1561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 10, 2022, 12:57:09 PM
Well then moving forward.

Upcoming games are listed below.

1)Dallas vs Wizards +4
2)76ers vs Hawks -1
3)Charlotte vs Miami -10
4)Blazers vs Pelicans -6.5

The games that are highlighted are the games that I think would be a nice game to bet on tomorrow. I'm thinking of betting on Dallas as they are just great either at home or on the road, with Luka playing like an MVP this season, I think they'll win here and cover the spread. Also, I'm with the Blazers against Pelicans, that's ML because they are rolling.
1562  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Payed trading person to follow on: November 09, 2022, 09:59:08 PM
Hello guys,

I am looking for someone that has a group or a similar thing that allows you to pay a subscription and tells you his trading pairs...
Thank you.
You can actually do that but it also requires high fees. But to be honest, I don’t want to encourage you to do that because that will not help you in the long run. You became dependent every time you trade. And you lost actually the reason why you chose to be a trader. Just trust yourself and trust the process. You may suffer from losses at first and commit a lot of mistakes, but it’s normal for a newbie to experience like that. Everything will change and improve in the future, as long as you also learn from all your mistakes and get up every time you fall, and continue to grow as a trader. In the end, you’ll be thankful from all your losses and mistakes because of them, you are now a profitable and a successful trader.
1563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Importance of not letting others know about your crypto holdings on: November 09, 2022, 09:41:06 PM
So the lesson here is to never tell anyone exact amount you hold. You can inform just one member like your parents or wife about this so that they can recover the funds in case anything happens to you but never tell this information to casual friends or distant relatives.
Or, never tell anything at all that may involve money, trust no one. I even rarely tell my wife how much I own but she's not the persistent one so it's fine for both of us in the end. Not everyone was really happy with what they got, others get jealous or they have others intent bad behind you.
We’re there already, once money is involved, people will chose to be greedy and selfish no matter how close your friends to you. So yes, trust no one but only yourself. Although we can always share about crypto investments to our friends because that is also one way to promote crypto, but never tell them how much you are earning out from those investments because for sure, they will always do something to get it from you.
1564  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is hodling top 10 Marketcap coins a good tactic? on: November 09, 2022, 08:56:15 PM
I'm not too sure about the top 10, but would probably consider the current top 5. Bitcoin, ETH, and XRP haven't been in the top 5 for years, so I think it would be good to have all three in my portfolio.

I would probably consider some other altcoin like BNB although some would find it a joke. We can't really avoid risk even if it's just bitcoin, but maybe we can minimize the risk. So some of my choices about investment assets are clear, but it's possible the ratings will change as the industry evolves. Everything is risky including bitcoin, so being different doesn't mean you don't have the same goal especially about the return on investment.
We do share the same goal in the end, that is to make a huge ROI but that won’t happen if we never stick to the prominent coins in the market and definitely hold them for years. For me, even bitcoin alone hodling a huge amount in the portfolio is good enough, but since we can always maximize the profits by diversifying so at least I have bitcoin, ethereum, and XRP for long term hodling, that made my investments.
1565  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 5 Bear Market Mistakes to Avoid on: November 09, 2022, 08:36:32 PM
Losing money on investing is a frightening proposition. However, you can protect your money and reduce stress in a falling market by avoiding five common pitfalls made by crypto investors.

Panic
Putting in Emotional Efforts
Investing short-term
Overtrading
Mental Health

That's why it becomes "common" because those are something tough to deal with.

If that's how easy to deal with the bear market, then why still make a strategy during that trend?

