View only, so check the doc chat, a couple of comments there.

Thanks, made those changes.

Edit: That first one was in the PR template given to me, I didn't even notice it. The second was a total typo. Much appreciated.

-[Announcement!]-

BURST Windows GUI Wallet/plotter/miner Setup.exe is now released!!!

Here's a link to the instructional video...

https://youtu.be/8FHvD3b30ks

You will find a link there for the download of the exe, but here it is as well...

https://sourceforge.net/projects/burstwindowswallet/files/Win32/BURST_Wallet_GUI_Setup.exe/download

We hope you all enjoy the ease-of-use that is now BURST and Windows!

I haven't been here for a while, but like the new GUI setup. Only suggestion, maybe make a solo mining option and the ability to use the gpu plotter. Also, I notice that burstcoin hasn't been online for a while, why don't y'all just take it over. I understand he has a life and what not or maybe having a personal issue at the moment, but that shouldn't stop the progress of this coin. Wasn't there an original plan to link this coin to SuperNET or something similar?

Keep up the good work and I appreciate it, sure the community does too....

Thanks. Those things are all planned for future releases.

We will not let the development on the coin stop, if we deem a takeover necessary, that will be what will happen. Thanks for the comments!

Right On!!!  Cool

Also, how about getting some people to go to some of the crypto conferences for PR?

Since the GPU miner is out, are HDD's now a bottleneck? How much more power consumption does the GPU miner compare to the Blago miner or other miners?

Absolutely @ conferences, anything near me in the West side of the US, I would go absolutely.

Please feel free to post any announcements on these types of things, and we'll keep our eyes open as well.

Honestly, based on my usage of the GPU miner, I'm thinking it is going to be even more efficient than CPU since it doesn't have to work as hard to read the plots faster.

We're heading in the right direction as far as the GUI and GPU mining capabilities.

This coin is still destined for greatness, even if it takes longer than we thought, no big deal!

I still have plenty of other ideas we can make happen even without any changes to the main code, the coin already has so much stuff we can make use of.

I don't think the main dev has disappeared either, he mentioned needing some time for something, and I'm gonna let him have it, he deserves it for all the work he did getting BURST to existence!

But the community need not worry, we still have a dedicated core of people that will not let the coin disappear, and we're always on the lookout for more people who are willing to get involved, and help in any way possible, be it development, PR, or whatever else! So yea, BURST isn't going anywhere!

This is AWESOME! Thanks a lot ... daWallet and crowetic! This is a big step ahead!
I always had something like this in mind and i know that it was a lot of work.

Thank you Smiley

daWallet was the one that did all the hard work, I just compiled the setup.exe and made the video Smiley

I hope this will bump BURST up the ladder in ease-of-use!

Share with everyone!

I emailed a bunch of crypto news sites, and also tried to submit a PR to coindesk, but apparently my PR doc skills aren't up to par, it keeps getting rejected probably due to formatting, I'll keep reformatting it and trying again! lol.

edit: if anyone would be able to help me formatting it... https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nwHUjHcNc4sdzLa5F1MIGGcKgUdf6ArfeInWOvnl5mE/edit?usp=sharing

and yes, I did remove the links, so it isn't from that.

I have enjoyed mining burst from the very beginning just because POC was different than anything else out there and actually quite fun with the learning curve of plotting, mining, and now even GPU assisted mining. Some really cool advancements have been made.

There is just nothing to make people want to invest in Burst despite some of the very nice features under the hood like AT that few are aware of. Besides gambling with Burst and investing in a few assets in the asset exchange what purpose does it have.... The built in Marketplace could also be a nice way to draw people in but without a way to browse listings and need to know Account ID of someone who has posted something for sale that is also useless.  I don't feel the new all in one solution crowetic is making will be enough to save Burst. If something like that was available from the start of Burst it would have made it much further.

