1681  Economy / Economics / Re: Could Bitcoin one day become the global reserve currency? on: March 18, 2023, 03:10:39 PM
I think these three problems may not be solved and these three problems may prevent bitcoin from being a reserve currency.

What do you think about the subject? Can you share some enlightening information for me?
Sincerely, I don't see Bitcoin becoming a global currency. How can that even be possible when there are so many hiccups and hurdles against it. There are poor nations that are still grasping with electricity challenges till date, include internet issues with it too. Even in years to come, these nations are not likely to have these basic amenities. We can't use Bitcoin without those two – electricity and the internet.

Come to think of it, despite how popular and influential the British Pounds is it's still not a global currency.
1682  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Knowledge Of Bitcoin Is Better Than Speculating on: March 18, 2023, 02:20:57 PM
And because of the rate at which the prices of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies increase or decrease in a particular time, it is better not to regard them as investment.
Are you for real? So, what's investment from your perspective? A thing that doesn't increase or decrease in price and value? Well, I don't know what you intended to drive at with that narrative of yours. Bitcoin, just like stocks and other forms of investments, are subject to increase and decrease.

Kindly suggest some other valuable skills one can acquire by learning about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies?
I suggest you get books dealing on two things – Technical and Fundamental Analysis. Read them to understand the basic set skills if you intend to trade them and half of the confusion around price speculation would've been taken care of.
1683  Economy / Economics / Re: Is risky to invest this period on: March 18, 2023, 10:03:34 AM
From the look of things bitcoin price will not come up soon, I guess is better to hold on till when it will show strong signal before putting in money again to escape losses and people who their investment is long over due are already victims of the Price dropping.
If you keep thinking this way, it's most likely you aren't going to ever invest in Bitcoin. Outside Bitcoin, you should know that business is all about risk. Show me a business without risk and I will show you one that doesn't make you money. You talked about waiting for a short signal before buying. When and what presents itself as the "right" signal? Is there ever a right time to buy Bitcoin other than now? Whatever skepticism anyone has about entry price for Bitcoin, they should remember that we're heading into a new ATH for Bitcoin and should shake themselves out of their sluggishness and buy it.

1685  Other / Meta / Re: Should the forum stop advertising mixers? on: March 17, 2023, 05:30:57 AM
Should forum admin consider to stop all campaigns related to mixers?
What about casinos? If we want to toe that line of thought because we also get that accusation of money laundering from that angle too.

I know forum is against porn campaigns so how about mixers after this fiasco?
Well, I ain't sure that's the way it's. Look at a fresh [Bounty]👑PornAl bounty camping 👑 already staring us in the face.
1686  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor and Rich on: March 14, 2023, 06:52:39 PM
I always wondering why?
It's so because the rich will always have available resources to indulge in whatever business or venture that brings further profit. They utilize any given opportunity they get to make more money while the poor is often held back by fear and lack bedeviling them.

Quote
Is it that the rich have already wealth the day they are born? Have savings and investment?
No one was born rich. Though they can be born into wealthy or rich families, they aren't rich themselves. All men are born bearing nothing into this world.

Quote
I'm not saying I'm already rich but I can say that I'm better than before.
I've continually maintained that the only difference between a poor person and a rich person is the decision they make or take. Opportunities are presented to both but how they choose to react to these opportunities will be up to them and where the opportunities eventually lead them. For instance, there were so many people I talked to about Bitcoin but just a very minute few took that decision of investing in it. Of course, they're better off with that decision today than if they didn't follow it up.
1687  Economy / Economics / Re: The cost of living is trying to kill the living on: March 14, 2023, 03:22:36 PM
While growing up things were quite easy, an I also know that life was also easy for the common man, not until 2018 that things start changing for the worst, from then till now the rate at which inflation have struck my country to an all time high is so alarming.
This is a global misconception as we all tend to think and believe that there was a time things were better than they're now. At every point in time that people have complained of hardship, go and check it there are also people who are smiling in prosperity and affluence from that supposedly hardship. I don't know what country you're from but let me use my country Nigeria as an example. This is a trying moment for the country with complaints of scarcity of cash and inflation. Nevertheless, millionaires are also being raised in the same country at a time like this. It's really a different strokes for different folks kind of situation.
1688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Early bitcoin investment for my baby on: March 14, 2023, 02:15:22 PM
Few days back, I came across a post encouraging people to use the money well wishers gives to newly born babies and mothers as a gift  to invest in bitcoin for the baby,  then I was pregnant, just delivered 3rd of march.
Congrats on the safe delivery of your baby. I know how that experience changes anyone's conception and view on life, especially if it's a first baby. You know, the one that changes one's status from wife/husband or woman/man to mother/father 🤪