It's better to absorb that mental-related stuff since that will fuel more of our experience to become used to dealing with a bear trend. Without the experience of being in an actual loss, stress, panic, FOMO, being weak hands, a trader can't be an improved trader in the future.
These five pitfalls are just easy to say to avoid but definitely they’re inevitable once we enter trading and investing. So expect that if you can’t beat and avoid them, you’ll experience a roller coaster ride in the crypto market but i’d say in the end, these things are still worth to experience not only to hone your skills and strategies, but definitely for a better version of you.
1566  Other / Archival / Re: I don't want to buy cheap bitcoins, I want to buy expensive ones on: November 08, 2022, 09:59:47 PM
This serves as an example of what is actually taking place in the bitcoin market. I still clearly recall how many people I know were extremely disappointed that they hadn't purchased any bitcoin when it reached a high of $69K. However, now is the perfect time to do so, even though they believe it will still drop below this level before they do so. Purchasing gradually while the market is currently bearish would only result in greater profits, no matter how small, as opposed to missing the chance to purchase anything at all now.
But that’s not how the newbies in the crypto market think. They always believe that bitcoin is a good stuff to buy when it’s price is surging, believing that it will skyrocket again and give them their expected profits. But in real life, things are happening the opposite way. Instead of seeing more of a pump, bitcoin price suddenly drops its price after reaching its peak, and then they start panic selling and losing. If they will stick to what they believe, these newbies will never gain good ROI regardless of how often they lose in the market.
1567  Economy / Speculation / Re: How fast will Bitcoin fall down? on: November 08, 2022, 09:07:05 PM
How reliable is Bitcoin, what will it be if someone will generate a new blockchain or another digital currency, will it make bitcoin fall down, and how fast?
Many people have already done so. That's very easy. Currently, there are many other cryptocurrencies (called altcoin), but none of them have been able to compete with bitcoin.
None of the altcoins have been able to provide the security and the decentralization bitcoin gives us.
Just go to coinmarketcap.com and see how many coins/tokens have been already created.
A lot of new cryptocurrencies have tried to beat bitcoin but they have never succeeded on that. Bitcoin is still the most prominent asset in the market. And even if these new altcoins continue to arise in the crypto market, as long as they are good for short term investment only since most of them are motivated with hype and greed, then they can never make bitcoin fall and replace its position.
1568  Economy / Economics / Re: Always ask bargain for prices never pay full specially now on: November 08, 2022, 08:45:54 PM
I don't see the logic in this one.

If everyone is already having a hard time financially, why would the merchants even accept your plea of bargaining anyway? This might even put their business in peril and may even affect their funds for their business. It just isn't making any logic at all to bargain when everything is turning to shit. You can always try, but do not expect that people will be so welcoming of how you try to bargain when they themselves aren't doing well enough even if they are supplying the goods.
When everyone is experiencing the same situation and struggling to survive, I guess asking for a bargain price will not be reasonable anymore. Although everyone has the freedom to ask, but never expect that it will be granted as much as you like. Business will always aim to prosper and grow, but if you always insist to bargain their prices, then how they can make profits out from their business? With the high rising inflation we have right now, everyone is affected so we should also be considerate too.
1569  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie how can i invest in Bitcoin on: November 07, 2022, 09:58:52 PM
Though am a beginner and I found this forum interested, and I believe that it's the best platform for me,and I still don't understand the modes of operations and ethics and kind of investment on this platform.

I relay on your advice and explanation to have great hope and the mind to continue and to also inform others about this, just as I was told by a friend.

1570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: investment in bitcoin should be short term or long term. on: November 07, 2022, 09:39:06 PM
i am a newbie in bitcoin, and i plan to buy bitcoin,, and will invest in bitcoin, and i want to ask everyone? if investing in bitcoin is it better short term or long term??? but in my opinion, long-term investment is better, but what do you think?
If you can buy Bitcoin in current state then I would say it must be a long term investment. Bitcoin's next halving will be in 2024, and Bitcoin is expected to reach between $100k and $200k there. However, we have seen the highest limit for Bitcoin at $69k Considering this aspect, you must make long-term investment. So those willing to invest in Bitcoin right now should buy Bitcoin and hold it for the long term.
Well, bitcoin is still in a low price right now so definitely a good time to buy. And the fact that bitcoin is prone to price volatility, then set your bitcoin investment for long term. And if we can hold it for a year or two, much better since bitcoin halving is fast approaching. And when that happens, we will gain huge ROI especially if we start buying bitcoin at its bottom price.
1571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: November 05, 2022, 01:13:58 PM

No need to worry as PBA commissioner will always be there to save refs ass. If there's any investigation, I'm pretty sure it will be quick to forget, Com. Marcial can't do anything against MVP's group of company, we know that right?

They will not do anything if the order is coming from them to rig the game. PBA is known to be a rigged basketball league so it's not surprising to see a ref trying to favor a certain team to win, whether it's Pangilinan or Cojuangco's team, it doesn't matter as long as the order is coming from above.
Money will always speak and there is too much politics with PBA, I'm just wondering if those big companies will really fight just because of the miss calls with the referees, I'm sure they also have a deal in private, after all they are all business men who knows how to deal with this kind of situation.

It's just sad to see the wrong calls and the effort of the players are being wasted. Well, what we can expect for PBA though they can suspend that referee but I'm sure they will not do anything to address this issues, they will just ignore it.

