1381  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Buy antminers with loan on: April 19, 2018, 07:17:23 PM
Hello guys, since you can make loan on buying any tech and etc things, is it possible to buy antminers officially from Bitmain with bank's loan?
I don't mean direct loan from bank, I mean loan you make when buying smartphones for example.
Also if this is possible, can we took loans online and which banks (your local) offers that? What are bank's terms? (interest %, period of loan).
I don't know why you would want to borrow a loan for an antminer.. I'd strongly advise you not to do so. Being liable is the last thing you would want. Because these antminer/s would give you the return in like I don't know how many months. So I'd seriously ask you to stay away from loans. Figure out some other way for buying an antminer.
Are you looking for a loan loan or an EMI?

1384  Economy / Exchanges / Re: South Korean and Chinese Exchanges on: April 14, 2018, 07:53:08 PM
This was discussed earlier, the downside to not using an "exchange" is the need to have QTs/Wallets for coins. Those wallets then send the coins to the Shapeshift (or in my case I use Changelly because Shapeshift user reviews leave me with no confidence in their service).
I have used shapeshift and things have gone well and not well at the same time. Here's how:
I used shapeshift for exchanging ripple and I forgot ignored the DT tag(this is the part where things didn't go well). I didn't get my money(it was worth 1000$ at that time) and I contacted the support. A couple of weeks later,I got my money back(this is the part where things go well). And thankfully I was patient enough and didn't panic.
The other thing that has been discussed recently has been the fact that instant swap facilities in most cases will use exchanges to convert and deposit and of course the transactions fees for the instant swaps will always be higher because of the structure and nature of their business. If the transactions are small the fees involved for instant swaps can be tolerated by most but high fees definitely put people off.
There isn't much difference between these exchanges,is there? Correct me,if I am wrong but the fees are almost the same. Shapeshift's feeshttps://info.shapeshift.io/about]fees[/url] are pretty much acceptable and these fees are same no matter how small or big the transaction is.
1385  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tradesatoshi is a scam ? on: April 14, 2018, 07:36:38 PM
Did you trade in Tradesatoshi? Is there any problem for withdrawals?
There are some articles that cover this area,so I'll link them down below:

Just give it a read, you should find what you're looking for.

The sad thing is is those answers are probably more articulate than your average P&S ones.
And they are comprehensible!  Whoop whoop!
Most posts sound like a 10 year beauty pageant contestants answering questions.
10 year beauty pageant answer better than those posters in politics and society.
1387  Other / Meta / Re: Tools to improve your English Writing on: April 14, 2018, 07:04:51 PM
bitmover, amazing initiative. But I really don't think alot of users shitposters are even bothering to read it.
I would suggest you to change the topic to : "Earn merit for free,by doing this simple task",and just see what happens. Idiots would come begging to you Wink.
1388  Economy / Exchanges / Re: South Korean and Chinese Exchanges on: April 14, 2018, 06:52:18 PM
Yes, it is nice to read wide arrays of opinions and views. Everyone has their own view and it is refreshing to read how any aspect forward of the crypto world should be paved.
I actually agree with that because that is one of my own important policies that I try to follow.
I completely understand your views about Shapeshift or those like might having to fill any void that customers might feel but we are not at the stage yet where it Changelly or Shapeshift reign supreme worldwide. Yes if these strong legislations make things hard for the Chinese and Korean markets or any other market where tight regulations exists then Changelly/Shapeshift are great ways to pay a fraction more but to get a coin exchanged.
The thing is shapeshift doesn't need any registrations,so no KYC and all that crap. Makes things much smoother. And best thing is that you don't get to store funds there,so you'll be forced to legitimate wallets, preferably offline ones. Shapeshift feels more like a exchange because all it does is exchange cryptos with cryptos. So the chances of users losing their funds due to using exchanges as their wallets and when the exchange gets hacked, those users lose their mind. Had they not used the exchange to store funds, they wouldn't had lost it.

Some bozo has decided to attack my "unofficially announced" website - BPIP.  :/
You sure its some bozo, and not someone who *hates* you? Undecided Because you know, you're Vod,people hate you for who you arei.e. fight scammers.
Hope your site comes up real soon. Good luck,

Really awesome thread, first post with all thoose good answers really did teach me something so thank you Smiley
Already good answers on it so wont try, but interesteing that something i had not heard of was first launched in 2009 and latest update is just 1 month old!
It looks like a complicated daemon to run.

