1741  Economy / Economics / Re: More bullish news: Paypal will alllow crypto checkout on: April 02, 2021, 12:42:43 PM
I know Paypal providing/allowing crypto checkout through the merchants will help/surge the price of the cryptocurrency market but this still does not change the fact that Paypal doesn't provide sound crypto services because they do not allow the withdraw of crypto on their platform.

Situation will not change overnight and you need to have patience. When they rolled out their cryptocurrency services, PayPal had made it clear that full services will be available for the users only by mid-2021. They are making new features available in a gradual manner. Earlier the checkout option was not available, and now they have enabled that. I guess within the next few months, they will also make the withdrawals available for BTC.
1742  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How long until we are all forced jabbed with the vax? on: April 02, 2021, 12:33:21 PM
Even at the end of 2022 still we may lack enough vaccines to vaccinate people in the every corner of this world, but we are already free now, we don't have any lockdown inside the borders. Probably restrictions to travel abroad due to the third wave but people started to love along with the covid because starving is deadlier than covid.

^^^ This.

There are not enough doses now to vaccinate even the ultra-high priority groups. Obviously there are some exceptions such as the United Kingdom and Israel, who have hoarded vaccines that would have otherwise gone to high-risk populations in other countries. Moderna, Pfizer and J&J doesn't have any spare capacity to provide vaccines to poorer nations. Vaccination program was started 4 months ago, and even now only around 10% of the population is vaccinated in countries such as France and Germany. In the third world nations, it is much lower.

According to the latest data, less than 2% of the world's population has been completely vaccinated against COVID 19 (i.e two doses).

Total number of people who have received two doses of the vaccine:
Total - 135,064,161
USA -  56,089,614
India - 9,640,340
Turkey - 6,942,183
Brazil - 5,078,476
Israel - 4,803,665
Russia - 4,482,884
Indonesia - 3,854,451
Chile - 3,832,331
Morocco - 3,767,210
Italy - 3,288,888
Spain - 2,797,015
Serbia - 1,037,709
Hungary - 863,195
Canada - 696,128
Argentina - 680,590

1743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone using Korean exchanges? on: April 02, 2021, 11:29:12 AM
Korean exchanges are very difficult for non-Korean citizens to use, so most people only use global exchanges because it makes it easier for all users to trade and also follow other programs on certain exchanges.

That is not the case. I have used 2-3 Korean exchanges to trade my bounty tokens to ETH and the process was really smooth. You need to undergo the KYC process, which is not very complicated (they may ask for the scanned copy of your passport or the national ID card). Once the KYC is done, you will not face any issues with trading (irrespective of your nationality). But I don't know whether anything has changed or not, as I last used them in 2019.
1744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why WazirX token (WRX) is rising so hot? 123% in 12 hours (!) on: April 02, 2021, 11:18:28 AM
Being a regular visitor to India, I can say that if cryptocurrency becomes 100% legal there, then India will be one of the largest markets. But recently the government has made a lot of hostile announcements targeting cryptocurrency and the users and exchanges have faced a lot of harassment. There are a handful of exchanges in India apart from WazirX, such as ZebPay and Coindcx. Investing in these companies is a good option, but we can't ignore the risks that are involved.
1745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: April 02, 2021, 11:05:29 AM
And if you look at the statistics, Germany is superior in possession and it turns out that Macedonia is luckier.

That was not the case. The Macedonian victory margin would have been much greater, if not for biased match officials. There was a clear hand ball from one of the German players and the penalty was not given. On the other hand, Germany was given a penalty kick (which was converted to goal by İlkay Gündoğan) for an inexistent foul. Anyway, the better team won in the end (thanks to the goal by Elif Elmas). And there was a tweet by Bastian Schweinsteiger, which pointed out the biased decision:

1746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 02, 2021, 10:48:16 AM
South Africa seems to be recovering from the collapse they had in their ODI match against South Africa. They are now 166/4, which is a big improvement form their earlier position of 55/4. Rassie van der Dussen and David Miller have made half centuries. Still, if they want to out up a score in the vicinity of 300, one of these two needs to score a century. Temba Bavuma got out for just 1, in his first match as the ODI captain.
1747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Crypto be more valuable than gold? on: April 01, 2021, 10:03:20 AM
Gold is also in a state of flux. After reaching close to $2,000 per oz, the gold prices have crashed quite heavily. The exact reasons are unknown, but the most widely accepted theory is that a lot of people have sold their gold ornaments and coins to survive the difficult economic conditions during the pandemic period. If that is the case, then this bearish phase will not last for too long.
1748  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: April 01, 2021, 07:38:59 AM
As Venezuelan, I call tell you that people don't even use local currecy banknote here anymore.  Sad

So do you guys use US Dollar or Brazilian Real? A few months back I read that ordinary citizens are not allowed to keep their wealth in the form of foreign currency. Also, gold is very difficult to purchase. This can be disastrous for common people, when the currency is devaluing at a rate of 1000 times in a year. $1,000 worth of savings can be worth $1 after 12 months. So how do you guys get around these restrictions?
1749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 01, 2021, 07:17:36 AM
Will CSK replace Hazlewood?
If yes, then whom you think is a good replacement?

