441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: November 16, 2017, 10:37:56 AM
There is no quote. If you disagree with my assertion, then please respond, copying the quote -- verbatim -- from the aforementioned article.

In case you need a refresher:
https://themerkle.com/bch-eda-was-designed-to-cause-bitcoin-network-congestion-former-dev-claims/

here is the quote i am talking about and whaddya know it's clearly linked to in the article. indeed the entire article is about this quote. it wouldn't have been much of an article without it.

damn, people in this thread are strange.
Can't blame them if they wasted their hard earned bitcoins on this shit, I'd be crying myself to sleep if I ended up holding a huge bag of dicks.

The mods and trolls think they are the guardians of the name bitcoin.....

THEY ARE LIARS AND ARE AFRAID OF BITCOIN CASH, THAT IS WHY USERS ARE BANNED....DISGUSTING TBH
No, just regular average people with more than 2 brain cells.
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: November 15, 2017, 05:21:39 PM
Certainly the least have more than 1 to 2 bitcoins here. If you want to keep as 2 bitcoins you can not make any money. Unless you bought early and did not spend. Now you have the chance to buy cheap bitcoin cash and to wait for the price to rise
You're much better off throwing your bitcoins at altcoins with some technical merit, BCH has none.
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: November 15, 2017, 04:52:00 PM
Hi guys. Does Monero have a serious equivalent to an Electrum lite wallet?

I don't want to download the chain and I don't want to use any centralized website wallet services.

Please let me know.
You can always trust a remote node if you don't want to hold the entire blockchain and be as safe as you can be

What do you think about BitMEX's idea of selling users' BCH instead of crediting their accounts?

http://bitcoinist.com/bitmex-volume-dump-bitcoin-cash-bitcoin/

Quote
Users will not receive Bitcoin Cash, rather BitMEX will sell all users’ Bitcoin Cash, and credit their wallet with the Bitcoin proceeds

and additionally

Quote
Do not expect future coins to be credited in this way. BitMEX reserves the right to credit forks or not – in the presence of doubt, always withdraw first.

Looks like BitMEX wants to hold onto the forked coins. Exchanges are like banks, their reserve keep growing. when they credit their account holders the money doesn't leave it just goes back into them and thats the funny thing with banks but atleast cryptos allow for accountability.
Brilliant idea, I wish all exchanges did this.
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: November 15, 2017, 03:50:42 PM
https://coingeek.com/bitcoin-cash-btc-roger-ver/

Eli: “Do you think Bitcoin Cash is a threat to the Blockstream business model?”

Roger: “[pauses]…YES! – *laughs loudly* it’s a huge huge threat, I think mostly because they don’t seem to have many Bitcoins either… otherwise they’d be more concerned with making Bitcoin more widespread – supply is limited, as more people use it, price will go up. Adam Back had an invitation directly from Satoshi when Bitcoin hadn’t even launched yet and he had such a poor understanding of the economics of Bitcoin that he didn’t bother to get involved until it was a thousand dollars each… that should make anybody stop and ask ‘why did I trust this guy to guide the Bitcoin scaling roadmap”.

LOL Adam Back is like the only guy credited in the original release of satoshi's bitcoin from the current dev team.

Where are the shills? I guess they had enough when they got red tagged, HA!
Where is that guy who said it I had screws loose if I shorted BCH at 0.21 because "buy" wallts?
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Ethereum: Which is the Future Cryptocurrency on: November 15, 2017, 02:58:23 PM
I don't think Ether has what it takes to stand the test of time. Bugs such as these https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/nov/08/cryptocurrency-300m-dollars-stolen-bug-ether will be its downfall. Although I have to admit the technology itself is amazing, but needs a lot of testing before it can be safe for mainstream use.

BCH is waiting to explode just like it was before.

Explode? Uhm... yeah... in terms of the growing number of people who realize that this is perhaps the worst shitcoin that crypto has seen so far, yap.

Why do you think so? Where is proof?

Somewhere deep in the abyss of his bag full of BCH Grin

457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 15, 2017, 01:29:49 PM
I like Monero but I always like to compare my coins to the competition, and in this case, the competition is unfortunately ahead and much more superior than Monero. Zcash, do I need to say more? Why is Zcash the most well capitalized crypto out there (focusing on private transactions?). There must be a reason for that, they simply have a better technology than Monera and this has been confirmed by so many. Monero doesn't even only have such competition, they have other competitors out of their industry (privacy sector) such as Ethereum, which will soon implement the same technology that Zcash is using. So you'll have Ethereum that can do all these crazy things (smart contacts) and do them privately, and then have Monero which can only do one thing, transact privately. Why would you choose Monero over that?
Because Monero is better in every measurable way. Have fun with your "superior" technology https://zcoin.io/zcoins-zerocoin-bug-explained-in-detail/ https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/i-accidentally-killed-it-parity-wallet-bug-locks-150-million-in-ether/

459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2x is dead, long live Bitcoin on: November 15, 2017, 11:28:27 AM
Is it not quite obvoius that Bitcoin is in dire need of a update?

As i understand it bitcoin can only handle 2000 transactions every 10minutes, Globaly. This sounds like a very low amount. I imagine a future where i got a Visa card with bitcoins. In that future there must be like 1 miljon transactions every 10mintues.
Already now we have a problem with transactions, if segwit2x where implementet, it would only raise the cap to 4000, which only would of solved the problem for a short period.

What's the plan to fix this? How could there be a future for bitcoin if this is not fixed? Im currently invested with 2BTC, and for me this is the biggest worry for bitcoin.
The plan is LN https://lightning.network/ Which will be ready soon™
It will make big blockers look like relics of a forgotten past.
Changes like these take time and testing you don't want to rush things when you're dealing with something that hold billions of people's dollars.