Could i suggest the next question? "How does a bitcoin wallet work and what is the daemon role?" -Or something in that area Smiley
Thank you.
If you want to suggest a question, please go ahead. I am definitely not going to stop something that would encourage more learning.
I am really happy that people are learning something from this thread. There's another thread similar to this started by BTCforJoe, be sure to check it out.
1391  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: April 14, 2018, 05:35:36 PM
Hi Pugman, may I know the correct answer for this? Cause I want to add in the topic Cryptocurrency Lingo/Slangto help beginners. Thanks
I believe this one explains it properly :
A distributed ledger is a database in which the data is shared to all participants in the network. All those participants record, share an synchronize the whole data. There is no need for a central authority in a distributed ledger.  I read reports of early distributed ledgers in 80s and 90s, very interesting.

I think the most famous distributed ledger now is R3 Corda, and some banks are testing it for financial services. R3 Corda is based on blockchain. But it's designed for financial services. One interesting difference is that not all participants (nodes) have all data in R3 Corda.

Blockchain is somehow a distributed ledger. But the process of organizing the database throught blocks, and linking these blocks using hashes, the method of consensus based on Proof of Work, is totally different from a common distributed ledger.
1392  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: April 14, 2018, 12:15:18 PM
what is the correct answer to this question?
Question: Give a short summary on bitcoind.
What r1s2g3 had copied from here is what I was looking for but not in exact same text. I was looking for someone to understand it,and then writing it,even if it is wrong, doesn't matter, you'll learn. Someone or the other if not me will correct you with the right info. So,in other words,I haven't found a right answer from this thread even though I merited a couple of them.
1393  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinpayments HELL on: April 14, 2018, 12:12:15 PM
Hello,

Does anybody has any idea how to contact coinpayments.net by e-mail or other means? We are using coinpayments as a payment gateway, but their support system doesn't really exist. I have tried to contact them on several occasions, but there is always some bot closing my tickets automatically. I tried looking everywhere for their e-mail, or any other means of contact, but they are simply well hidden. I found a member of their team - MrData on the forum, but cannot message him/her either, as he/she does not accept messages from newbies on the forum.

It's a complete nightmare to try and get support from coinpayments.net
I'm opening this thread in the hopes that somebody from coinpayments will contact me back!
MrData was seen online yesterday but his last post was on January 25,2018.
Their slack contact is here: https://coinpaymentsnet.slack.com/
Did you contact them here?: https://www.coinpayments.net/supwiz-wallet
Their twitter is here: https://twitter.com/CoinPaymentsNET ; but like AdolfinWolf said, good luck with them contacting you back.
Can newbies with copper membership message anyone who has blocked PMs from newbies?
1394  Economy / Exchanges / Re: South Korean and Chinese Exchanges on: April 14, 2018, 12:06:12 PM
Thank you, very interesting post from you.
Really? Shocked
Do you think some day soon platforms such as WAVES exchange might be moving forward to challenge greatly the existing status quo?
Waves exchange? Not really, like I said all the existing decentralized exchanges have been shit thus far,we need something new, more like shapeshift or bittrex, because I love these two exchanges because of their awesome easy to use UI. But bittrex fucked themselves over real bad Undecided.
There are a few decentralized exchanges that you might want to see even I don't like/use them: https://decentralize.today/where-the-hell-is-my-decentralized-exchange-adafd87dc439
1395  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: April 14, 2018, 12:01:40 PM
Whoa! I've answered it correctly I guess? Didn't expect that I will tho. Grin, but hey! TBH I just recently bumped into his thread yesterday and I don't really know that there is this kind of service. I really learned a lot and I added this thread to my watchlist. Hope that this thread continues to function even if pugman and bill gator run out of sMerits to give because as I went to the whole thread, it seems there are a few members with many sMerits that would like to chip in if ever you guys are running out of it.

Anyways, I gave back the merit I received in hope that it could also help others to be awarded. If I may ask, I understand that after being merited for answering the question, I should not participate in the next question but I can participate in the question after that right? Even so, can I still answer your next question even if I am not merited for it? I just want to know if what I learned/understand about it is correct or not, you can just quote my answer if it correct or wrong then.
Your answer was not entirely correct, but you did mention some valid points and most of it made a little sense. This is not a service but rather this is just a thread where you learn things about bitcoin. Thank you for your offer, but don't worry,I have a few merits and it should probably last for a while. If ever we need any assistance with smerits,I am sure other members would step up for it.

Thanks for giving me the merit but I'd rather ask you to give the merit to someone who deserves it more,I cannot rank up any further,so it'd only make sense.

