The bitcoin price has officially achieved a new all-time high price at $8,100, surpassing its previous high at $8,050 established earlier this week. According to the site : http://www.newsbtc.com/2017/11/19/bitcoin-price-achieves-new-time-high-8100-market-confident-institutional-investors/Analysts have attributed the recent surge in the price of bitcoin to the global bitcoin market’s optimism towards the launch of bitcoin futures by CME and CBOE, two of the largest options exchanges in the world, given that hedge funds including the $95 billion firm Man Group have announced their short-term plans of investing in bitcoin upon the launch of CME’s bitcoin futures exchange debut. My question is: Is it true that the current rise is due to "the launch of bitcoin futures by CME and CBOE? ..." I highly doubt that, my best bet is bitfinex printing more tethers so they can avoid bankruptcy.

What's with the names in here. I already saw a wankalone mentioned. Now I see a garytheasshole. What's next?
I love Monero for the record.

BTC whales adopting Monero is really a double advantage blade, tag my phrases...
Not to pop your bubble, but i doubt there's any whale that would invest in Monero as long as its coin supply is infinite. Yes i know you call it tail emission which doesn't make it any better. It's by far the worst property of any coin. It assures people the value will decrease over time. All the non-arguments about fees not being enough to keep the miners active are so tiresome, there's no evidence to support that claim and completely oversees the fact that it is self balancing system. Sure some coins get lost here and there but to assume you can even get a rough estimate of how much this would be is delusional. Why would the coin supply need to stay level? What is wrong with remaining coins being more scarce and gaining value? If somebody were to fork Monero with a hard cap, now THAT would be a serious competitor in the market. This right now is nothing but a pump and dump. Infinite coins wheeeee, infinite coins for everybody (just because it's 'slow' doesn't matter, still infinite, making the real value exactly 0) Are you immortal? With only 157680 XMR a year with tail emission it would take 100 years for 15 million additional Moneros to be mined, I hardly call that infinite

Hey sp_, do you planning to decrease donation cost for your mods? Asking because, due to btc price goes higher and higher, its becoming more expensive for people to buy your kernels. Maybe you have a thoughts to distribute your mods for pure fee system?
No I was planning to increase the donation limit instead. Polytimos sp-mod 0.25BTC for 1 buyer if anyone is interested. No other copies will be spread by me.. new coin https://polytimos.netPolytimos's Market cap is not 0.25 BTC. Looks like the same scumbags as sigt, lux et al

Not surprising given the amount of USD tethers issued out of the blue https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/tether/This will end up as another MtGox, bitfinex will bankrupt and lots of people will be out of their USDTs and Bitcoins. Can only hope the bubble will be big enough for bitfinex to repay their 70 something million stolen, but i doubt that, it will all blow up and we'll see bitcoin on 1k-2k levels if not less.

Just remove the fee yourself, fuck sp https://github.com/Demion/nodevfee/ Needs a bit tinkering but it will work.

Problem is that on-chain scalability is no sustainable scalability solution.
Of course. 'Everybody knows that'. Of course, 'everybody' also knows that 'anything over 1MB is unsafe'. Funny that BCH is chugging along at 8MB. They're chugging along with about 20kb blocks, barely any transactions in their blocks.

Any help if it is possible to mine monero with "Alienware AW15R3-7376SLV-PUS 15.6" Gaming Laptop (7th Generation Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, 128SSD + 1 TB HDD, Silver) VR Ready with NVIDIA GTX 1070" and the approximate Hashing Power with GPU mining.
I will use the laptop at work during 6h/1day so I am not paying electricity cost. is it possible to pay back the laptop during 3 to 6 months.
Thank you
ROI in 6 months, I highly doubt that. I highly doubt he'll ROI in 6 years.

I am mining BTX by using GPU, I have several Nvidia GPU and some AMD GPU, mining software is working fine in the nvidia GPU, but it will fail to find AMD GPU. I use mining software provided by mining pool. I am sure is AMD and OpenCL version. And my mining rig is AMD RX 580 and RX 570.
Is there anyone who is mining BTX by AMD GPU?Could you give me suggestions about where may be the problems.
Would help if you can describe the problems before someone can give you any suggestions.

This is way off topic but I have bitcoin paper wallets that I want to split the bcash from and buy more monero. Whats the best way to go about doing this?
https://github.com/Bitcoin-ABC/bitcoin-abc and have fun downloading the full bitcoin blockchain, then just import your private keys.

I don't understand what that means, can you please explain? Above the chart, next to Zoom, click on 1d, note the blue spike at 12am, hover the mouse above the blue line to get actual numbers of total circulating supply and correspond that with bitcoin's price spike. Those 30 something million tethers appeared out of no where, all in one big lump, weird eh?

Damn, I am willing to invest in Bitcoin and buy as much as I can, however I am still afraid it will not go up, but start falling, like it has happened before. If I would know for sure it will rise and rise, I would put all money in BTC.
The aim is to buy them when they're relatively cheap, not when they're at an ATH, markets tend to correct themselves after ATH.

Now btc is $8200 and I can see it only going higher and higher. I guess $10000 by the year's end. Nice nice profits. If you invest your Bitcoin well you can make even more. Imagine if you grew it with Yolodices investment option. You could have doubled your btc in the time Yolodice has been open and profit even more from the rise in USD value for btc. Brilliant!!
Really subtle SPAM, bravo, *clap*, *clap*, *clap*.

I have a btc wallet that holds a couple btc and is also entitled to receive btx in the 2nd snapshot. My dilemma is that my btc wallet is used by a lot of other btc services. Changing to a new btc wallet would be a lot of effort and some services do not even allow for wallet change without signing up a new account.
Can someone suggest a secured way to extract btx from this wallet while also letting me continue using this wallet safely?
thanks.
If you trust the Bitcore wallet, it is safe to import your private keys in it, there's replay protection so you can continue using your same bitcoin addresses.
