301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 21, 2017, 12:26:15 PM
Speculation:  Bitcoin crashes when futures go live.  The altcoin rubber-band effect means XMR USD price goes higher initially, several days, then follows BTC down.

What's the reasoning behind the idea that BTC futures will go down? I get the rest of it.

You can sell futures without borrowing BTC.  If you sell enough, the spot market will follow the futures down as arbitrageurs buy the futures and sell at spot.  If you want to accumulate a lot of BTC step 1 is to push the price down as far as possible. And keep pushing until you are full.  Indeed you might simultaneously go short on the margin markets, and cover both at your preferred bottom. Futures have been used to suppress hard money pricing for decades.

Futures markets often end up being far bigger and more important than the actual market they are based upon.  So this is entirely possible, even likely.  I have a hedge fund manager friend who pointed this out and told me that it was what the market (they) had been waiting for to get in.

So this Bitcoin Future is a bad thing ? In what time period we are talking ?

Futures are like margin trading. So shorting or longing Bitcoin. It already exist but not on wall street.   Futures should help stabilize price of Bitcoin so we should not see +10% and -10% a day movements.  but ofcourse it will not stabilize first day. It will push price up a lot and then, might even take years will be huge crash and after that quiet stable price will be found.

After price will stabilize we will get is Bitcoin that will not attract people with x10 price in a year anymore. 90% people now are attracted only by this reason. New people coming after that in Bitcoin will be interested because of technology.
I don't quite understand how futures will affect current Bitcoin price, will Bitcoin futures be redeemable to Bitcoin at the end of each day?

help me! login daha67 hacked account, wallet cryptonator.com there is no signature on the message, can I use the evidence to provide the translation for that address 1PmQKhEvratCxyVXTYBT6BwXYDVKK4qTip . Or what other option is there to prove that I?
Sign a message with your address if indeed you have staked your address here before and PM theymos and hope for the best. Alternatively you can also lock your account if you still control the e-mail you have with that account, a suspension link should have been sent if your password/e-mail changed.

Anonymous author violates the GPL and everyone is celebrating?! I reported this thread to a moderator and wrote a mail to mega.nz to remove this illegal software. Everyone should do the same.
Unfortunately nobody gives a fuck about GPL violations ;/
There are quite a few closed source miners on here that do exactly this and have always remained unsanctioned.

You should sit back and relax. Take a look at the increase in hashrate this dev made on this algo for amd cards.

Just hoping he will consider opening his miner software to other pools.

It doesn't take much effort to change the DNS or even reroute the nicehash IP so you can mine on any pool you wish.
It also doesn't take much effort to remove his fee https://github.com/Demion/nodevfee even easier to linux with netsed.
So yeah if you're pissed at him for violating GPL, violate him instead.

I am not pissed. It just illegal - and it's sad that no one cares. By the way - this software could have a keylogger and might copy your wallet.dat... it's careless to use software from an unknown source just to gain a few percent mining power.

It's possible, but then again why would you keep your coins on the same OS where you mine?

If you wonder what to mine today, check out bitcoin gold...

now listed on bittrex...

By the time your coins mature, the price will crash.
306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is not a bubble on: November 21, 2017, 10:45:34 AM
1.7 trillion was lost when the nasdaq crashed in the dotcom bubble

I didn't dispute that. I also don't dispute that one day a similar amount may be lost in crypto. I'm pointing out that Nasdaq recovered that $1.7 Trillion loss and is now valued at $8.13 trillion. Bitcoin and crypto have been through boom and bust cycles already, more will follow but that will not be the end.

Crypto has multiple bubbles, it's a bubble inside a bubble next to other bubbles.

Hello all! 9x 1080ti's and here are my results for last 24 hours mining XZC and BTX: 4.3xzc and 0.56btx

Contact me if interested g950@abv.bg

Happy mining!

If u want to scam us, please, do the math....  .

I have 9x1080TI and i'm doing 2.2 XZC/day .

Yes, usually 2.2xzc is daily income but if you have an app that switch between the pools automatically for you and a pool with low hashrate find a lot of blocks recently you will reach this results. These coins are mined on Suprnova. If you see last 20 blocks you will see round progress is very low. When the Suprnova doesn't find blocks quickly my app switch to another coin or pool. Last 24 hours: 0.72722307xzc and 1.21906346btx. I am not trying to scam you guys, just share possible results.
You have discovered pool hopping, congratulations you scum.

Robert Kuhne I assume, the alleged developer of mybtgwallet, tons of people reporting their bitcoin stolen after they went full retard and entered their bitcoin mnemonic seed phrase on that website.
You can't cure stupid.

312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: November 20, 2017, 11:58:42 PM
There are 2 issues with buying this sp modded miner:

1) For a small number of cards, you could just purchase a used 480, 580 for roughly the same delta in the hash rate and at least have some residual value.