You can answer how many ever questions you want, unless and you until you repeat the same points that others have mentioned. I'll surely correct you but sometimes I get a little busy and things get super clogged up but whenever I get the time,I'll surely let you know.
1396  Economy / Exchanges / Re: South Korean and Chinese Exchanges on: April 13, 2018, 11:59:41 PM
Even if platforms and exchanges are decentralised there is still the scope of potential lawsuits where governments have banned those exchanges and they are not moved offshore. All things said, where will these Korean and Chinese investors go after their regular exchanges close?
About the chinese, they have moved. An article by the Merkle: https://themerkle.com/chinese-exchanges-move-abroad-in-search-of-friendlier-regulation/
If governments decide to ban exchanges which is essentially the most they can do effectively, trading will still happen privately, either on a p2p trading platform such as localbitcoins and paxful, or even through trading groups or even in real life.

If more regulations roll in then I think current exchanges will lose a lot of popularity due to over the top KYC and AML measures, as well as batrading ns imposed by regulators. This is why I think decentralised exchanges will become more popular in the near future, if they can be effectively implemented.
For starters bittrex and poloniex lost their entire rep because of this. For coinbase, well i don't know but they have always been compliant to regulations. Binance has been doing well but one day or the other, the end will come where they will be forced to regulation.

Decentralized exchanges have been shit all this far. There is a need for emergence of a good decentralized exchange, otherwise P2P trading platforms would be the only go to option.

South Koreans are loyal to their government so its likely that they will never move, and they have already started implementing regulation if I am not mistaken.
1397  Other / Meta / Re: NEW Image Upload System? on: April 13, 2018, 11:15:14 PM
The forum acts as a proxy for embedded images, so the server load won't increase if BCT would host all images. It could even decrease as it doesn't need to be downloaded by the server every time.
I remember theymos saying that bitcointalk has a image proxy here, but I forgot about it when I wrote that post. So thanks for correcting me,a very few people do that, but nonetheless.
The forum wouldn't get better if it becomes too easy to add many pictures to posts. Now imagine seeing all kinds of different smileys and memes all the time, it won't improve the forum.
This would be a nightmare. Spamming would actually go to a next level.
But bitch you ain't gonna get merit for that.
1398  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Poloniex continues to fucking suck, despite Circle buying them (14 day withdraw) on: April 13, 2018, 11:10:23 PM
I certainly wasn't expecting much.  Circle strike me as one of those style-over-substance outfits.  They think if they sit there trying to look edgy and cool that people will take them seriously.  All hype, no action.  Then, when it turns out they don't actually have a legitimate business plan, they blame someone else for their own shortcomings.

Honestly, I doubt it's going to get better.

The only reason people thought their first attempt at an exchange was a big deal is because no one could get an invite.  Not because it was massively popular, but because they couldn't even support the limited number of customers they had, so couldn't expand the business by accepting any more.  It was destined to fail and it did.  All the signs seemingly point to a repeat performance with Polo.
Well can't agree more. Also I stumbled upon this article where the Circle Poloniex team says what they are planning to do. Made me chuckle on how much they are bullshitting. Cheesy
I'm not being rude.

I did expect them to be better... O well.
Oh don't mistaken me. I am not saying that you're being rude. What I meant is be a little polite in your support tickets to poloniex, might help your issue getting solved much faster. I don't know if this would actually work in theory but I have seen that people don't act well when you swear/be angered at them, this lowers their morale as they have to go through the same shit over and over again.
1399  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Poloniex continues to fucking suck, despite Circle buying them (14 day withdraw) on: April 13, 2018, 07:58:20 PM
I'm so fucking annoyed with myself for trying them again.

They hung some funds up in January for me as well... took forever to get sorted out.

I'm not going to let it happen again.

PS: Still no funds or response
To be honest 13 days is no where near to the number of days poloniex used to lock/disable access to the user's funds. Probably I can only tell you to be a little patient and non harsh to them, because these people definitely don't like "rude behaviour".
But did anyone seriously expect poloniex to get better after Circle purchased it?
1400  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Poloniex continues to fucking suck, despite Circle buying them (13 day withdraw) on: April 13, 2018, 07:49:44 PM
Why Asia? Is it to get away from American regulators?

Asians are less stupid and lazy than Americans as a whole.

It is an odd one. If they're thinking of trying to dominate Asian markets that would be a big old task and they could throw infinite money at it and get nowhere.
Also if they expand in Asia, their cost would cut down by a huge margin. Asia is much cheaper than the US. Circle can easily double their cash flow by this. This is something that most of the US companies are doing, set up a company in US,and make a "good name" of themselves in the market, and when things go smoothly, they show their real ambition, that is sell their company to a Asian guy for millions of dollars,or they just move their entire business to somewhere in Asia. It really boosts up their cash flow, seriously.
