Bitcoin Cash seems to be now a very strong currency with many supports.

Roger Ver did a great job, we all need to admit that.
Ya He just shoulda done it without stabbing Core in the back...Jesus to Judas..just like that. Didn't have to be like this.. BTD gonna win all anyway cause it's Diamonds  Rofl. Cheesy

Nicehash is the work of Satan! Don't give them your hashrate they have way too much as it is, too much power in the hands of a single entity is never a good idea, power corrupts.

True.

But what do you expect what happens once they can offer goods and services for BCH ?

When globalization happens for the ppl who needs it most / not big companies ?
What makes you think that people will accept BCH for goods and services and not any of the dozen far better altcoins or even Bitcoin?

Simply - usage (low fees - many wallets)  and security (ASIC backed 9 year proven PoW / blockchain tech).
You're being a bit too optimistic IMHO. BCH is just a toy for a handful of billionaires and day traders. It bleeds much like any other altcoin when bitcoin market is bullish.
BCH hasn't even hit a 1MB block, the prime reason why they forked.

I did not think about BCH as an alternative to BTC. I just thought it could bring wealth, but it seems that many people think BCH is the real BTC. I do not understand why? Is it because of its technical value better than BTC?

BCH technology is indeed better than BTC, and later SBTC technology is more powerful, is simply BCH+ intelligent contract + lightning network. But BTC is famous and has a long history. The position of the leading role is not so easy to replace.

Old BTC has still very strong price momentum / upside trend and fresh money still buys BTC (crypto)  at first place. It is the hartest task of trading to predict the point when this tops and rolls over into a side phase or a down trend even.

Once this comes it will be most interesting what will happen - will investors try to really use BTC (high fees and no extra capacity might prove this very shitty)  ? Will they exit crypto ? Or will they move into BCH that should have lots of merchants in place for real usage?

Time will tell....
Most "investors" aka speculators are interested in more FIAT, not crypto.

Hmm - not so sure, esp if you account for the poor masses on earth having no access to 'stable' fiat like EUR, CHF, (USD)  Wink

But right now I'd say most actual investors will - since BTC investors still buy with these ccys. But why do we see so much JPY and KRW trades already ?

CNY was forbidden
INR ?
BRL ?
EGP ?
SAR ....

This list seems to be endless!
The poor masses on earth don't have much cash to throw at crypto to begin with.

250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: November 26, 2017, 04:26:25 PM
Hi guys!

I am looking to buy a new gaming pc and do not care about electricity cost. Wanna learn more about mining and crypto.

I have searched the net but couldn't quite find what I was looking for... I am ready to do my homework and research

but I ask you, do you have good links/sources where I can read about mining equipment for home users.

Donīt wanna build big rig, just hobby mine on gaming PC. I was thinking of Monero or other Altcoin, no coins with ASIC activated.
Red that the 1080Ti is quite good, but that is just one part of the PC...

Any advice?? Thanks

if you want just PC for gaming i think you need just 1 GPU, so GPU is most important part in that.

ok thanks. And the 1080ti is good right? (wanna mine monero or Zcash)

It's king for zcash, but for Monero it really sucks ass. You're way better off with a rx 470 than a 1080ti on Cryptonight.

Dumbest shit I've read today.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 25, 2017, 09:20:25 PM
The reason Monero can never be highly valued is because it doesn't scale.
Basically the same problem as Bitcoin, but even worse.

"But, but, we have second layer solutions."

Fine, go ahead with your second layer centralized off-chain solutions, *poof* gone is your privacy.
Wasn't this privacy why you wanted to use Monero in the first place?

I'm baffled by how very few people realize this. Then again people are only on these forums to make more fiat and have very little interest in the tech itself.

Off-chain scaling does not mean poof goes privacy for Monero, how did you come to that conclusion?
Since on chain scaling clearly does not work, we can agree on that, what other choice is there?

I'm baffled by how people just spew nonsense without any merit
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Not Use Electron Cash! on: November 24, 2017, 03:09:59 PM
I want to use light wallet. Is electron cash safe? How be sure seeds never send for developers?
Move your bitcoins before importing seeds/private keys.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTG vs BCH on: November 24, 2017, 02:41:16 PM
BTG doesn't have a fake Satoshi and an ASIC manufacturer and a criminal charlatan on board.

Bitcoin is King.
BCH is drag queen!

Is it still possible to claim BTX?

If I check the explorer there's 1,875 BTX on my address.

Installed the bitcore wallet, let it sync ( very fast b.t.w.), imported my private key.

Nothing there !!!

Tried it on a different pc, nothing!!!

I'd like to know if it is at all possible to import private keys into the BitCore client (private keys that belong to Bitcoin) ?

Yes. That is the idea from the nov-snapshot. Bitcore and Bitcoin has the same pubkeys and privkeys. If you had BTC in Block #492820, you can import the btc privkey into the bitcore wallet.

Greetz
Steve
Move any BTC you have on addresses you're about the import to BTX wallet to be safe rather than sorry just in case.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Safe way to store many bitcoins? on: November 24, 2017, 12:55:09 PM
Paper wallet.... the only safe way.

I also use a paper wallet for large amounts and put them in my bank safe.
Steel beats paper, paper is easily destroyed, write down your private key in steel https://cryptosteel.com/

If you are going to use the company that you have linked you are spending $79 minimum to engrave on a piece of steel, when that is fairly basis to do. All you have to do is go to your nearest scrap yard and buy it off them for a few dollars and write it yourself. Although, a paper wallet if stored correctly is more than enough and doesn't require any investment at all.
I don't know about you but $80 is really nothing for me, I got better things to do with my time than to spend hours if not days engraving hundreds of little steel tiles.

For that money you might as well get a hardware wallet it has more functionality and is just as safe. In fact you can still use it online but as soon as you use the private key off that bit of steel it could be compromised.

That website probably doesn't sell a lot of those as it's effectively a paper wallet with extra expenses.
Steel would outlast any hardware wallet, they're also prone to breaking and environmental hazards (fires, floods, boating accidents?), you can also lock the steel wallet or even use encryption to write down your seed.

260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 24, 2017, 12:25:00 PM

The resistance can be broken by sufficient amount and combination of circle jerking and buy/sells to each others.
Bytecoin is no good. Everybody says it is a bad coin, don't buy it. Buy instead ripple, monero and bitcoin gold.
Can't believe you placed Monero between Ripple and Bitcoin gold. I would have banned you permanently for this mortal sin if I had any powers here.
