1201  Economy / Economics / Re: What will be the effects of China's central bank declaring all crypto illegal? on: October 18, 2021, 03:20:44 PM
I don't actually think their laws will get rid of crypto.
A single country can not eliminate bitcoin, see the recent China FUD, bitcoin was down 5% to a price around $41000, but just few days after, the price soar to over $50000. Bitcoin price now at $57000.
yes you are right, one country will not make bitcoin disappear. no matter what their efforts, bitcoin and crypto will survive. so I think they're doing something pointless. even if the country were to withdraw from all things crypto-related, it would only have a temporary effect. and will have no effect in the long term.

Certainly there's no country who can control and take command crypto like bitcoin, even the most powerful country like USA cannot make the industry vanish or dissolve it.
Bitcoin is unstoppable and can survive many negative remarks and especially doesn't depend on China's position about bitcoin. Yes they may create a big impact on markets value but it won't last for long because it's just a short-term effect.

I bet China couldn't even keep track about their citizens using bitcoin or mining btc even if their government keeps on banning bitcoin and other cryptocurrencie or something that is related.
1202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter - Nov. 20 on: October 18, 2021, 10:49:05 AM
Well, seeing their records and what they've done inside the ring, I assume this has a good fight, really has.
But I put my bets for Terence, not just because he has a clean record (0-losses), he also has the reach advantage. Well, I expect higher odds for Terence Crawford as he was more popular as he was linked to Manny for a possible fight before he ends his boxing carrier.

You won't be seeing high odds for Terrence Crawford as he is the Favorite in this match. High odds are given not to the dominant one. Being linked to Manny also no relation for the odds change.

If you really like to bet on Crawford, expect odds are not that profitable unless you are ready to bet a big amount.

Try checking some sportsbooks now and see for yourself if it's profitable.

He can still get a good odds, but not on ML.

Hopefully, crypto bookies will open up a line for handicaps. And that's where the fun begins as we are going to look for attractive odds, like per round, or the exact round or even KO win for Crawford.

Betting options like Winner by either TKO or Decision and in what round the fight will end always have good odds. Since the fight is about a month to go, some betting options are not lived yet. While the fight is approaching, we can expect that more options will be open.

But I will not place a bet for either of those. It's crazy and difficult for me to predict what round it will end or how the match will decide.

Me either, I find it hard to predict what round will the match end or will this two fighters fight until the last second of round 12. But I heard that some are already predicting that this fight will not last for over 10 rounds.

My predicition is this will be end via split decision in the favor of Shawn Porter.
Porter had faced many tough fights and can withstand any opponent that has a reach advantage like this fight, although Crawford has a flawless record. I reckon he won't defeat my boy Porter tho.
1203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin/ETH replace fiat someday? on: October 18, 2021, 08:56:20 AM
To fight against the control of USD thus create an anchor for people all around the global, or to make transactions apparent in cyber world, Bitcoin was coined by Satoshi(the second one is more valid).
Will the day come when everyone uses Bitcoin in daily payment(supposing new tech is applied to avoid high gas fee) and thus fiat gets abandoned? Or it won't because the amount of Bitcoin is set and all Bitcin is practically manipulated by capitalists...
Obviously , it's nearly impossible for Bitcoin to realize permant and global circulation due to its high price and scarcity, which renders it harder to take the place of fiat but it sounds that ETH is likely to be an anchor and a tool for daily use alike, surpassing BTC is feasible.
They say, if a country is at war or in upheaval, buying Bitcoin is not wise for its high volatility and USD is a better choice.
How do you think Smiley

It's very likely that most people in the future will get to use cryptos such as bitcoin and eth for daily basis or transactions if legal tender allows so. But I don't think that the fiat will be abandoned in the near future because even if the government allows its citizens to use the bitcoin or eth freely and legalize it, still fiat are gonna be their and the authorities will continously make it because it is backed and it has a real value. There are still citizens who favors fiat to trade or buy something physically like the commodities while also using btc as form of payment online.
1204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia took third place in the world in bitcoin mining on: October 18, 2021, 07:15:58 AM
Russia took third place in the world in bitcoin mining

Russia came third in the world in bitcoin mining - according to data from the University of Cambridge, the country's share in the total computing power of miners reached 11% in August, compared with 6.8% in April.

