1321  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What Wallet Do You Store Your Bitcoin? on: July 02, 2023, 06:30:30 PM
Nexo is offering this because they offer loans to their customers, there are threads here that talk about Nexo's interest from these 2 threads below, and most of the responses don't agree to put your assets in a centralized exchange because you no longer have full control of your assets.

That's a pretty bad idea than holding them to non-custodial wallets unless you are willing to lose your investment. Remember high returns is always risky it would be best if you hold BTC in your wallet that you fully control and let the value makes you profit.
1322  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Metamask and Bitcoin. on: July 02, 2023, 05:38:21 PM
Community Is there a secure way for me to deposit bitcoin into my Metamask wallet?

Like other said there is no way to send BTC to Metamask unless you talking about Binance-wrapped BTC or BBTC that support the ERC20 network.

What exactly do you plan why do you want to use Metamask to store your BTC?

Are you planning to withdraw BTC from Binance and you see other networks like Bep20, bep2, and ERC20? Once you withdraw them to metamask you won't be able to recover them. Better find the right wallet to receive BTC just like what they suggested above but if your purpose is to reduce fees you can only use other networks when you need to transfer it to another exchange that supports that network.
1323  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Whatsminer firmware on: July 02, 2023, 03:09:50 PM
is there a way to control fan speed of a whatsminer ?

No, it does not have a fan control even using their API you can't able to edit the fan speed but you can retrieve RPM speed through API using the Whatsminer tool under remote control.

If you plan to reduce the fan speed maybe switching the settings to low power mode might help to reduce fan RPM.

Or if you plan to cool down the miner a bit you can modify the miner's frequency through API.
1324  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone knows bitstenproole.com exchange? on: July 02, 2023, 02:36:50 PM

and seriously ? a Chinese exchange?  bitstenproole.com/#/home where did you get this? or are you part of the team who promotes this for free?

I think you are the one who promoting it look at your post you put the whole URL it will help to get backlinks here on the forum.
If I were you better edit your post and remove the backlink.

And another thing about this site almost all pages of this exchange are protected from copy-pasting(planning to copy content to check for plagiarism) I tried to disable javascript and it stuck on loading and look at this image below I tried accessing it through Brave.

He might be using some script that can track you better be careful.
1325  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Your experience using used miner please? on: July 01, 2023, 04:56:06 PM
I think it depends on the old owner how he maintains their miner but I don't think if they will tell you that their miner is well-maintained.

If you are a newbie and planning to buy a used Miner I suggest better buy new units from Bitmain because it comes with a warranty anytime you can send the unit back to them once you experience some issue within the warranty period. Antminer 19 series have 6 to 12 months warranty.

It is safer than buying 2nd hand units that doesn't have a warranty and you don't know if the unit is well-maintained.
1326  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain S19 Pro - Dead Hashboards on: July 01, 2023, 12:42:07 PM
I think it is due to delivery sometimes they don't handle them with care.

If you are far and shipping is expensive it would be better to repair it on your own.

How about trying to do some basic things first like upgrading the firmware of your 3 units to the latest version?

If it still doesn't work try to replug all cables of these 3 units and test it again.

1327  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: info about Ian Colman mnemonic on: July 01, 2023, 09:50:17 AM
It would be safe to generate mnemonic seed from iancoleman tool if you run it offline.
Make sure you never connect this device to the internet to make sure the seed you generated from the tool is safe.

I don't heard any alternative yet on iancoleman why not generate your seed into Electrum?
1328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transfers between Wasabi and (for example) Coinbase still possible? on: July 01, 2023, 08:40:03 AM
If you use the service Coinjoin on Wasabi there is a big risk that you can get tainted BTC so there is a potential risk if you send it to Coinbase they might freeze your account if they found that you use a CoinJoin service.

They know how to determine a transaction if you use CoinJoin read this Blockchain Analytics is Tricky at Scale

If you didn't use CoinJoin I think you are safe but it would be safer if you switch to another wallet like Electrum or sweep the private key to Electrum before you send it to CoinBase.
1329  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Where is Import option for Mycelium Wallet - iOS version on: June 30, 2023, 01:55:23 PM
Based on other users said there is no import option on IOS Mycelium unlike on Android phones.

What is your current backup? Is it a paper backup/private key or a seed phrase?
If it's a private key then switch to another wallet but if it's a seed backup you can restore it by deleting data and reinstalling Mycelium because you can only find the "restore backup" option on the first opening of the app look at the image below

1331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Lighting network first time trying it with Electrum on: June 28, 2023, 04:51:01 PM
I think only a wallet of Satoshi doesn't require a minimum amount to open a channel. Meaning it is ready to use if you install the wallet of Satoshi you can use it to receive BTC from NiceHash.