Do they need a replacement? Hazlewood is a good bowler, but he was underutilized during the last season (played just three matches, and took one wicket). They have good overseas bowlers in Lungi Ngidi and Hardus Viljoen. And regarding local players, they have Shardul Thakur,  Deepak Chahar and KM Asif. And also they have Harishankar Reddy, who recently took the wicket of MS Dhoni in a practise match.
1750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Polkadot Good For Future? on: March 31, 2021, 04:40:14 PM
In terms of technology, Polkadot is definitely one of the best coins out there. But it is relatively new, and therefore the acceptability remains low. On top of that it is closely associated with the DeFi sector, and in future if anything goes wrong with that sector then DOT may be negatively impacted (similar to what happened to ETH after the ICO bust). Despite these negatives, I regard DOT as one of the better options in the altcoin market to make the investment.
1751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk said he bought Dogecoin on: March 31, 2021, 04:29:25 PM
I didn't see any remarkable improvement in the price of DOGE  in the aftermath of Elon Musk massive buying, although there was an instant impact in the pump price of DOGE whem he bought DOGE massively however thereafter it price dumped and had been stagnant after undergoing corrections without any volatility.from my own point of view it will take another massive buying by some whales before it price pump again else the price will continue to range for another long period of time invariably not ideal for trading and hodling.

There wasn't any massive purchase with DOGE. Elon purchased a few coins, for his son. The amount was very small, and it had no impact on the market pricing. The tweet may have created some hype for DOGE, but from what I can see it didn't lasted long. The problem is that DOGE is essentially a shitcoin and the technology is ages behind that of the other cryptocurrencies. On top of that, it's acceptability remains very low.
1752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk said he bought Dogecoin on: March 31, 2021, 12:50:25 PM
I'm sure Elon Musk has another goal behind his tweet on Twitter, hopefully his goal is to raise the enthusiasm of long-standing investors on Dogecoin or he wants Dogecoin to continue to compete in the crypto market.

A few things to remember here:

1. This tweet is almost two months old
2. Elon purchased DOGE for his toddler son, and not for himself
3. Even at current levels, DOGE doesn't rank anywhere near the top-10 cryptocurrencies, in terms of market cap
4. Tweet from Elon hasn't caused any noticeable increase in acceptance of adoption of DOGE
5. Elon is not the only one who has tweeted about DOGE. There have been others before him, such as Snoop Dogg and Gene Simmons.
1753  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you trust the co-vid19 vaccine ? on: March 31, 2021, 12:36:48 PM
One may or may not believe in a vaccine, but we must understand that this increases the likelihood of developing massive immunity against the virus and its modifications, while the formation of immunity "naturally" is a complex process, not guaranteed and is clearly associated with significant mortality. The choice is yours - try to defeat the virus yourself or get help in the fight against Covid-19.
The only thing I agree with is the prohibition of using any "fakes" instead of a vaccine like "Sputnik" and the like, such drugs should not get on the market - in their own country, such manufacturers, let their citizens treat at least urinotherapy Smiley

I understand that you are from Ukraine, but it will be wrong to call Sputnik V vaccine as a fake. According to the Lancet (which is the most reputed peer-reviewed general medical journal in the world), it is having an efficacy of 92%, which is higher than the efficacy that has been reported by Chinese vaccines such as Sinovac and Sinopharm, and British vaccines such as AstraZeneca. So far 58 countries have provided EUA for Sputnik V. Tens of millions of doses have been administered, without any side effects being reported.
1754  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: March 31, 2021, 12:28:30 PM
Anybody know where to get Venezuelan Bolivars in the U.S.?

You have a hobby of collecting banknotes and coins? In that case you can easily purchase Bolivar banknotes from Ebay. Else you can go for sites that are more specific, such as www.banknoteworld.com. I don't think that you will be able to purchase Bolivar banknotes from forex services (Western Union.etc), as Venezuela is currently under sanctions and embargoes imposed by the United States.
1755  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19, Lockdown and repercussions on: March 31, 2021, 12:11:45 PM
Inb4 in the Philippines the government is so incompetent even after taking a loan worth $400 million to specifically use for vaccine purchase, they still managed to let greed and corruption take over and had every private company/entity who will buy COVID vaccines to forcibly give half of what they purchased to the government, imagine that lmao. Not to mention the fact that they chose Sinovac with 50% efficacy and a huge markup price over cheaper and more effective alternatives all to lick Xi Jinping's bootsoles.
This is a serious accusation mate , Do you have concrete proof about this ? or just Media is what you are depending ?

The Duterte administration is doing their best to managed this Pandemic and still aggressive in doing everything right to end this Covid.

So giving this accusation means you must have a Deep intel to learn every details of this?

