1521  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need help - How to do signeture camping .. on: March 07, 2023, 03:49:05 PM
You don't have to learn anything about signature campaigns, it basically just entails wearing a signature/avatar and complying with specific campaign rules. What you need to work on is your contribution to the forum as that is your passport to joining a signature campaign. Without merits you can't rank up, and if you don't rank up you can't join signature campaigns, thus you need to develop your communication skills and crypto knowledge which would enable you become a helpful user and rank up in the process. Mind you that if you solely concentrate on signature campaigns from the get-go, you might end up never participating in one OR you might join bounties out of desperation/frustration.

They tried to secure a 1-0 win instead of trying to opening the goal gap more. But this time I won't expect to see the same mistake. I think they will win by a goal gap of two or three in the rematch.
Leipzig are a very dangerous team to play against, they are definitely nothing close to Manchester City, but on their own day they can be a stubborn opponent to beat. City didn't play well in the first leg, they were sloppy and didn't create too many chances to put the game to bed, the longer you leave those sort of games open at 1 nil or any close scoreline, the more the opponent grows into the game and can prolly hit an equalizer from somewhere and that was what happened on that night.

Having said that, City are expected to improve so well in this second leg game, and i think they will, but bad news for City is that Leipzig are coming into this game with something to play for, they know they have a chance, and i am pretty sure their manager has been working on the tactics to use, which i think would be to sit back and try and contain City for as long as possible, and when they have their chance, they have to take it, City have to be careful, if not they could get eliminated.
1523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 06, 2023, 06:44:43 PM
As they say, football is hard to predict. Let the Manchester United players and fans get over their heartbreak and not let the defeat demoralize them due to their points in the Premier League, they still have a good chance of finishing among the top 4 contenders.
Of course, their chances of finishing in the top four is quite strong, they even have a faint claim on the EPL title. IIRC, two weeks back some people were already calling it a three horse race, so i don't think so much has changed, though personally i don't think it is possible for Manchester United to win the EPL title this season, imo the race is between City and the Gunners.

Having said that, it was indeed a heavy defeat, and quite embarrassing, but the truth is that it was only 3 points lost, so they have to forget about that defeat and move forward, dwelling on it would just cause further losses in the future. Liverpool on the other hand are slowly coming back into the top four picture, it would be interesting to see how things pan out.
1524  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a P2P exchange? on: March 06, 2023, 01:15:45 PM
So... Bisq?
Yes but we should have more platforms like bisq instead of only relying on Bisq. The problem with the Bitcoin community is they prefer to use Binance who have complete control over your Bitcoin stored on their website.
We are not relying only on Bisq as the only peer to peer crypto exchange, Bisq is quite popular and many bitcoiners choose it as their go-to for peer to peer trading, but there are many others that are good too, and they can be found in this link: https://kycnot.me/
1525  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: BREAKING NEWS: Old naira note remain valid till Dec 31 2023 by supreme court. on: March 06, 2023, 12:17:06 PM
But I'm angry that the current government played Nigeria in this way. From the rumours I heard, I understand that this policy was targeted at Tinubu as Atiku is the person behind this lack of cash flow policy by the CBN. I heard Atiku vice was from the same region as the CBN governor and they tried to make money not available to tinubu for rigging of the election but guess their plans failed as he still successfully rigged it and has been declared the President elect.
Me i no believe this one, na true say Ifeanyi Okowa and Godwin Emefiele are both from Delta state and from the same South-South region, but which power wey Ifeanyi Okowa and Atiku get to influence the CBN governor on this policy of hardship, even if we agree say na Okowa and Atiku influence Emefiele make e do this thing, who come influence Buhari? Because as president and Commander-in- Chief, na him get the final say on matters like this, without his approval CBN cannot commence with this useless policy. But Buhari approved of the policy, and even when APC governors were pleading with him to do something, baba kept mute and only agreed to make old 200 naira note legal tender again, the whole matter they confusing sev.

