1281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: July 28, 2022, 01:24:21 PM

Yeah, as what we say, numbers don't lie, and GGG punch output was sure enough to put him on the W column against Canelo, but the judges thinks otherwise. And most of the boxing fans also see GGG winning the first.

And that was critical as well, tainted meat and PeD's accusation on Canelo which he clearly dismisses and the organization sided on him (maybe bias again???). Enough for the fans to really trigger something that they want GGG to win in this fight.

Fans will always aim to see GGG taking down Canelo. They will be more on the side that GGG is really a good competitor to Canelo.

We will only know if they are right or it's still Canelo will win and will put a dot on this matter,
The good catch here, if GGG wins, it's possible to have another money fight for both fighters
with how eager the fans promoters will use that great advantage to make more money from these
two warriors.

That would be big news if that will happen, GGG is not expected to win by many because Canelo won the last fight and therefore GGG is now a heavy underdog, maybe because of his age too, that's another factor. GGG will win, his career is not over as for sure he will always be willing to give Canelo another fight and they will both big money from that fight.
1282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 28, 2022, 12:39:53 PM
The Golden State Warriors have shown some interest in picking up Carmelo Anthony for next season. I’m not sure how well he would fit in, but I’m sure he could do some damage off the bench. I’m thinking it would probably be his last chance to win a championship, so it wouldn’t be a bad option for him. I’d wait to see if Kyrie gets traded to the Lakers and see if I could run that back before anything else though.
Not really bad if the GSW will pick him. Last season IIRC it was him that has been taken almost at the last minute since no team would like to have him but good thing he's saved. I guess I like him to be there because of the thought that he's gonna take the ring with him before his retirement.
Maybe all of us would agree with that matter and the rest, arguable about the whatnots of him being in the dub nation.

Perhaps that what we all wanted to see for Carmelo, win that first ring. So much publicity goes when he join Lebron with the Lakers in hoping that somewhat him and Bron could be a good tandem and could take them as far as the finals, but that didn't happen. But with the Dubs it might be different for Carmelo, the Warriors has a lot of players that wanted to win back to back and maybe Carmelo can be somewhat a factor. So I like him to be pick up by the Warriors at least this season.

Great 2nd team I guess, Carmelo is now healthy, so despite his age, I'm sure he can still drop a decent number playing the system of the Warriors. They will be a fast face team, it could be new for Carmelo but hopefully he will be able to make the right adjustment to fit.
1283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice from a stranger on: July 26, 2022, 11:34:11 PM
I would say yes and no I actually invest in both new coins and old coins, but you must know that crypto is very volatile, and investing in the new coins is more like gambling and yes if you find hidden gems you can make x2 or even x100 easily but you also find new token turn into "ash" as well  Cheesy but if you have minimum budget or strict budget i would recommend the top 100 CoinMarketCap
If you want to create more profit opportunities, I think investing in new projects is also worth the risk but you should always invest with caution as majority of the new projects these days end up into trash. And as a friendly advice, never focus on new projects but learn to diversify your funds wit old and established projects, and those new and promising ones. That way, you will never be in a total loss.
1284  Economy / Economics / Re: Avoid loan apps, a word of advice. on: July 26, 2022, 11:02:51 PM
These loaning apps are terrible in customer service, they really are a business that will suck every customer's money that have taken loan from them.

If you're going to take a loan, just go with the banks and they've got lesser interest rates.

The twist from these apps are they've got lesser requirements so those that are in dire need, they're the best options but when they've got the loan, terrible experiences will be made from them.
That’s true as I have come to take a loan before online and experienced the worst. Though it’s seemed so easy for us to make our loans approved, but in times that we can’t pay our loan in due time, they surely put an interest that I think is very high and I’ve got no choice but to pay for it. I swear I won’t be attracted to any loan apps again. In general, it’s always not ideal taking loans because you are giving them chances to take advantage on you. If you want to invest, then save for it. If you want to own something, then you should strive hard to prepare your funds so you won’t be taking a loan as a last resort.
1285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today is the story of my investment in Bitcoin on: July 26, 2022, 09:59:37 PM
Taking loans to buy a volatile asset is a dumb idea. Why not just buy in slowly using your hard-earned money from your job/business? You don't need to have 1 full bitcoin literally right now, it's not like the price is going to skyrocket overnight and that you're going to be left out.

