Iceland's importation taxes for computers didn't existed 1 year ago. Now they where forced to introduce it, but they are refunded from the government in 2 months time. I'm at Thor.

If you don't want to pay import taxes, you don't have to go to the states - you could also search for a canadian datacenter.

Per our purchase, we are entitled to it. I believe late January is the date.
Wrong. That's the date used to decide how much hashing power you are entitled to, not when you receive it.

If not, we keep calling them and pressing them. Reminding them that us in Batch 1 helped get the company rolling.
Sure, as if "pressing them" has been anyway useful so far.
1723  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 08, 2013, 11:03:57 AM
@joshv06, the only think you should really be worried about is when the deliver the MPP. That's the only part that matters. I would rather have them to keep those useless miners they are gonna ship this month over the uncertainty of when they are gonna ship the MPP. The MPP shipping date isn't anywhere, there are no deadlines at all. The only limit is their decency.

@Visesrion, i personally went for Iceland. Cheap electricity, next to home.

@New video: If they keep the recording where one capacitor felt out of it's placement, it means that either one capacitor falling out is the norm, or they didn't have too many boards to assembly right now to repeat the recording again.
1724  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 08, 2013, 10:53:29 AM
I don't see why i should be grateful. They are probably gonna ship us really soon overpriced hardware that we paid with the promise to have it 2 months ago, and we can't even sue them because they are gonna refund in USD/get a refund in BTC as they always promised.

So the only good news would be "hey, the chip does 5TH/s! and we are gonna ship you that anyway!". Or "yes, we regret what we did, so we are gonna ship the MPP this month hoping to calm down the customers that we stole from".

That would be good news. Everything else, is bad news. If you don't understand it and you are in batch 1, i'm sorry for you. Other companies acting even worse doesn't justify them in any way.
1725  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 08, 2013, 05:58:36 AM
lol @ "The first HashFast board!"

"we can't show you the pics of the boards, it's under NDA, and the NDA is covered by another NDA, sorry"
-2 months ago, when those pics should have been released for the first time if they existed.
1726  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 08, 2013, 05:03:27 AM
Somebody please tell the dude in the middle to change his t-shirt.
Why, poor dude in the middle?

And will somebody puh-leeze tell Eduardo to take that damn masturbator out of his ear, at least for photos?
Why should anyone even care about that?

Seems like that we will have some info on the hashing speed soon.
Oh, yes, and thank you again hf for having stolen from batch 1 customers everything what was possible to stole.

>GN chip bringup - first production chips will be ready for pickup Saturday 3pm.
It's now. So, what happens now? What's the meaning for that post? We can go there and get our chips without board etc? Are they gonna release some specs?

The BJ should have a RPi controller integrated.

So, what does that mean that chips are ready for pickup from 3PM today? Are you calling DHL to have them delivered on your assembly house by monday?
1730  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 06, 2013, 04:39:23 PM
HashFast is asking me to write a miner frontend a la GUIMiner, so I may be doing that in the near future if they can get me out a test unit soon.

OMG, I can't believe the stupidities they are wasting their energy on. Who in his right might needs a GUI for high-end mining device? Who would trust a GUI to run their mining daemon? You do such a things in a console for high reliability and easy maintenance.

I'm all for giving HF enough leash to finish what they are doing, but this just pisses me off.

+1

(but if you think your customers to be idiots, it could make sense)

Something tells me that when CT will receive their chips they won't spend days twitting useless updates.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=359084.0
(something like 30 pics of CT staff and prototype in that link).

A few things to note on the CT vs HF rackmount unit:
-CT is using server PSU, designed to be in a server with the correct airflow and for this reason have a lot of free space in the rest of the case that seems to be used in an intelligent way. So much for john@amsterdam conference: "We are going to make the sierra units 4U (from the 2U design) because server PSU are expensive, you know".
-CT is not putting the radiator in front of the server, as HF is doing. In HF's way the boards will have to trough an airflow of warm (if not hot) air. That is just plain stupid, HF. Move the PSU to the front of the server and the radiators to the back, please.

BTC refunds... Denied BTC refunds everywhere.

From what i understand, they don't have the boards yet, so they are using some strange setup to test the chips, but we will have to wait for the boards for better results (and once that they have the boards everything will go smooth).

On how many things i'm wrong? :|

Ti sconsiglio di farla al PC inquanto potrebbe rimane nella cache del bios e qualche man-in-the-mirror potrebbe recuperarla.

Oooooookkkkeeeeiii.

That details is only applicable to old numbers.

Meaning?
That when they are talking about USD refunds in their website sales page, they are not talking about batch 1.

Awaiting for the update with max speeds. (that should come today as they said).

What are you doing the tests with if the PCBs are still unpopulated?
Also, to quote a rightful flame:

More good news!

Impressive. Particularly the fact you still dont seem to have a populated PCB to put the chip on, 6 weeks after promised shipment. Not that populating the board is going to be a problem, but even BFL has had that for months now and not having it means you cant have tested the board either. If the only problem was the chip's substrate, why did you not move ahead on all the other fronts?

Either way, who cares...

I will always remember when due to the euro going lower and a full refund policy i found myself with a few % more after asking for a refund (that was not btc related).

Anyway, what are we discussing? They promised BTC refunds, there is not a lot to argue. They probably won't issue them, they won't have to (i mean, they won't issue the USD refunds they will have to issue after non issuing BTC refunds in the case they don't ship by the end of this month).