Having said that, Supreme court don give their verdict, but since that day we never hear anything official from the CBN nor the presidency, even if Supreme court talk say make the old 200, 500 and 1000 naira notes become legal tender again until Dec 31, we still need the CBN to release the old notes wey them been collect, because as e be so there is little or no old notes in circulation. Naija they carry person play.
1526  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Their Involvement in dex projects valid or invalid on: March 06, 2023, 11:51:17 AM
If Yes, is it right to bring in venture capital into a decentralized crypto project? Wouldn't this make the name 'decentralized' of a project invalid?
Bitcoin is a decentralized network, and not a centralized business, company (or startup), thus venture capital is inapplicable to it. Venture capital has to do with investors funding 'novel' or precocious businesses/companies for returns and equity (ownership), this definition proves how inapplicable it is to Bitcoin, you do not fund Bitcoin, you buy it, either to hodl or to spend it, and nobody gets any form of ownership in the Bitcoin network. Notwithstanding, institutional investors buy quite a lot of Bitcoin for their personal profit and use, but in the network they are as equal as someone who owns just 0.001 Bitcoins.
Also, I have seen posts about some saying that Bitcoin is the only true decentralized project, how valid is this? Out of like, thousands of crypto projects we have in this space, how is it that only Bitcoin is fully decentralized?
DYOR, and you'd find out why!
1527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 05, 2023, 10:56:43 PM
It was like a snowball effect and I wonder what Manchester United will do after this loss as well.
They aren't going to do anything special other than preparing for the next game, there is nothing wrong with losing, especially to a big team like Liverpool, the only problem with this defeat is the heavy scoreline, it is something that is completely unacceptable from a team with as much class as Manchester United, i am pretty sure the manager gave his players a dressing down in the locker room, but all they must do now is to pick themselves up and go again.

Having said that, i would not be in a hurry this time to think that Liverpool are now at their best, the last time i thought the same thing, they went on to lose 5-2 to Real Madrid in the CL, so i'd be keeping my fingers crossed and watching how things pan out for them, they have their eyes set on the top four, and they are drawing ever closer.
1528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 05, 2023, 08:45:43 PM
Asides Laporte's deal, Manchester city is very serious about bringing in Gvardiol and that may be done by next summer. For the sake of numerous competitions the club will be facing, I will not say that Emmaneul Akanji is not enough to give what ever is required from the Central defense. It will be a bit difficult if for fatigue reasons Akanji doesn't feature in Manchester city matches next season. I think Josko Gvadiol will be of great assistance.
Well i don't think City needs to sign a new central defender, they already have Dias, Stones, Akanji, Ake and Laporte, all these five are the quality central defenders that City have, thus i don't think they need new central defenders, except they sell one or two of them in the summer. What City needs in the summer are full-backs, they are lacking especially in the left side of defense, i know Ake has been playing there for now, but that is not his original position, Gomez is another option, but not good enough to play consistently for City, while on the right side of defense they have only Walker and Lewis. Cancelo has left the club on loan to Bayern Munich and i don't know if he would return to the Etihad, or if Bayern would make the buy a permanent one. City need at least one defender on both sides (RB and LB), they are lacking in those areas.
1529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: March 05, 2023, 07:14:24 PM
I haven't seen any outstanding performances from PSG in the Champions League so far. The team is the best ever for League One. After adding Lionel Messi to the team, I did not notice any extraordinary performance.
Well i don't think anyone can outrightly say you are wrong in what you say, quite a lot of people, especially PSG fans expected more from the trio of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, but they are currently not delivering the trophy that PSG fans want, which happens to be the CL. When they were eliminated by Real Madrid last season in the RO16, so many of their fans turned against them and started booing some players during their subsequent Ligue 1 matches, all of these was done to air their displeasure at that elimination.

PSG players will have that at the back of their minds coming into this second leg game against Bayern Munich, they cannot disappoint their fans twice in a row at exactly the same stage of the competition, but the reality is that they are staring elimination in the face, they are already losing, and they are going to the home of the German champions, which isn't an easy ground to win it, i think Bayern Munich are going to progress to the QF.
1530  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginners - Keep your rooms clean, keep your backups ready to use & bring away on: March 05, 2023, 06:46:14 PM
That is somewhat of an old thread, and in that topic all the suggestions on the best way to protect your backup was provided in it, i think making a second thread out of it is redundant because all the same suggestions would be repeated here. If there was anything unique you wanted to add, you could have just bumped the topic as it is still not yet locked.
1531  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why recommend when they don't understand the risks? on: March 05, 2023, 06:04:49 PM
Why do you say, anything different from Bitcoin is pure gambling. I don't understand. Huh You mean all cryptos are gambling games except Bitcoin? It can't be true because all cryptos follow the same movements including Bitcoin, so if they are some kind of gambles, Bitcoin is also a casino game. Hence it's a little bit useless to take those precautions with altcoins, if you are not doing the same with bitcoin because you'll face exactly the same issues at the end.
I don't quite agree with you, whilst many altcoins (not all) might somewhat follow BTC's price movement, they are not similar in any other way, the only argument of altcoins being similar with Bitcoins can only be made in terms of price movements. Having said that, majority of altcoins do not have a strong network, are centralized and also pump and dump coins, thus even if Bitcoin depreciates in price and many altcoins follow suit, not all of them rise again when Bitcoin starts appreciating, so many of them die off because they have zero use cases.

