Sorry for being noob.  Tongue
Any working method to prevent dumping? Not to hurry with exchanges?
No way to prevent dumping. As mentioned before, it happens with all coins. The question of the coins' value is truly tested after the early trading ends. Which is why a lot of people here are more interested in getting it more developed before it goes on the exchange. Stronger roots = stronger tree.

Best aspects this coin has are the low supply, significantly reduced block rewards in a year and proven anonymity, a real world use for this coin would be to provide anonymization/mixing services for people that require high level of privacy. But really need a lightweight and mobile wallet first.

Wouldn't the reduced block reward after a year be a negative thing? Discouraging miners to support it after that year?

If there is demand, the price will adjust, look at monero.

Maybe PoS then... Or Hybrid. To prevent dump. If miners will have interest to keep mined IRD, then they wont dump maybe.

How are you going to stake when nobody has knowledge of the balance of any address? This is cryptonight people not your shitcoin forked from bitcoin core!

Shit like PoS and masternodes would only weaken the security and anonymity, count me out then if you want to experiment.
944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Iridium - People are Power - PoW - Community Built - Low Supply on: October 03, 2017, 11:21:28 AM
To prevent dump the coin maybe it should be better to accept masternodes? People who have 1000s of IRD will cooperate to get masternodes and wont dump their coins.
Or are there any other options to prevent people from dump?

It would be next to impossible IMHO to implement masternodes with cryptonight. It just won't bend that way if you want to keep your anonymity and privacy.

If every pool increase pool fee and will send 50% or any other % to the Dev, it's ok. I don't know why pool operators will be against it.

It ideally needs to be automated and enforceable which is difficult.

Isnt there always an incentive for the pool operator to lower their fees in order to attract miners. We have three pools at the moment, even if we got all of them to agree to the increase in fees with half going to dev to fund the project, nothing is stopping some1 else from starting their own pool with a lower fee. Maybe thats not an issue right now, but it will be if we rely solely on increasing pool fees to support the project.

I can mine monero on a pool with lower fee that does not donate to core devs, but I choose not to, same with this project, more pools are more than welcomed even those that have no fee, means the network is more decentralized and less prone to attacks, people who believe in the project and understand that core devs need funding to make things happen will mine on such pools and gladly donate small part of their hash rate for the project.

It's already implemented in node-cryptonote-pool, the pool code IRD pools run. All they gotta do is set the dev address and the percentage. Monero devs get funded this way for years now.

Code:
"blockUnlocker": {
    "enabled": true,
    "interval": 30, //how often to check block statuses in seconds

    /* Block depth required for a block to unlocked/mature. Found in daemon source as
       the variable CRYPTONOTE_MINED_MONEY_UNLOCK_WINDOW */
    "depth": 60,
    "poolFee": 1.8, //1.8% pool fee (2% total fee total including donations)
    "devDonation": 0.1, //0.1% donation to send to pool dev - only works with Monero
    "coreDevDonation": 0.1 //0.1% donation to send to core devs - only works with Monero
},

URGENT!

POSWallet is delisting all coins except POSW.

Withdraw your ESP among other coins from POSWALLET before 15/10.

Spread the word!
Will they add ESP back to the POSWallet at a later date or is it permanently being removed from the POSWallet?

Doubt it, they already delisted a ton of shitcoins, look at the list

954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HydroMining | Green Mining, environmentally friendly and profitable on: October 02, 2017, 06:36:21 PM
Do i get to pick which coins I want to mine? What about custom/private miners?
HydroMiner mines all scalable cryptocurrencies. The decision as to what currency to mine is made by software algorithms, which choose the best option available at any moment. HydroMiner is also flexible about the mining pools it uses, depending on payouts and liquidity among other factors.

I trust my sanity and research a lot more than "software algorithms" that always fail to see the big picture. Mining what is profitable at the time wont net you any significant profits and you'll ROI in years not months, mining coins that have constant development and proper road map is what nets you decent profit, when everyone wants it it is already too late to mine.

So.. how this "lets-make-the-rich-bastards-richer" coin is going?
Let me be clear - I won't buy something that others get for free.. in case if you're wondering why the volume on exchanges is so low Wink

About the same as it has for the last 10 months.  Why would you ask?

Let me be clear - I don't see that anyone asked you to buy them.

I remember people having the same thoughts on Bitcoin.  I was telling friends 6 years ago to buy it, and like you, they said, "Why buy something that people can just mine for free?"

Nope you didnt get it.
I will buy what i like - but if price is very much long downtrend then people will not use it, its too dangerous to accept some paymen - you need to sell as fast as you can - what makes more pressure to the price etc.

That's why acting rather than reacting on market changes is what separates the men from the boys.