Most existing miners will probably be giving up on Burst in favor of things like Storj where with 10k coins you can actually get rewarded now for providing storage space in Test Group B. This at least shows signs of a brighter future of decentralized apps and actually making use of the used hard drive space instead of wasting it for the sole purpose of an energy efficient mining alternative.

I do believe the Dev is likely still active behind the scenes pressing forward. When the Dev rarely posts to the thread with any type of update of progress or what a current roadmap is it makes you want to sell and just be done with it. For Burst to be a year old and you still need to manually type in /rewardassignment.html to set that is absurd.

Myself and others would probably be more motivated to donate to a PR campaign when the product is updated a little more frequently or some type of consistent communication from Dev.....even once a week 5 minutes of time is not too much to ask. Once I see that I will donate 100k Burst toward PR. If Burst shows signs of life it would be worth a donation, many people have posted over and over asking Dev for a simple post once in a while with a progress update. Even if weekly updates were provided exclusively on burstforum.com it would be progress and maybe draw people away from a 1100+ page thread here.

Thanks for an interesting read in this mess of a thread Smiley

I'm aware that the Devs have been doing promotion for the coin, but it really hasn't given too much results. I believe that BURST simple wasn't ready for a PR campaign. It was and still is way too difficult to get started to get people involved, despite all innovation.

With daWallet's program for plotting and mining (and a wallet), with a simple setup.exe, we get something really significant to lower the level of entrance for regular people. That should be promoted hard.

Also, as I written before, the coin needs a detailed roadmap, for technological, software and promotional development. As far as I understood crowetic, this will be done. It remains to do a few things after that, like updating and simplify the OP and making use of the blog.

I strongly believe that BURST will be reborn with these measures and some more. BURST was practically impossible to promote until now. To focus on software and infrastructure development the last months is, I think, the best choice that the Devs could do. Now, from 30 sats, BURST is ready for its first baby steps.

Also, to make a short addition to this...

http://burstcoin.info/market/

Above is the link for the marketplace explorer. Which will be getting further development done as well (I have some great ideas for the marketplace as a whole, that I think will make BURST VERY used, and make people want to use the coin more than ever!)

But yea, we definitely agree with you about having a use for the coin, and have many ideas to conduct this usability, and re-introduce the coin to the people with more usability.

Such as our setup.exe for the Windows Wallet GUI plotter/miner for BURST! This will make the coin EXTREMELY SIMPLE TO USE! Which I believe is the first step to mass-adoptability!

Thank you for being a long-standing member of the community, and stay tuned like Y mentioned, we're just getting started!

<3 to the BURST community!

I am very excited for today!

-All tests completed for installer and wallet/plotter/miner GUI for windows!

-We have ideas for the next version already, but we think this one is good to release!

-After I make my video on how to use it, I will post it here, on twitter, and release a PR document to multiple news sites, including coindesk.

Smiley

this is simply AWESOME, im very excited too!! cant w8 to check it, jeje

as soon as you guys release it i will take a look on it. ty for the good job guys, keep going on!!

Great work, this is a large step forward for Burst Smiley Hopefully it's as good as it sounds, and also able to update in the future (luxe's miner Wink ).

Unfortunately, during my how-to video, I came across an issue in the most recently implemented change. daWallet will have to modify it once again before I can release it. Release will probably have to be pushed back until maybe tomorrow.

Sorry, I was super excited, but can't release something that has an issue, it will just make us look bad... it is a simple fix he can either roll back to the previous version, or fix the newly implemented change.

https://wallet.burst.city/atcrowdfund.html

at the above link, which is implemented in the ONLINE WALLET.... you can see that I've created a crowdfund AT to help support development and promotion, of which only 17k BURST has been donated thus far.

I also posted a direct BURST donation link.

as y mentioned (sorry I can never remember how to spell your name correctly...) we ARE thinking of PR, and many other things, including some awesome development of GPU miner and GUI for windows (long awaited.)

y, we would love any assistance from the community, and if you'd like a page as you mentioned in your pm, I'm sure we can accommodate that. Also, we do have an email list, I'll have to get that information from another member of the team, as he was the one that developed it.

