If you have a lot of money and want to do something special out of boredom, you can buy yourself in on a spaceflight to the international space station.

You will sleep in a ISS hotel room for $35.000 per night.

Quote
Nasa is opening the International Space Station to commercial opportunities and marketing these opportunities as we've never done before," chief financial officer Jeff DeWit said in New York

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-48560874

Unfortunately, that does not include the trip up...though...maybe you could get a 'free ride' up from a UFO if you let them do the ...well you know...(ewwwww....)

once you are at the ISS it is ONLY $35k a nite Smiley

The Wall Street Journal Business Section - Some Bet Bitcoin Price Could Reach $50,000
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/bwnzos/wsj_business_section_some_bet_bitcoin_price_could/

The way the 'news' works these days. Online/Paper/Magazine etc. Is if they have an article like that this week. They can get all the 'positive'
individuals/types on crypto to read and/or eyeball their site Ads for more $$$. Eyeballs for Article for the 'Crypto Fan Base'. (all them Ad $$$)

I will bet that within the next month there will be a NEW article in the same area of that paper, that will claim that Facebook Coin will kill
Bitcoin and/or Altcoins dead. To get the eyeballs of the skeptics of cryptocurrency in Online/Paper/Magazines. Thus the 'negative' types
will eyeball such see their Ads for the rest of the $$$. Eyeballs for Articles for the 'Fools Theory' on Crypto Fan Base that Crypto is all 'Tulips' and a scam.

It is the 'perfect' way to get readership. Boom or Doom. Rinse/Wash/Repeat. You get 'everybody' with an opinion from the wildly optimistic on crypto/BTC/Alts
to the 'widely' pessimistic on crypto/BTC/Alts. With all the various shades in the spectrum from one end to the other.

Again, Rinse/Wash/Repeat. Expect it. Smiley

1503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Church of Satoshi and Latter Day Coins on: June 04, 2019, 11:19:41 PM
I'm sure people have noticed how eerily similar to religion Bitcoin is becoming. The mythical founder, the email disciples, the followers. This message board as a proto-bible of texts, the wiki and the churches efforts to consolidate a one-true-book. The false prophet of Real Solid, the breakway protestants of Litecoin and the cults of BBQ, IO,IX..... the small monastery of Dev coin. Our prayers to Satoshi in the form of mining- doing Satoshis' work, The Charlaten of Pirate. And of course- the eternal blockchain. The collective memory of our entire universe.

So why doesn't someone just do it already- and register the Church of Satoshi? There is certainly enough philosophy here.

How does one become ordained?

A 2012 quote. But still.

How does one get ordained?

Searing. Bishop of The Church of Satoshi.

Hopefully, we won't find out he is the Anti-Christ: Craig Wright. (shudder) Smiley

1504  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: project bitcoin miner : partnership on: June 04, 2019, 11:16:09 PM
Snarf. Smiley

Scam be the odds on this. Though it would be nice to believe in Unicorns...I guess I'll pass.
1505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC: moon or doom? on: June 04, 2019, 08:20:26 PM

LTC: moon or doom?

Current Status: doom.

(We thank you for this LTC public service (obvious in 20/20 hindsight) announcement)

We now return you to your regularly scheduled: Porn.

1506  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: US Tariff Ruling N297495 = 2.6% mandatory tariff on bitcoin mining hardware on: June 04, 2019, 08:18:06 PM
Again, is it ALL FedEx with these issues? I've not really seen any UPS stuff flying though here for past stuff due import wise...or did I just miss such?

Anyway, seems the odds of UPS are better than FedEx at this point in time. I've like 95% UPS and have not (yet) gotten anything bill wise as an adjustment.

Wondering I was on above.

edit: heard today from a buddy that got 2 L3+ units from www.eastshore.xyz and he paid NO tariff. Just saying. FYI.
1507  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 03, 2019, 02:47:02 PM
Oh, look.
at last Elwar and Nadia hit the mainstream italian press:

https://www.corriere.it/economia/consumi/19_giugno_02/sfida-furbetta-seasteaders-prendere-residenza-mare-non-pagare-tasse-ca8024b4-850c-11e9-a4c5-122bac19b17d.shtml
(think you can google translate it)

Sadly, the ignorant italian journalist ignores herself we had in Italy one of the first Seadsters experiment in the 60's:

^^Rose Island 1968 circa.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Rose_Island
https://www.visit-rimini.com/when-italy-went-to-war-with-the-esperanto-micro-nation-insulo-de-la-rozoj/

I googled. Still says the couple is on the run. Are they still on the run? Or have they been arrested yet? Hope they got out of Thailand and all is ok.
1508  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: US Tariff Ruling N297495 = 2.6% mandatory tariff on bitcoin mining hardware on: June 03, 2019, 02:15:37 PM
I'm confused. Are they hitting you with 27.6% with tariff and import fees for Miners BEFORE the tariff went into effect? (I mean they are V9's for crying out loud).

You also, a friend told me, can dispute at $75 buck fee per instance. That may be worth trying. Good Luck.

Others on here with 'better' knowledge, chime right in. I'm just tossing this out off the cuff.

$12.43 buy at 145,000 for anyone who has there FJC Wallet Updated Already.

Just a Public Service Announcement.

