1581  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it important to have a niche in this forum or not on: November 03, 2022, 09:13:41 PM
I don't think you should force yourself to do either.

If you're more comfortable focusing on one thing for a while then you should do that, if not it'll be useless.

If you're a newbie here I think trying to get a broad sense of everything is a good start. If you're focusing on one thing you'll have to keep going from widening your content exposure to reducing it (repeatedly) and I don't think that's a good way to start unless you don't know how to find other things or only have one specific interest at the time you started here.

If you're interested in crypto you'll do much better being interested in that on here than you will be by having interest in the forum (a lot of users a skeptical of newer users who try to police the forum too as soon as they arrive via reputation topics and trust).
It will be best if a newbie starts to familiarize everything in the market first before he goes specific and chose his own specialization. That way, he will be knowledgeable in all areas in the crypto market as that would be his edge so he can be successful later on. And eventually, he may find and settle on his own niche as time goes by. Because I believe at the end of the day, any newbie will discover his strengths and weaknesses in time that will push him to do his best and excel on his own chosen niche.
1582  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC, more closer bullish days ahead. on: November 03, 2022, 08:26:49 PM
Funny how the sentiment of the first 2 responses of this thread are polar opposites, and I assume the following responses from other people are mostly going to be mixed opinions as well. It just shows that no one really knows for sure what's going to happen.
No one is really capable to tell what lies in the future regardless if it’s about bitcoin or not. As long as the market remains unpredictable, then we can always just tell from wild guesses and speculations. However, if we follow bitcoin’s history, the last quarter of the year is supposed to be bullish days, but maybe it won’t be happening  soon. So we just have to wait until bitcoin halving comes and finally witness a bullish season eventually.
1583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: November 03, 2022, 11:31:18 AM
..... but If someone is willing to risk their money here, the winning reward is really great here than what you put on the line. The odds for Paul is really really tempting for the bettors, but then again you are gambling with the lowest chance and more likely to just donate your money lol.

Only crazy bettors would risk their money betting on Butler, or those who are rich enough to waste their money, LOL.. Kidding aside, the probability of winning for Inoue is very high, and Inoue is still in his prime so can't bet against him, he is the man and he is gonna make a history of his own.
I agree with you . Those who bet on Butler are either greedy for high returns or they don't understand boxing very enough .However, there are many exceptions in the game, so there is no 100% guarantee that Paul will win. But his chances of winning are very high.  And those who watch his fighting will definitely back Paul and not decide to bet against Paul. I myself like Paul's fighting a lot
There's nothing wrong on betting for Butler to win, it's just like you are betting in a lottery, and who knows, this is boxing, anyone can win and upset does happen sometimes. Butler is also a champion, unfortunately people see him as inferior than Inoue, so bookies are just doing their job.
1584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 03, 2022, 10:59:15 AM
LA Lakers escaped from another loss, good thing they have Ryan who forced an OT and the Lakers then too over in the OT. 2 wins in a row, now bad, but hopefully they'll be more consistent and dominant so we will not feel nervous while watching the game.

Westbrook now is playing limited minutes but he had some good contribution, I think that's good for the team.

Lakers indeed escaped another L. I posted way too early a few hours ago after Walker missed the wide 3 pointer to tie the game with 1.3 secs left on the game clock. To my disappointment, I turned off the stream before the Pelicans took 2 missed free throws lol. Did not know Ryan saves the game for the Lakers.
However, I'm still not comfortable with how things work for the Lakers currently. Thought they've played good defense.
They still need to play strong in the 2nd half. I hope this could give them a good start.

Yeah, and the pass by Reeves as well to Ryan in the corner for a great 3 to tie the game. And as we have said, they need to have great shooters outside and in this game it proved that this shooters can save the game for them.

Of course this is a great escape for them, leaving by double digits and it seems that they are going to choke and they almost did if not for the Ryan shooting that 3 with confidence.

