1421  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning online more preferable than offline? on: May 22, 2023, 09:25:40 AM
I don't know what your level of experience is OP but I want to point out that most of your positions are faulty without sounding condescending.

Earning money online is far superior to working at a physical establishment during the day.
None is superior to the other. Making legit money is making legit money everywhere in the world. If you mean in terms of the ease of operation, convenience and flexibility which online has we can say there's an edge. This is because anyone into online business can assess their business even from the confines of their toilets or bedrooms or even on the move in public. That doesn't mean it's superior to offline in terms of ROI.

Quote
Although offline is highly appreciated and difficult.
On the contrary, online is more difficult to handle than offline with all the numerous complexity of scams and all that. We also have the technicality issues to deal with.

Quote
I strongly advise anyone who is going through a terrible time in their life to learn to trade since it provides them a clear sense of purpose other than waiting for jobs.
In fact, this is the opposite. Anyone going through a terrible time in their life should avoid online trading. Trading needs controlled emotion and not uncoordinated mindset.

Quote
So, which is better, online or offline?
For me I choose online over offline because it affords me ease of mobility. I don't get stuck at a place to monitor my sales. I've a better opportunity to plan my stuff and I'm more flexible with time.
1422  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Menbership- 3.5m registered only 56k members survived?..... Why? on: May 22, 2023, 07:54:09 AM
I acknowledge that is place is not a forum that you can get flowing immediately you join.
To be honesty, I think this forum is more friendly to navigate than most crypto fora I've come into contact with. The only thing that should be confusing will be the boards and their areas of discussions which are mostly technical. As someone who had zero knowledge of Bitcoin coming to this forum, one is bound to be lost a few times around subject matters. What I did when I came here was to start with Off Topic and Politics boards to further arouse my interest and that kept me posting while reading about Bitcoin to get myself abreast it. It's the same thing I advise those I bring to the forum or newbies with zero Bitcoin knowledge to do.

Quote
This forum goes no where till the last bitcoin is mined Grin
Infact, it goes no where till bitcoin disappears.
Hopefully our wishes stay that way. However, we can't be too sure as unfolding events may suggest otherwise especially with government anti-Bitcoin policies or allegations of criminality against projects advertised here like the case of CM. That could (in my thinking though) cause trouble for the forum too.

The forum has become more accommodating than it usually was when the likes of Lauda and her gangs were giving newbies a nightmare. The DT system is more friendly now as minor things that would had easily gotten your account red trusted are now been overlooked.
Yes, you're right. I remember that era too. Compared to what we've now we can say now is more accommodating. Most of the OGs in DT then have relaxed their rods and I think it's to the benefit of this forum. Even now, any DT on loose will have other DT members who will call them to order if they overstepped their limit.
1423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Overcoming my fear of bitcoin and online businesses on: May 21, 2023, 06:33:26 PM
I wonder what can be done to track this scammers and give them justice for their wicked deeds?
This industry is not regulated yet and it's a bit hard tracking scam projects, especially if team members are anonymous (which most of them are). In the past, I also invested in projects like that at ICOs. Ignorant is bliss like they say. A greater number of them rugpulled on investors and disappeared into thin air.

By the way OP, you've to merge your posts by editing the ones above my comment so you don't double post. It's against forum rule to double post.

* For clarity – to double post means to post more than once in a roll without having another user(s) in between your posts before you post again.
1424  Other / Meta / Re: Crimes of signatures campaign affects forum? on: May 21, 2023, 06:13:53 PM
I have taught of this seriously and I began to have a biased concern to bitcointalk if any signatures campaigns in bitcointalk can affects the existence of bitcointalk if they commit a crime that leads to government investigations.
I guess you're making reference to the not too distant event with CM campaign and its sad end. To a great extent I do believe the abrupt manner that mixer site was shutdown showed the dimension and seriousness with which government could take things to if it meant it. I'm not a tech person but I do believe shutting down of this forum could also be possible but that could only be if there's incriminating evidence against it. CM fell out with the law and its advertisement ended here immediately. Except government can sufficiently prove that BTT was an active partner in the whole saga, I don't think it would want to go that way seizing its domain.

