621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin SegWit2x Fork [B2X] Got Cancelled on: November 08, 2017, 07:46:32 PM
Bet those people who bought B2X futures feel pretty fucking stupid now. HAHA!

genocide

"Asking 'What good is privacy?' if you have nothing to hide is like asking 'What good is free speech?' when you have nothing to say."

If you think the fundamental human right to privacy is important enough to kill or die for then you should certainly be willing to get rich for it.  (That would include anyone who took an oath to defend the Constitution of the U.S. from all enemies, foreign and domestic.)

Most guys will figure out they have things they want to keep private, or their wife's divorce attorney will figure it out for them  Tongue

I'd love to see a billboard that reads "Getting divorced? SHUM! Should Have Used Monero"

However at the moment, shorters are in trouble.
624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: November 06, 2017, 05:23:12 PM
A gtx 1070 with my mod does $1.5 a day without power costs.
Hasn't it been a bit more than that this month? But yes, Vega is the cryptonight king

Yes. The prrofit fluctate from day to day.
The gtx 1070 numbers Hash/watt is close to the vega performance. But you need the sp-mod optimized binaries. (0.05btc)
The gtx 1070 compares to the vega on cryptonight? What kind of Chinese drugs have you been smoking?
625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 06, 2017, 10:31:45 AM
And why did you answer the question I asked aminorex?

I do that all the time. Is it taboo? Huh Lips sealed

I don't think so, we are a community of friends who all help out. Nothing wrong with that.

Thanks guys, I was indeed just answering in an effort to help.  I hope we will all continue to do so - many people on here have helped me out before and I really appreciated it.

What goes around...

Who flagged my post and got it deleted? And why? Anyone else having perfectly innocuous posts deleted by mods? Very strange.

Same here (and the same thread).

Am scratching my head too, seems pretty innocuous stuff.
Only trolls are allowed to post here apparently. Anyway happy I've reached my $88 target!

Just as another FYI, over the last three months it's been more profitable holding bitcoin then investing in mining gear (assuming GPUs). This month it was six times more profitable holding earnings and not buying new gear. Not talking altcoins which are more like gambling, talking bitcoin. Also talking pure revenue, not including stuff like power.

mining gear make you more bitcoin, holding bitcoin won't make your number of coins grow, just saying...
It will if you sell at peaks and buy the dips.
627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Iridium - People are Power - PoW - No Premine - Community Built on: November 05, 2017, 10:58:04 AM
The front-end of the mine77 pool is alive again (was stalled for 24 hours). Payouts have resumed as well. The pool itself was apparently running all the time, as previously suspected. Good thing is that hash power is now shared kind of 50/50 between mine77 and irdpool. I'd happily move some workers to the third pool (ird.uvac) as well once it allows fixed share diffculty setting. The other two pools have this feature, even though it is undocumented on their "getting started" pages.
How to set fixed share diff? I use ccminer-x64.

I would like to know this too. Anyone?
If pool doesn't support user specified diff or a fixed diff on a given port you're shit out of luck.
628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: November 04, 2017, 06:27:41 PM
When first ever ICO is running in side the wallet of Byteball my expectations were to see this showing some effect on the price. But the market valuation is telling other story as we are facing more decrease in value as it slipped under 0.03 BTC. I am not worried but can't understand the logic.
Most probably haven't even got the news about the ICO, just got their airdrop and dumped.
629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v10.2 on: November 04, 2017, 06:22:11 PM

Only 13% more - so far.  Of course it's tanking.  All alts are tanking.   Everyone jumping out of alts to buy bitcoin simply because of FOMO.  Not only is bitcoin jumping, but people want the forks.  Why would you be in an alt when you can get Bitcoin cash, gold, 2x, silver, platinum, and every other jump clone for free.   So, you could (just like people are doing with byteball, sell off the free stuff to buy more bitcoin and get all those free things as well (without even trying to claim them).  The real issue is if you can time it right to buy into the alts of your choice (like byteball) when all the forking splits are done.  Good luck.

Exactly, bitcoin is nothing but a overpriced shitcoin now, value being held up by scam forks. We will likely see a massive dump of btc as people flee back into best altcoins very soon  Smiley

Don't hold your breath. Bitcoin is still the daddy, it's not about the price nor technology, it's about adoption and popularity.

adoption of bitcoin is a myth, nobody is using when it costs $50 per transaction
Be real seriously, really, Bitcoin has the largest userbase, it's not a myth, it's reality. I don't see why we need to argue about something that is more than obvious and go off topic. Sure there may be far better alt coins than bitcoin, but the reality is very few people have even heard of them, however even my grandma has heard of bitcoin.

Great so bitcoin whales get to have BTX before anyone else.

If bitcoin had 20MB blocks full nodes would have to keep more than 1tb of blockchain data, so yeah big blocks don't really solve scaling issues.
For sure it does. You could distribute the same amount of transactions just to less blocks. The size difference just depends on the overhead and the rate the blocks are filled with transactions.
And if not you would be trading storage requirements for transaction speed. Which is in my opinion a good idea since storage is cheap.
You don't only need to store the data, you must be able to access it, and read times go up proportionally with size. It's a hack, a trade off, not a solution.

Withdrawals never failed me, I use freebitco as a low fee wallet with the slow option, I don't keep all my balance there though, just what I can afford to lose.

I was suprised that the price of Doubloon plummeted to the 10 satoshi range just now as I am looking at it on coinmarketcap. Went ahead and got back to the main thread only to find the sad news nova exchange will close. Does anybody know why Nova is closing soon?
All altcoin bleed these days, even alts with billions in market share, why would BOAT be any different? Bitcoin has a bull run but it will run out of steam soon and markets will adjust.
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Gold Mining on: November 02, 2017, 01:14:41 PM
Hey guys,

just read a post about the new hardfork. I heard that the mining difficulty for Bitcoin Gold will be again "easy". Is that true? Can I use the cards I use for ethereum mining, for Bitcoin Gold?

Thank you in advance!

I would wait and see the outcome of November.  It can either make or break the coin and there is too much that is unknown right now. Is there a pre-mine, is there going to be a lot of miners, a lot of traders, or nothing at all. They are expecting people to trade a $5500 coin for something that is pretty unknown in value and every other aspect.
Mining should start within 1h allegedly https://bitcoingold.org/day-1-testnet/
There is a 100k premine, and about 200 people mine on testnet at https://btg.suprnova.cc/index.php?page=login