My baby and I has made up to $50 if converted just 10days after giving birth.
That's an appreciable amount of money in my part of the world. It shows you do have givers around you. Your idea of putting that money down in Bitcoin as savings is really a noble one. There's no better time to do that than now that price is about picking up to embrace a new ATH. However, my skepticism is on the duration you said you would hodl it in wait for your new born. 18 years isn't tomorrow or a year after. This is easier said than done but we all know how life doesn't play fair, given that loss, theft and misappropriation could happen within the period. All the same, I wish your plan comes through.
1689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: reasons why someone wants to pay in tether and not bitcoin? on: March 14, 2023, 11:59:43 AM
my understanding is that using bitcoin, you will not have to worry about your crypto being frozen.
Whether Bitcoin or any other cryptos, they can be frozen on a Cex if anything goes wrong. So, it doesn't really matter. I think why people don't like transfering Bitcoin but instead choose Tether won't be far from the high transfer commission on Bitcoin, especially if one is moving it out from another exchange. I use Binance but I can say for over two years now I haven't withdrawn Bitcoin from it. If I have to do a withdrawal I convert it to a stablecoin and then withdraw for my use. Bitcoin withdrawal fee is very high compared to stablecoins.
1690  Economy / Economics / Re: less risk or big profit? on: March 14, 2023, 09:46:33 AM
In some conversations that I have had with some rich people who are old, they most times always say that they invested in real estate and that was how they made some fortune. Young people understand that investing is key and paramount to securing a better future like these Old rich men did then, But the question now is what exactly to invest in for young people. Is it wise to follow in the steps of the old rich men who had investments in Real Estate, or do they completely now invest in cryptocurrency? The answer is sometimes traced to the one that offers the lowest risk and loss of capital.
Every business or investment has its own type of risk. There's none without it. Otherwise, it won't be business. It would be a walk in the park. Those old rich people you referred to invested in real estate when they did because that was the trendy business or investment there was then. It wasn't because such an investment didn't have those who also lost money in it. Haven't we seen real estate destroyed by earthquake or flood? Haven't we seen landed properties gutted by fire or other unforseen disasters? Haven't we seen people being sold uncleared and scam estates?

I believe investment pattern goes with trends. In this modern time, investment is gradually shifting from offline to online, from tangible goods to the abstract. If anyone feels they can cope with the hassles of the real estate type of investment, they should go for it. Don't just go into something because others are rushing into it. Understand first what you want to go into before proceeding.
1691  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Being drunk while trading what was your experience on: March 14, 2023, 08:48:30 AM
~snipped~
Hehe.. He didn't go with any laptop rather using his smartphone to control and monitor his trading...
Okay. I get your position now with the mobile phone stuff. However, if he was already in a trade (like you said it was monitoring) before visiting the drinking place I don't see how it should be a problem because he would've set his Stop Lose and Take Profit before hand. It's not like determining and reading charts to trigger a trade. The trade would've been entered in clear head and mind. With SL and TP in place, no trader should get unnecessarily over active or tensed. Just set them and let your trade run. For me, the SL is even more important that the TP because it helps you safe guard your account.
1692  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto or Forex? on: March 14, 2023, 05:54:00 AM
What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of the Crypto and Forex?
Advantages – You can make money from both.

Disadvantages – You can lose all your life savings in both.

On a more serious note (the notes above are also from serious observation, anyway), apart from the crypto market being always open and traders can go on trading anonymously; both industries are the same. The ease of comfort and earnings they afford once one gets it right and become profitable is indescribable. I don't think there's any online business that's as lucrative as these two markets (May be Binary too). Yes, the Forex market is way ahead of Cryptos in market cap. If that counts.
1693  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Being drunk while trading what was your experience on: March 14, 2023, 04:32:36 AM
I went out with a friend of mine and it happens to be a drinking hall (beer parlor) where he got drunk and as well trading.
That someone was drinking alcohol doesn't mean they're drunk or can get drunk from it. That's by the way. Actually, anyone trading in a state of drunkenness doesn't value or think much of their trading as a serious investment. Why would anyone try such? Come to think of it, why would anyone even take their laptop to a drinking bar to trade when they know they're going there to drink and flex? It's a complete bad idea. Trading while drunk is like driving when one is drunk.
1694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ponzi Schemes - People are confused. on: March 13, 2023, 08:50:20 PM
We should counter all of these misinformed people, with education on what Bitcoin is, because they lose money on Ponzi schemes and then they blame it on Bitcoin.
How do you counter people who've accepted their own ignorance as bliss? Go and shout yourself hoarse with them in an unnecessary argument on something that should benefit them? That's not me. In the past I used to get bothered about negative comments on Bitcoin until it dawned on me that only trees with delicious fruits get thrown stones at. These people are FUDing on Bitcoin because they've realized the potential in Bitcoin as the beautiful bride with delicious fruits and are trying all they can to shoot it down. Besides, no matter how hard one tries to educate those pessimists it's most likely to end as effort in futility.

