1221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your wishes for BTC in coming years? on: January 15, 2023, 11:59:49 PM
More user friendly access around the world let's people know better about it. For now it is understood as a way to make money and this mentality needs to change. The service availability in exchange for bitcoin is found in a specific region, and there is need for a diversified execution. For this to happen we need support from governments, which isn't gonna happen in the near days. In terms of growth what is happening is the real growth and let it continue without much of influencers disturbing the market.
1222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 15, 2023, 11:34:07 PM
Zimbabwe vs Ireland match Zimbabwe need 34 runs to win and they have four overs and they need to collect 34 runs in these four overs to win the match. 34 runs off 24 balls is not a big challenge.  If Zimbabwe try well they can collect these runs and the match is possible for them and I think Zimbabwe will win the match.  Ireland set a good target though as 141 runs is not a small target in T20I matches. However, Zimbabwe are potential  to win the match due to their slightly better performance
Zimbabwe vs Ireland, 3rd T20I match Zimbabwe won by 4 wickets. Zimbabwe won the series by winning the first T20I and the third T20I. In this series, whoever ball first win the match. When Ireland decided to bowl in the 2nd match they won the match. It was said to be good for chasing. There is another ODI series between Zimbabwe vs Ireland and how far Ireland can progress by that series that will be the key point.
Ireland that was strong during the T20 world cup have come down. Maybe in the upcoming series it can make its progress. Zimbabwe seems to keep its position good, winning the series is good. The performance from both the teams were almost similar and these teams into regular tournament will keep them at good position than having big breaks.
1223  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Call centres selling fake crypto taken down in Bulgaria, Serbia and Cyprus on: January 15, 2023, 11:18:04 PM
Good news from Europol - some call centres selling fake crypto were taken down.

From time to time we may hear about people who received a phone calls with a very attractive investment proposal. Many of that people accepted the risk and gave their money to scammers. It looks like for some time we will have much less phone calls like that, as many centres has been taken down.

Some details on Europol page: https://www.europol.europa.eu/media-press/newsroom/news/call-centres-selling-fake-crypto-taken-down-in-bulgaria-serbia-and-cyprus

(do I understand correctly they inform about the action one year after, or someone made a mistake with a date? publication date is Jan 12th 2023)
We are in 2023 but how there are still people out there who invest their money because they got random person from phone call with an attractive proposal? If they search about the proposal on the Google itself will give what is that exactly means but people are still blind to trust someone and hope they will make them rich.
People have connected through internet. Almost from the kids we were able to see each and every activity is now connected to the network in some means. This makes the people to be easy prey for such scams. Another thing, whenever something happens good automatically someone will get into it through some means to collapse its growth. Now these incidents will surely make people fear to invest into cryptocurrencies.
1224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin helps the economy of all circles on: January 15, 2023, 11:15:09 PM
Bitcoin helps every people in different economic status based on the investment capability. Once it was affordable as a whole for every level of people and by the time very few believed in it. Now things have changed and people look for opportunities to invest. The smallest denomination available for investment makes it an easy investment choice and people have realized the fact of this being a potential market to grow than considering it a quick rich scheme.
1225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks do not want bitcoin to become popular on: January 15, 2023, 11:03:01 PM
~snip~
This is the whole point, why many banks that operate in a traditional way will never like bitcoin. Normal Banks lend out money that they do not have, because the laws allow them to do it. With bitcoin this is not possible. There is a fixed amount and you can not just send somebody bitcoins that you created on paper. At least if you do that people will see it instantly and will not accept them or want a discount.

There's simply no need for a traditional bank when dealing with Bitcoin.

It's just peer to peer, direct transfer of money, anywhere in the world, with low fees.

Why on earth would you need a bank for?

You don't need to ask permission to open an account, you don't need to ask permission to use your money, etc.

Bitcoin really is revolutionary, yet most people are so used to the legacy banking system that they don't see how much better Bitcoin is.

But unfortunately, you and I still live in a centralized world run by governments; fiat and banks still dominate the financial markets. You will still need a bank because all your daily spending is fiat, you need banks and exchanges to convert your bitcoins to fiat. Bitcoin is a revolution, it is very good, but it cannot replace or compare with banks, banks provide us with many services. Similarly, why do we still need exchanges today even though they are centralized like traditional banks? Both are necessary for us, I will be happy to see both coexist and support our life more perfectly.
Agreed, banks and cryptocurrencies to coexist is a good thing. The same won't happen easily, because the technology used by cryptocurrency isn't adopted by most of the banks. The traditional financial system doesn't want the transparency and for that reason very few banking service providers have begun to use the blockchain technology. Over time we can see the transition. For now it is the banks people depend on for every needs, and even now banks fear that cryptocurrencies were taking away the entire revenue.
1226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How wrongful can this go? on: January 14, 2023, 11:36:48 PM
I don't like giving out my private information for any project or platforms online and I have no choice but to provide wrong personal details in order to maintain anonymity, how bad can this get if anything happens to the website system?