Suspending the ref will be their sole action, and it's not a big problem as they can always find a replacement, and the league will continue running with a ruined reputation. Well, we are still watching PBA games, so despite their reputation, we still love to watch PBA games.  Grin

Forget about the Irving controversy.

let's talk about the games last night, Warriors again lose their game, they are in a cold streak now and I don't know when it will stop. It seems like their struggle is really serious because most of the losses are not even close. By the way, Jazz bounce back again by beating the Lakers, and Blazers upset the Suns at home, that's without their best player Lillard.

1574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 04, 2022, 04:59:13 PM
Bivol should get and win this fight. Canelo said that he doesn't want to fight another Mexican. While Bivol says that he is ok even not fighting Alvarez next and would rather settle for a unification fight rather than chase Canelo Alvarez.

Well, it shows that Bivol have the higher hand over Ramirez but that's easier said than done because it is still a tough challenge to overcome and defeat the latter as he will surely do anything too just to get a win. Both fighters are hungry and that makes the fight more interesting, so, let's just take Canelo out of the picture for now because it's not yet sure that he will activate the rematch and this fight is all about Ramirez and Bivol.
1575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: November 04, 2022, 04:38:58 PM
Still though, if he wanted to cement his legacy in this division, he has to beat Zurdo Ramirez. And then chase for unification against another Russian in Beterviev. He has not to worry for Canelo. If Alvarez wants to go up at 175 lbs then it's better for him to have tune up and maybe fight the winner of Bivol vs Beterviev in the future.

Maybe we won't see another fight against Canelo because Bivol don't need to prove anything anymore because he won their last fight cleanly. He just need to move forward and fight someone like Beterviev to further stretch his rank in their division and might get a chance to be a unified champion in their weight division.
True, and if I'm not mistaken, several months ago it was reported that Bivol hasn't received his prize money against Canelo because of the ban of Russian boxers that time, so not sure if he has gotten it already at this time.

Nevertheless, as i have said, he might go with Beterviev next if he will win against Ramirez. Not sure how Canelo will be insisted on another rematch but it's really up to Bivol whether to give him the fight or not.

Yes, if ever Bivol wins his upcoming fight, most probably he will be the one that will choose whoever he wanted to fight. Even Canelo insists for the rematch, Bivol has his rights to decline any offer. For now, Bivol needs to focus with Zurdo and make sure that he will take good care of his fight. It's good to know if ever Bivol will push for Beterbiev that's another good title match that fans will surely excited to see.

Can Bivol really do that and decline Canelo if the latter will decide to activate their rematch after this fight? Given that Bivol have already won the fight against this Zurdo Ramirez. I don't know that it's possible because they had a rematch clause written in their contract and Bivol will be vacated for a bit because Beterbiev and Yarde's fight was delayed.

I guess not. Bivol might have to a fight with Canelo if the latter will choose to, given that Bivol will now be in the A-side and his demands should be fulfilled because Canelo is now chasing Bivol and not the other way around. Also, yes, Bivol have no schedules for the time being after this fight (given that he won the fight vs Ramirez) because he have to wait and see who will be the winner of the Beterbiev-Yarde fight.
1576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: November 04, 2022, 04:12:50 PM

It will be an interesting fight if Casimero will bring his entertaining skills. I mean, he loves the attention he must win the crowd here.

He really need to make a comeback win with this one and give the audiences the fight they really wanted to see from him. If his skills are still there, the fans all around the world will demand to see him fighting Inoue next. When their managers see the demand of that fight, they will gonna negotiate and make it come true.

Skills-wise, many will agree with me that Casimero has the edge on this department and I think he would work hard on his training regimen because that would be the only way that he can be sure to beat Akaho, I mean skills are nothing if the hard work is not there, it should work side by side.

For me, Casimero is a marketable fighter because of his antics and he doesn't need to be associated with Inoue at this point in his career because that money fight will come if he will focus on his goal which is to be back on his winning ways.

I definitely agree with you on that, Casimero has an edge over Akaho, but he shouldn't be slacking because of that as he still need to finish this fight with a good outcome to send a message in this division. He needed to work his way again through the ranks just like what he did in bantamweight division and Inoue fight could be interesting but that is not he needed now. There will be a time for that.

Yes, no doubt about that. Casimero clearly have the upper hand compared to this Ryo Akaho who's not that known and doesn't have any impressive figures in his rapsheet. I mean, even the users in this forum are siding and voting in Casimero's favor, and that is not so surprising at all. What I want to see is how would Casimero finish this fight because surely, just like what you have said, Casimero needs to send a message.
1577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: November 04, 2022, 03:36:09 PM
There's nothing wrong on betting for Butler to win, it's just like you are betting in a lottery, and who knows, this is boxing, anyone can win and upset does happen sometimes. Butler is also a champion, unfortunately people see him as inferior than Inoue, so bookies are just doing their job.