The only way to convince those with negative mindsets about Bitcoin is to let them see the result one has achieved. That's if one is that type that likes validation from others. Otherwise, it's still better to keep mute when the success from Bitcoin starts rolling in.
1695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will altcoins thrive in the shadow of Bitcoin ? on: March 13, 2023, 06:57:18 PM
Despite the recent price decline of Bitcoin, the prices of huge altcoin names such as ETH and BNB have gone up.
I don't know where you took your data from but I know for sure that those two altcoins you mentioned correspond with Bitcoin price movements. They bleed whenever Bitcoin bleeds and rise when Bitcoin soars.

Over the history, Bitcoin has been and still is the most reliable cryptocurrency...
That's true, at least at the moment Bitcoin remains the most reliable.

Quote
the others don't seem to overtake Bitcoin's dominance in the foreseeable future.
If you say none to top Bitcoin's dominance of the total market share at the moment, you're right. However, we may see a turn of such dominance in the "foreseeable" future you mentioned. Things are changing and Bitcoin's dominance is gradually dropping. Before it used to have over 70% dominance. Today, it's around 40%.

The Op question clearly shows he got zero knowledge about trading and luckily for him he has come to do the right thing by asking the needful questions.
I don't really think OP is that lucky. I said that because the type of trading OP is on is completely different from the type of trading most of the users here are conversant with. I've read a lot of comments and the suggestions point to crypto type of trading. Deriv/Binary isn't crypto trading. It's volatility indices. Apart from it being trading, it's completely different from cryptos and even FX stuff. Except someone decides to open a thread to discuss Binary now, I haven't read anyone write about it here.
1697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Shiba Inu still worth it? on: March 13, 2023, 05:07:10 PM

I don’t fully agree with you, SHIB got hyped for some reasons and all exchanges want to make money so it got listed on all the big exchanges.
Are you for real? You think all those exchanges don't have a department that does check and monitoring for them? They can't separate hype? So, they all just jumped on the bandwagon and listed Shib, right? They listed it and are still trading it till date, just like that and you think it doesn't deserve any attention? This isn't plausible. There's honey in the game, literary saying. Shib isn't as worthless as some folks are making it look.

Quote
In my eyes SHIB has no real use, it is a meme coin but I still hold some. You never know that the price explodes lol.
It has no real use but you still keep hodling it. Isn't that contradictory of what you believe? It's of course.
1698  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Trade have types? on: March 13, 2023, 07:43:13 AM
I was on one of the trading app call Deriv Go and I had lost then profit and I using the highest volatility 100v and it was MT5 and I stoped because of the lost I had and I want to ask if it has type of trade that someone can follow to make profit from.
You're talking about Volatility Index and Synthetics. In the recent past it was known as Binary. It's traded like the Forex and Crypto markets. Unlike FX, it's a continuous market that doesn't go on break or close throughout the year, making it take after the crypto market that doesn't go to sleep. By the way, how would you go into trading something you haven't practised on demo? That's unnecessary risk. V100 isn't even as volatile as V75. You should demo trade it with the lowest lot size which is 0.001. Even with such small lot size, one can make more profit/loss daily on it than someone on 0.05 lot size on a currency pair on Forex. It shows how volatile the market is. Not even Gold pair is that volatile.
1699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have failed too severely, time to give up? on: March 12, 2023, 05:51:41 PM
Should I just give up for now and wait for the future maybe when Bitcoin gets more popular? Or Bitcoin and farming makes no sense together?
You should quit making it look like you're coercing your buyers into using Bitcoin for payment. You've to pipe low. Just hang a Bitcoin notice as an option of payment in your store or office but don't stress evangelizing its us, knowing you're in a fairly illiterate community. Accepting new things takes time to get used to on their own. I believe your people will get interested in using Bitcoin faster if the bonus you said you're offering is mouth watering. Something has to entice them. Other than that, they're not likely to try it out.
1700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto related jobs on: March 12, 2023, 03:53:42 PM
I did my research back then and found some platforms that offer such salaries, but of course I didn't try to work there since I am also hesitant if what they are offering is actually true, nevertheless I didn't bother proving the point of earning on those platforms.
They say the greatest risk is not taking risk at all. You would've known what was hidden there by now if you had probed further then. I don't see how anyone would hack your wallet if you didn't connect it to any site online or import a malware to your device. To find out the authenticity of any site, it's better to look it up on www.who.is before clicking on it.

Quote
So if ever one of you guys know such jobs or sites, can you list me what's your favorite ones?
If you're looking for sites/fora that pay subscribers with Bitcoin for making posts, I don't think you will find any apart from this one here. You're likely going to find those that pay in altcoins (shitcoins, of course) which aren't stablecoins. Those coins eventually end up as worthless coins without use. Bitcoin talk forum is the only forum I know that compensates users for contributing posts.