They need to be consistent from the start to the end, they cannot win games like they did, let's just say it was just a lucky shot. Pelicans is a good team, so I would say it's a great win for the Lakers, imagine, they beat Nuggets and Pelicans, they are both playoff teams, shocks.
1585  Economy / Economics / Re: 5 things you should not do with your money to get rich on: November 02, 2022, 09:42:20 PM
sometimes what we don't realize is that we buy goods not based on needs but desires, so there will be a lot of additional expenses that are not really needed. sometimes we find it difficult to control it because of wrong thinking without any control. The need for cigarettes in a month is indeed quite large, if we can control it then cigarette money can be more useful at least we can invest from that part, and it will be useful in the future
This happens due to the prestige that has surrounded us and this is one of the characteristics of humans that is actually difficult to change because we are always trying to appear better and more prominent than others.
Even though it's not all like that but things like this still happen for most people, it's definitely experienced this.
I personally try to buy something based on function not based on prestige because this indirectly can also train us to be able to manage finances.
I know this one is hard to avoid and even becomes unstoppable for others but if you are thinking for its long term effects, you will only suffer from having wrong management of funds that will put you on being financially broken. So if you can manage to refrain from doing it, do it now because that will only be the best way so you can manage your finances and save a good amount in the future. No need to focus on your wants and other prestiges in life, live life on its purpose and just stick to your own needs.
1586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would this Lead to the Mass Adoption of Bitcoin? on: November 02, 2022, 08:59:56 PM
Mass adoption should be because the government agreed to use bitcoin as a legal tender. But if twitter accepts bitcoin payments because of Elon Musk, then it's not the mass adoption I was hoping for. Some other platforms also accept bitcoin as a currency or means of payment, previously I thought it would increase the use case of bitcoin as a currency.

Bitcoin is just an option for people if Elon Musk actually accepts the proposal on his platform. So there are certainly positives about bitcoin if Elon really wants to do it, but I don't expect it to be his second joke soon after Tesla.
Elon Musk never fail to influence other people but even if twitter will start accepting bitcoin, only tweeter will benefit from it and not the whole world. So it’s still not mass adoption to be certain. But it will pave way for a good understanding about bitcoin and eventually people will realize how valuable it is, that they will be eager to start accumulating bitcoin and use it for investments and for currency purposes too. Also, when twitter adopted bitcoin, then it won’t be long other sectors too will follow it and accept bitcoin payment maybe months or year from now.
1587  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A newbie with 100$ on: November 02, 2022, 07:59:09 PM
In this bear market, does 100$ on Ethereum or Bitcoin make any difference? As a newbie who have only 100$ to risk is this even enough? Can this get me anywhere?
There’s always a difference if you start investing it a bearish market and hold them for years for big profits in the future. Though you can’t expect fast profits, but you know you will surely reap good results in the future as long as you have invested and hold bitcoin and ethereum. That is faith, regardless how small your capital is, you know it will always make a big difference when your investments start working.
1588  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull or bear November? on: November 01, 2022, 09:56:07 PM
But let us continue our monthly fun. Would the price of bitcoin increase or decrease in November?

It's probably around this levels as well, $20k-$25k give or take. The thing is that we are about to hit the last 2 months and specially in December we had some runs before Christmas so I think we might hit as high as $25k.