True, but boxing somehow works different from lottery.  If Butler can withstand Inoue's punches and is able to not only survive the entire fight but be able to outbox Inoue every round and happen to win, those who bet for him will definitely get huge wins.  Besides Butler having known that Inoue is better, he will definitely train hard to at least mend his shortcomings.

Somehow different but either way it's just like you're betting in a lottery and as long as Inoue is not yet announced as the winner then Paul Butler still do have a chance. It might take a one lucky punch or miracle but a chance is a chance, no matter how slim it is. We never know mate because Butler here may write a history who pulls the biggest upset in the boxing history.
1578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 04, 2022, 02:38:23 PM
Exactly, it might not be a big deal for the other people because they are not the ones who are playing for the franchise but for them, it is as they needed a boost as well, just like what you've said. Now that they got what they wanted, let's see if that boost restored their morale and is already enough to beat the NOP next game. Darvin Ham might've got an idea because of that win they've got.

Any win for LA Lakers right now is a cause for celebration. With how bad they started this season and how disarrayed their roster is, they should be happy they have won against Nuggets. Maybe it was pure luck or they have finally found something that clicks in their roster, we will know that in the next few games if they continue winning. And we need a tougher team than NOP to prove that they have found their formula for winning. Maybe a win against Bucks or Celtics will cement that.

Well, they seem got a hold of it because they manage to defeat the New Orleans Pelicans earlier today. It was a crazy game but it's undeniable that the Lakers is quite different now and Westbrook already got used to his role as he keeps on laying the table for his teammate to score. Pelicans was shocked as the gaps of their score becomes wider as the first half finished, they managed to chase the Lakers in the 2nd half but Lakers was so determined to put a win today.

I guess you can say that because the Lakers have indeed improved as they are now playing wholly as a team and not relying on their superstars alone, we saw it recently that LeBron and Davis didn't carry much load as they gave some chance to their comrades to contribute too, and it turns out positively.
1579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: November 04, 2022, 12:11:22 PM
We don't really know what's real or not these days because of these collabs of YouTubers, we cannot even tell if they're telling the truth or not or if it's scripted. That's why in this fight, I don't have any high hopes that Pacquiao will show DK Yoo what boxing is because this is just an exhibition fight and in the end of the day, both of them will smiling because they garnered Millions again, but this time is okay because the proceeds will go for the charity.

I think a lot of people expect DK Yoo to be (or to become) same YouTube celebrity as Jake Paul, as they both are connected with combat sport. Maybe the whole idea of this fight is to create "their own Jake Paul". Perhaps they might succeed in it. But success will be concentrated mostly on Asian territory. I think for majority, the name Manny Pacquiao is well known, even to those who are far from boxing. But the name DK Yoo is an empty sound. Before googling, I did not even know about him. I understand that the goal of this boxing fight is charity, and to make boxing more popular. But I doubt that they will have a huge progress in it.
Jake Paul in Asia, well, I like that, but he will be different from Jake Paul because DK Yoo will never be undefeated, if this is his first fight, then most likely he will lose as Manny Pacman will not allow to lose despite it's just an exhibition fight. Both have their goal, so it's hard to believe DK Yoo will win.
1580  Economy / Economics / Re: Can One Get Rich or At least Not go Broke During a Recession? on: November 03, 2022, 09:36:51 PM
Recession is coming and we know it. In some places it is staring us right in the face. Unemployment, rising cost of living, increasing food prices, falling stocks etc are some of the negative effects associated with recession. Despite this seemingly bad news, Warren Buffet said “In short, bad news is an investor’s best friend”. And another quote by someone goes thus "millionaires are made during a recession". I have been recently laid-off work due to the recent economic crisis in my country. I do not want to see this as a bad thing. So I ask what hidden opportunities does this recession offer? How can one take opportunity of the recession to become rich or at least not go broke?

The fact you said that you just recently got laid off, you could face problems with your regular day-to-day expenditure like utilities and essentials just like what the others have said here. If you could find a way to solve that dilemma, and at the same time have enough to invest on assets that are not affected by recession, you are indeed safe. Thing is the statement made by Warren Buffet exclusively works for people who could afford to invest on something. If you couldn't you're in deep crap.
OP must be very down these days having the fact that being laid off from work will eventually make it hard for him to pay all his bills and buy all his necessities. However, if he had save some funds when his work is still good, then he may be able to start investing in crypto as that would make him profitable in time. But if he has no longer enough penny to invest, then it will be a very sad reality that he might get financially broken and experience worst in life.