Read more on RBC:
https://www.rbc.ru/crypto/news/6166cf219a794795164d04a8

https://cbeci.org/mining_map

Are the miners from China already relocated in Russia? Or is it just the Russian citizens only? If they're starting to relocate then there's more than this list, I think.
Occupying the 3rd position in countries who have the most miners is indeed great for the crypto industry and also the Russian president is in the friendly position about bitcoin. This is a good news in the industry as another super-power country adopts bitcoin despite China's banning of all crypto transactions and minings.
1205  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto will rival or replace fiat in 10 years? on: October 18, 2021, 05:50:55 AM
76% of finance professionals believe that digital assets “will serve as a strong alternative to, or outright replacement for, fiat currencies in the next 5-10 years,” according to Deloitte’s annual global blockchain survey.

Is there any possibility that this could happen or this was just another speculation that is impossible to believe, but if we are going to look at the percentage of finance professionals that believe on the possible replacement of fiat with digital assets I think we are in 90% basis in favor of rival or replacement of fiat. Show me your comments about this news guys if you believe or not with this possible replacement?

Indeed, crypto especially bitcoin will likely to replace fiat in 5 to 10 years. Most of the finance professsionals and analyst says the same thing that it will possibly happen in the future.
As of today, crypto currencies don't have a chance to stand against fiat because fiat is issued by the government and trusted by the citizens so it makes it more credible while bitcoin or crypto isn't regulated nor backed by the government.
Due to fiats scarcity and inflation, many people starts to believe in crypto because its more valuable than fiat or gold and given markets volatility, many still believe that crypto will surpass fiats in the near future.
1206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm sure altcoins will pump if we hold long on: October 17, 2021, 06:01:14 PM
Not all altcoins will give you the satisfaction you wanted and imagined because not every altcoins will give you huge profits. I myself only consider 3-4 altcoins that I studied before investing and to put in my portfolio and hold it to have profits. Depending on the altcoins, some will only be good for a short-term and some are best for long-term investment like bitcoin and eth or even NFT.

Just be careful OP because there are lots of altcoins today and most altcoins can't give you competitive returns. Don't be fooled and give yourself some knowledge before you invest.
1207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Putin believes Bitcoin has value on: October 17, 2021, 02:08:07 PM
Russia is adopting a different attitude towards cryptos than China. President Putin has come public saying "Bitcoin has value but it cannot be used in the Oil trade"

I guess Putin didn't still fully grasp the real potential of cryptos as he says
Quote
“Cryptocurrency is not supported by anything as of yet. It may exist as a means of payment, but I think it’s too early to say about the oil trade in cryptocurrency.”
But even so, it shows that Russia seems to be adopting a friendly position facing cryptocurrency and it may be having some impact on the industry. Given that China adopted a harsh position towards cryptos, is it possible that miners are relocating from China to Russia? Is it possible for Russia to step up to occupy the former place China had in Bitcoin? I guess this is what is happening, otherwise, Putin wouldn't come public with such a neutral position.

That means Russia is open to bitcoin discussion and use bitcoin as medium of payment either local or international. Especially their president Vladimir Putin says something about bitcoin positively and that will have an impact to the market and its value.
For now, they aren't open yet about the oil trade using bitcoin but this can be the start for the Russian citizens to also use bitcoin.
And yes it is possible that the miners will be relocating to Russia.
1208  Economy / Economics / Re: What is better - cryptocurrency trading or investing? on: October 17, 2021, 07:43:40 AM
I have been a day trader but want to know if it’s a good idea to hold bitcoin for long, whether it will be more profitable?

You can do both trading and holding bitcoin at the same time. Being a day trader comes with medium to high risk because if your goal is to buy low and sell high then you can't always do that due to markets high volatility and that my friend is a risk. I suppose you can trade every week and not for a daily basis.
While on the other hand, holding bitcoins is considered a long-term investment and can give you competitive returns in the future. You don't need to check the value daily because as said, it is a long-term investment.

So you can do trade from daily to weekly basis while also holding btc.
1209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advantages Of Crypto, Disadvantages of Crypto on: October 17, 2021, 05:25:46 AM
Crypto is such a big help to our economy in many ways, and it can be used against inflation and make financial transactions easy. It can be also used to acquire wealth and investments or make you financially comfortable. But there are pros and cons in it.