The wallet looks like an open-source wallet the only problem is it requires email to make a cloud backup. That's a bit risky than opening your own channel on Electrim.
1332  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin to introduce mandatory KYC on: June 28, 2023, 12:40:39 PM
This news sucks since Kucoin has been one of the most reliable KYCless exchanges left on the market

No, this is not the only exchange that doesn't ask for KYC there is also a Coinex exchange run by ViaBTC and also an OKX exchange(as optional) with a withdrawal limit for non-KYC users.

I'm sure there are more bad news coming for non-KYC exchange to force people into mandatory KYC.
1333  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance is Offering 30$ Fee rebate on: June 28, 2023, 08:37:58 AM
I already receive those vouchers every month I have vouchers for fee rebates sometimes $10 or $20 USDT I already use them 4 times.
But today, I didn't receive anything so it's exclusive only to random users only or to new users.

Look at my previous voucher expired that I didn't use last February below. But the voucher that I receive in March, April, and May I used them to get a few rebates.

1334  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: What are some active crypto advertising networks in 2023? on: June 27, 2023, 11:57:23 PM
Have you check these two advertising network below?

- Coinzilla
- A-ads

These two that I know active network as of now. Or check this list below you can find old and new advertising networks on that link.

1335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Connect mobile wallet to Full Node on: June 27, 2023, 04:37:50 PM

Not sure it supports multiple xpubs though: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/6016

I just tried today to import multiple xPub but it looks like Electrum doesn't support it yet and the advanced feature they mention on their GitHub page it seems it's not yet implemented.

I think if he only wants to monitor the balances of his wallet he can able to import multiple public keys but not xPub. The only problem is he won't be able to generate a new address.
1336  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you come up with reliable predictions for prices? on: June 27, 2023, 02:12:07 PM
Why not start to learn how to read candlesticks? That should be the first thing you need to learn for technical analysis to predict the next price movement you can check this link below

Also, I suggest to join on Binance Academy because they have lots of strategies that you can learn.

Another source is where you can start to learn how to trade is this link below you can almost see all tools there free and paid and they do also have lots of courses that you can read for free.

Once you learn from that source don't forget to test the skills and strategies on the trading simulator(listed from that source for free)
1337  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Minning on: June 27, 2023, 10:41:19 AM
Mining without any hardware? That's not possible at all.

Take note that anyone claiming that you can mine bitcoin without any need to hardware and just with going to a website, running an application, etc. is a scammer.
There are also services called cloud mining that claim that they sell you mining power. They are scam too.

Actually, there are still some legit seller who sells hashrate check the list below

- Nicehash
- MiningRigRentals
- Binance Cloud mining

Currently, only those 3 that I know legit who sell hashrate but Binance hashrate is sold out.
The only problem with buying a hashrate we do not know if it's profitable or not because they also ask for maintenance and electricity fees.

if i may ask, what's the least affordable price of a mining hardware

If you are looking for an affordable price you can buy 2nd hand units like Antminer s9 only if you have a very cheap electricity rate or have free power. Because old Bitmain units are not profitable unless you have free/cheap power.
1338  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Which oparating system distribution for hosting a Bitcoin Core node? on: June 27, 2023, 09:21:25 AM
Ubuntu Linux is the best to run a Bitcoin core node because they have a large community, it's secured and is way more stable than using other OS.
This means you can get more support if you experience some issues while running a full node.
1339  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: JSON-RPC spec for Wallets on: June 26, 2023, 11:51:37 PM
With a little bit of research using Google you can find them.

Anyway, check these links that I gather from Google these might be what you looking for.

- https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/doc/JSON-RPC-interface.md

If you don't mind can I ask if you are planning to develop your own wallet?
1340  Other / Meta / Re: Captcha slow to load on Safari browser on: June 26, 2023, 03:26:32 PM

I preferred because it’s smooth to use and I’m comfortable using it for my iOS gadgets.

Can you tell us what exactly IOS gadget you use when trying to load the captcha?
Also, tell us what version of Safari browse.?
And maybe you are trying to access the forum with an outdated IOS device or Safari.

I search a bit and it looks like the Safari browser has some bugs related to the captcha like slow loading or captcha that doesn't load properly.
So I think this is not a forum issue it's your device issue that might need to be fully reset or it needs to be upgraded to the latest version.
