1321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some of bitcoin's aim and purpose have been trampled upon on: November 10, 2023, 02:35:00 AM
Yes, it sucks, but always remember that Bitcoin is NOT a finished product (and maybe it will never be because there will always be something to improve upon). Bitcoin's rise in both price and usage is something that would probably surprise even Satoshi himself. Scalability will be improved. It's just a matter of 'when'.
I hope that 'when' is going to happen before bitcoin goes to my target price, I don't want to be paying myself about the chunk of what I hodl for selling it. Can we really blame that the network is going towards this way? Wasn't this kind of system of FCFS has been in existence for a long time now right? And this is the way to compensate miners for their effort now that bitcoin mining rewards are slowly reducing due to halving.

I think a lot of people are running out of contents that are concerning the gambling thread which will attract so many engagements from people in this forum and that's why they've now resorted to repetition of already discussed topics using different wordings. But I don't think it's the right thing to do because there's still so many things concerning gambling that are yet to be discussed and there are still other daily rising issues that are gambling related that can still be brought here for discussion.
Yeah, just like what you did you've just expanded what I've said and also I disagree that it's there's still a lot of things you can talk about when it comes to gambling because if there's more then people should be talking about it but no, it's all mostly stuff that has the same thought as the other posts that has the same theme and topic. Maybe the only stuff that can be continuously talked about are those daily stuff that you've mentioned like Sports News.

They just tend not to show that they are but for sure they’re nervous. They just have a stronger desire to win big time which pushes them to disregard the amount they are losing in every bet. It is normal to worry of your bets simply because that’s your money and you won’t be engaging it to this industry if you’re not aiming to make it bigger. Entertainment should be prioritized but we can never blame those who are here for money. If it is just entertainment then they could have engaged with other activities but since they’re here, there no other reason than to earn. Some are even having idea of becoming rich from winning bigtime someday which should be an enough validation that most of the people here are compensating their need to win than to enjoy the games they are playing.
Yes it's normal to worry about your money when you're gambling but if that's the only thing on your mind while gambling then you can't fully enjoy what you're playing because your mind is on a different plane and you're unlikely to concentrate when things like that are on your mind but I get that it's hard to do that especially if you're conscious on how you are spending your money and how you could've spend your money that you've used for gambling. I am not blaming them for why they gamble it's just that I'm concerned of their well-being where they take something so seriously.
1324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most you have ever lost in one session? on: November 08, 2023, 11:38:30 AM
Is there any way you can prove that OP, that's such a ridiculous amount of money for me so I really can't believe that someone can lose that amount of money, you can use Talkimg to post the picture and other people can just repost it so everyone can see it. For me though, I can't come close to what you've lost in gambling but in my perspective it's still a lot, somewhere around 1.5k USD but it's not a big deal at that time because I got a lot of money that time that I didn't even mind losing it but now, I regret having to go so deep like that because I always daydream about buying some stuff with those money if I still had that money, it's in the past now though and no sense dwelling on it too much.
1325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What conditions might cause you to stop gambling? on: November 08, 2023, 10:06:50 AM
Financial incapability to gamble and loss of function to mu daily life. First is self explanatory, some might say a gambling addict would be seeking for ways just to gamble but in my case I’d probably stop; depends on your personality by the way. Another is loss of function; if I wouldn’t be able to interact with my friends, do chores, finish my tasks then this would be the time to stop. Of course it won’t be easy in such state but knowing myself I would do things to cope up with the situation. As much as possible never allow yourself to be in such debt before realization knocks on your head ‘coz that would be a different level of struggle.
If you're not a gambling addict, I think that it's pretty easy for you to stop gambling due to financial incapability to fund your habit if you're an addict then that's not going to stop you. Your second condition is pretty much a profound and sad one, losing connection with the friends because of your habit is depressing and I think it's depending on someone's personality and will if they'll be able to stop because if the incessant gambling is the cause of that 2nd condition then it's difficult to just simply move away from gambling.
1326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Winning Wisely: Strategies to Protect Your Bankroll on: November 08, 2023, 07:35:32 AM
Another one of same repeated topics here in gambling section. I think a lot of users keep spamming this board with repeated topics.
I guess, they're running out of stuff to talk about so they just keep repeating the same thing and wording it in a different way so they can pump up their activities. Or there's a possibility that they're alts of some of the people in this forum and those people are running out of stuff to talk about in the Gambling Discussion so they have to take matters into their own hands or I am just being delusional and these people aren't alts but just ignorants that don't know that their topics are already a thing in the board.
1327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: November 07, 2023, 09:28:10 PM
Most gambling games are tied to probability and other factors that's outside a player's control and I think that if you consider that fact, it's really difficult to grasp the idea that you can build a successful career in gambling but yes, you can be a successful one in this although you're still a gambler so in a way you're just a glorified and lucky gambling addict plus is the money that's promised really worth it? Wasting your time sitting on those tables, sipping and drinking complimentary drinks and many other things, I don't know about you guys but if given a choice, I wouldn't probably choose that path trying to make money because it's going to get boring really quickly but that's just my take on building a successful gambling career, yiu can probably make a living being a billiards hustler but that's only going to take you so far.
1328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For Newbies Interested in Gambling on: November 07, 2023, 08:58:23 PM
I'm not much of a gambler myself but I can tell you that whenever I gamble, I always observe that a lot of players in that places are in a way not worried about the money they're losing probably because they're rich or they just don't want to be bitter about losing their money, my point here is that you're better off not worrying about what you're betting or how much you're losing because it takes away the fun out of gambling, like any other games out there that's not even gambling, it's important to have fun then the next priority is winning.