P.S. I hope you're using a hardware wallet
You should have considered doing DCA OP because that will still give you another opportunity to own bitcoin little by little. Taking a loan will only create future problems especially if you only rely from bitcoin for your payment on your loan. There will always be pressure every now and then. I'm afraid you will still sell them in the wrong time when there is a need already to pay your loan. Maximizing your purchase in bitcoin is always ideal especially with  a discounted price, but if you are not able and capable to do it, then don't force yourself to make it happen.
1286  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading really worth it? on: July 26, 2022, 09:48:37 PM
Can I have a precise and constructive answer on whether trading is really worth spending time on? My brother wants to do this job for a living, and I'm just curious if it's a dignified, worth-spending occupation. I don't know where to ask, I don't understand technical analysis; when he explains it to me I feel it's some sort of gambling strategy.

I've used to read experts' discussions, papers, books and the like, but I find no such stuff on trading. It's a very vague term anyway. Are there really people who just "buy low and sell high", making a living by just doing that? I can't comprehend how can a person seriously make a living by something that looks complete gambling, instead of providing goods, services, work etc.
If your brother is fully convinced that trading will definitely sustain his daily needs, then maybe he has seen a lot of traders with huge success or he believes in himself that trading will bring a lot of profits in his life. You should support him instead, than discouraging him all the time because you think trading is not worth doing. Yes, trading will always bring losses for traders as its always inevitable, but for those who have developed their skills and proven strategies in trading, its certain that they will be taking advantage on the marke.
1287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your ultimate choice? on: July 26, 2022, 07:13:56 PM
Bitcoin is always my first choice, it’s the most reputable & highly adopted coin. Eth is a good coin too but I’m a little nervous about the merge. If you asked me one coin to have my whole net worth in though it’d definitely be bitcoin, all day every day.
Bitcoin will always be the number 1 choice in the crypto market. Not because it has the most expensive value, but because of its high utility case and its long term profitability potentials. It's the most trusted coin in the market, and that made it more reputable compared to other bitcoin cloned coins. Although other coins have also their own potentials, but i always believe if i'm going to take the highest risk, why not stick to bitcoin.
1288  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: don't be fooled by titles. on: July 25, 2022, 11:54:12 PM
DM first with money request, private key request, mnemonic request is always from scammer.

Legit person does not DM first and ask you to send money.
It does not relate to their job position, their job title, whatsoever.

Impersonators will use username, name, job title, job position to increase validity of their messages. You can protect yourself by remembering that any invitation for you but request you to send money first is scam.
Asking money first even from a CEO or higher position you know will always remain a red flag. You should never doubted in all transactions like that because that is always a form of scam. And scammers will never hesitate to impersonate other people or use their titles just to put their victims on their own trap. If you are cautious enough, you might be saved from scamming, otherwise you’ll end up putting your money into a waste.
1289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My old officemate become millionaire on investing on Bitcoin on: July 25, 2022, 11:19:18 PM
That's a nice story to hear. The takeaway for me was that unlike the others he held because he forgot about his investment. The irony being that he could of sold back in 2017 just below $20K and started his business many years ago, but that's beside the point really. The most challenging parts of hodling is not taking profits too early, selling too late, or failing to buy back. Forgetting about the investment certainly helps here!

Glad to hear he became a peso millionaire either way Cheesy
Forgetting about your investment really helps because instead of checking the price chart to keep updated, you tend to ignore its current price and also it’s price fluctuations. Good thing because you won’t be bothered every time the price of bitcoin drops, as you are not totally obsessed with your investment. Also, hodling makes a lot of difference than selling in short term. Even though not all investors can keep their patience and hold firm their investments.
1290  Economy / Economics / Re: You don't earn money only from others, but also when you avoid spending your own on: July 24, 2022, 09:50:06 PM
Usually people get anxious and frenetic for new sources of income, to find new jobs, so they can maximize their patrimony as soon as possible, but many of them forget you don't accumulate wealth only when receiving money or being paid by others for a work. We can also decrease our expenses and stop third-partying tasks we can do ourselves, so at the end of a monthly cycle we will have earned more money to invest and make it grow overtime.

