He's got all the stars aligned for his first GS title.

let's hope that Sinner is able to "hold up" even on a physical level!
he has suffered from many injuries during this year, some even trivial such as vesicles  on his feet which however forced him to retire

Big news - Nadal has been beaten by McDonald in straight sets. Nadal suffered an injury in
the third set and went off court for a medical timeout but returned to complete the match.

Not actually a surprise, I was talking against Nadal even before AO started. Granted even more in some other topics related to Sportsbet specials. This was most likely scenario from the start of the tournament. Not sure exactly when injury happened but it was much sooner than 3rd set, he was already injured in second set for sure, had big problems with movements and tried to shorten the points as much as possible.

Yeah, I think his body is showing signs of failing this year, and we have heard him about this numerous times because the start of the tournament that he is not 100% etc, so in the second round it just shows, lost to McDonald in straight sets. And if ever he get pass him here, for sure it will be a difficult path for him and most likely he will lost along the way.

Yeah I remember the ridiculousness of him being posted as top seed and odds at one point were 7/1... as if his injury and age were something he could keep at the back of the pocket.

but overall, that was mostly expected, it was too much to catch this match for lose, but certainly far from anything that Nadal could go any further

Medvedev win was good today, and my boy Norrie is having to play 4th set, expected him to win straight sets (but no betting so far from me on AO)

TBH IMO depending on the seriousness of the injury we might not see Nadal winning
much at all this year.

Nevertheless, there are a number of nice games to see and the difference in level is not the same in all games. Most notable so far is Kyrgios' withdrawal from tournament participation. Officially the story is that he has an injury, but it seems that there are private circumstances that prevent him from participating in the tournament. When will it ever stop with him? He is/was regarded as one of the greatest talents in the world, but due to his private problems he does not reach the absolute world top. Nadal also lost his match, but had misplaced himself in his match against Donald and therefore actually had to finish the match with an injury, as he absolutely did not want to give up. One less competitor for Djokovic. The Australian public will be extremely disappointed not to see Kyrgios in action this tournament. At least not on the field.

I think this is also a question for many people because seeing how he walks after the medical timeout seems impossible to continue, and here's his post-match interview regarding his decision to continues the match until it's over

Agree KennyR, Tennis isn't just about a handful of players, there are more capable players,
and others who can give us plenty of enjoyment. I agree though that Djokovic is going to
go to the final.

The number 2 seed is out, Ruud was beaten in 4 sets by Brooksby, that's a but upset,
so many had Ruud tipped to be one of the very few to be able to strongly challenge Djokovic.

To be honest, seed places sometimes really don't give the best possible picture.
Ruud is a clay player and he really looks dominant there - but is struggling on fast surfaces and he should not have been considered among favorites here.

Once after reaching the final in the ATP World Tour the expectation on Ruud have increased.  Disappointments were part of tennis game, the results of the match turns against the prediction in no time when an opponents point is won. The interesting part most of the matches have reached the fifth set and very few have ended on the third set. Rune have reached the next round and Bautista Agut is in hard fight against Holt in the deciding set.

I really thought that van de Zandschulp will give a good fight in this match. And so the upset continues, and so many unpredictable matches for us to bet.

Djokovic is playing E. Couacaud, I'm not expecting any surprises though.

Andy Murray vs Kokkinakis in the next hour, this is going to be exciting as Murray is one of the crowd favorite but going up against their local boy Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Winning the tie breaker set by Couacaud is makes the match interesting. Djokovic won the first set 6-1 and the third set 6-2. In between it is really a big performance from Couacaud. Djokovic will end the match by the fourth set. Alcaraz, Tsitsipas with Djokovic for the title at the moment. It is time for tennis enthusiasts to make good money out of the Australian Open. To make little money it is good to go with Djokovic till the final.

Yeah, 3:1 and 3:2 seem like good value every time that guy plays, though seems like he carried some pain after.

Some terrible outings for me trying to play live on Fritz and Ruud after going behind did NOT go well, though, those two I was pretty sure would make it one more round, would have lost even more money on Zverev, tbh but good thing I ran out of time.

Pity. Zverev unfortunately lost to the second lucky loser Michael Mmoh. He still won the first set 7:1 in a tiebreak. But he lost all the next three sets. But he played well. He lacks fitness and that will come back with time. He is satisfied with himself and now knows where he stands. That is a good realisation and he can continue to work on himself.

How did he struggle? He lost a close tiebreaker and only 3 games across the other 3 sets.

Novak dominated tonight and was serving well and moving nicely.

He hasn't even peaked yet which should scare his opponents.