Quote
This idea came to me through what happened to the site of bitcointalk few days ago which I couldn't logins my account for sometimes, I wasn't happy when the incident occur.
Oh, really? I didn't even think of that dimension when I got a lot of calls and offline messages in that regard from members on this while BTT was down a few days ago. If I did, I would've played a fast one on those worrying callers by pranking them that the site had been yanked off by government 🤪
1425  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Menbership- 3.5m registered only 56k members survived?..... Why? on: May 21, 2023, 05:02:05 PM
Lets Talk... Cool
Generally, I think of two factors that could be responsible for what you've observed regarding the decline. The first you mentioned "unfriendly environment for Newbies/users?" is my pick. I've read posts from veterans who said they were leaving the forum for what they termed the unabated toxic nature of the forum.

The second factor is the peak and off peak periods of Bitcoin circle. We tend to have more active users here whenever there's Bitcoin bull rally and vice versa. The excitement is often electrifying during bull period and we get to see many accounts come alive to make contributions and participate in signature campaigns. There's proliferation of signature campaigns around this period as many new projects tend to spring up, both scam and genuine ones.

Going forward, I think the numbers will be better next year as we get into the bull season.
1426  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which wallet should a beginner choose? on: May 20, 2023, 06:26:02 PM
I decided to buy a wallet and try to make money on the crypt.
There are good and easy to use Bitcoin wallets that you can get for free online, why waste money paying for one when you're still finding your way in this industry. Try Electrum wallet (someone already supplied the link above). It's free and on Android Playstore. See if your interest in Bitcoin remains high before doing further investment on wallet purchase. BTW, what did the person who introduced this forum to you tell you regarding this or you stumbled on this forum without a mentor like me too?
1427  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] Yo!Mix Bitcoin Mixer Signature Campaign| Reward up to $130/w | GREEN ZONE on: May 20, 2023, 04:30:34 PM
Maybe you don’t get the message. But all I’m saying is your use of the word “terrible” to describe your experience and not your desire to work with him again.
Perhaps Patrol69 meant "terrific" as used in that context.
1428  Economy / Economics / Re: Why you should use spare money to invest on: May 20, 2023, 12:56:56 PM
~
For me, it's either Bitcoin or nothing else. I might consider ETH, but I am not considering other coins just yet.
It's not as if I don't have investments in altcoins. Of course, I do. I've an appreciable amount in altcoins and I do believe that on the short term altcoins give better ROI than Bitcoin. However, anyone investing in altcoins should be extremely cautious. For newbies, they should avoid alts investment totally if they can. The point I laboured to draw out there in the other comment is why would anyone intentionally invest in obvious Ponzi projects and the feelers I get is because of the mouth watering packages or returns these projects promise the public.
1429  Economy / Reputation / Re: Be very CAREFUL if you gonna do any business with this user! on: May 20, 2023, 12:33:02 PM
I do this for the safety on this forum.
Thanks for alerting the community. However, I do believe that anyone who gets scammed by a newbie account should've themselves to blame. I mean, on what grounds will anyone solely trust an account that young which virtually has nothing to lose even if it gets red trust? It doesn't make any sense to me. Now that the account has been tagged, the user will obviously create another account and continue with fresh gullible victims. Nothing to lose for them. A few days ago on a different thread I made a post suggesting why the lack of moderation on scam should be reviewed. It's because of related issues like this.

Here are 5 ways to diversify your income with crypto.

-crypto trading and investing.
- (OTC) over the counter trading.
- cryptocurrency jobs.
- Arbitrage.
- hunt for new coin...
Having more than one stream of income is no doubt a given. However, what you've on your list aren't different sources of income. To the best of my perspicacity, they're just one stream of income in different tags. To have another source or stream of income is to venture into something totally different from what one is already doing. Let's imagine that one calls all that different sources of income and then cryptocurrency is banned or goes extinct, do you think one will still have anything doing to survive there? Of course, not. Diversification and away from the same industry is the definition of different sources of income. Do cryptocurrency, do stocks, do poultry, get a regular office job, own a barbershop etc; if one can do all that then one has different streams of income.