People create so many worthless fixed expenses nowadays. It can be monthly subscriptions of services they barely use, eating out too often, purchasing superfluous clothes, accessories and items in general just for vanity towards the society. Sometimes people have all the tools they need on their hands to finish a solid building, however, since they don't know how to use them properly, it will look like they constantly need more and more tools indefinitely.
Earning good amount of money starts from your own self, the way you manage your expenses, and the way you discipline yourself not to spend over your income. Although you can still accumulate more income from your own work or let’s say from investments, but first and foremost saving and earning your money starts within you. No matter how many resources you have to generate an income, if you are not motivated to earn and save, then you will never be financially independent.
1291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 22, 2022, 10:59:40 AM
Congrats @bisdak40, looks like you got a win here.

I was thrilled watching the game as I was thinking that Ginebra will pull away and will cover the spread, turns out Phoenix were able to hit the handicap. 7 points win only by Ginebra, that means we got a winner here.  Smiley

Thanks, i jumped on my seat there when Tyler Tio made the shot from the rainbow and they did not foul the Kings while they let the clock run out, what a thrilling game for me hehe.

BTW, there might be changes in the positioning in the quarters depending of the result of today's game. Ginebra will stay at fourth place if ever Magnolia wins and if they loses then Ginebra will go up in the third place but considering that SMB has the top 1 spot, Magnolia for sure will try its best to win to avoid facing its sister team in the semis, so I think I will be good to bet on the Magnolia Hotshot for tonight's game.

I like Magnolia too, they are now complete with a healthy lineup and I'm just so impressed with their defense and their teamwork. This team might even win a championship as they also have big that could at least limit Fajardo.

They are the hottest team now with a record of 7-3 (win-loss) but they are on a 6 winning streak.
https://www.pba.ph/standings

I like to see them win a championship again,  and I love the fact that Paul is not so pressured now because there are lots of players that are willing to step up like Barocca and the Beast.

I hope they will continue their win streak, Blackwater are doing well so far, they have a good start and they are already ahead by 1 point in the 3rd quarter. This is not going to be an another dominant win by Magnolia but they will likely win this game.
1292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 22, 2022, 06:05:38 AM
It would be such a waste if this fight will not push through. This is going to be a mega fight. So in terms of demand from boxing fans all over the world, this fight should happen. In terms of revenue, it is not a problem either because this match will definitely make a lot of money.

We hope that the surprising news will not be like that. It's really a waste and somehow disappointing if the current Top 2 Welterweights in the whole world will not meet and face each other in the ring. We don't want to see another delay like what happened to Pacquiao and Mayweather bout which take several years in the making and both are not in their prime anymore when they fought each other.

We need to see Spence and Crawford battle each other in their prime.
We want to see who's gonna take their first loss.
We want to see who will unify the 4 Welterweight titles and will become the undisputed champion in that division.

I hope both sides will now officially settled everything and bring entertainment to all boxing fans.

I agree. Although that Pacquiao vs Mayweather match was a big thing in the history of boxing, it wasn't as exciting as the prospect of Crawford vs Spence happening soon. For one, that fight indeed happened when both boxers were not anymore in their prime. And we also know that in that fight one will give all his punches and may even try to look for a knockout while the other will do all his running and will try not to take even a single punch. Both Crawford and Spence are knockout artists. This must be a better match.

That fight between Manny vs Mayweather was hyped but in the actual fight, it was a boring one. We believe that it's going to be fun and we try to convince ourselves but Mayweather is really a boring fighter, and since he was the one dictating the tempo of the fight, you already know what to expect.

This one sure is firepower.

Both offensive fighters are going against each other, we called this a "WAR".

So far I'm hearing the Miami Heat is on the move targeting either KD or Mitchell. I hope the Heat acquires either one of them.

If the Heat would want their team better, they should sign Durant instead of Mitchell. Although Mitchell is a superstar but he does not have a championship DNA and has not proven anything yet as Jazz under his leadership has not reach the NBA finals yet.

1295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 21, 2022, 02:20:58 PM

We cannot be sure since the fight is not officially announced yet. The moment they will sign the contract, that's the time that we have to assume the fight is going to happen, if no contract, I'm afraid that we are just speculating.

