Since I'm mining with no rewards, I have earned 0.035 via in my pool, is that from transaction fee being paid to the miners?

Yes. Miners are only getting fees prior to the block rewards starting.
1242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: July 19, 2014, 05:09:20 PM
Would it be reasonable to assume miners will dump on the price?

I "assume" most miners just sell at market price. I expect that will happen here too. At only ~30k coins per day, it shouldn't drop the price too much. But, the markets will do what the markets will do.
1243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: July 19, 2014, 05:06:35 PM

I for one also realize that when some people get to financial security they often take on projects they are interested even if there is no possible financial gain. However, I don't know if that is your situation. All I know is that you have a good trading track record here on the forums.

I would be interested in what your plans are for your 600 BTC. Will you be buying back VIA with that coin? I do think knowing you have a stake in the coin would assuage some peoples feelings that you have no vested interest in the coin if you only own 10 VIA.

(I hope this isn't a repeated question.)

1244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: July 19, 2014, 04:56:00 PM
You should invite an independent third party who is more knowledgeable than I am to inspect your source code and give his/her opinion on any innovation. From what I am seeing now is a sloppy copy-paste from bitcoin with zero innovation.

The code is all public on github. If that isn't an invitation for people to look at it, I don't know what is.
1245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: July 19, 2014, 04:54:46 PM

I don't think it is misleading as it shows how much/or little effort you put into developing this coin, which is understandable - you don't have incentives to do more.
Imagine a CEO of a firm selling all his shares in his company and then claiming to minority shareholders - I will bring you to the moon because I am rich. The amount of effort you put in coin development is appalling.

What makes you think he didn't buy any at 0.00010 price?
Or any price.
What makes you think he DID buy? All we know is that the dev SOLD 10mln coins. There is no proof of him buying, although this is something that maybe people want to believe in.
I wonder how much can people stretch their imagination.

Need to sleep, but so interesting watching trex... I bought 10 VIA at 0.00007100 before it went crazy.

I'm assuming he bought more
Because you want to believe. Buying 10 VIA is a joke and clearly the dev didn't think that the price will be this high so it is highly unlikely that he was touching his coin at all.
If the dev has any vested interest in his coin he should publish his wallet address along with normal block explorer so that we can keep track of his vested interest.

People in this community are so bi-polar.

If the dev kept some coin for himself people would use that as evidence to claim the same thing you are claiming. So, does instamine the dev keeps mean it's a scam, or does the dev selling all the pre-mine coins mean it's a scam. Apparently everything is a scam.

So, either you are a white knight and trying to protect us all from ourselves. OR you are here to FUD, hoping the price drops because you realized you missed out on a good opportunity. Because if you really didn't care, you just wouldn't be here.
1246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: July 18, 2014, 11:04:17 PM
Dev did not buy himself over 1m coins? how we know this? I would have done that haha, With the ipo money!
" dirty mind"

I hope Dev is for real and have good plans

It is possible. But, the dev has a very good reputation and track record. Apparently, if you start a coin I will be staying away.
1247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 18, 2014, 11:02:41 PM

Yep, those too. I assumed you wanted a web wallet, since that is what you were asking about.
1248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: July 18, 2014, 10:56:21 PM

Block 1 = 10,000,000 VIA (to be distributed by presale)

what does that mean? Only people involve din the pre-sale will receive it?

those coins were distributed to the ICO participants.  here's the list:
http://presale.viacoin.org/list.html

ICO = great game on PS2!

"ICO" here = IPO.

ICO = IPO = selling premined coins no more no less

Perhaps, but the ICO established a base price. It was the inverse of a premine that the dev holds and dumps. On an exchange when a dev dumps his pre-mine, the price goes down.

With the ICO, you couldn't sell, you could only buy, so the price when up. Every BTC added to the ICO increased the base price of the coin. This floor was paid be every investor. The Dev has zero coin from the ICO. If he wants it, he now has to buy in, once again, raising the price of the coin.

I thought it was quite a clever way to get 10m coin into the market rather than just letting miners have all the fun.

and what is a safe wallet to keep my NXT in MyNxt.info?