Are you Invariably saying I'm good?
Whoever introduced you to this forum must be very proud of you. You haven't disappointed them. Keep it up and don't lower the bar.

Congratulations, Obari. It's a saying that good things don't hide, like the gold fish they will surely be discovered. You indeed put in a good showing and have shown that you're determined to succeed. You deserve it all. It's just a pity I was always short on merit whenever I stumbled on your posts. I guess you're in luck today.
1434  Economy / Reputation / Re: 1xbit the incurable virus on: May 18, 2023, 04:37:21 PM
Scams are not moderated here...
I wonder why that's still so till date. I think it's time that got reviewed.

Quote
even if the campaign participants comes out and buzz they didn't get paid for their participation of promotional campaign there is no change for them because their reputation is already ruined...
Those whose accounts got red tagged two or three years ago know what the disadvantages of joining in such a scam tagged campaign are and how they can't find a different campaign thereafter. For those who are rushing into it now, I can only say they shouldn't jeopardize their account by joining. Steer clear of such. Scam is a serious issue here even though it's not regulated and I honestly don't know why it's that way.

The new member will be LogitechMouse. Welcome on board!
I know I've seen this user a few times online though can't remember exchanging any direct correspondence with them. Nonetheless, I know their posting habit isn't bad. Nice choice once again, BestChange. LogitechMouse, welcome to the green fam; and like they say in my local parlance – the land is green!
1436  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Overcoming my fear of bitcoin and online businesses on: May 18, 2023, 02:11:06 PM
Your first choice is stepping out to confront that fear which eclipsed you in the past. That you've successfully done. The second part is to realize that those who quit don't win and those who later won never quit. Now that you're here, you should embrace learning like it will go out of fashion in the next minute. Read and learn to develop and resolve whatever nagging questions you think you've. Ask questions where necessary and don't be shy to do so. Before long you will also begin to sound high like those you envied before now. The last, and the most important, be vigilant while you're online. Even on this forum, be vigilant. Anyone who sends you a private chat or link or talks to you about business in private is obviously a scammer. Be warned.

1438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How do you decide on a buy price target? on: May 16, 2023, 10:02:49 PM
Now they are both in freefall and I'm considering an entry point.
To avoid catching a falling knife, the first thing you or anyone who's interested in a project that's dumping should do is to quickly rush to any social media outlet of the project to find out why the dump is happening and if there's any internal scruples. You can't miss this if there's anything wrong going on. Someone on the media channel is bound to expose it. Don't rush to buy any coin because you feel the price has depreciated. Find out why first.

How do you decide where to take the plunge?  A certain %drop from the top or a %above bottom?
I do random buying using the DCA technique.
1439  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yet another bitcointalk account seller on: May 16, 2023, 08:28:54 PM
why sell these accounts when you can make a lot of money yourself by joining various campaigns?

By claiming to have an account does not mean they actually do. Maybe it is another way to simply scam by taking money from buyers and then not delivering the account because they simply do not have it.
I'm sure the account seller quoted those low prices for the various accounts to quickly draw their victims in. It's obvious that it's a scam waiting to happen. Either of these two scenarios, one will play out – there are no accounts to be sold in the first place or the  accounts have some forms of tags on them. Again, you talked about why didn't the account seller go into signature campaigns instead of selling the account. Truth remains that not everyone can make posts (constructively) to even save their own life.
1440  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammers on the forum. on: May 16, 2023, 08:12:57 PM
Another question that leads to this is why in this sales topic on the forum do you have the option to leave the post blocked for replicas?
This option had to be prohibited for buyers to report whether they received the product or not.
This feature and the fact that scam isn't  moderated here are some of the things everyone should frown at. Plagiarism is frown at as property theft, so how come the real stealing and robbery aren't sanctioned? This is complicated for me as it beggars explanation. It's a bunch of contradiction, to say the least. OP, sorry for your loss. You've learnt your lesson from that encounter and I believe perhaps next time you won't fall prey.