That's the one thing that the whole community is waiting for, and they will not accept any further delay, they cannot wait for another year because both of their camps have their own plans, and they have to settle the score, like my previous post about this matchup, they have a lifetime to regret if this fight will not push through, they should go for it while they are on top of their career, there is no other legacy fight for both fighters like this one.

I hope the organization will make it a mandatory fight for both so they have no choice but to fight. The only reason why until now it's still not official is because of the money issue, as long as they will not agree with the sharing of revenue and their individual purse, this fight will not happen.
1296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 21, 2022, 01:36:08 PM
Harden proves already that he can be a good ball passer and he already show some good sign that he's willing to help his team to win a championship, for sure next season will be more interesting with Sixers because they got good quality role players from free agency which can help them win a championship next season.
But passing alone cannot win games, I mean, no doubt that his performance in the regular season with the sixers are impressive, but in the playoffs, he wasn't as productive as in the regular season, so that's something he has to work on if he wants to make his team a championship team.
1297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 20, 2022, 01:22:41 PM
.... I can't believe the Suns earlier planned to let go of Ayton.
It's all part of negotiations in business. I read that Ayton was eligible for a $179 million contract and it's safe to say his agent pushed for that figure. The Suns were patient enough and explored other options until the $133 Million offer from Pacers. Ayton and his agent probably realized they couldn't squeeze more so they just settled with that amount. Suns management played their card well and got him at a cheaper price.
I think the agent just wants that opportunity of a lifetime or Ayton and to part ways isn't that bad all the time on both parties. Good thing that they got him, maybe Ayton love already the vibes on the Sun and he's been with them for years already so a $40 millions lower isn't huge for him compare to what he learnt throughout the organization.

Yes, probably it was a good ploy by his agent that time, allow Pacers to offer them that huge money. And if Phoenix doesn't counter then good, he can sign with the Pacers with that huge money. But if the Suns management find Ayton and willing to give him his money for his performance then good as well, so it's a win-win situation for DA. Now it's time for him to show the management that he is really worth that much. Bring a ring with CP3 and Booker, sort of their big 3.

Bring a ring? Well, that's an ultimate success but I don't think that's possible with the current roster.

The big 3 are not enough to win a championship, they were the favorite last season but they messed up when they get upset by the Dallas Mavericks.
I don't know if what they can improve but I believe they need another superstar to increase their chances.

Oo kabayan, convenient talaga, hindi dati na asa lang talaga tayo sa coins.ph. No offense naman sa kanila been using them since 2017 pero may mga kalaban na at parang nakapa higpit nila.

1299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I doing the right thing on: July 19, 2022, 11:33:48 PM
How can a newbie invest in good altcoins? I know about BTC and ETH but I think I can make more money from altcoins instead of BTC and ETH, I did my research and I have a few projects in mind but I don't know if they are worthy..

Avalanche, Mina protocol, Phala network and Aleph Zero to name a few
It’s good to actually invest in promising altcoins but the problem is we can’t predict exactly if those coins are going to work and become highly valuable in time. There are some altcoins that are only good in the beginning but they suddenly lose their value because of lack of utility cases, and that the community find it useless anymore to invest. But if you want to try your luck, you can start investing while prices are cheap. If you lose, at least you learned something. In the end, you will realize that only bitcoin and ethereum give secure profits and are most likely to be stable even if the market price suddenly crash.
1300  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Bitcoin still remains the leading cryptocurrency in the world. on: July 19, 2022, 10:28:32 PM
Understand first what you're talking. Bitcoin is not mysterious, you can read its whitepaper and why it is made, and its purpose. And no one controls bitcoin including its creator, that's why its called decentralized.

Altcoins may vary to its purpose, those who have strong foundation last thats why people still using them while on the other hand most of them now are useless, scam, spam, etc.
Since altcoins has always been the playground of all scams in the market, then most of the people develop more fears from investing in altcoins, except for those old and established altcoins that have proven their worth and value for a long time. That is why a lot of people have trusted bitcoin instead more than altcoins because they have seen its consistency from day one up to the present. And until now, bitcoin remains to be the most expensive coin in the market that anyone knows about it will always dream of accumulating more for future, huge profits.