Yes, that is a safe wallet. As is nxtblocks.info. Try they both and see which one you like more.
1250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: July 18, 2014, 08:44:19 PM
anybody was able to mine any coin yet?

No, still about 3000 blocks to go before they have coins rewards in them.

That's about a day.
1251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: July 18, 2014, 06:20:35 PM

1252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source | IPO Started on: July 18, 2014, 06:15:53 PM
If the question is not answered on the FAQ, pose your question in the comments at the bottom and I will answer it ASAP.

Thanks!

Where's the ledger? The ledger site says it would be up two days ago.
1253  Economy / Services / Re: I was hacked (1170btc stolen) - 500btc max BOUNTY on: July 18, 2014, 06:13:27 PM
so... how did the hacker find said link? where did he get it from?

That is a million $ question, which still seems to be unanswered.

My assumptions, also, as seen from the second thread of this incident.
hacker was someone Klee knew personally. I read it was a short brunette in her 30s.
So, it seems that the person, or a group of persons, knew what klee held, and in a personal meet, planted a trojan on Klee's system.

If all this is true, than that is a SEVERE breach of trust. pathetic.

Possible. As part of the "deal" I would have requested how to hack took place. Although, if it was physical access, that would have probably narrowed down the list of suspect by quite a large margin.

I expect after this bitaddress.org is one of kLee's favorite sites.

Thats an interesting site. But, i am not comfortable with others generating BTC addresses for me.

That is the prime paper wallet site for bitcoin. Take the html page. Save it, put it on an offline computer. Everything is done on your computer, in javascript, offline.
1254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: July 18, 2014, 06:11:03 PM
Can someone explain me, why would you mine this coin before 10k block?

It is pointless to mine right now and if prices don't change vs what the block reward is, it will be a waste to mine when block rewards start.

I rented 50MH of rigs yesterday for .03 BTC and currently it shows .018 VIA unconfirmed.  I got 200+ VIA yesterday at 9k satoshi for .018 BTC.

Sooo... people should stop selling below the prices miners need to make a bit of money. That helps two things, the coin, since we need miners or there is no network. The price, because well, the price will be higher, which will attract more buyers to the coin.
1255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: July 18, 2014, 05:10:59 PM
I am a NXTer and QORA holder. My main problem is that qora is still closed source. People I trust looked at NXT and said that the code was pretty much bulletproof, a thing I can't say for QORA.

Not that I dislike QORA because of that, but I wouldn't call QORA innovative when all we know the code could be completely broken on logical levels..

I expect the biggest reason it hasn't been at this point is Kora. I expect Qora doesn't feel that someone else should profit from his work. Although Kora is giving a stake to Qora, it's probably not enough.

Everyone message support@mail.bter.com to get Crypti stakes trading.

Nope. I'd prefer if the stakes stay untradable. Especially given there is no way to trade the stakes in Maxmint's escrow.

Looking to buy NXT with Bitcoins msg me for trade.

Does FIMK allow for leased forging? Or, was that pulled out of the core?

Are you informed if a post you made has been deleted in a moderated thread? I'm just curious? I thought I made a post in this thread, I can't find. But, as you age, memory is the second thing to go. I can't remember what the first thing is.
1260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NAUT] Nautiluscoin - First Coin w/Stabilization Fund - Digishield on: July 18, 2014, 04:49:41 PM
are you sure? i don't think you have to back up after each transaction

It really depends on how the wallet handles the change addresses. Since the "dev" here isn't the "developer" he really can't tell us.

But, it's easy enough to test. Get a hash of the wallet. Do a send. Take a has of the wallet (maybe even looking at time stamp is enough).

Although that's not 100% accurate. Some wallets reserve a small amount of addresses for change. Say 5. Once these are used up, the next time it needs a change address it will gen 5 more, and put them in your wallet.

Simplest thing to do is back up after any spend. For me, that is very rare. Or, just back it up every day if you are doing a lot of transactions. Better safe than sorry. Wink