Just another baseless accusation, I assume. Powerful circles are not happy with the Duterte regime and the Catholic church is very much pissed about his rule. If he made the vaccines available to ordinary people, then I guess the Filipinos should be thankful to him. Because a lot of nations are struggling to procure vaccines due to hoarding by USA, UK and some of the other richer nations. It is extremely difficult to procure vaccines right now, especially from Western manufacturers such as Pfizer, Moderna, J&J and AstraZeneca.
1756  Economy / Economics / Re: After 1 year of Covid 19 Virus on: March 31, 2021, 12:01:20 PM
No need to concentrate solely on the negatives. Take the case of UK for example. The number of new infections have fallen by 95%, and the number of deaths from COVID 19 has fallen by 98%. Along with Israel and China, UK has been one of the success stories against COVID 19, thanks to the vaccination program. As the vaccination progresses in other countries, they also will be able to bring the pandemic under control.
Agree, but for a country that is still hampered by the distribution of vaccines, I think to be more aware about maintaining distance, still obeying regulations such as health protocols that are enforced. Since only those simple steps continue as long as vaccination is not completely evenly distributed, there is still a lot of time needed in terms of vaccination so we shouldn't be careless in this period.

In theory all these safety measures should be followed, but increasingly I have noticed that some sections of the society are reluctant about it (especially the youth and the ultra-religious). The younger people still believe that they are immune to the virus (which is not the case as seen from Brazil) and the ultra-religious insist that they need to attend religious congregations despite the obvious risks. And the worst part is that the vaccination program is progressing at snail's pace. In many of the countries, not even the ultra-high priority groups (health workers, 80 plus age groups) have received 2 doses of the vaccine.
1757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 31, 2021, 11:48:32 AM
I'll not be surprised they get Whitewash tag as like ODI series. These are worthless series up until this point and every one of the matches are one sided. Bangladesh Cricket are getting down and down. Their key players Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal and Musfiqur Rahim are missing and it's completely demonstrated in the field. Thus, we can't expect anything special from this squad.

There are some serious issues in the relationship between the Bangladesh Cricket Board and some of the senior players. This is in turn having a very negative impact on the prospects of the national team. Also, it is worrying that the country is not producing younger players of enough quality, to replace these ageing players. Even now the chances of a Bangladesh victory drops to near zero, when Shakib al Hasan is not playing.
1758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 31, 2021, 11:27:21 AM
There seems to be a slight advantage for West Indies right now. Sri Lanka has lost 3 of the most important batsmen and they are still trailing by more than 200 runs. The partnership between Dinesh Chandimal and Dhananjaya de Silva has added 59 runs. If they could do what Kraigg Brathwaite and Rahkeem Cornwall did during the first innings of West Indies, then Sri Lanka has a chance to stay competitive in this match. Else it is going to go West Indies' way.
Sri Lanka has lost three important batsmen in their top order. The match depends on the first session of the next day. If West Indies can bowl well in the first session and can pick up wickets quickly, they have a chance to win this match. Otherwise, Sri Lanka will score more than 400 runs and West Indies batsmen will be under more pressure in the second innings. I think this match will also be a draw if Sri Lanka can score more than 400 runs.

Both Sri Lanka and West Indies and West Indies are declining sides in global cricket. But that said, Sri Lanka is in a much worse state compared to West Indies, because they don't have competitions such as the CPL and their players are not in much demand for the franchise T20 leagues. On top of that, the West Indies domestic cricket structure is in a much better shape. There are 6 first class sides and the domestic matches are of very high quality. On the other hand, Sri Lanka is perhaps the only country which doesn't have a solid first class structure. Their domestic competitions comprise of matches between various club sides, such as the Chilaw Marians and Badureliya.
1759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 31, 2021, 11:16:32 AM
As a bowler, I think Imran Tahir would have been a better choice than Moin Ali. But if you say that Imran Tahir is not very good at batting, it is true. I think Moin Ali will be included in the squad as an all-rounder. It's not that England is just bowling badly. They are batted very badly too. At the moment there is no option to take spinner all-round in the squad now. I think Moin Ali is a good choice. Ngidi can be kept in the team to increase the strength in the pace bowling lineup.

If Moeen Ali is included in the playing XI, then there is no point in including Imran Tahir. They don't need to waste two overseas slots on spinners. Also, they have good Indian spinners in the form of Ravindra Jadeja and Karn Sharma. And in case they are so adamant about including an overseas spinner, then IMO Mitchell Santner may be a much better choice. I would like the CSK to go with at least one overseas pacer, probably Josh Hazlewood.
1760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: March 30, 2021, 05:38:00 PM
Two upsets seems to be happening. Azerbaijan and Serbia match is tied at 1-1 now, after 80 minutes of play. And Cyprus is leading Slovenia 1-0 after 79 minutes. Cyprus have a history of causing upsets and if they can defend well for another 10-15 minutes, then we will get to witness another upset victory by the islanders. But keep an eye on Montenegro vs Norway and Slovakia vs Russia (about to start in a few hours).