Is this a wrongful approach to online casinos that requires KYC? Or any of you have a better solution? There must be someone like me on here that have their ways around this. Share ideas if you can.

It's obvious, if you give your personal info and it by chance it was leaked to the public or to the bad actors then they can used it. There are cases in some altcoin projects that the personal info of some bounty hunters and their customers and investors have been breached and it went down to the black market and the hackers sold it there.

I guess it's the responsibility of the casino itself to really protect our data. Not sure if casinos are required to be like GDPR compliant.

https://gdpr.eu/
Giving out your personal information online is really risky because once the account is hacked, it is certain that your personal details are already in danger as hackers may use it for illegal purposes. Although I know it’s a wrongful act, but for security purposes, some gamblers have kept their personal information and instead use other names in order to pass the KYC requirement. However, if anything happens to the website, you will also find some troubles retrieving your funds if you provide wrong information to them.
These days we were able to use almost every services offered by a casino just through the usage of an email during the signup. Based on the withdrawal we were requested to fulfill different levels of Kyc.So, this isn't a problem anymore when we're into limits on withdrawal. As mentioned giving personal information is risky, at times we don't have any other choice than going for it. These days we've got high security features availed with every platform, however we need to have our own plans to be on the safer side as we can't blame anyone for what is happening through internet.
1227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: January 14, 2023, 11:30:05 PM
Strategies are just the calculated outcome, but we don't know how far the expectation gets fulfilled. It needs luck. In such situation I'll go with the minimum bet value for the maximum outcome, because I've experienced massive losses going for roll above 2 and the dice rolls within 2. Gambling is all about luck and strategies are just a way to keep ourselves positive on the outcome. The strategy that worked for our friend won't be successful for us, which is the reality we need to understand.
1228  Economy / Economics / Re: How much longer until paper money is no longer in circulation? on: January 14, 2023, 11:23:12 PM
I do not know, in China I do not think nowadays that is common to use cash, they actually perform electronic payments generally
Not only China, many developed countries have also restricted the use of paper money and switched to digital or card payment methods. But the complete elimination of paper money is unlikely to happen in the next decade because in many places it can be said that the internet is limited, and smartphones are not yet widely used, so getting rid of paper money is very difficult.
it is not only difficult but impossible to get rid of paper money, nowadays technology is very advanced and many people are carried away by that change but not all people can use the same things.
nowadays almost all corners of the world in big cities with big businesses can use electronic payments, that's a very natural thing in a very advanced world like today but with more and more growth and more and more things that won't erase or turn off paper money .
reduction in the circulation of paper money is of course very likely to occur but it will not be eliminated in any country.

I think the phasing out of paper money is still possible but it won't happen in the near future, and it may take longer than we think. As you say, if we can successfully reduce the circulation of paper money, then just more time to get rid of it completely is possible.

To be honest, paper money causes some problems such as printing and circulation costs, and is quite cumbersome if shipped in large quantities. But in some cases, paper money also gives us convenience such as paying small bills very quickly, and using paper money still gives us a little more privacy than an account bank or CBDC.
Phasing out of paper money is not at all possible. When paper money gets its usage stopped, automatically it takes another form. The paper money comes in the digital form. The usage comes to an end only if each and every country agree to stop using paper money. Everything runs on a cyclic process, same is with the financial structure. We've evolved from the barter method to the cryptocurrency and maybe once again we can move back to the barter method. So, usage of paper money will continue amidst all form of technology based development.

1230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did Miss El Salvador cause the Bitcoin price to spike last night? on: January 14, 2023, 11:10:15 PM
Alejandra Guajardo, who represented El Salvador at Miss Universe 71, wore a costume with a Bitcoin theme. El Salvador is known as the first nation to legalize Bitcoin as a form of payment. Did Miss El Salvador cause the Bitcoin price to spike last night?
People already know what Bitcoin is, so what Miss El Salvador did shouldn't cause a significant impact on Bitcoin price. If Bitcoin can increase constantly in the last few days, it seems caused by other factors. I assume people have a better desire to buy Bitcoin because there are no longer bad news/issues. So, by more people bought Bitcoin, the price can increase constantly. It seems people don't want to miss a chance to buy at a lower price. Another reason, we are already in the 2nd year of bearish. So, in theory, the price should increase gradually and the dip rate have been passed already in the last year.

