1 million bitcoins are lost forever, or until quantum computing can break sha256

I wouldn't recommend making any transactions at this time, you may lose your coins for good.

Confirming that mine77 has some issue, hashrate is pratically 0!

Please check as soon as possible...

Not only mine77, but my 2.0.1 wallet is displaying "Warning: last block was received 1 hours and 11 minutes ago." Something is definitely broken and I wish if the dev wouldn't rush to make people update their wallets until he tests everything on testnet to make sure it works smoothly. People probably run 3 different versions of the wallet at this time, it's ridiculous.
1204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 15, 2017, 03:02:03 PM

So I just HODLed.  Cool

I don't play these day-trade/gambling short swings either, usually just HODL and watch the fireworks but today on this bounce I caught a lucky break.

Trying to withdraw some money from Kraken this morning, but as usual their stupid site was crashing and unresponsive during a "crisis".

SO I had to try and move the dollars to another exchange to try there instead.  Temporarily needed to flip it over into BTC just so it was sendable (can't move that old-fashioned paper shit as easy as crypto, LOL)

I was just hoping the price wouldn't FALL too much MORE while I was waiting for confirmations, so I'd be able to flip BACK to dollars and start my withdraw again on the other exchange, and hopefully not lose too much in the process.

Just lucked out, though, and looks like I bought the BTC at that bottom, just before this bounce hit.  Heh. My transaction just completed and lo and behold magically there's about $400 extra dollars there Cheesy

Barolo's on me tonight, boys... drinks for my friends! Drinks for my friends!!

Cool! I hope I had the same patience as you with regards to Kraken.  Cool
It totally hangs-up when traded volume is too high, like today and yesterday.   Roll Eyes

I'm sure they can't afford the extra hardware and man power to run things smoothly, they only trade couple of million a day. Greedy lazy fuckers.
1205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote GPU Miner v9.7 on: September 15, 2017, 02:39:03 PM
Claymore has best miners, i would only like him to give more attention to NVIDIA cards Wink
+1! I'd love to put my 1080tis to good use, 800ish H/S is too low for such hardware!

Something seems wrong, as the daemon is not accepting blocks that my pool members are mining. I'm temporarily shutting down mine77's stratum ports as a precaution so as to not waste people's hash power-- hopefully another pool can successfully mine a block and get things moving?
Damn, what a rocky start. Is there a testnet where we can try to figure it out?
1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC is dead. The plan is a shift to Bitcoin Cash. on: September 15, 2017, 02:31:35 PM
Bitcoin will recover, once it goes down to a specific points it will become very desirable to buy, because people know the potential it has in going beyond $5,000.]

Not only that, the average Joe knows about Bitcoin, but never heard of Bitcoin Cash. The fact that it has Bitcoin in its name will confuse them.

that is right. I think the bottom of this downturn is around $2800. After that, the price will rise to $6000 or higher. The Bitcoin Cash will be $5000 or higher.
Based on what? Have you done any calculations? It seems to me everyone pulls their numbers straight from their asshole.

Why no one wants to help with the installation of the wallet! I have already added coins ! But I have no sync, and there is no folder with the program, I only have the "exe" file which immediately starts the wallet!
Have you tried calling the BCCS's 24/7 hotline?
1209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 15, 2017, 02:24:42 PM
I won't be worried even if it drops back to $2, has proven track record that it will bounce back up.

Well, I'll be worried if that happens. Something isn't right anymore at that price point.  Tongue
Well obviously something isn't right at the moment, with the chinese crashing bitcoin. I assume the worst and predict a 2014-like crash, monero won't be immune to it, but since it's a technological masterpiece it will always bounce back since it's so bloody useful and bulletproof.

How will BTC cash will survive if BTC is dead . BTC cash exists due to BTC and not vice versa. So if btc market is down so will be btc cash . There has being a huge fall from 4700$ at a point to now 3250$ and who know we could see btc in 2200$ range as per the GS analyst who had predicted the market .

Only now some positive news could save the bitcoin from further crashing else it will keep on falling now.