Advantages:
* Possible High Returns
* High Security and Low Risk of Fraud
* Transparent Records
* Fast and Immediate Transactions with Low Fee

Disadvantages:
* High Volatility
* Medium to High Risk Loss
* Unregulated

I think cyber security doesn't belong to the disadvantages of crypto because crypto itself has a high security and difficult to breach. Cyber security issues are found only on the crypto owners who have failed to secure their accounts.
1210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Tips- what kind of strategies do you use when playing? on: October 16, 2021, 03:36:47 PM
I fell in love with poker when the whole Texas Hold'em craze started around 2003-4ish range.  I was in college at the time and man we played every single night for months on end.  Bought a chip set as well which I still have.  Unfortunately I haven't been playing as much as I'd like to lately, but plan to start getting in to playing more soon.  I'm just curious what kind of strategies you guys employ when playing?  I know there aren't a ton of tricks one can use, but there are some out there.  I guess there's also a big difference when you're playing in person ( bluffing strategies ) vs playing online.  I'd like to hear tips/tricks/strategies for both!

Poker is one of the few gambling activites that needs pure-talent or skill to play with. The tricks and strategies varies in online and physical play. Because bluffing can be a dangerous one especially if you play in physically in a room of people and depends on how you interact with your opponents.
These are common strategies from beginners to advance players.

* Use non-made hands with backdoor flush draws to bluff
* Check-raise more frequently from the big blind
* Pocket pairs and suited connectors are money-maker in multiway pots
* Don't be afraid to check-raise with draws after calling a 3-bet
* Consider overbetting when you have the nut advantage

I copied this from the link because their words and terms are more suitable and easy to understand than mine.

1211  Economy / Economics / Re: Who is Happier: Stock investors or Bitcoin investors on: October 16, 2021, 10:34:01 AM
One of the sure-fire ways to build wealth is by investing your money, especially in stocks from a company with strong fundamentals.  Interestingly in recent times cryptocurrencies most especially Bitcoin has been the talk of the town due to its massive ROI.

Warren Buffett is one of the most successful  stock investors, in the world. Yet, Buffett has said he won’t ever buy the cryptocurrency for several reasons . Other hand  Michael Saylor, an early Bitcoin investor and proponent has  been credited with  institutional Bitcoin boom in December 2020. He has made billions of dollars from Bitcoin.
There are others like Mr Buffett and Mr Michael all over the world.

Truth be told  both investors are doing very well.  My question now is , Who is Happier?  Is it the Stock investor or the Bitcoin investor?

There's no definite answer to that question OP, ofcourse both of them are happy with their own respective field. Truth is nobody can command you where to invest, instead being an investor who wants to make profit then you should begin to invest to yourself in knowledge or research what investment is the best for yourself and suits you.

But I think the answer depends on who makes more profit anually or daily. Both options can get you a promising returns if you invest it well. And perhaps it can change your way of living dramatically happy and comfortabe.
1212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason why businesses should accept Bitcoin payment on: October 16, 2021, 07:58:38 AM
the reason companies accept bitcoin is that as a way of paying in business, it can be a solid and promising market today. This is predicted to pave the way for you to face competitors and improve your business performance. We must keep up with the times, we must dance according to the musical instruments being played.

But what about the issue of volatility of bitcoin? Say for example that a person who works from a big company starts to accept bitcoin as a form of his/her salary, yes we could safely say that bitcoin now is on the hype and currently $61k. But what if the value starts to drop dramatically, maybe the remaining option their is to hold that crypto and wait for the market to recover.
Yes truly, we must dance according to the music and keep up with the time. But I still think best that the employee can have an option of to receive the salary by cash (fiat) or in crypto form.
1213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safe Gold investments and viability on: October 16, 2021, 06:17:32 AM
Hey, you guys, I plan to invest in the gold project recently, but given the previous experience heard from various quarters, Is it still safe and can anyone recommend it as viable? thanks a lot.

Yes it's still safe and recommandable investment because gold is scarce, highly valuable and historically proven that is worth to invest. Still there's a chance of risk because gold is also volatile on the market nowadays. Given that it's a precious metal or as a commodity, it can provide you profits in return in the future but it's not a hedge against inflation.
Bitcoin in the other hand can be a best defense against inflation and proven to provide competitive returns than gold. It is also a good investment in todays generation.
1214  Economy / Economics / Re: [LIST] Countries that own bitcoin on: October 16, 2021, 05:21:51 AM
I remember that Bulgaria seized a large amount 213,519 of Bitcoin from criminals. It is official, I guess they still hold it.