Well, we need to adopt the changes if that's what it is. But for Team Spirit, it seems that they're all in agreement and no changes is going to be seen.

I am looking for some clues about the roster shuffles but it seems that we don't have that much source this time. So I guess we just have to wait with lock ins for their rosters.
Depending on their performance on next year's tournamen and DPC Season, we will probably see some changes there but for now Team Spirit is in high spirits after taking the Aegis of Champions so it's still some time before they have to do some serious planning, hopefully they don't repeat their mistake last year or what happened to Tundra this year which is getting eliminated in the early stages of the tournament. I'm not that updated to shuffles but I can see sometimes players that are leaving the organization, I'm excited for shuffle for Chinese teams, they need to reorganize or have to broaden their horizons and join up with other teams, they always fumble when the matches are crucial.
1330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice for new comers on: November 07, 2023, 07:45:46 PM
Just don't go all in. Start with a small, manageable amount you can afford to lose. Think of it like dipping your toes in the water before diving in. Always do your homework on the platforms and go for the well-known and trustworthy ones. Avoid those shady schemes promising quick riches because they usually lead to disappointment. It's like finding the right party to hang out at and you want the one with a good crowd and positive vibes. There are a lot ot tips here in the forum. You will do well.  Smiley
Best thing to do if you're playing in an online casino but if you're going on some casino, you can probably consider observation first to see how the games are played, how the players play and if you're lucky, how the winners play. I think that it's common sense to avoid those schemes, didn't the Led Zeppelin said that all that glitters isn't gold? If something is just too good of an offer, there's probably a catch that's a total disadvantage to you. I can't really add any new advice since most of the advice that a newcomer should know is probably said already, I guess I just have to say that you should just enjoy gambling and never make it too serious.
1331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: November 07, 2023, 07:01:15 PM
I'm late to respond this but even tho AI is good when play a certain game but they didn't know card from the dealer card right?

Is stil 50.50 or I am Missing something here?
It's fairly easy even the AI doesn't know the card, you don't even have to use an AI as traditional programming might be able to help you with this one, if you can find a programmer that can create a card counting scheme that keeps track of the cards that's been used in the deck by the dealer and by the player, you can just deduce the possible cards that the other players are holding depending on the card count but that's not a guaranteed win as there's always that possibility that the other players will win plus in poker, you can bluff your way to intimidate your opponents and the AI can't keep track of the players' cards that have folded pre-flop so it's still not that good but if you really want to cheat in poker, why not just coerce the dealer?