These are some of the reasons why altcoins are more or less gambling, whilst Bitcoin isn't, because Bitcoin has an actual utility and a secure network, yes the price is volatile, but it cannot go extinct, neither can a flaw occur in the network that would lead to people's funds being stolen, but these can happen to most altcoins. Even if all of these are true, people should never forget the rule of thumb of investing only what they can afford to lose.
1532  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Writing down the words under same roof as my siblings on: March 05, 2023, 05:43:53 PM
Well it depends on the risk you feel you face having your seed phrase in the same house as your siblings (and you haven't really specified), if the risk is that of your siblings stealing your seed phrase and by extension, your funds, thus there is really nothing you can do than to move out of the house and leave alone before using Bitcoin and writing down your seed phrase, because if you are living with someone who you think can steal your seed phrase, then you are in danger of not only losing your Bitcoins, but quite a lot of valuable things you own.

Having said that, if the risk is of them accidentally damaging your seed phrase, then there are ways to avoid that, you can have it kept in places you keep private stuffs where only you can access, there are many other suggestions that have been provided above too, if this is the risk you face, i think it is easy to solve, but if it is the aforementioned one, then you need to find a way to stay alone or with persons you trust.
1533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In the best interest of investors, Bounties shouldn't be paid in Tokens on: March 04, 2023, 11:31:39 PM
Going forward in the best interest of investors and the project itself, hope to see "more" bounties being paid with established coins in this industry.
I'm afraid that isn't going to happen, you cannot even blame bounty participants for dumping tokens immediately they receive it, it is because most of these tokens are worthless and even the project owners know it, so to salvage a little profit, the best move is to sell as soon as you have it. Quite a lot of bounty participants don't get paid at all these days, so if you manage to get paid, you have to sell off and gain something at least, it would be quite little, but much better than not getting paid, or holding a token that is a worthless and pump and dump.

Having said that, it costs the project owners nothing to generate their shit tokens and distribute it to participants, most of them have already made their profits before distribution and there is no future for the project afterwards. If they are ever going to pay in established coins, then they must be sure they have created something unique that has an actual utility, and that is something you can't find with all these new altcoin projects.
1534  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Tinubu's plan for Blockchain and eNaira is appealing despite lacking details. on: March 04, 2023, 10:56:59 PM
The Buhari administration bin show small interest in blockchain technology when them been talk say FG go train 30,000 Nigerians on Blockchain technology, if you read this link wella you go see say them talk say training go start in December 2022, but as i no register, i no know if everything go as them talk. Abeg if any user here register for this training, make them give us feedback on the progress.