Yes, I'll be contacting the news agencies, and we have some contacts within a few of them we've already dealt with, but if anyone has ANYWHERE WE CAN POST PRESS RELEASES  such as the one you mentioned in your PM, that would be GREATLY APPRECIATED, as I know for myself, I don't have a huge amount of time, other than the few hours a day I try to donate to BURST development and PR, to go searching for things like this, if people already know, then posting or telling me in PM would be greatly appreciated, and would help to further BURST.

As I always mention, we will not give up on this coin, as we firmly believe that HDD mining, and BURST in particular, is the future of crypto.

I have a PR template already setup, and will be writing up a document about the release of the one-click setup for the GUI/wallet we're finishing up testing on now.

I am also going to be making a VIDEO on how to use this setup, and the wallet with GUI plotting and mining functionality, to link to with the release of the document.

I'm not sure if I will be able to complete ALL of this today, but it will for sure be within the next few days. We came across a couple changes we are making now, but overall everything is working, and upon testing on multiple OS versions and newly installed VMs without any of the dependencies, everything came out great!

I will keep everyone updated on the progress. Thanks.
1416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: August 13, 2015, 03:05:59 PM
Such an interesting novelty coin, why is it continuously dropping in price?

Because of the idiots like Elmit above^^

There are not any solid reasons for the coin's drop in price, aside from the fact that people may be losing their tolerance of the nonsense that is caused by a few rogue troll community members.

There will be a realease (I'm hoping today, just doing final testing on it now) of a fully featured setup.exe for a BURST windows wallet/plotter/miner GUI!

At the time of this release, and coordination with a few other people on the team, I will push this information to the news agencies, in order to let the world know that the greatness and power efficiency of HDD mining is now brought to the masses with ease-of-use. Which I believe is one of the main reasons we don't have more people involved in the coin as of now.

Seeing as the coin was fairly difficult to use in the beginning, and still is not super simple without a bunch of reading and figuring things out (unless you're extremely tech savvy), that is likely one of the main reasons there aren't more people involved.

With the release of the all-in-one, setup.exe installer, Wallet/plotter/miner GUI for BURST, anyone with a windows based machine, and the ability to click, can plot, mine, and take advantage of the many amazing features inside of the BURST wallet!

So stay tuned, world. Soon anyone will be able to plot their extra hard drive space and mine our wonderful coin.

There is already a GUI for linux, but the world of Windows users is much more vast, and the world of noobs in Windows is what we're trying to penetrate here! (I don't use the word noob in a derogatory way, btw. Just people that aren't extremely tech savvy.)

Thank you all (the good community of BURST, and not the annoying trolling freaks), for making BURST such a great coin. We will see a rise in both usage, and network size, I believe, shortly after the release of the one click setup.

Thank you for your time. Wink

Was BdeBank a scam or what?

I received 2% from BdeBank, 300 Burst. I own 300 shares (15,000) *0.02 = 300

I don't know if maybe there is a ex dividend date, you might of missed?

I also didn't get the entire 2% I was supposed to... I don't think that boba would scam people on purpose, I will attempt to contact him and find out what may have happened.

nope, lol. Still going strong, in fact a new update was posted today! xD

lmfao... but in reality, yes, I believe it is coming to an end. And/or he is going to attempt to restart the ponzi, but I don't believe anyone will ever see the coins that are owed to them.

It must be added there so somebody fill out that form please!
https://yobit.net/en/addcoin/

Can anybody please add it to Yobit, it only takes 2 minutes to fill out that form, and they will add it in 1-2 days.

C`mon guys, i really want to invest in BURST, but i dont have account in other exchanges right now.

I really don't understand why it is that hard to make an account on Trex, polo, or C-Cex?