1333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do You Plan to Make the Most of Your Bitcoin Investment Before the Halving? on: November 05, 2023, 08:30:34 AM
I do DCA and I don't plan to make any special changes, except maybe to do partial sales at ATH times, like when the price goes over $100,000 and things like that. But for me it's more of a long-term view, which includes a couple of cycles or more. Gradually continue to accumulate wealth in bitcoin and other assets.
We're close to doing the same thing although I'm on the grind right now so I can accumulate as much money as possible so I can buy more bitcoin, hopefully the prices go down temporarily as I have a substantial amount of fiat ready to be converted to be bitcoin, doing some overtime in my work helps with the accumulation too. I've set my sell out price the same as you too but I don't know yet if I'm going to sell everything or just the half of it and wait for it to go up more again and then sell the other half. I don't really like to plan too much on how I can accumulate more bitcoin before the halving, I don't my life to revolve around just accumulating bitcoin and having all the time of day to be just thinking about bitcoin so I avoid plans.
1334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the last 5 years compare to now on: November 05, 2023, 07:38:10 AM
Mass adoption by institutions will continue, and while retail investors can influence prices and market sentiment, large institutions wield even greater power through their actions with Bitcoin. More companies will start securing Bitcoin in their own wallets, anticipating a future filled with surprises from Bitcoin, courtesy of these major corporations.

In the years ahead, Bitcoin is poised to unveil more surprises, further increasing its value. Its limited supply compels everyone to vie for ownership, and Bitcoin ETFs serve as a significant gateway for institutional investors to enter the market on a grander scale.
If that's how things are going to happen then I guess the best course of action for retail investors like me is to just accumulate more bitcoin and hope that things are going to my way and hopefully reap a really good profit. I'm so scared and excited at the same time that the possibility of more corporations/institutional investors are getting in bitcoin is just getting more clear, I know that when they get in that the prices are going to go up in a way that some of us might've never imagined but at the same time, I fear that we might see these corporations at the long run, the only group that's circulating bitcoin because the retail investor can't buy a lot of bitcoin anymore or that the market manipulation will just get more rampant.
1335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A milestone of introducing and initiating a friend to Bitcoin investments on: November 05, 2023, 06:43:11 AM
Looks like it ended up great for you, but we really need to be very careful when pitching bitcoin to other people. It could end up really great with them if bitcoin pumps — but man if bitcoin's price goes the other way, it could end up really different for your relationship.
Depends on how you said it to that person though, if you're the kind that's talking only about bitcoin in terms of hype and all the positives and putting bitcoin on a pedestal so you can sell bitcoin to that person then be prepared to have that relationship to be gone because you deceived that person to some degree by telling them only the good stuff when there's also a lot of negatives that your friend could've been warned about. But if you've introduced your friend in a way that's informative but at the same time makes them do the decision of investing then I don't think that your relationship with that friend will be going anywhere bad.
1336  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I want to start a Gambling operation and you can join ! on: November 05, 2023, 06:04:59 AM
Turning into project startup simply because you lost your BTC, that you have your rent due in a short while is not the best of motives to drive you towards a startup. You will be under critical pressure and it will have a negative impact on the project you want to run.

Nobody wants to get involved in anything that will not benefit them, from your analysis, you'll take no time to prioritize your worries over the success of your project and therefore, I'll advise you face another direction to settle your life's worries before deciding to startup a project
Well duh, that's because OP is under pressure that he's desperate now to find a way to make some money in the hopes that he can pay the rent although I am skeptic about this project although I am skeptic it being a real thing, I disagree with your claim that this kind of thing is going to be problematic for any project startup because I think that in these desperate times, that's when the drive is much stronger.