So in November, it could be around $22k-$23k the most, unless there is another news that will put the market again. Yes, the war is still in the background, but if the US has some good news about their economy and their monthly CPI, then maybe it will have a positive effect on the market this month.
Everything that will bring good news and positivity on the market will always make the market look more bullish. Although the bear market is still here, but everything can shift from bearish to bullish if there will be more positive news and trends this month that will make the crypto market totally benefit from it. Otherwise, the bear market will stay for good this year and might even affect the next year possible.
1589  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you like commission job or salary base job? on: November 01, 2022, 09:22:34 PM
I have been on both sides so I have a fair share of experience. I do prefer a job that pays me on commission basis to a job where I have to wait till the end of the month to get paid as it is in my region. My reasons are that first I am a very ambitious person and working commission jobs is like working for myself therefore the harder I work the higher my pay. Secondly, since the pay isn't fixed I will be forced to embark on personal development trainings to improve my skills set since I am my own boss. Thirdly, in my opinion with good planning and discipline, this is the fastest route to getting clients, contacts and starting you own company.
Surely if you have the skills and capabilities like that, you will never settle in a salary based job but always chose for commission job to gain unlimited profits. However, for those who are comfortable having their stable job without going out from their comfort zone, salary based job will be better as it’s always safe and secured that you will receive a fixed amount every payday. For me, if I can have them both, that will be much better and will be give me huge profits at the end of the day.
1590  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - How high can it go? on: October 31, 2022, 09:59:24 PM
I am just debating if I should continue to DCA into Bitcoin or sell all and put into stronger altcoins which will see better ROI over the next few years.
If you have funds to spare for doing so then just go and also if you have trust btc all the way. But saying that you are holding for 10yrs or more then go for it. Just dont expect a lot of what figure it could be cause no one could really know if btc will be a great investment but one thing is for sure. 10 yrs from now the people who dont uses btc are probably stepping up on using it.
Right. Never think of what will be the future price of bitcoin as history proves that bitcoin never fail us in the long run. Hodling long term needs a lot of patience and I think that’s what we need to overcome first if we can be highly patient whenever the market turns sideways and very unstable, which means bitcoin price will definitely drop again and ends in a low price. But if you believe in bitcoin, never hesitate about it as it will always recover in every price drop and still ends with a profitable price.

OP, you can shorten your post to this quote.

Quote
The forum, is just like every other online forum or group, and all one is needed to do is just to discuss and share ideas, ask necessary question, answer questions, help solve a problem and in general be ready to unlearn, learn and relearn.

Do not think that the longer the post, the more it will be recognized. Starting to read your long text, not reading to the end, you can understand what you are getting at. Therefore, you notice that experienced people do not create huge tests that do not carry anything new, nevertheless, they surprise beginners with their merits. Most people just don't read long posts.
Be short and concise. Smiley
Just go straight and direct to the point. After all, we don’t make good and quality posts just to earn merits, but most likely to discuss something and gives a clear idea about it so that others will also learn and benefit from it. Yes, the longer the post the more errors you make, so prefer short but precise so that the readers will easily get the point.
1592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: October 29, 2022, 04:29:03 PM
Right now, the people are divided because Jake and Silva made a bet in their press-conference saying that if Silva wins, there will be a second bout in a kickboxing fight and if Jake wins, he and Silva will start an association dedicated to help the MMA fighters who are receiving a much lower rate from Dana.

Is that so? Well, that changes some things because now, we cannot really say that these boxers/fighters had a pact because of their said agreement. Jake Paul is so vocal and is targeting Dana about the MMA fighters that are getting underpaid considering the risks they have to go just to have a fight, we all know that most of these fighters are still struggling to give their families a much comfortable life if they are just fighting once a year. It's such a good cause from a man that is hated for fighting washed-out fighters.
1593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons Why We Prefer Online Casinos to Land-based Casinos on: October 29, 2022, 03:41:41 PM
Another premium reason why most people prefer online casinos to land casinos Is what I will call "Referral bonus", as this is one feature online casinos have that land don't, whereby you get paid a commission whenever the person you referred to a casino deposit funds and plays a game, whether he or she wins or not, which has been an additional source of income to many who grabbed into this oppotunity promoting a casino, as they can use this extra funds can be use to either gamble or withdraw for use

That's true but I don't think that is one of the few main reasons why people choose online casinos over land-based casinos, I mean, they don't really care that much about the referral bonus because most people who gambles in casino can afford whether they have referral bonus or not. Best feature that an online casino can give is privacy and space, least is the fact that you can play whenever and wherever you like without travelling to such places just to gamble.
1594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 29, 2022, 02:50:44 PM
I'm curious as for those who are impressed by a favorite celebrity, who is it and why is it impressive to you?  When it comes to gambling I'll never be impressed or swooned by any celebrities, and I'd like to think this is probably the case for most everything across the board, but I'm guessing if I thought hard enough I could find some sort of product where a celebrity has impressed me enough to give it a try.
Differentiating products to services then there might really be some recognition whether it would be worth for you to deal with or simply skip out. When we do talk about gambling then it would be entirely