Care to share this  GS analyst who had predicted the market? I'm getting all sorts of predictions of how low it will go ranging from $200 to $3000. Personally I have my buy orders at $2000 but hard to predict weak hands, chinese are easy, you see their total volume and assume the worst and you get somewhere in the $1500-$2000 mark.
1212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The price of bitcoin decreases on: September 15, 2017, 02:11:41 PM
Looking at the current rise in bitcoin prices, it is likely that many buy bitcoin because it sees the basic thing of the market that is buy when the price is low and sell when the price is high ... hahaha maybe my opinion is just a meaningless opinion, but in my opinion will definitely happen to see bitcoin prices continue to decline
If you're looking for investing, some may start buying bitcoin now. But if you're looking for trading then i suggest waiting for 2500$ price as it was the stable prize since july. So basically i think the decrease of bitcoin because the price is already overpriced, and the news from china just come in the exaxt same time to make it going lower  Grin

Where do you get your china news about the $2500 mark?

Just in time for its downfall.
1214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: F**K Chinese BTC on: September 15, 2017, 02:07:15 PM
this is because there is interference from the Chinese country that seems to really affect the bitcoin prices that dropped dramatically.
I can not understand why China wants to ban ico and btc, because I think china is the most influential country in bitcoin progress especially for global market.

It is clear why China want to ban BTC and ICO. They will not permit anything in their country, which they can't control. Look at the state of Facebook and Twitter in China. They are under heavy censorship. I think that the biggest worry for the Chinese dictatorship may be that the Chinese Yuan may lose its battle against Bitcoin, because the former is getting devalued almost the every other day.
I also think this seems to have something to do with the local money of china YUAN that could be ketenaranya will lose with bitcoin.
the Chinese country is really very good at playing bitcoin market price, this is really outrageous because china country wants to control it all.
He who controls the chip stamping controls the blockchain!
1215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: F**K Chinese BTC on: September 15, 2017, 02:02:11 PM
buy it when it reaches 1600 usd.  gradually the price will go up soon
What makes you think it will go that low or not lower? I have my buy orders at $2000 judging based on total bitcoins on chinese exchanges plus arbitrage on western with some leeway
1216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 15, 2017, 01:56:39 PM
Anyone here who gave back their paper profit to mother market?  Roll Eyes

I heat my house burning paper profits.  While I starve  Tongue

BTC may not recover, but instead money will flow back to the superior, original bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash. Buy bitcoins now for under $400 again! Watch for the BCC related conference coming up this week. Huge things ahead! Don't be in the dark on these developments!
Is that true? I do not mind if I have to buy bitcoin cash now because the price of bitcoin cash is still low, I'm willing to buy it if what you say is 100% true that bitcoin is dead. where did you get that news?

I believe the news came from his asshole.

How do you buy bitcoin cash with american dollars? Oh wait, you fucking CAN'T, so GTFO.

Use another crypto or wait until Bitstamp lists BCC by the end of this month.

I'd rather use sand paper to wipe my ass.
1220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Apple Pay or Twint be a rival for Cryptocurrencies? on: September 14, 2017, 09:03:20 PM
Hi everyone, please explain me why the average person should care to adopt cryptos instead of using services like Apple Pay or Twint! At the end of the day if you can send/pay with your smartphone in a metter of seconds with the already existing services why should you buy cryptos other than as an investment? Even if the money are not transferred as quick as the lighting network the average person doesn't care at all....

I want to learn!

Thanks and have a nice day!
Because Bitcoin is a trustless, transparent, irreversible and decentralized digital currency that is not bound by government or bank laws or restrictions.
It's not a matter of paying with a smartphone app at all, that's not what cryptocurrencies are for.
The average person should care to adopt cryptos if they want economic freedom, not for convenience.
Finally, paying at a coffee shop with a smartphone wallet is instantaneous and network confirmations are not needed for your coffee to be served.

I've never had the privilege to pay for coffee with bitcoins, but what stops people from paying a really small fee with their smartphone wallet and eventually get their coins back because nobody is going to process that transaction?