This is the coincidence. Whenever something happens positive in the market, people connect the move along with some incident that is happening around related to bitcoin. One such incident have taken place from the Miss Universe participant of El Salvador having bitcoin theme. Maybe that could've made unknown people look for bitcoin. The increase in price is out of other factors, particularly for the year 2024 to be bullish what we experience right now seems to be the start. How far this gonna get growing isn't known, it is good to enjoy when we get the opportunity. Watching the market closer will let you understand whether the market gonna grow continously or gonna drop down, based on which we need to make our moves that cab help in accumulate bitcoins.
1231  Economy / Economics / Re: Rich Mindset vs Poor Mindset : 6 key differences on: January 13, 2023, 11:22:56 PM
snip...

I think mindset depends on what the person has learned in his life.  Whether the person is rich or poor, is not the question in here, there are poor people with the same mindset as rich people while there are rich people that have a mindset worst than poor people.  At the end of the day, it is access to financial knowledge that affects one mindset when it comes to financing so I think it is biased to think that poor people can never have the same mindset as rich people.

Robert Kiyosaki is just exposing why people stay poor while why people become rich.  there is some solid guide in his book but somehow I felt that he isn't exposing everything.  Like he isn't started as a poor guy and more.
But I got some point in not mentioning it because he wants to encourage poor people to think big and succeed. In fact, many poor people have changed and pushed themselves to work hard but unfortunately, not all become successful. Mr. Kiyosaki is just expressing what he experienced during his young age but if we ask those who are really poor condition, I mean those who are really in the dip situation, we can assess that it was not the mindset making you rich but financial education as well. Meaning, they still need to spend more money for this, yet they don't have any to support it - they lose the opportunity.

Education is the only source through which uplifting can happen. This can be done by the government, because there are kids that stopped schooling and working to feed the family. At such situation the poor doesn't have anything to spend than thinking about the day's survival. Things could change and we need to support with proper direction which is the best one can do.
1232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can players bet on their own games on: January 13, 2023, 11:16:11 PM
This happens as gambling platforms give access for anonymous betting. According to rules players should not bet o their own games. Just think of a scenario, if a player have made a bet over his play to score specific runs. His focus will be on the scoring and this will affect the combined effort for the team.
1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Times when I visit casinos Versus When I don't on: January 13, 2023, 11:12:52 PM
What's been posted by OP is really good and a way to keep ourselves on the safer side. This won't work with majority of the gamblers as most of time people loss control and go behind the losses. These losses make them not to concentrate on personal life, professional life and just think of ways to recover the loss. Some realize and take a break whereas majority think of recovering and loss big.
1234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Video how i turn 0.3 ethereum into 0.6 ethereum in dice on: January 13, 2023, 11:08:01 PM
With dice we can't term it to be skill. Gambling is all about luck and with dice, it is nothing other than luck. OP is lucky enough to make a bet of 0.3eth and double it in a roll. If that roll have failed, his wallet might've emptied. In my opinion that is a control less bet and further fearing loss he controlled his bets with small bet amounts. Anyhow it is a lucky day for OP. Enjoy the winning than losing it again looking for big money.
1235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What could have Satoshi faced if he made himself known from the beginning on: January 13, 2023, 10:59:48 PM
I honestly never know what Satoshi thought about his privacy in bitcoin's early years [when bitcoin was not yet valuable]. We're only speculating about him right now, but he's too smart to keep that up until now. Whether he was male or female, we never really knew until recently.

Making himself famous only put him in danger, but I don't think Satoshi really thought about it in the first place, but quickly changed after bitcoin was in huge demand. Of course this is just my opinion, no need to argue because I'm just a bit logical.
This is the fact that could've happened if he have revealed his identity. As mentioned when bitcoin hasn't got any value there were not much of discussion regarding him. When the market began to experience transition things begun to change. Revealing his identity would be danger as well as he will be threatened to send bitcoins. So, let him stay hidden forever enjoying the technology innovated by him.
1236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 12, 2023, 11:41:27 PM
I think Afghanistan themselves are not going to be very interested in women's cricket. First of all the Afghan people are very religious. And we all know that it is prohibited in Islam that a woman takes part in these types of sports by exposing certain parts of her body.

We have seen a lot of teams having women footballer who plays wearing a hijab. But cricket is a very different game. I don't know if it is possible to play cricket wearing a hijab. And the women in Afghanistan also trust in the process which is, the man is supposed to want to take care of the family and provide for the family. And the women are the ones to give birth and raise children. The way it actually should be. So, I don't know to think that is going to be a very good idea for Afghanistan, especially at this moment.
No, I do not think so. Because, I read somewhere "a strong Muslim is better than a weaker Muslim" just like there is another matter "Get knowledge even if you have to go to China for it" here it's not saying this all just for men it's saying all things equal for men and women but sadly right now Muslims have few groups which are bringing their own theory and trying to work on this which is clearly against the will of Islam it's just bullshit and nothing positive that all sports and education is just for men.