not that sensible nor worth on following or idolizing someone on what they are doing.Of course you would really get amazed on how they do bet and how they do won. This is where it do triggers out that kind of

interest or boost up on emotions that you would really be doing gambling too. This is why its really that important that you do really have that self awareness in towards
on whats happening around you.
there are crazy fans too and there are followers too. It all depends on the mindset of the fan.
I don't follow celebrities blindly - sometime I do admire them but at the end of the day when they are back home they too like to wear the loose trousers and relax like all of us want to.

In other words, they are all a human being just like us, their social status in life doesn't mean that they will get the right path most of the times because they are also vulnerable as they are just a humans. If I were going to follow somebody, that would be the secret millionaires who worked hard to get what they have but that is a challenge because most of these millionaires aren't making such noises in any social platform as for them it'll be just a waste of time. As far as bets are concerned, I prefer to work on my own analysis and gather the data on my own.
1595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 29, 2022, 02:21:07 PM
Current standing of the Los Angeles Lakers is 0-4 which is indeed a very chaotic and frustrating start for the franchise this season, their next game is against the Timberwolves and I bet their standing will turn to 0-5 because AD is still questionable to return in that said game while Westbrook is also probable because of his Hamstring Injury.

It looks to me that Westbrook's situation has gotten worse and I think there would be no team in the league right now who will accept Westbrook if in case the Lakers will choose to trade him. I guess it's just too late.
There's a chance that Lakers might get their 5th loss from Timberwolves. I guess that they should figure it out on which part of their losses they have to learn.

Everything, hehehe, and yeah, they could go 0-5 against the Timberwolves.

They are a huge underdog at 3.xx ML. Might be tempting for some bettors.

Looking at the standings, for Utah Jazz, they're always like this during the early games up to the playoffs but can't manage to land in the finals. Hopefully by this season, we may see some teams like them going to the finals.

But it's a different team now, they have almost disbanded the team that always fell short in the playoff. And it seems that it rejuvenated the team itself. But it's too early to say how they will fare in this season. They could pull a surprised and make the playoff.

Just what we expected, the Lakers have the lost the game versus the Timberwolves, now they're 0-5. What a start in LeBron James 20th year, it feels like when he's still in his rookie season because he also got the same record at the start of the season. I've expected that they can't make it because AD can't play as he is having some soreness.

The season have just started and it's still to early too say that the Jazz will make it to the playoffs. Don't take it wrong because I don't have any doubts on them but in most cases, there are some teams who are just too good right at the start of the new season.
1596  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market likely over? on: October 28, 2022, 05:39:28 PM
As much as investors would want this to be true, unfortunately it is not. Bear market is very much available until btc halving i guess.
This 5% - 10% up is not an indication of a bull market, but some people get their hopes high seeing this type of occasional pump. I think traders have been rewarded these few days.
We will only consider that this will be the start of a bullish market once we start seeing 20% consistent price increase in all coins, but that is not happening as of today so most likely this is just another regular pump that will also dump later on. And as long as the bear market is here to stay, we won’t be able to see significant prices for bitcoin and altcoins.
1597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: October 28, 2022, 05:12:43 PM
Im really lose in this season, i didnt follow so much the preseason and the transfer-market so i have to start to follow and see a few matches to know something.

Brookling keep being shit?. A stars team but not a real team. What a disgrace for Nets fans.

Boston solid as fuck, and Portland the surprise?.

Brooklyn Nets actually looks pretty solid too me rn, but they just still out of sync, they made good plays last night but their just shots just would not fall into the basket, they stood a pretty decent chance to win the game last night, but it was all down to their very poor FGM% and some little details, once they get that sorted, they should surely be the real deal.