Having said that, we no go fit know from now wetin Tinubu plans concerning blockchain be, as for eNaira, that one was developed under the buhari's administration, but if Tinubu's government go help in its promotion and use around the country e go still make sense, for now person no fit predict if them really get plans for blockchain technology as them talk. Another thing be say when government (not peculiar to Nigeria alone) they talk about blockchain technology use, na mostly about CBDC development and other centralized use of the blockchain technology wey no they too favor us as bitcoiners.
1535  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to convert my money to bitcoin because of our current banking system in m on: March 03, 2023, 12:41:17 PM
I'm not aware of what's currently happening in Nigeria. However, banks rejecting you access to your money is one of the biggest motivations I'd say to finding an alternative. At least, with Bitcoin they'd never be rejected their right to their money. Obviously, paying with Bitcoin, and using Bitcoin really does depend on your local situations. Although, cities tend to offer a decent amount of services, and goods for Bitcoin. So, if you live somewhere which Bitcoin is popular in you can probably get by. Potentially, renting or mortgages would be the only limiting factors.
The CBN recently rolled out new cash/withdrawal policies, this created cash scarcity and restrictions to physical cash use, not to get into too much details but it has resulted in hardship for the people of Nigeria. Of course this is a very good reason to use Bitcoin, because with Bitcoin no institution can restrict your money: it is permissionless, but how do you spend Bitcoins in Nigeria, it is almost impossible, you can't find merchants that accept Bitcoin for payment, and if you want to convert your Bitcoin to cash through P2P, you receive your fiat in your bank account, and face the same problem over again. OP is considering converting all their money to circumvent this problem, but it doesn't solve it because they still do not have cash. What OP should is to convert a part of their money to Bitcoin and leave the rest of it in their bank for spending.
I think I'd prefer to hold my wealth in my hands, than a bank that's rejecting access to your money. If you can't withdraw your own money, then that's a red flag too me that the banks struggling or abusing it's power. You should always be able to access your own money.
We share absolutely the same view, i was only pointing it out to OP that converting all their money into Bitcoin doesn't solve the issue of available cash for spending in Nigeria. Do not forget that the only restriction here is on physical cash use, you can use mobile transfer to nearly an unlimited amount, but the banking network is usually a problem and quite a lot of merchants prefer payment with cash.
1536  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to convert my money to bitcoin because of our current banking system in m on: March 03, 2023, 12:27:12 PM
This does not solve your issue in anyway: what you lack is physical cash as it has become difficult to withdraw cash from the bank due to the recent CBN policies on the naira, thus even if you convert all your naira for Bitcoins, you still do not have physical cash, but Bitcoins in your wallet. It even becomes worse in this case because you can hardly find any merchant accepting Bitcoins for payment in the country.
I don't fully know how bitcoin works. Is it the same way with the banking system? Will I get more value or less value in future times?
Since you don't know how Bitcoin works, i'd advice you hodl your money in the bank until you understand what you are doing to avoid loss.
1537  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why recommend when they don't understand the risks? on: March 03, 2023, 12:17:02 PM
The thing is, don't tell people that any crypto (including Bitcoin) can change their lives and make them wealthy, doing so can put them into very grave risks, it is better to be open about it all by explaining to them what crypto is all about, and make sure to aptly differentiate between Bitcoin and Altcoins so whoever it is would understand that they do not function in the same way.

Having said that, there is a difference between talking about Bitcoin/crypto to people and giving them financial advice or recommending crypto to them for investment purposes, you can do the former, educating people on how Bitcoin guarantees financial freedom and other whatnots, but the latter puts you in a very precarious position should the investment go south.
1538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 03, 2023, 11:51:39 AM
Arsenal will welcome Bournemouth to the Emirates tomorrow afternoon hoping to make it four Premier League victories on the bounce. I think Arsenal are the favorite in this fixture.
Arsenal are the absolute favorites in this game without a doubt, in the EPL they have been unplayable at the Emirates this season, losing only one game, and it was to the champions City, Bournemouth are going to be up against it tomorrow, and with how they have performed this season, i don't quite think they stand any chance of causing an upset tomorrow. Arsenal might even go eight points clear at the summit of the table by the end of the weekend, City have a very tough game against Newcastle, it is a game City can lose if they are not at their best, and if ever Arsenal go 8 points above City at this stage of the season, it is safe to say they would have one hand on the trophy already.
1539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 02, 2023, 07:22:49 PM
I understand If Chelsea's authority thinks that the results will get better in the future. Because sometimes the coaches do take time to bring in good results. But I highly doubt that this coach will actually be able to bring in good results. Because he already has good players on the team. So of course he should be bringing in good results. I am certain that the fans are already quite frustrated. My personal opinion is that if they are sure about something, they should probably give him chance till the end of this season. But if the results are still not coming, he should be sacked.
I think Todd Boehly doesn't want to sack Potter yet because he believes people who blame him for getting things completely wrong by sacking Tuchel and hiring Potter even when there was no concrete reason as to why he fired Tuchel, so he just wants to let things be for now and hope that Potter gets it right, because it does not sound right that he just bought Chelsea a couple of months ago (less than a year) and he has already fired and hired two managers.

Having said that, i think sooner or later Todd Boehly would have to sack Potter because i don't think the team can move forward with him, he is the kind of coach that performs well in a small team, but cannot handle the pressure of managing a big club, Chelsea are on the verge of being eliminated from the CL and also missing out on top four, definitely if all of that happens Potter would be shown the door.
1540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 02, 2023, 02:43:47 PM
Thus, they increased their point difference with City to 5.
Now the title race can begin in earnest, both teams have played equal number of games, and Arsenal sit at the top of the summit 5 points above Manchester City, who themselves have to be very careful as Manchester United are just lurking right behind them, if City slip up again, they could find themselves in third place in the blink of an eye. 13 games to go and Arteta and his boys are pushing hard to be EPL champions, i guess everyone now believes that they were not just a fluke, but they meant business. Arsenal have a much easier game this weekend than City, another twist? Just maybe, City play Newcastle, whilst Arsenal are at home to Bournemouth and i can't see them dropping points, City are more likely to drop points this weekend.
