is better.