1510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Siacoin Epic Monster Moon on: June 01, 2019, 04:07:55 PM
Amazing news for Sia. New network milestone on the @SiaTechHQ network: 300TB of data stored, a historical record. Over the last 40 days the usage grew a 50%

https://twitter.com/SiaStats/status/1133213228954193920

and I 'still' can't build such storage with "used' equipment and make even 1/4 of my investment back.

hardly encouraging from the point of view of their vision.

just saying....see a lot of Sia-tech ASIC equip sales and a lot of pumping up the difficulty and siacoin..the lagging part is the storage solution which seems dubious yet IMHO.
1511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 01, 2019, 04:05:28 PM
The China ranking puts bitcoin at 12 and litecoin at 33. Also it ranks EOS and Tron above ethereum which no-one in their right mind would agree with. Most would prefer LISK at number 6 on coinmarketcap rather than the China rankings

China ratings reflect the Chinese Gov't view on what is 'acceptable' crypto's. IMHO. IT means very little in real-world terms.

It is simply a misdirection tool to fund crypto into less likely threats than BTC and LTC IMHO. Sorry to say, I have LISK from the ICO.

1512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FujiCoin 3.0 | Japan | Since 2014 | BlockBid - Bleutrade - Cryptopia on: May 31, 2019, 03:51:27 AM
I tested the deposit and withdrawal on Yobit for the first time in a while, but it ran successfully.  Smiley
We will list YoBit again as a Fujicoin exchange.

https://yobit.net/en/trade/FJC/BTC

Motty can you contact other exchanges, I will even see about some listings.  I really dont want to have to rely on yobit for the safety of exchange of Fuji  Undecided

YoBit's user support is the worst, but the usability of the exchange is not bad. Although it is not suitable for beginners, there is no problem for experienced users to use.

Ok I guess I might have to bite the bullet and sign up.  I am going to contact a couple exchanges first to see if they'd be interested in cryptopia's volume by listing all of cryptopia's coins.

altilly is aiming for the success of cryptopia. How about asking on SNS? altilly still seems to be less well known, but I feel the potential.
https://www.altilly.com/
discord: https://discord.gg/4XZKWUd
telegram: https://t.me/altilly

I will go check them out.  Anywhere but yobit is needed.  No way can that be the only exchange with their continual poor service.

Anyone want to buy 1 million or more FJC for 1 Satoshi FJC Price? As listed on eBay. (Doubt I'll ever get through the 11 million sells and no buys currently on yobit) Sad

curious to see

brad

edit:

FJC has shown $0 volume since May 7th 2019...it is now May 23rd, 2019....this does not bode well. This was on Yobit. Sad

Searing you have Fuji listed on Ebay?  Cheesy. Can you link the sale url?  I have plenty otherwise I might buy some from you.  Even if there were buys on yobit I dont think I would use it.  We NEED a new decent exchange, otherwise this might not get out of a rut.  Even when alts start moving I dont see how Fuji can get out of the hole with just yobit as a means of exchange.  Undecided

unsure where the listed on eBay line came from (brain fart?) no not on eBay (went back and killed that line on the post)

but yeah, just saying no real $$$ action on yobit for any FJC and what is it like 11 million FJC in the queue for sale?

not looking too good

anyway, sorry about the eBay line..must have been a cut and paste I messed up with on another post on here

This will first step
second  step POS/POW
third  maybe MN collateral will be vote for community
next step maybe more anonymity with integration with tor
this is bright future for Fujicoin

Many POS coins are not able to follow the evolution of Bitcoin. Once Fujicoin makes major changes such as POS, it will be difficult to capture the evolution of Bitcoin in the future. Third-party applications will be upgraded as Bitcoin evolves. So there is a risk that coins that have stopped evolution will be left behind. So I have to be cautious about major specification changes.  Smiley

Only 9 Titans left on the network. Summer rates have been applied in the USA. I expect some of these will go away. (only counted MH addresses..which I assume are KNC Titans...did not count

the 3 or 4 KH addresses.

So likely something POS will have to be done soon IMHO..if wanted to or not I guess.

so anyone want to be placed on the list.

I think I will draw on tues or weds.

5  in so far for 1 free compac.  sidehack's older rarer usb stick

The catch is you had to buy a r606  from A legit seller. if you are picked.  You will need to show me proof you did buy it and of course  give me an address to ship it to.

Sent you a PM with my proof of purchase. Others?

I like this green candles. But, why?

If we knew that, and especially now (jeez...it just shot up out of the blue IMHO) we would be 'living crypto gods' and on CNBC every day!

(ah the glory) Smiley

I hope you now feel way more relaxed and happy about your retirement stash now Smiley

Yep, but 'unnerving' sometimes...being in full HODL mode on all crypto (mainly BTC)

I still 'shudder' every time Craig Wright says he can access the 'Tulip Trust" in 2020.

But then again, without 'horror' how could you tell the 'beauty' Smiley

1519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASIC Miner Hardware Still Available Any Flavor Crypto List May 2019 Onward! on: May 26, 2019, 11:43:20 PM
Blokforge is legit and they are an official Canaan hardware distributor.

You can find the list of official Canaan hardware distributors here:
https://canaan.io/official-distributors/

Ebang is another miner, that is still around, but likely not in the running either for price/vs difficulty to profit.

as usual, this may or may not be a legit site (just a quick google search) so do your research on how legit the company is and/or how legit the links on this thread!

http://miner.ebang.com.cn/

Based on my experience (half of ten E9+ units went dead),
the quality in Ebang hardware is shit.
I can't recommend their gear.

Good to know. Their site currently says 6 months I just looked.

Your the first of my extended bitcointalk group and others that has any of these beasties.

Again, good to know.

Meantime, 8,000. Boring as fuck.

8,732 now by my BTC counter. You need to get on here Lightfoot and say how bored you are, often.

I mean, really, really, often. Indeed that should be your only job from now on.

Bitcoin does not like you to be unhappy and bored it seems. Smiley