Few months back Afghanistan having soccer and cricket teams with Iran are also having soccer team for the women and few other Muslim countries are also involved in this all because now they are realizing things are not favourable to ban women's from all aspects of life which is good change but sadly these Taliban are never been true face of Islam.
Afghanistan have got good players. Afghanistan mens team have evolved strong and have served as a big competence to most of the countries. The lack of support from the ruling power and the lack of experience have made them loss many matches. With time everything will change and for now Afghanistan is at its very beginning days of constructing the nation. Look at Saudi Arabia, it wasn't that bad as Afghanistan but they were much against equality. Now slowly they have understood the reality and making changes over each and everything.
1237  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Influencers, affiliate links and scams on: January 12, 2023, 11:21:48 PM
Not with cryptocurrency, this kind of problem is happening everywhere. As everything happens online it have been made simple by the so called influencers. With time more number of scams out of cryptocurrencies create fear among the common people. This finally makes common people to term cryptocurrency completely a scam. We should not allow this to happen, and the same can be understood by the learning cryopreservation .
1238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 12, 2023, 09:53:53 PM
Soon South Africa SA20 league will gain popularity than other leagues. This being the first season they're taking place in a silent way. Exactly the league is running for a month's time. The matches too seems interesting to watch than other leagues. I don't know whether it is the franchise attraction or the game from the players. In today's match it was Pretoria Capitals to win against Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Score came close to 200 runs and we don't see much of scoring, at the end the target seems to be good in a combined way.
1239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 12, 2023, 09:45:15 PM
Snip
I think you should go T20 topic for discussing about Ireland and Zimbabwe T20 match.  Because this topic is  for ODI cricket
The problem is Sri Lanka was not even able to play the whole 50 overs. Sri Lanka finished their innings with 62 balls left. That is certainly not good. And the score was never going to be enough for Sri Lanka to beat India.

As expected India reached the target quite easily. But India also lost 6 wickets in that process. I believe that if Sri Lanka was able to play the whole 50 overs they could get enough score on the board to actually win because this was not a batting track. India reached the target with 40 balls left and made sure that they have already won the series.
In both ODI India completely outclass Sri Lanka in all fields but good thing happening for the Sri Lanka as their youths are taking good lessons from these mighty Indians which will help them in near future because currently they are under development and needs good time for having better results in all formats first match was high scoring but in second Sri Lanka bats first which was not good because few early wickets give them setback and after this middle order batting also not able to have any positive contribution but thanks to Wellalage which helps them for having score more than 215 because once I was feeling they could be not able to touch this figure of 200, but things ended good for them and after this in bowling they have also done good job with having few early wickets, but Indian batting is very long to they win this match easily.
Despite losing the last match, Sri Lanka's performance in this match disappointed me more.  Sri Lanka scored a  lot of runs in the last match too, although Sri Lanka lost I applauded their performance but today they gave a very bad performance.
But I congratulate India for taking this series with one match in hand. And I think if there is a performance like that they can easily whitewash Sri Lanka but I thought Sri Lanka would get a little help. But I think the credit behind today's game win has to go to India's bowlers as most of them were active in taking wickets today and among them Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj contributed brilliantly with their each three wickets.  I think Sri Lanka will not be able to win if India has this position in the upcoming third ODI match.
We can't say Sri Lanka performed bad, maybe in the batting they missed it. With bowling they did the best. In the powerplay they managed to take 4 wickets, but India kept the run rate undisturbed. This lowered the pressure over the batsmen, and Rahul took the right stand at the right time creating partnership with Hardhik. If that partnership was broken, the match could've gone even closer. Let's see what's gonna happen in the third ODI. Sri Lanka will try the maximum to win the match, than ending the series whitewashed.
1240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 09, 2023, 11:28:19 PM
Biggest issue right now with India in tests is that they are missing a player like Pant who can score freely with a crazy high strike rate which is why Australia shouldn't be underestimated in their upcoming series against India.
The strike rate doesn't really matter in a test match. Right? But, yes. Playe like Rishab can change the game. As you all know he is unable to play due to the injury. I hope he will recover soon and come back to the field.

Rishab Pant is a great player. The strike rate does not matter for the Test format. However, batting with a good striker rate at critical moments makes it easier to win the match. On the other hand, if the pitch is not conducive to batting, scoring runs quickly can give a decent target. And so India needed a batsman like Rishab Pant. As India has been facing some problems with the batting line-up for a long time. India needed an experienced player like Pant against an experienced team like Australia. It will be very difficult for India to win against Australia.
Winning against Australia is tough, and Australia too have the same mentality. Winning against India isn't an easy thing as they do with other countries. Rishab Pant is out due to the accidental rest. To be part of the team it takes time. There will be alternate to fill the position. According to me it is time to find the good in new players as getting opportunity is really difficult thing among the politically influenced selection.