That being said I'm still going to fade on them tonight and back the Mavericks, but I'll only be settling for the ML

The Brooklyn Nets is still a threat in this league, it's just that the other teams now are taking advantage of the Nets situation while they are still chaotic and out of synch. They just needed someone else to step up their game to help their superstars in carrying the team because it is evident that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving can't do the task alone. There's nothing to worry about as of now because the season have just started, the real deal is about to happen in the next few weeks.

Right now, I'm leaning towards the Milwaukee Bucks -6.0 @ 1.91 to have their 4th win-streak versus the New York Knicks.
1598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons Why We Prefer Online Casinos to Land-based Casinos on: October 28, 2022, 04:33:22 PM
For me it all depends on what games I'm playing.  Some games are just simply more fun playing in person regardless of all other things being considered.

But the main reason I prefer online casinos is the simple fact that I don't like people, as well as at least here in the United States, most all Casinos allow for smoking, which is something that has been essentially banned countrywide while inside a public place, except for casinos (and a few other exceptions).

And it also depends on the people, however, it's true that there's a lot of advantages in playing online casinos especially if you're the type of person who just wanted to be alone and secluded, but if you're that type who want to mingle and talk with other bettors while getting some entertainment then land-based casinos will be fit for you. Nonetheless, I still can't understand too why smoking is still allowed in some casinos mainly in the US.
1599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 28, 2022, 03:03:05 PM
While the Lakers continue to struggle and I guess this could go on to 0-10 as they all have a tougher opponent in thier first 10 games lol.

I bet on the Lakers today thinking they are gonna play hard, but it's still the same, this team has no hope, with or without Westbrook they still continue to struggle. I think Lebron is not anymore the king because he cannot anymore carry his team.  Grin

Yeah, and I thought that same, they have reported that Westbrook will not play, so we assumed that something different is going to happen. But nothing, just the usual Lakers who just didn't have what it takes to have a win. Although their opponent is a tough team, but still at least they should make it close.

Another huge game by Giannis to lead the Bucks against the struggling Nets team. 43 points for him and 14 rebounds.
Bobby Portis also had a double double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. And obviously, its KD and Kyrie who carry the Nets but it's not enough.

The nets also are the same team, they can't finish the game with a win, also, I notice about Durant's Shooting, he is not as good as During his prime, probably because he was really affected by his previous injury. Durant scored 33 points but he was -17, which means his impact does not help the team much. Also, the Nets lose their aggressiveness in grabbing the ball as they are outrebounded by the Bucks. 54-37, big difference.

They are much dominated by Bucks that's why maybe there's an effect on mental toughness especially with Simmons so they really need to figure out the problem because looking at their rooster they already have solid rooster already its just they need to make this work together and they need chemistry also with consistency.

I almost forgot, yeah, Simmons is considered a star player as he was traded for James Harden, but look at his performance, he was even worse that Russell Westbrook of the LA Lakers. Simmons played 34 points but only made 4 points, I get that he had 9 assists but the Nets really needs to spread their offense, and not rely on Durant and Irving only.

What they need is another wing man to do some of the offensive jobs, they need someone who can help Irving and Durant carry the load to get the team a win, Seth Curry can help but he is not that yet reliable and consistent. And for Simmons? We cannot really expect him to help contribute some scores for the team because it is simply not his forte, he is more suitable in setting the table for his teammate can shoot easily and to create diversions.
1600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 28, 2022, 12:51:59 PM
Converge vs TNT is over and I am surprise how converge manage their lead and also from the 2nd quarter to 3rd quarter they are leading with 20 to 30 points which is pretty good with the team and in 4rth quarter I thought TNT will gonna getting closer but converge still manage and end the game with 130 points which is 13 points lead against TNT got only 117 points.
Didn’t expect this to be a high scoring game honestly, I’m surprise as well on how Converge manage to have that lead against TNT. Converge is indeed one of the contender for this conference. Being on the top 3 spot can already give a good assurance to proceed on the next round, I like how this team work their plays.

That's because of their import, Miller is probably the best import IMO, and that's making their locals to be confident as well. Being the number 3 in the standing and had won 3 consecutive games already, I think their chances in the playoffs is quite legit. This is the type of import that could carry a team.