2) Whatever the maximum percentage increase in the hash rate is for this mod, you could NEVER achieve it, because deployment of this mod will also increase the difficulty. Take the extreme case where everyone mining a particular coin has this mod, there is no benefit for anyone except sp_. The more people that use this mod, the longer the time to recover your investment. You can't use the mod's maximum hash delta to calculate ROI, because the hash rate increase is for the situation where there is only one GPU using this mod.
Finally, someone who understand mining difficulty! LOL

https://www.coindesk.com/cmes-bitcoin-futures-likely-start-trading-december-11/

On the right hand side of this article on Coindesk, there is a survey asking for your vote on:

'Which cryptocurrency would you use to send a transaction you did not want anyone to know anything about?'

Monero is an option and it's second.  Not to Zcash, or (heaven forbid) Dash, but to Bitcoin - this is probably just noob ignorance, a lot of new people around...

I actually think it's good to see that without huge marketing we are getting the message out better than the false claimants to the privacy throne, even if a lot of less aware people still think Bitcoin is 'secret'.

Guys...who knows an exchange that accept PayPal to buy XMR?
Unlikely, your best bet is Payeer, Advcash, Perfect Money or MoneyGram.

I hate hitbtc, you always get dust balances due to the shady way they allow orders to be placed.
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: November 20, 2017, 03:23:22 PM
If Bitcoin Cash is faster, cheaper and more profitable in mining, then it is just a matter of time before it equals the capitalization of BTC. These high fees at BTC will not be accepted...
Yes and we can see that by the drastic transaction decline on the Bitcoin blockchain and drastic increase of transactions on the superior Bitcoin cash blockchain...... Oh wait that's not right.
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 20, 2017, 02:36:37 PM
BTC whales adopting Monero is really a double advantage blade, tag my phrases...

Not to pop your bubble, but i doubt there's any whale that would invest in Monero as long as its coin supply is infinite.
Yes i know you call it tail emission which doesn't make it any better. It's by far the worst property of any coin.
It assures people the value will decrease over time.

All the non-arguments about fees not being enough to keep the miners active are so tiresome, there's no evidence to support that claim and completely oversees the fact that it is self balancing system.

Sure some coins get lost here and there but to assume you can even get a rough estimate of how much this would be is delusional. Why would the coin supply need to stay level? What is wrong with remaining coins being more scarce and gaining value?

If somebody were to fork Monero with a hard cap, now THAT would be a serious competitor in the market.

This right now is nothing but a pump and dump. Infinite coins wheeeee, infinite coins for everybody (just because it's 'slow' doesn't matter, still infinite, making the real value exactly 0)
Are you immortal? With only 157680 XMR a year with tail emission it would take 100 years for 15 million additional Moneros to be mined, I hardly call that infinite

Even at current,  which many fanatics consider to be low, value, that is 20 million usd which is assumed to get lost.
20 million is not even half of the daily trading volume. See how Monero fairs with Bitcoin's emission https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qXi7zUSIh7F6UuSuhOryyFbHEy_LJuym3I3neAga_2s/edit#gid=239466694 And come back.

true words..member since last summer, and u said only ture words. also nice graphic about the btx price, sounds good.. do you do often analytics about btx ? would like to follow

So many idiots investors - it's a good sign which smells profit

I've seen many ppl spreading FUD about BTX price.

Let's remind ourselves that we had a very nice run since the beginning of the month. For those who invested last summer (like myself) would argue that we had a clean and steady growth for a while now.

This month, we went from a low of 60,000 sats to ATH near 700,000 sats! Having pullbacks is perfectly normal and if want to see new ATH, we must go through these retractions.

The good news about BTX price is that we are now following a healthy uptrend support line (pink line), and as long as we follow this line, there is no reason why we could not reach a new ATH in early December.

Following this support line would place us at 500,000 sats on Nov 27.

I invest in many coins and I always try to keep my emotions out of the equation. To answer your question, no I only do this kind of analysis for myself... but I just decided to throw my opinion about price because I've seen many "panic" comment about price in this forum. People tend to buy at new highs and tend spread FUD because the price is going down.

Should have also mentioned that for everyone that heard the expression "averaging down", BTX is the perfect coin for this strategy. Every week you get more coins at $0 cost. How's that for averaging down?

For those who bought over 400,000 sats last week, if you don't sell, on February 26th you'll have doubled your number of BTX, which will reduce your cost by 50%. The coins out there that allow you that kind of return are extremely rare!
100 BTX at 400k sats that's 0.4 BTC
3 free BTX for 3 weeks 9 BTX
4 free BTX for 4 weeks 16 BTX
5 free BTX for 4 Weeks 20 BTX
6 free BTX for 4 weeks 24 BTX
9+16+20+24=69 BTX,
0.4/169 = 0.0023668639 as long as the price does not fall bellow this you're breaking even. Assuming you bought at 0.004.

What's with the names in here. I already saw a wankalone mentioned. Now I see a garytheasshole. What's next?
I love Monero for the record.

Then you would love Aeon too, I assure you. Join our campaign. Your virgin signature space needs loosening up.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1984281.0

Monero and Aeon are practically brothers sired by none other than Smooth himself.
I appreciate your enthusiasm, but there is so much love I can give, plus I like my current signature.