And to OP, answer the questions that the others have asked, tell them your skillset or better yet, show your portfolio that you are a real deal and that all of this is a real project, prove my doubts to be wrong and hopefully you can find the people that's going to help you with your project.
1337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you leave gambling if your future wife/husband tells you to do this ? on: November 05, 2023, 05:22:36 AM

As we are the ones indulging ourselves in our various habits, it would be difficult to actually know and later drop such habit when it’s starting to be detrimental to our financial and mental wellbeing. And if our partner can notice it earlier, it’s best to heed to their advice and better quit before we get ourselves and our family ruined.
You don't need for that to happen if you know yourself and you know that your habit is a problematic one that can be detrimental to your relationship, you should make a move to break that habit from the start of the relationship, that is if that relationship is a serious one because there are other types of relationship that's not that serious so you can probably work with just limiting your time on that habit rather than breaking it. I think that if you're to start a family and you're in too deep in the relationship and then that's the only time that you're planning to break the gambling habit, you will probably have a hard time or you're going to fail.
1338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beginner needs your advices in gambling. on: November 05, 2023, 04:40:51 AM
In any case, it's good that you've done your fair share of homework first before actually diving into the world of online gambling, makes it easier for you to pick up on concepts and all that shit. But since you're playing on a low budget, I suggest you play some low stakes games instead, and don't play on automatic rolls cause it takes the fun out of gambling, especially if all that you ever really know to play is slots lol.
If that's the only game that OP plays, I suggest that he should start learning about other games because slots is boring af, it's not going to be that stimulating because even without the automation feature, the only difference is you're clicking to start the slots which is not my definition of fun. Try learning blackjack, poker or baccarat if OP wants to immerse himself to gambling, I don't think that there's no other way that you can get bored with those as most of them require your presence of mind which is definitely a crucial thing to have if you want to gamble and have a higher chance of winning.
1339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $50,000 betting goal by 2024. Share Your Thoughts With Me. on: November 05, 2023, 03:21:38 AM
I never set myself any goals in gambling. Of course, like any other gambler I wanted to win a large sum and I succeeded, but the goal of $50,000 is quite a high bar for annual earnings, especially when you consider that winning in gambling is not guaranteed and depends heavily on luck. In my country even to earn such money in a year is quite difficult, what to speak about earning this money on gambling.
If someone is determined enough to do this then you best believe that they will be able to do it, nothing wrong with believing in them because at the end of the day, it's their money anyway and it's not like you're going to be the one that's losing them so just cheer for OP and hope that he will be able to get to that goal. Also, I don't think that OP is going to be losing that quickly or won't be able to reach his goal because OP said that he's betting so the loses might be minimized especially if OP know what team he's going to put his money in.

Now in the subject of how OP plans to achieve this 50k betting goal, I advice you that with all that you're planning to do, it's always a safe choice to do the safest bets, those that will guarantee you win should be the pick no matter how stacked the odds is on the other team, that kind of scheme by betting services are designed so they attract risk takers that want to take chances on the likely to lose side.
1340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nigerians spend $975m daily on online betting on: November 04, 2023, 09:33:39 AM
I saw a comment on the article about the numbers not a viable thing and that there's a possibility that it's an inaccurate statistic since they came from the government which I think is a valid argument so hopefully there are other statistics that can at least back this up. Regarding the statistics though, if this is accurate then that's an alarming number because a population that's mostly gambling is likely a population that's experiencing high levels of poverty although that's just a conjecture, I do think that when more people are trying their luck with gambling, that can only mean that they're trying to find a way to get out of poverty in the quickest way possible which is gambling.

It remind me about this video on youtube, Gamblers Like Me: The Dark Side of Sports Betting from BBC Africa.
I was surprised when the first time seeing this video, bookies are opening their service such as a grocery store or a minimarket there.
Interesting story, here is the link if you want to watch it:

Wow, I need to watch documentaries again and these might be the best one to start my documentary binge. I didn't know that gambling was that thriving in Africa that they're building these kinds of establishments just for the purpose of catering to gamblers and make the gambling experience more convenient.