Bulgarian Government Has Stated That It Owns Some 213,519 Bitcoins – Valued At Approximately 18% Of Its National Debt – That Have Been Seized From A Criminal Network.

source: https://www.coininsider.com/bulgarian-government-owns-3-billion-usd-bitcoin/

Yes it's true that the Bulgarian Governemnt seized a large amount of bitcoins from criminals but I don't think that they're still holding that amount up to now because if I'm not mistaken they already sold it on the auction few years ago.
While El Salvador is the first country to make bitcoin a legal tender officialy, still there's a long path to maintain that statement because their president isn't gonna be long on the throne. Also, there are some countries who already owns bitcoin like China, USA and Russia but they didn't state it publicly because they can't afford that the people will know where that funds goes to.
1215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All crypto declared illegal in China!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: October 15, 2021, 02:09:58 PM
That might be true, but the risks to individuals in mainland China is extremely huge if one is considered to be an enemy of the people, state and party. That is not going to be a fun ride to puy it mildly.

In any case this takes away a lot of the potential crypto could have had in the future and will probably cause a reaction in the next weeks, months and maybe years to come.

This is why I couldn't blame other Chinese citizens to stay away from mainland China and seek shelter or freedom in Special Administrative Region (SAR) like Hong Kong or Macau. Those said regions are more likely to experience freedom and free speech and doesn't need to be scared of their mainland's Socialism.
Nevertheless, I think the cryptocurrencies are still widely used by the citizens in SAR especially in Macau that gambling is allowed like and they are known to be the Las Vegas of the East and probably using crypto as a form of payment or part of their transactions. I think this declaration of China isn't gonna make a huge impact for the cryptocurrencies.
1216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this a right time to buy some ethereum?. on: October 15, 2021, 12:49:39 PM
Ethereum looks very Bullish now and likely to hit 4K in few days if Bitcoin remains Bullish. Once Ethereum's major upgrade occurs sometime in late 2021 or early 2022, one simulation estimates that the circulating supply of Ethereum could shrink by around 1.4% each year at current rates of fee burning. Is this the right time to collect eth and wait till upgrade happen?.

If you ask when is the right time to buy eth then you are already late for about 3-5 years now. But don't worry because eth is still stable and it is predicted to have a positive promising growth in the future. Everyday is almost a perfect time to buy eth rather than just thinking when, and now is the best time to collect/buy eth because it will potentially follow its rise after btc.
Despite its pull back eth is expected or estimated to reach atleast $20k few years from now following their huge upgrade.
1217  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC is helping out Cubans and Venezuelans on: October 15, 2021, 06:14:22 AM
Well am glad to hear this, reason why btc is a good substitute for fiat, in the case where fiat fail to meet all requirements of it's citizens btc will be a fine substitute to such country from their dying currency,  this must mean the Cubans must need a huge amount of their dying currency to buy btc otherwise how else will they be able to get hold of btc, Am just wondering  Embarrassed

See? Bitcoin is already spreading widely, now a lot of Cubans and Venezuelans are already experiencing what Satoshi wanted for all of us. Bitcoin is indeed a big help for everyone anywhere in the world, even in remote areas.
Because of inflation, fiat currencies nowadays doesn't make that much of a living, people need other income that has great value like bitcoin.

I just hope though that their government will allow and won't intervene about the usage of bitcoin in the said countries. If their government is pro-bitcoin then there will be no problem unlike China.
1218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the most popular bitcoin-only poker sites? on: October 14, 2021, 03:53:49 PM
I can't believe that there are people who really play online casinos.

Even now, many people has more involved or drawn with online casinos during this pandemic because of the lockdown they can't go to casinos personally. Data shows that more people has been gambling into online casinos since the pandemic to relieve stress or because of boredom of just staying at home.

In addition to your post, even before the pandemic there are already online casinos that has been established and making money legitimately.
1219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good ways to trade? on: October 14, 2021, 02:50:36 PM
First, you have to get more knowledge about that token which you want to trade In my opinion you should always make an investment in a new Altcoin and you should always make an eye on that token.

I agree on you mate! Before choosing the altcoins you want to invest, you should gather information and research it first on what's the potential of the coin you choosed to target or speculations. It's always good to bear in mind that whatever you choose, you should have a profit and make more gains than loses. Remember, trade or invest only what you can afford to lose.

Anyways here are some of the best altcoins you should look into.
